• I have had this griddle for five plus years and it has not failed me yet. Anyone who is having problems with it obviously does not understand how to use cast iron. It has to be seasoned properly and maintained. Clean while still warm with water only. Also, you should not cook on it when it's cold. Cast Iron needs to be pre heated to ensure non stick cooking. Please research how to use and maintain cast iron and you will not be disappointed.

• Love this griddle for our 36" GE cooktop. If my may make a suggestion to purchasers on how to use and maintain this griddle. My grandmother taught me how to season cast iron products. It has not failed me yet. YouTube will show you how grandmom probably taught them.😄 Season before you ever cook your first product. I always use a non-stick olive oil, canola, etc. spray when cooking pancakes and other foods never stick. After use I clean with a little soap and water and a scouring pad with a metal spatula. I usually clean while it is warm. After washing and drying I use a light coat of the non-stick spray and a paper towel to apply the coat. Then it is ready for the next use. I promise if my results change I will write a followup review for all to see.

• This 36" cast iron griddle is great for making pancakes and other food items that cannot be broiled or baked in an oven. The key to making pancakes on this griddle is to spray the surface with non sticking cooking spray so your pancakes will not stick when they start to bubble and burst meaning you can flip them over to the other side with a spatula.One word of advice; after using the grill make sure you clean it with a steel wool pad along with soap and warm water.

• As others have mentioned, this is cast iron. If you haven't done much (any) cooking with cast iron, do a little youtube research on how to season new cast iron cookware so that it doesn't stick. Otherwise, what's to say. It looks nice, it fits the 36 GE profile cooktop very snuggly, it has a sump, it does everything you'd want a griddle to do, it's heavy. No complaints, glad I bought it.

• Season it, take some baking/cooking classes. It’s cast iron not a miracle pill. It works only if you know your way around the kitchen.

• I very much disagree with the other reviews. When buying this product you must realize it is made of cast iron. Please educate yourself online or on YouTube on the maintenance and use of cast iron products. When I bought my griddle I washed with soap and water then dried it off an spread vegetable shortening on the surface and stuck it in a hot oven for a few hours- please ventilate your home during the “seasoning” process. Now it’s great and nothing sticks to it. I like to make quesadillas or grilled cheese. Then I wipe it down with a paper towel and add a little oil while the griddle is still warm to keep the griddle non-stick.

• I had to buy this when GE discontinued the stovetop I had ordered which came with a griddle. It's nice and heavy duty, but definitely not worth $94. It is also not non-stick. There's no excuse for this.

• I Love this cooktop, but the griddle that comes with it is very poor quality. The black is coming off and is rusting after 6 months of use. I am very used to using griddles. I seasoned it for the first 2 months (before the first use and following each use). I never use non teflon tools on this even though it is a cast iron griddle, yet it has already rusted and degradated on top. This should not happen! In addition, It also does not heat properly in the bottom left corner of the griddle. If this is made for the cooktop, it should cook evenly. Very dissappointed. GE.....Look at what Thermadore provides. Much better qualtiy!!

• Was so excited to use the griddle that we got with our new GE stove top... but buyer beware, this is NOT NON STICK and pancakes were a disaster. Even when using a good amount of oil on the griddle they stuck to the pan and it was difficult to turn them. Also, this griddle is extremely heavy and I don't feel comfortable putting this in my new composite sink to clean it as is most likely would cause damage to the sink. Very disappointed in this product and won't use it.
