• We bought this refrigerator May 2024 within a few months we noticed water leaking from under the deli vegetable draws. The local appliance dealer came out said the unit wasn’t draining condensation properly, they cleared the drain per KitchenAid within another five months the problem started happening again, the local appliance dealer came out again with another KitchenAid repair recommendation said we should be all set two months later the problem is back. The local appliance dealer told me to call KitchenAid I did that today. Now they tell me there is nothing they can do but give me 20% off on a new replacement refrigerator. The kicker I just bought a KitchenAid double duel fuel oven. 7K worth of appliances this is how they treat their customers.

• Please do not be fooled by the beauty of this fridge, read the 1 & 2 star reviews CAREFULLY. This fridge deserves 0 stars. My experience began on 11/10/23 when I bought this thing, the first one was delivered on 11/11/23. I left it empty for 28 Hours before loading it up. Within 24 hours the ice in the fridge bin melted all over the fridge and the freezer compartment was thawing the food. I called the appliance store they sent a tech, the gentlemen knew the fridge well and had nothing good to say about it. He immediately called the shop to get another one to me asap. When he arrived the freezer was at 45 degrees and the fridge was 53. We lost everything for a whopping $2,000.00 worth of food. Fridge #2 was delivered on 11/14. I waited 30 hours to load fridge #2 I loaded it with water and wine, the freezer got a pint ice cream, store bought ice and bottled water. Everything was solidly frozen within 24 hours. Then the freezer compartment began warming and everything was melting, the fridge was warm. I called the appliance store and began dealing with the store manager. I then went to the depot and bought a mini fridge, infrared laser thermometer for $250.00. I spent about 2 weeks going back and forth with the appliance store mgr and got pushed off to kitchenaid warranty dept. The unit continues to go through the thaw, re-freeze stages every 24 - 48 hours. To date i have taken 1200 pictures and 100 videos proving the thawing, re-freezing and warming and then cooling conditions in the fridge. Today Jan 8th, KA has had our money since Nov 10 and WE STILL DO NOT HAVE A FUNCTIONAL REFRIGERATOR & FREEZER. I’ve had approx 12 visits (to date) from technicians, they call KA tech line and the person on the other end of the phone says “try this”, the part takes two weeks to get and it doesn’t fix anything. We are currently living out of a mini fridge and cooler. All holiday plans had to be canceled at our house. We spent $3,800 on this unit, plus the extended warranty $400, plus sales tax $500 and we GOT NOTHING! This POJ has cost us over $7,000.00. I used to be a huge KA fan I have several appliances by KA, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE. I do believe that KA/Whirlpool absolutely KNOW they are producing FAULTY units RIDLED WITH PROBLEMS AND THEY KEEP ROLLING THEM OUT. THIS SCREAMS CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT but by the time that happens KA/Whirlpool will have made their money while the consumer continues to be abused.

• We bought the KitchenAid French Door Refrigerator, on February 7, 2024, from Appliance Factory Outlet, in Parker, Colorado. We are renovating our entire home and had the refrigerator installed and setup on July 15, 2024. So far, the only problem we’ve had is that the Medium Bin does not fit into the left door inserts, as it should. Until this problem is remedied, we will not provide an acceptable review. I’ll be calling KitchenAid Customer Service, tomorrow, in anticipation of an acceptable solution to this extremely important problem.

• Hi, I purchased a brand new kitchenaid refrigerator five years ago, model number KFC704FBS02. It is the best looking fridge we have had but over the last year it has been nothing but trouble. The compressor died in March, called the service department and they said it was still under warranty because it had been inside the five years ago window. They replaced the compressor and it never started working. Came back out again and replaced it again. This time it worked but it was making a horrible knocking noise. They came back two more times to fix that and it never really went away. After that some other part failed and because it was outside the warranty I had to pay to get it replaced. Now my wife noticed some wet spots on the floor near the fridge, I pulled it out and found the hardwood floors ruined because the fridge had been leaking. I called the tech and he help me try to troubleshoot the issue, there is something leaking from the compressor lines, when he saw the pictures he said he’d never seen this issue before and he’d have to charge me to come out and diagnose the issue. This has been the wirst experience for me and my family, after spending almost $5000 on this piece of junk only to be spending hundreds more to keep it going after only five short years. I will definitely not buy any more KitchenAid appliances and will purchase a new fridge instead of spending any more money on it. What a shame.

