I always had Whirlpool built in dishwashers in our home. Loved the performance. We recently moved to an apartment as we downsized and had to purchase a portable dishwasher. The price for the portable was so much more. I told myself I could hand wash dishes because lifestyle had changed. Hated it. Always dirty dishes somewhere. Does not get them as clean. I kept looking at smaller dishwashers, used etc.but knew it would make me happy. My life long friend bought me this Whirlpool dishwasher as a surprise Christmas gift. What joy. I am caregiver for my husband who is ill. This dishwasher gives me more time for me and to care for my husband. Everyday I’ll thankful I didn’t settle for something less. Love my Whirlpool and my friend.😁

Miss my Maytag! The hoses are twisted, silverware holder smaller and drain holes too large. Only used 1 time, did not clean everything

My wife and I received this as a Christmas gift from our kids. This is the third dishwasher we have had in the past 22 years! I have to say that this one beats them all! So easy to use and it always cleans the dishes spotless! Our other DW's, with 2 different brands, never fulfilled our expectations and we had to wash dishes after they were in the dishwasher, but not anymore! Whirlpool is the only name we will choose from now on for our kitchen appliances!

I've had this unit for a year and it is quiet and cleans well. However, after six months of use we started seeing rust through the coating of the dish racks. After 11 month, it has almost rusted through in places. I contacted Whirlpool support a few weeks ago and other than an automated reply from them saying they will contact me soon, I haven't heard a peep.

This was one of those things I hemmed and hawwd over, for way too long. I downsized into an older bungalow with the original kitchen cupboards. Which of course meant I would have to remodel the whole kitchen just to have a built-in dishwasher. I thought about the 18inch portable, but the price is the same as a 24inch which makes zero sense. What ultimately sold me on this model was the fact that it has a six foot electrical cord! That's what I needed for this to work for me. Other models, brands, only had 4ft cords and would not work. I thought they were all that way! So I bought it!! And I am so happy with it. I have ran it 4 times now, and each time has been a breeze to hook up. It really fits perfect. I thought it would be too large for my kitchen. Happy happy!

I had to replace my 15+ year-old Whirlpool Portable. I bought it used from a well-known furniture and appliance rental chain. It gave me so many years of reliable service and cleaning, when the tub developed a crack and could not be repaired, I knew exactly what I wanted! I really appreciate the improvements in the machine, including having a spray arm under the top rack. This new machine is also quieter in operation. My kitchen is open to my living room, so sound is a concern. The old machine wasn't obnoxiously loud, but I barely notice the new one running! The dishes came out sparkling on the first load. Whirlpool is my first choice when it comes to appliances!

I bought this dishwasher 3/19. 10 service calls, cleaning the drain and drain lines, blowing out the drain line, 3 new parts including 2 NEW drain pumps, 2 techs, the owner of the appliance store and $300 worth of new plumbing I was told I needed to fix a dishwasher that repeatedly doesn’t drain and is full of water. The appliance store says it isn’t a “lemon” and they continue to tell me new ways to fix it. Really? At what point will Whirlpool stand behind their product?? Sometimes you get a lemon and all I am asking for is a replacement! Can you give negative stars?

Our old portable finally gave out after 12 years. Our kitchen won't allow for a regular built in so We have to buy portable and built it in so we don't have to connect and disconnect each time. This was one of the few we found that was convertible. We bought on line in good faith and are SO happy with it! Easy to install and runs with very little noise. It cleans and sanitizes perfectly! Can't go wrong with this dishwasher. We are hoping we get 12 years from this one too.

I finally got fed up enough with my tiny kitchen, where I don't have enough counter space to fit all of my dishes after cooking a meal. I bought this about a month ago, and I am so happy that I finally did it!! The faucet adapter was extremely easy to install (if you read the directions), and the unit is much larger than I anticipated. I finally have enough space to clean my large pots and pans all at once, and the wash quality is superb. My water source is a well with a relatively high amount of iron, so I was concerned about how that would impact the wash quality. So far, I have not seen any negative impact on the washes, and my glassware is coming out nearly spotless. I am using the recommended cleaner brand from the manual, and the coupons provided were a big help in getting me started. I wish I had purchases this a year ago, but hey, nobody is having a good time with their finances lately. 100% worth it!

We needed a portable dishwasher for our lake house and there is not much to chose from. Wanted stainless steel and they are nowhere to be found. This one has 3 choices for washing, 1 hour and no dry, over 2 hours and dry and a really long one, 4 hours or something like that. Had to settle for black because I don't wash dishes and not enough wash options so that is why 3 stars. Also it doesn't seem to dry the dishes that good. Definitely empty the bottom first when done washing, if you do top first any water left on dishes will spill onto bottom clean ones. It does and okay job so yes I would recommend it if your not a perfectionist.

We bought this Whirpool standalone dishwasher a while ago. We are very satisfied with the machine. It gets the dishes clean every time. It does not seem to use too much water, or energy. The filter is easy to reach, and to clean. We have a hook-up to water and power between the stove, and the fridge. Fits nicely. Cannot think of anything negative.

We’ve had this for almost a month. It’s almost perfect except it doesn’t have a shorter wash cycle. But it doesn’t use more than a sinkful of water so that’s good for the water bill. It’s tall enough with a wooden top to use for a cutting board. It cleans well, don’t have to rinse, and has an easy to reach filter for whatever pieces accumulate.

