After 10 months dealing with a Whirlpool fridge that only the freezer side works, after multiple services and off-work days, lots of spoiled food, finally this fridge was delivered to replace the old fridge. We haven’t finished appreciating the late-but-better-than-never rectification from Whirlpool as in sending a replacement, the newly delivered fridge probably worked for a couple of hours, then things went down hill from there. Food spoilage’s water discharge was discovered inside and under the fridge, ice cream melted, soup broth was in a total liquid state in the FREEZER even. It’s also a pain to schedule for an appointment to fix the new broken fridge. They just schedule an appointment disrearding of your available times (we have to take off work multiple days in the past until now, months in progress with the old fridge and now the new fridge), and we miss it for several days. When the fridge is finally diagnosed, the repair man says it's the compressor that breaks. Almost a week without a fridge with lots of spoiled food, we frantically arrange to buy a replacement with lots of difficulties while waiting for this NEW delivered fridge to get repaired, until who knows when... 10 months is not long enough to get a working fridge? And no offer of compensation for the multiple times that the food gets spoiled! Multiple calls and pleads with no help. Very disappointing! Whirlpool really makes an impression on us and our relatives, friends, and co-workers on its products’ quality check with our lengthy journey with our appliance. This is our first year warranty with the new home’s appliances.

We have had this refrigerator for four months. We have had issues since day one, the biggest being that, when dispensing ice, a cube or two usually gets stuck in the chute. We must constantly open the freezer and take it out or it will melt and there will be water on the floor. A service person came but said nothing could be done. We now have to check when friends or family get ice. It would’ve been easier to have an ice maker inside the freezer since we have to open the door anyway to remove stuck cubes. Secondly the drawers in the refrigerator do not glide smoothly. It’s often a challenge to open them. I was hoping for a quality product and thought I would get it because it is made in the USA. Apparently I was wrong. We have four brand new whirlpool appliances (because made in the USA). Hopefully the others won’t disappoint.

I purchased this refrigerator the end of June and it was delivered on July 2,2024. I was not satisfied with the condition of the fridge. There were crusty areas by the top hinges. Inside the fridge side, there is a gap where it shouldn’t be. The bottom of the freezer door has some kind of insulation or caulking squeezed out from the door seam. I wasn’t happy and requested another delivery. The second fridge came and didn’t look any better. Since my old fridge was taken the first time I just kept the first delivery but I’m not satisfied. It’s a lot to take off work and empty out the fridge and wait for a 4 hour interval. I purchased the item because of the look and the History of the Brand.

I purchased my refrigerator on December 16, 2023. At the time I thought it was a great and I liked the features that were presented online. Refrigerator arrived with insulation showing through the top of the panel. Also of courses stated in many other reviews, the doors are slightly uneven. I believe that the biggest drawback to my purchase would be the tray where the water continually runs down the front of my refrigerator every single time someone uses a dispenser for water ice. It seems to me that whirlpool would have created after production, widget or part to insert into the tray area and catch the water. Wiping the refrigerator down consistently or having a puddle on the floor is a nuisance and a hazard. Other than these factors, I love the extra storage inside of refrigerator and find the adjustable tray areas A welcomed edition from my previous Frigidaire.

Didnt realize a year! Took 3 visits to get this refrigerator. 2nd one was defective. This was seems used. Contacted delivery and home warranty to no avail. Ice maker has never produced much ice at time just doesn't produce any. Refrigerator door seems off..rattles upon closing. Bottom of refrigerator unattractive as the white parts are shown..black refrigerator..see picture. Also top door brackets expose. Cover available? Never happy with this unit, just got tired and ....

I bought this in November 26, 2018 through Costco. They delivered it on December 31, 2018. The doors were not even and I pointed it out to the delivery man. He said it is normal, showed me the instruction guide book and left. One week later I found ice building up inside freezer along the door line. I called the service to the Whirlpool and the service man came on January 22, 2019 and fixed the door level even. Less than a week, ice began to build up again along the same door line inside the freezer. It is brand new refrigerator but major defect. I had used GE and Maytag for 14 and 15 years without any this kind of problems. I don't know what to do with this. Return it or not?

