• Never did I think getting a new refrigerator would be so challenging. It had to fit the current space, have a good brand reputation, and be pleasing to the eye. Those things take up a lot of space. I also did not want the water/ice on the door. This KitchenAid was the answer. We like it so much, we’ve gone on to replace all kitchen appliances with KitchenAid

• We bought this model in Jan 2018. By June of 2018, I noticed some rust on the top of the freezer door and some on the front door. I called Kitchenaid and after waiting 45 minutes, was told that this is most likely cosmetic and not covered. If I want someone to come take a look and see if it is covered under warranty, I will get charged $120 if it is determined that the damage is cosmetic. I am afraid the appliance will only start rusting more the longer I own it. I am also having issues with the door handle coming loose. I need to keep tightening it every few weeks. We are small family and the kitchen sees very light use.

• I was happy with this refrigerator - it looks nice and keeps things cold. However, as mentioned in other negative reviews, the left french door has a defective design where when items are in the door, it will sag, causing a flap that seals the gap in the doors to no longer align with it's receiving slot/hinge. This prevents the door from closing properly and sealing. Most refrigerator doors (including most KA models) include a tilt adjustment to offset for the door sagging under load. This model does not have that adjustment. I now have to forcefully lift the door and use two hands to get the door to seal properly. Very disappointing as this is a premium model and they could have easily solved this by simply including a standard tilt adjustment feature.

• Bought from Albert Lee Appliance. Had a second one delivered after the first one had ripples in the SS doors. The second one had the same problem as did all of them I later saw in the showroom. KA has a major manufacturing process issue with these doors. Still waiting for replacement doors and hoping they figured it out. Doors are also misaligned at the top. No amount of leveling fixed this and there is NO adjustment for it. ALSO, freezer pulls out on an angle unless you pull from the exact center. Refer shelves have a gap in the back where you contents fall if you push to the back of the shelf. Lower shelf does not have a notch for the bracket so you have to raise it up and lose shelf space. These are both HORRIBLE engineering problems that the slightest amount of usability testing would have found. But....they sell them anyway and make these inherent problems the customers problems.

• Would give this a zero rating if I could. Bought this model 6 years ago and the Freon leaked out of the refrigerator (Sealed system issue). KitchenAid tried to send one of their techs to our house to make the fix. I discussed with them and they didn’t recommend trying to fix the Freon leak. It’s $1000+ repair, no labor covered and very few parts. They also told me they recommended just buying another refrigerator because too many things can go wrong with the “fix” and you can end up in a worse spot than before “ie make the $1000k fix only to break down again.” $3500 for a refrigerator that doesn’t last 6 years and no warranty? KitchenAid please step up and help with a discount for people who have to buy a replacement because of a faulty product. Now bc we have all KitchenAid appliances I’m stuck buying another one to match everything else. 7k in 6 years, not ok.

• I bought this a little over a year ago and the problems started with the freezer when it was 9 months old. There was a ton of frost build up so the fan was clacking constantly. I defrosted the fridge and plugged it back in after 72 hours and worked fine till two months later it was doing it again and the temperatures were way out of range. A technician came out and replaced the fan and sensor. I moved all my food back into the freezer and it again started defrosting and refreezing. There was a large amount of condensation and my steaks were defrosting. The technician came out again and checked the seal on the door and replaced the board. The support at KitchenAid told him to have me put two water bottles in the freezer and the technician had me put ice cream in the frig and not open the freezer door for two days. I did this and the ice cream is mush and the water bottles have frost crystals all over them. The problem is still not fixed and have been without a freezer for two months on a very expensive frog that is a year old. I called Kitchen Aide and worked my way through Customer service people till I got to the “Senior Manager”. He said they had to send another clinician out again and it would take a week to have someone out. I also requested to have someone higher than him call me back to follow up on this case and make sure the fridge has been fixed as I have had days waiting for technicians, hours on the phone with customer service, money wasted from spoiled food, and the inconvenience of going through their customer service line each time and retelling what is going on each time. He said he would put in a request but they do not have direct lines to call back to. Kitchen Aid does not want to hep you, they just want you to be on hold forever and hang up. I will never by a Kitchen Aid product again.

