• Could not fully test this microwave because Whirlpool’s installer for my location botched the installation, damaging our cabinetry and requiring a replacement unit. When it was in use, it did a good job of simple heating jobs. One feature that is slightly annoying is the inability to turn off the Finish Song that plays when the heating cycle completes. The Low setting is acceptable. But the microwave stays in the cooking cycle until you press the Stop/Cancel button twice. Positives are the LED underneath lights and their three brightness levels, plus the fan’s three fan speeds. The unit we got was the black and stainless finish which matches our gas range.

• My last Whirlpool microwave (still going strong so I donated it) lasted 24+ years and I'm not sure I want this one to last that long! It works as it should even though the door sounds cheap opening and closing and it does not align perfectly with the number pad. This unit is also 1" taller and and deeper than my old one which is unfortunate. But the worst issue and a MAJOR PET PEEVE of mine is the underneath light for the range. They decided to put it at the back of the microwave (obviously someone who doesn't use their stovetop decided this!) and it illuminates my range knobs which completely blocks any light from reaching the actual pots on the stove and casts a weird shadow making it difficult to read the temperature settings on my new Whirlpool range. Dumbest design ever!! Also only has one exhaust filter area where my old one had two and this unit takes a tiny charcoal filter 1/3 the size of my old one. (Which had TWO). Like I said. It's okay but I don't love it. Oh and just FYI... The top where the fan vents (if you don't have a vent pipe to the outside) seems unfinished and is WIDE open (so all your household dust will end up in there!!) which is a just plain stupid design.. not to mention the fan exhaust blows straight up my cabinet doors. I'm sure that's going to age well (eye roll). Overall, with this and the position of the rear light, if I had seen this unit in person I would have never bought it but that's what you get for making online purchases.

• I got this installed a few weeks ago and love it so far. The time, it was only$10 more than the older model, and the LED lightbulb was worth it! It is curious that the there is no cover for the top gaps for circular airflow fan when using the roof vent and no inside rack. This is much quieter than our old whirlpool. In so much that I don’t hear it running when I’m in a different room. And often I’ll ending beep, which is a cute melody. I also like that this one is a lot taller than our last microwave and has 3-quick minute buttons and a 30-second button. Both are super handy. Haven’t noticed if this heats hotter or faster than the last one.

• If you plan on using this as a recirc unit above the range - don't get it. The charcoal filter only filters one side of the two fan wheels - it basically just pumps the smoke and aroma right back into your kitchen. Whirlpool sent a service tech, and the tech confirmed this to be a design flaw. Two phone calls with Whirlpool support and they won't admit to it. Look at the two photos. It shows the filter only on one side. They claim that it goes back through but it doesn't. Otherwise the MW works well and looks nice.

• Well, looking for a new microwave that goes above my stove, I was truly impressed by the whirlpool microwave. Two features that I enjoyed the most was the interior material. It wasn’t like my old microwave that was like a stainless steel and very difficult to clean. The texture of the interior metal was much easier to clean, and the fact that the turntable was lifted And not set down into the microwave made it justice. Easy to clean. This is Microwave also seems deeper. When cleaning the outside of the microwave, I found that it didn’t seem to streak like my old microwaved did. The panel is similar to my old microwave, with the exception that it is sensory programmed. The only thing that I believe The company whirlpool should do to improve is to offer a detailed instruction manual. in order for myself to get some instruction of how to work this microwave beyond the basics was to go on YouTube and find directions. I am a proud owner of a whirlpool washer, dryer, and refrigerator. I would love to replace my GE dishwasher. Please consider me in this contest that I may win At three rack dishwasher. Consider the fact that I am a senior, unlimited income as this would help me immensely.

• Our new Whirlpool microwave was installed on October 30, 2024. We love it! The only thing I would change is the underside light. It's in the back and I would have preferred it in the front, but that's okay. It works great and heats food quickly. I like that it has the "1", "2", and "3" minute quick features in addition to the "30" second feature. It's very pretty, too, and looks great above our stove. Highly recommend!ghly recommend!

• Redid our cabinets in the kitchen and got rid of my bachelor Walmart microwave I had for ten years. This Whirlpool Microwave is outstanding. It feels like a well constructed device when using it, doesn't feel cheap (it wasn't lol). Heats up stuff much better. Easy to clean. Looks great. we got it mounted in the cabinets easy enough. I'm a Whirlpool guy now.