I purchased this fridge after looking a reviews from multiple brands. This one met my needs, comes from an American company, and I already have a Whirlpool dishwasher in my kitchen than I’m happy with. I placed dial thermometers in each side to make sure the temps are where they need to be. At factory settings, the freezer averages -7°F, and the fridge averages 38°F. It does seem that it takes quite a while (at least a day) to get the temps back to normal if you have the doors open for a bit while loading new groceries. My only complaint is that this fridge DOES NOT come with leveling/stabilizing legs. It is simply on 4 wheels that do not lock in any way. We found this out the hard way as my niece was opening the door and it pulled forward and almost tipped over on her, as it is front and top heavy from its height. Upon calling the seller and manufacturer, neither knew why it didn’t have stabilizing legs. After hours of research, I found that the wheels are all it is supplied with. Recommendation is to go buy a thick industrial rubber mat or outdoor floor mat and cut it into squares to put under the wheels to keep it from rolling. I can’t imagine if it had fully fallen over without is being there to tip it back. I am impressed with the controlled humidity drawers that keeps fresh produce optimal for a great amount of time. The ice maker and water dispenser have been great so far. I do recommend the filter as it really does affect the taste of the water/ice for the better! I got the stainless steel front. Just a quick periodic spray and wipe with stainless steel cleaner makes it shiny and make finger smudges easily removable with a soft cloth.

I bought this appliance one month ago and discovered that the freezer door continually popped open causing frost and possible food spoilage. After investigating the problem I discovered the bottom hinge screws would not tighten. I immediately contacted Whirlpool. They sent out a Tech who had to call in the problem. He explained that a plate was missing on the back side which is suppose to secure the door screws. The plate had to be ordered and won't be installed for another week, that sucks because thats another week of constantly checking to be sure the door is close. Stay tuned for further developments.

Seems to work great at present. Clean looking and modern design. Ice maker is extremely noisy. Refrigerator door protrudes out at the top compared to the freezer door due to the refrigerator door gasket compressed more at the bottom. Refrigerator drawers extremely hard to move in and out with minimal amount of product in them. Glass panel supports for the refrigerator drawers are loose and misaligned. Water dispenser will drip but will not drip into the catchment pan but down the front of the freezer door. Large glasses will not fit into the ice/water dispenser.

I bought this earlier this month after my previous 9-year old GE fridge started leaking refrigerant. I found this one on sale. I have to say I am in love with this refrigerator. It’s not only beautiful, but it’s so roomy! It has way more capacity than my other one. Also, has a much nicer ice maker that doesn’t jam up, and the dispenser is easier to use. The refrigerator door is a dream, it holds a lot and makes for easy access to the things I use every day. The freezer has glass shelves. Things no longer wobble or slip through the cracks of the wire. Durability remains to be seen, but thus far I am ecstatic with this refrigerator.

I noticed upon installation that my refrigerator does not appear like the picture! The casters are not covered and the handles were askew. The installer returned to correct the handles. I asked the installer about the unfinished look and his reply …”they all look like that”….this is very unsightly. A piece of plastic covers half of the front casters and the sides are exposed. I have spoken with customer service twice about issues with this refrigerator. All refrigerators are basically the same. What I was purchasing was style not a refrigerator that looks like it has been moved to many times. I waited a month for delivery I will continue to investigate …

Just have this refrigerator installed today by Abt Electronics. The installation service was awesome. The refrigerator is beautiful except the inside refrigerator door the inside seal is bulging out and not flush like the freezer door, see photos. I have requested a replacement door as this is a brand new refrigerator. Also, I did not know the butter bin door only open so far that you can barley get your hand inside and risk in scrapping the back of the hand onto the edge of the door. I had to take 2 sticks of butter out from the 1lb butter box and squeeze the butter box in the limited space and than wigging the sticks of butter back in the 1lb butter box, scrapping the back of my hand on the edge of the butter bin door. My sister have the same exact refrigerator but hers is a 21 cu. ft. model WRS321SDHW and her butter bin door opened all the open, fully opened and she do not have no bulging seal on the inside of the refrigerator door. Also she have a better ice maker and her Whirlpool is a 21 cu ft and the Whirlpool that I have just got delivered is 25 cu. ft. and I get the low end ice maker. The ice maker that comes with this 25 cu. ft. refrigerator is the plastic molded tray like you buy from the Dollar Store. I hope this is not the low end ice maker molded tray. It must have been a man who had designed the butter bin door to open so little that you can barely get a hand inside without scrapping the back of the hand on the edge of the butter bin door. I don't have little kids who tiny little hands can fit in the limited amount of space within the butter bin door. I was like to know who was the idiot who had design this butter bin door and not have it the same function to fully open like the 21 cu ft WRS321SDHW. Might as well take the whole butter bin door off. The butter bin door needs to be redesign and function to be fully opened not 1/4 open. The butter bin door should be design for an adult not for little kids with little hands because an adult does not have little hands.