• My new refrigerator was delivered on 10/09/23. I paid for installation and the water dispenser doesn't work, the doors have oil canning, and the KitchenAid logo isn't level. The delivery guys told me to call the damaged product number, so I called. The Home Depot customer service representative told me they couldn't help me until KitchenAid was open the next day and I needed to call back. The product quality is poor and the customer service from The Home Depot was just as bad.

• Let me start by saying, I love the look of the fridge, it's quiet, seems to hold temp well etc. That said, I bought this last Thursday and a week later it won't close correctly. If you put ANY weight in the left door, I'm talking sour cream, condiments etc it will cause the old style catch at the top that is supposed to flip the piece that seals the two doors together not to move to the correct location. The fridge will ding QUIETLY forever until you realize it and close it. After looking this up it is very common with other users. Unreal that you can buy $3k fridge and not be able to store anything in the door that has 4 SHELVES! I'm hoping KitchenAid can get this resolved and it's some sort if defect (even though others have had the same issue), if so I am happy to change my review.

• I’m about 4 months in to using my new fridge. I thought by going counter depth that I would be sacrificing space, but I’m happy to say I did not. I’m happy with the configuration and the size of the drawers (especially the cheese drawer!). It looks great, keeps the temp constant and lets me know when I leave the door open. The inside water dispenser keeps the outside sleek and clean). I like the configuration of the freezer. I keep a lot of foods frozen, so I do have to use my garage freezer as well, but it’s easy to find things due to the configuration.

• Just had this delivered after the earlier model died on us after only 8 years. My older model was still under warranty, but had to be fixed 6 different times. It once again lost ability to keep things cold on Wednesday and the authorized KitchenAid dealer wouldn't prioritize and come out until Tuesday the following week. Without a fridge for 6 days was more than we can take, so I finally gave up and purchased a new fridge which was delivered just two hours ago. Shame on me for just going with new updated model and not doing my homework. As many people call out the interior shelf design is HORRIBLE. There is a 3 in gap at the back of the four shelves so the anything the size of a 16 oz bottle of soda just falls down the back all the way to the bottom of the fridge. Furthermore, there is no lip on the back of the shelf so if anything is pushed back it will fall. Considering this is a counter-depth model things get tight in the fridge and will inevitably fall, not to mention every inch is valuable. The old model didn't have this design flaw. It is absolutely incomprehensible to me that this design was approved. DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE UNLESS YOU FIRST SEE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. YOU WILL BE SORRY.

• Bought this refrigerator not even 3 years ago and so far the handle has broken off, the interior rubber seal completely torn off, and the bottom crisper drawer broke off. So cheaply made at a not cheap price. It is just my husband and I and a 2 year old who can’t reach the fridge doors living in house and using it so not like we are rough on it by any means! So disappointed in Kitchenaid as I thought it was supposed to be made to last!

• Horrible refrigerator and terrible customer service. We've been sent two refrigerators now and they both have dinged up front panels and now the gasket/sealing strip on one of the doors is completely torn. This refrigerator is only just over a month old. They must have old inventory or refurbished fridges that they are sending. Do not waste your money!! In addition to this fridge our Kitchen Aid oven was turning itself on overnight! What on earth is going on with your appliances??! Don't think I will ever buy anything Kitchen Aid or Whirpool again.

• I bought this fridge about a month and it's the worst purchase I have every made in my entire life. The fridge itself sucks so bad, I've had a service repair out twice and he was not able to fix all of the many problems with the fridge. Since the repair guy said he couldn't fix it and there is nothing he can do, I have called a few different 1-866 numbers multiple times in the last week and have spent over 10 hours on hold total, including 5 hours today. I know for a fact now that the terrible customer service people purposefully give you the run around. I regret buying this product and will never purchase another Whirlpool product again.