• Have had this unit for about two weeks. It does what it needs to do, but there is room for improvement in the following areas: 1. The end of cycle beep is too soft and cannot be made louder. 2. At the end of the Cook cycle, you are either required to add time or hit the cancel button to return to a normal display and stop the complete tone from beeping. Requires an unnecessary, unneeded, and unwanted extra step to do at the completion of cooking. 3. The bottom light for illuminating the stove beneath is placed too far back on the unit, and therefore lights the wall and not the cooking area below very well.

• I'm not sure how to review a microwave. Isn't it something that either works or it doesn't? I removed my 30 year old Whirlpool microwave/range hood which was still working, and replaced it with this new one because we just replaced our 30 year old Whirlpool still working range and wanted the 2 to match. I did find that the cabinet hole patterns had changed (not surprising after that much time) so I had to drill new holes and use a hole saw to make a new electric cord hole, but putting it up and getting it fastened was relatively simple after that. I'm happy with my purchase, and I expect these appliances to last a good long time, like the old Whirlpools they replaced.

• Good replacement choice. We had to install it ourselves, and it came with great templates. That didn’t stop us from having to mount it four times (drilling new holes each time) to finally get it right (sigh, such is the life of a DIY-er). Great power, the features we were looking for were all there except one we didn’t realize we needed - panel back lights so you can see where the”off” button is when the kitchen overhead light is not on. Also, the speed selections (1,2 and 3) should just cancel when you open the door rather than require you to hit the stop button when they’re done (which I can’t really see in low light anyway).

• I purchased this to replace an older model Whirlpool microwave that was still working. I was very happy to be able to use the same mounting holes in my cabinet and the same mounting plate. This made replacing it very easy. It took less than 10 minutes. The new one heats faster and is black stainless. I would recommend whirlpool, especially if you already have one.

• I’ve had this microwave for a few weeks, and it has been great! I had replaced a 10 year old Whirlpool unit, and this current one is a bit quieter and more efficient than the last. The fan works well with the three speeds when I’m cooking only range top. The popcorn sensor is surprisingly accurate; not many kernels left in the bag. The fingerprint resistant finish looks great and is a noticeable improvement to me from the old unit.

• Overall Good. One design defect that annoys me the most. The under the hoold light placement is all the way on the back, so when you are cooking, not eough light comes out in front. Also they used circuit board with LED instead of LED bulbs so its not easy to replace them by end users if they want to change buld of higher lumn. This is the most annoying part. otherwise rest is all good. I expect light source shoud be placed in middle / front so that there is enough light comes up while you are cooking. To work this around, I had to get portable lights with magnet from outside and plug them in bottome front side under microwave to get enough lights.

• I purchased this a couple weeks ago, and it looks really nice in my kitchen. It was easy to install and it has all the features that I need and want. My favorites are the melt button and the soften button.

• Bought this to replace our previous Whirlpool microwave that had quit working, which had lasted almost 13 years. This one is as close as we could find to our old one. The biggest difference I noticed is, the power wattage is lower. Our old one was 1800 watts and the largest we could find now is 1,000 watts. We like how there is now options for changing the chime volume on the button tone, the chime when cooking is done also has 3 different volume levels but the loudest setting is still very low. The exhaust fan does have have an upgraded cfm compared to our older one, which is great in my opinion. I do highly recommend this over the range microwave.

• There's an extra step that needs to be taken after the buzzer goes off. You have to the stop clear button to go back to the time display. That's unnecessary. One other important thought is that your buzzer is a very high pitched sound. When people lose their hearing as they get older, they lose it in the higher frequency first. You should consider changing it to a deeper sound.

• I bought this microwave 2 weeks ago I use it about 3-4 times a day I have really loved using it. I am a first time owner of an over the range microwave. Power is amazing it’s huge so everything I have used it for no issues love the fan it has three settings low is really nice just enough it pull up the heat for the stove but not too loud the fan turns on every time you use the microwave I really like that feature . The light I liked it has three settings just like the fan but it’s not as bright but it works well and it’s a good night light too see in the dark. All in all I would highly recommend it to my family and friends

• Recently purchased this and I like the look of th microwave. However, the operating instructions for this model are pitiful! The "Owners Manual" is 19 pages of installation instruction and a half page of cleaning instructions. The Quick Start Guide is 1/2 page of instruction. This microwave is slightly different from my previous ones so I guess it's all on-the-job self training. Seems like it would have a brief explanation of the different preset cooking modes.