I bought new Whirlpool appliances to finish up my 3 year remodel on my house. I choose matching Whirlpool appliances for pricing, reliably and looks. The only issue I have is when I unpacked them one of the rear wheels on the refrigerator was off due to a missing or broken piece that hold the wheel pin in place. I probably should follow up on this issue.

I had this fridge for over 3 months. So loud, it bothered our ears all the time. The interior door compartments have sharp edges that gave me cuts on my right elbow many times as i reached in to grab food. The doors were not alligned. Paying $300 more for the black stainless steel was such a waste. It scraches off so easily and the silver colour comes out. Its just a black paint dont bother buying this. So much space inside and very well thought of enterior except for the sharp edges. This only comes with only one yr warrenty on everything. Bought an LG fridge and I am so happy with it. Not a single sound. Sometimes I wonder if it is even running. Best part abt LG is that it comes with a 10yr compressor warranty. Nothing can beat that.

Review for Whirlpool WRS325SDHZ01: When we went looking for a new fridge, we fell in love with the Whirlpool WRS325SDHZ01 that we saw on the showroom floor at several big-box and smaller appliance retailers. It had all the features we wanted, including a stainless steel exterior, ice and water through the door, and most important to me, the ability to change out the supplied screw-in LED bulbs with our regular 40-watt incandescent appliance light bulbs. Even better, while there was only one light source in the freezer (some other Whirlpool freezers have two light sources), there were three sources of light (or three bulbs) in the fridge section, making it nice and bright. We were super-excited to take delivery of our new fridge, right until I opened the fridge door and saw that Whirlpool had “updated” this model from what we saw on the sales floor. One of the updates was to go from the replaceable screw-in bulbs to newer “permanent” LED light pods in the same locations. My heart totally sank. We specifically choose this model so that we could change the LED bulbs back to regular incandescent bulbs so that our food would look normal, not blue. The LEDs give off a very bluish color light, and since we’re not Smurfs, blue food is just not appealing. I looked into replacing all four LED light pods with regular bulb sockets, and doing so would not have been difficult (just annoying). The second “update” that didn’t sit well with me was a change to the icemaker. The floor model we saw had the same icemaker that has been in pretty much every refrigerator for my entire lifetime (I’m 45). It is an aluminum tray that the water comes into, the water freezes into cubes, then a heating element warms the tray slightly, and plastic fingers rotate around to push out the crescent-shaped ice cubes. The current-production model, however, uses a rotisserie-style icemaker. What’s different is that the water comes into a plastic tray, freezes, and then the entire tray is flipped upside down for the pyramid-shaped ice cubes to simply fall out by gravity. We tried it, and this made noticeably smaller ice cubes than we were accustomed to getting. Given the changes to both the interior lighting and the icemaker, we negotiated with our retailer to return the current-production model (WRS325SDHZ05) for the earlier-production model we saw on the sales floor (WRS325SDHZ01). We decided it wasn’t worth the trouble and expense to change all the light sockets on the -05 model and still be disappointed with the “new” icemaker. Now that we have our WRS325SDHZ01 with the screw-in LED bulbs swapped out for our 40-watt incandescent bulbs and the traditional icemaker, we couldn’t be happier. Our food looks normal, and the icemaker is cranking out a lot of ice—it has no problem keeping up with our needs. I have posted a picture of the before-and-after of the light bulb change to really show how unattractive the blue LED lighting looks—so cold and ethereal. Other reviewers have noted this model as being loud; loud is relative, but when this fridge is running (out in the open) you certainly know it, but it is not bothersome. Perhaps it would be quieter recessed within a cabinet. So to review: if you end up with a current-production model (model number ending in -05), be prepared for the blue-light LED pods for lighting (or look up the parts for the -01 model to find and order the previous screw-in light bulb sockets; they are interchangeable if you are handy, but be sure to unplug the fridge first!). And be prepared for smaller ice cubes from the icemaker. But otherwise a great and great-looking fridge! Personal note: As of this writing (mid July 2021) I think Whirlpool is still installing the screw-in light sockets with removable LED bulbs in a few of its other side-by-side models—if you also want the option for incandescent lights in your fridge, do your homework to find out which models these are. And Whirlpool: if you are so determined to put LED lights in the fridges (why? WHY?), then please build in the ability for the owner to select the color tone to a color temperature (say, 2700 degrees Kelvin) that is more like regular bulbs. The ability to select color temperature is a feature widely available in LED bulbs and LED retrofits for home lighting, so it should not be difficult to achieve here. And why did you move away from the tried-and-true traditional icemaker?