This is the second portable from Whirlpool I have owned. The first was a 2002 model that finally died and was loud and clunk but chewed anything in it. The new one is quiet but does not have a built in disposal. After a month it stopped draining. I replaced the drain (not reimbursed by Whirlpool) and a weird goop oozed out of the pump . I ran a fishing tape through the drain hose and goop came out. This machine DOES NOT work with Cascade pods. I really wish they would state that in the manual and at time of sale. So, using powder and liquid works well. The unit is quiet. Clean excellent and loads a lot of dishes.

This dishwasher was really good and cleaned well ... when it worked. I bought this model not even 2 years ago (19 months) and the circulation pump/motor has very recently died (I Googled it and this seems to be the issue). So now I'm left looking for parts online (which is the cheaper option) or calling a service technician and paying $$$! Surely a dishwasher that cost close to $1,000 should work for longer without incident, especially since it's not been heavily used. Note: I would have recommended this dishwasher to others if it worked longer before needing parts and $ thrown at it.
Chris05/05/2023 01:45 PM
2.5 years and 120 dollars in parts. Replaced heat sensor and heat coil, upper wash arm, and jet dry actuator. Not a fan of not having waste disposal. 1 hour is not that great but is what I need. Make sure to use quality dishwasher soap and fill trays completely and use jet dry max setting. Where my dishwasher is located I needed a portable unit. I have had good luck with Kenmore in the past. I believe the government standards have hurt the appliance industry. Whirlpool, like some others, does not have the quality when compared to their past products.

I've had my portable Whirlpool Dishwasher for about 10 years and it's still going strong! I purchased it used through a rental place. It does a great job getting my dishes clean and I don't even have to pre-rinse. I live alone so I only run it once or twice a week. I was living in an apartment that didn't have a dishwasher when I got it, and my current apartment doesn't have one, either. It sat in storage for a year-and-a-half, and I've now lived here for 6 years. The dishwasher's performance and dependability made it easy for me to purchase my Whirlpool washer and dryer when I moved here. Whirlpool forever!

I bought this at my local home town Beiter's store in Lock Haven PA, to support them during these times. Normally I would go to Lowes but prices where better when I bought more then one thing . I need a new ac and dishwasher. My Kitchen does not allow for a built in. There are not many portable dishwashers out there right now. This one replaced my mothers 10 year old maytag that was almost the same thing just newer. The cleaning is so good. It will clean a normal load heated wash and heated dry in 2 hours. The stuff still comes out wet but you know what they stuff is clean, unlike my old one. Thats what matters. This is a chunk of change to buy well worth it. Its no frills just basic load and go!... Could not be happier!

We upgraded to the 24" Whirlpool after owning an 18" cheaper brand for about 3 years. The difference is amazing! The old dishwasher didn't fit many dishes - we ended up having to do at least 3 loads a day. It also didn't get the dishes very clean, and the washes lasted nearly 2 hours! The Whirlpool can handle all of our dishes and the cycle is only an hour!!! Everything comes out clean & fresh and my kitchen is much cleaner without dishes stacked in the sink all the time. This is definitely the best portable dishwasher we've owned <3

Second time using this dishwasher and it is leaking at the faucet. We followed installation instructions exactly and everything appears to fit well, yet it is leaking terribly. Whirlpool, how are we supposed to fix this? If no solution, will return.

I bought the portable dishwasher for my smallish kitchen. At first the washer seemed so huge since it is a full size unit. But I was able to make a good space to store it. I don't wash a ton of dishes through the week so I don't mind pulling it over to the sink to run a cycle. I used the sample pods included and jet dry. Everything has come out clean so far. I don't find that the heat dry setting really works, as there's a lot of water left over inside the washer and the top level dishes. I don't really care though. I'm just glad to not have to hand wash my dishes!

This dishwasher cleans well, but the racks definitely need some revamping. The prongs (especially on the lower shelf but the upper shelf's prongs should be taller, too.) aren't tall enough, and curved dishes fall over, making much less space for other dishes. Also, it would be nice if some of the prongs collapsed down, especially on the upper shelf. It would also be nice to know how the load is coming and when it will be done. I'm worried about how long the latch will last, too. I had an old Maytag for 35+ years, so I am comparing this with a top-quality dishwasher. I would recommend this product because the dishes do get clean and "maybe" wasn't an option to pick from!

After waiting 3 weeks for the dishwasher to arrive, I was disappointed to find the machine damaged. The butcher block top cannot be secured due to stripped out holes for the screws. The left back corner has been chipped and replaced. It does not sit level to the top. The performance is good, does not completely dry. I believe this is an over priced machine. When I contacted Whirlpool they could only tell me to find a local repairman. I have always believed that Whirlpool was a quality product. I am thinking differently after purchasing this item.

We bought this portable dishwasher to replace a different brand portable dishwasher that constantly leaked in spite that many repair attempts were made. So we were anxious about this purchase, however this Whirlpool portable dishwasher is doing a fantastic job with NO leaks. Unlike our previous washer this one is easy to program for different wash cycles and the dishes really come out clean for a change ( No rewashing needed). So for anyone looking for a portable dishwasher consider getting a Whirlpool and save yourself the hassle we went through. Only a few companies make portables and we think Whirlpool is the best.