• I bought this a week ago and so far I LOVE it. I love the exterior clean lines and the interior modern touches with a darker gray and wood grain accents. It’s a good looking fridge! This fridge has a lot of features and holds a lot for a counter depth. Very well organized and plenty of space up top. The freezer is pretty small but all counter depth freezers are. We have a freezer and 2nd full size fridge in the garage for overflow for our family of 5. I also like the water dispenser and how it accommodates larger size items. You can fill a pitcher of water with no trouble. So water bottles etc are easy to fill with clean filtered water. The ice maker is much nicer than others I’ve had with GE. This ice maker makes round ice balls instead of oblong ice cubes. They do recommend that you dump unused ice aprox every two weeks to keep ice from forming ice block. We use a lot of ice so, so far not a problem. I highly recommend this refrigerator and Kitchenaid brand. All my other appliances are also Kitchenaid and I have had no issues.

• Beautiful refrigerator. The ice maker appears to be a poor design. Already had to be replaced at 6 months. The new one actually froze up on me but I was able to remove the ice bin & empty before it became a problem. The water dispenser is too close to the face of the refrigerator door. If you aren't careful you get water down the door and on the floor. I'm careful but not everyone is aware of the issue & it creates quite a mess at times. As I said, it's a beautiful refrigerator. Would I buy it again with what I know now - no. I recommend purchasing an extended warranty.

• I bought this refrigerator less than 72 hours ago. The temperature goes up and down from 37 to 42.9 constantly. I have it set refrigerator set at 36. This can’t be good for food would spoil. Not sure what to do . Called Spencer’s in AZ the salesman said this was normal. Two days of taking pictures of two thermometer siting in it. Help help Just received my new oven today 4-27-23 as part of a package deal not working either. Error code F8E0