I’ve had this fridge less than 12 hours and I already hate it. The wires are exposed at the bottom left foot looks like a piece is missing, the front panel damages easily when you try to remove the sticker at the top right creating an unsightly blemish, the water dispenser is too far forward so water drops down the front every time you fill a glass and the ice maker is really noisy when it drops ice. I’m already getting rid of it to buy a different one.

I bought this as part of my kitchen renovation. I had already purchased Whirlpool appliances (microwave, range) 3 weeks prior to purchasing this fridge, so I am pretty familiar with Whirlpool's products. After reading many reviews (good and not so good), I am pleased to say that the good reviews were spot on and the not so good reviews seemed a bit picky or had a lemon of a product. This was not my case, and am very pleased with the quality and features of my new fridge!
Whirlpool Renovation06/12/2018 10:50 AM
Just recently bought this fridge (2 weeks ago) and I love the look, functionality and the affordability! In addition, water filter has to be replaced every 3-6mths. This fridge looks great in my space and is not too loud. The only cons are: shelves aren't adjustable, ie crockpot with lid and the freezer area cannot hold bulk items. However, putting items in smaller containers can solve that. Overall, I love the look, price and functionality.
Aclanof509/12/2019 05:50 AM
The disadvantage of having to buy online (because appliances aren't available in stores anymore) is that you can't see it close up and evaluate the features. I wouldn't have chosen this if I had. There are 3 shelves that are each 7 inches apart and aren't adjustable. I had to completely remove one of the shelves so that tall things would fit. The manufacturer recommended not putting tall things next to the fan on the top. Also the ice dispenser is very awkward. The water dispenser is too close to the ice dispenser and often get both when I only want ice. It doesn't have wheel to make moving smoother. Two features that I do like is the 3 drawers in the bottom for fruit, vegetables and deli and that the fan stops running when the door is opened. The worst thing is that my food in the refrigerator starting freezing after only a month. It took about 10 days to get service and by then it was working again so no repairs were done. Within a week it began freezing again so waiting for second service call. If there was anything else available I wouldn't have chosen this but everything online is "unavailable". Disappointing.

Our fridge had clear grease goop that was very difficult to remove on the veggie drawer in the fridge, ended up etching the drawer. And, the Humidity gauge had a big glop of clear grease/lubricant on it. Other than that, fridge works well.

Fridge and freezer never sealed from the start. Had 4 service people to fix, even new door were shipped and did not seal. I cannot contact anyone as it is had to follow promts being 76 years old.

This Whirlpool refrigerator is a disappointment compared to my old Whirlpool refrig. The shelfs in the refrigerator side do not adjust, I hate this. The ice maker's shut off is in such an awful place, I have to remove ice tray to reach it. The Freezer side door hinge on the bottom sticks out so that you touch it when wiping down the door, and get grease on the sponge. Also, it looks as though the hinge is broken because of the design. The hinge sticks out like a sore Hinge (thumb). I would have returned this but was told I would have a restocking fee to pay. I couldn't afford to pay that so I am living with all these features. And tell everyone I know not to buy Whirlpool.
MARIANNE09/18/2021 05:48 AM
To coin the phrase ‘they don’t make them like they used to’ would pertain to this and all others I’ve looked at.Cheap and flimsy comes to mind as well. The biggest mistake I made was getting a fridge with the ice maker NOT in the door. This takes up more than 25 percent of freezer space. And its nice when you don’t have to stoop over when you have that upper space.Storage space in the door is minimal anyway. So back it went. Bought the Whirlpool with 28cuft.But I found much cheapness on this fridge as well. And I can’t get it to cool enough. Fridge: 48degs. Freezer:18degs. with soupy ice cream after a week of use. If customer support can’t help, the warranty will be used.Though a repair man suggested Whirlpool I’ll never buy one again.