• This is the second time we have purchased this refrigerator. Have looked at other brands but was not impressed. Plus I was familiar with the layout. Going counter depth is an adjustment. There was an issue with the left door wasn't latching. This was adjusted and fixed within days and we are very happy. This frig is so quiet compared with our last. I love the water being inside. Main reason I chose this model originally. Jars/containers in the back of the shelves can drop to the shelf below. The open space there is annoying, I admit. All in all I bought this model again, didn't want to take a chance on another and hoped it was quieter than the previous one.

• We have had this refrigerator for about a year and a half and have been experiencing the same problems others described - the left door panel isn’t sealing properly and we are experiencing ruined food because it is overchilling and freezing foods. I would not recommend this product at all. I am very disappointed for the price we paid.

• This refrigerator comes with my brand new house and I hate it. The back is curve but the shelf don’t meet all the way and things keep falling off. The door is awkward very easy to not close properly. The door flap is falling apart and it’s less than one year.

• I was worried that the counter depth refrigerator would not be large enough for my family, but that hasn't been a problem. It holds a lot more than our previous full-depth side by side, and everything is easier to see and reach. I like that the door shelves have removable liners that can be washed. One negative - I have to open both doors to access the deli center, but I prefer that to separate drawers - the deli center holds a lot, and having it the width of the refrigerator gives me more flexible storage to hold wide trays. Also, it's very quiet, which is important because our kitchen is open to our family room. It looks great in my remodeled kitchen, even though we had to re-use our existing oven due to budget restraints.

• I love having the water dispenser in the fridge and a separate icemaker in the bottom drawer. It’s such a clean look and seems to give you extra space on the inside of the refrigerator and freezer. We love our new Kitchenaid refrigerator.

• My old Kitchen Aid counter depth was a side by side. It seemed very small and items were stacked and crowded. The space is this new French door counter depth has made my life so much easier. Items are well organized and easy to find and retrieve. The water comes out cold which didn’t happen in the old fridge. I would prefer the dispenser to be on the right side however. I was amazed how easily the refrigerators came out and slid back in. And having the water filter inside is a thousand times better than lying on the floor to change!

• I specified KicthenAid for all my in-house appliances, including refrigerator, for my brand new home. They have all been very dependable and trouble-free so far. My only complaint is with your Customer Service. I had requested for a Warranty Service exemption in my email last 8/20/20, to apply for Extended Warranty under the in-warrant terms, in view of the pandemic restrictions. I was never bothered with a reply whatsoever. Also, you have a weak bezel in your cold compartment, which I had requested a repair, and I got a brand new replacement component, which has not yet been mounted because no service man has visited.

• I am disappointed in this refrigerator. The Door puffs open if you shut the left one before the right and leaves it shy of closed. Enough for the refrigerator to stay open, but not enough for the alarm to go off. It’s taking a lot to get used to making sure I have to check it every single time. I shut it and definitely before bed or I will go all night Leaving the refrigerator door open. I find the freezer door hard to confirm that it’s sealed as well.

• We had our kitchen remodeled last year. We bought this refrigerator and had problems with it inside the first two months. The flap on the left side door that adjoins the French doors comes off the hinge. I called KA, they fixed. It happened again and I insisted they replace the entire left side door. Hoping maybe it was a defective door. It was good for 6 months or so, now it has started to happen again. I watched the repair man fix the issue - so now I know how to take the screw off and reinsert the holding mechanism on the top side. completely unacceptable - I have asked a few friends that have the same design - and they also have had problems with the "flap".

• The refrigerator is great but there are a few design flaws. One - the glass shelves in the main area do not go all the way back to the back "wall" of the unit. The amount of "space" between the back of the shelf and refrigerator is anywhere from 2" to 3" - Issue? First of all, things fall of the back of the shelf if you aren't careful. Lots of bottles are smaller than 2 inches! Second, wasted space! The other thing that I wish was different is the freezer drawer. There are several compartments, sliding shelves, etc., but the main drawer compartment in the very bottom has a divider right down the middle. I'm not sure why the divider is there and I've wanted to remove it but it doesn't seem possible. If the divider was not there, larger items, such as a slab of ribs, or a long package of chicken, could fit easily in that space...one big drawer would be great! Too many compartments takes away from storage space!