• Bought this thing open box in excellent condition from Best Buy. It's visually stunning. Absolutely beautiful product. Until you plug it in. It buzzes like you wouldn't believe. I already have my fridge in the laundry room instead of the kitchen because I'm autistic and sensitive to this stuff. But THIS one? I can hear it from the living room. Literally TWO rooms away. The compressor basically never turns off. It just buzzes and buzzes and buzzes. Not just at the usual 120 Hz, but also at a bunch of harmonics, so it's extra grindy on the brain. Think of the sound of 3 broods of cicadas hatching at the same time. That 24/7. Did I already mention that it just buzzes and buzzes and buzzes until it drives you up the wall? Or me to the hospital because it triggers my seizures. Well... I wouldn't be doing the driving anymore at that point. And the fridge can't drive, so there's that. They should really work on that feature. Anyway... The LED indicators on the front and the side of the door and in the water dispenser flicker at about 167 Hz with 100% modulation depth and a duty cycle of about 10%. And as any electronics engineer working with light sources knows, that falls square into the "High Risk" category of IEEE 1789, meaning these lights are known to be hazardous to human health. What that means in practice is that whenever I want to grab myself a drink, within 3 seconds of me looking at the fridge, I feel like I want to vomit. So I have all of those lights covered up with dimming tape, so I can at least still read what the buttons are for. The LEDs on the inside are better and worse at the same time. They flicker at about 1 kHz. With only a couple percent of modulation. Which neurologists don't believe is within the range of frequencies that trigger seizures. I still get sick when I stand in front of it though. It could be from the subharmonics in the 1 kHz flicker. Or it's possible that it's just from the compressor buzzing. I wouldn't know. Because I can't isolate my seizure triggers when multiple are present at the same time. Anway... The lights on the inside... They're SUPER freakin' bright. Definitely not what I'd want to look at at night. And I can't be certain that they're not part of what triggers my seizures. So I have all of those covered up with gaff tape. And why is all of this necessary in the first place? I'm glad you asked! Because KitchenAid can't spend a few extra pennies on making the capacitors in the thing large enough, so the lights don't flicker and don't put excessive strain on our nervous systems. And for the same reason they can't put proper vibration dampers under the compressor or MAYBE just maybe add a sheet of mass-loaded vinyl to the compartment the compressor sits in to absorb at least SOME of the noise and vibrations. Because what do they care? All they care about it shareholder profit. Because four hundred and eighty million dollars of net income isn't enough to satisfy whoever owns stock in Whirlpool Corporation AND make sure customers don't get brain damage from their products. So you gotta prioritize one over the other, right? And obviously, we know which one that is. And if customers get sick of this thing, whether figuratively or literally, and then buy a new one, well... more money for the shareholders because they own stock in all the competitor companies, too, so it really doesn't matter. Now, it says here that "we reserve the right to reject reviews, including reviews containing false, infringing, unlawful, inappropriate, offensive, or unsafe content." So we'll see what happens to this. There's definitely no false information in here. And I didn't use offensive language. And the only part that I think is unsafe is the product. But they probably don't want to publish this because it could encourage other customers with similar issues to file a class-action personal injury lawsuit and they probably wouldn't want that. But I can at least try to warn others, right? Maybe if I cross-post it on the Home Depot and Best Buy websites, one of them will make it through... Which now makes me wonder. Who is liable for this? Just the manufacturer or also the retailer? But then again, what does it matter? They're all just owned by the companies administering our 401k funds anyway, so what difference does it make? Don't buy this product. It's as bad as the KitchenAid website. I mean, it's end of life anyway. But even if you can get it used somewhere... If you're spending this kind of money, just get yourself a Bosch. From a German company with an ethical business model that prioritizes innovation, energy efficiency, and quality engineering and knows how to take care of both its customers and its employees. • I purchased this refrigerator in 2016 and have had nothing but issues with the ice maker. The unit is very slow and the ice was freezing together forming a solid chunk and water was also leaking under the bin, freezing up the tray to the refrigerator itself. After at least 6 repair visits where the whole unit was replaced twice and on the fourth visit they did find that the plastic ice tray was cracked and was leaking water which was causing the solid mass of ice in the bin and around it. The tray was replaced which took care of the ice around the bin but the cubes are still freezing together in the bin. I have to open the capartment daily to break up the cubes so that they dispense or completely dump the ice and thaw out the solid mass that has formed in the bin. See photos ! Wen are big ice people, So needless to say I am not pleased with this. Also, the handle on the Freezer drawer needs to be tightened weekly and not really loving the storage.

• Much better layout than our KitchenAid side by side. High end fit and finish. Our last unit was a builder supplied KitchenAid side by side that only lasted 5 years. We couldn’t wait a week for a repair person to show up and feared a back ordered part so we replaced it. We are hopeful that this refrigerator will last more than 5 years. We have 2 thermometers (analog & digital w/remote) in the refrigerator section and despite having the temp set at 37 or lower, the temp ranges from 29 - 41 throughout the day. It is not overfilled and has plenty of space between its contents. Kitchen Aid needs to do a better job with manuals. The “owners” manual is more a setup manual and has no real info of some of the key features. Why do I have to go online to figure out how to calibrate and set the water measurements & favorites?

• We purchased this as a part of a KitchenAid kitchen suite for a remodel. So far, we like this unit. The black stainless exterior is very nice. The sides are clad in the black leatherette finish, which is good. I've read the black stainless scratches easily, so my magnetized notepads, etc. are on the side. As for the interior: left interior door mostly holds small condiment bottles. Right interior door has deeper shelves, but it does not accommodate taller bottles. We had to remove one of the shelves so that our taller bottles would fit - so some lost storage there. Left interior drawer will extend all the way out when only the left side of the french door is open. The right interior drawer will NOT extend out with only the right french door open, so you have to open both doors to get into that bin, along with the other long pull out trays. I'd say the actual interior shelves would work well for a smaller family with fewer food items to store. The freezer portion is adequate for us, and the three shelves work well. The ice maker/water maker are good. Overall, we are happy with this particular KitchenAid appliance. The quality seems good; as for value, I rated it average because imo it is pricey for what you get.

• TERRIBLE. Six months in, I started to get water leaking inside or outside the dispenser and the ice cubes were icebergs. These are not what KitchenAid calls ice clumps. These could have sunk the Titanic. Seven months, four repairs and a technician who was at my house speaking to KA's Master technician, the problem was only slightly repaired -- meaning the water dripping onto the floor or inside the fridge was fixed. Icebergs still were a major problem. It would jam up the mechanism so you couldn't dispense the cubes that were in there. I was waiting for the motor to break. KitchenAid, who told me that they would send me to the "alternate resolution team" if the problem continued wouldn't. Their newest "solution" was they would bring out a different certified tech to check the work of the certified tech who spoke to their master tech. No. The appliance store got involved trying to help resolve the problem, who eventually decided to swap my refrigerator for another one, and they would continue the fight with KitchenAid -- which apparently KitchenAid still thinks I have this refrigerator because they invited me to review the product. I didn't like how little the and disorganized the freezer was. The shape of the ice cubes was nice when they weren't adhered to each other. STAY AWAY FROM THIS REFRIGERATOR IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY.

• WARNING: BUYERS CHECK OUT THE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BUY!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND SAVE YOURSELF TROUBLE! We purchased this refrigerator on 3/24/17 when we first moved. The refrigerator is very pretty however the quality is very poor. It is not cooling now. The whole refrigerator food went bad since last week. We are so regret that we should check out negative reviews on this website first before we commit to the purchase. The price is not cheap. We thought we were paying for the good quality and hope it could last long, but it wasn't. It is a huge disappointment now. See the photo, the temperature in refrigerator is above 60 F.

• Not worth the money and horrible customer support. The refrigerator started making noise (I mean loud horrible noises in December/January). Then the fridge stopped cooling. Called customer support the first week of February and was told I could have a technician the end of February. Appointment scheduled for the 20th. That appointment was rescheduled by the technician due to weather and now scheduled for the 28th. The coils are clean the air vents are clear and the freezer works. The bottom drawer in the fridge is frozen, everything else has gone bad. Hundreds of dollars worth of food has had to be tossed. I’ve tried calling customer support several times only to be on hold for 30 minutes plus and having to hang up. For a fridge that cost close to 4k it is a nightmare and poorly made. I wish I had kept my old fridge.

• We've had our new KitchenAid fridge for about two months now and we LOVE IT! We had a Whirlpool that had been great for many, many years. Unfortunately, it was improperly stored for 3 months during our move from CA to NV, and the freezer side suffered. So after limping along for 3 years, we decided it was time for a new one. It is everything we were hoping for and more. We still can't believe how beautiful and effective the interior lighting makes everything so easy to see and locate!! We'd recommend this fridge to everyone!

• Purchased brand new. Within 2 months fridge stopped working. After 2 visits by factory certified tech he finally realized there was a recall, which required the entire electronic and fan assembly in back of fridge to be replaced. I was without a fridge for two weeks. Entire fridge had to be dismantled in my kitchen repaired and put back together. I feel like I bought a used fridge. Fridge is now making new noises and will have to call in another service call. For one of the more expensive products in the line, this fridge is a dudd!

• Have had this refrigerator less than two months. I loved the platinum interior and ample storage for a counter-depth fridge. The love is gone. Yesterday morning, I noticed water on the floor, and assumed one of the kids dropped ice and didn’t pick it up. This afternoon, I come home to another puddle on the right side of the fridge and the fan making terrible noise. This is NOT a water line leak, the water seems to be seeping from somewhere inside the cabinet. We purchased an extended extended warranty with it, so I called their “Squad.” They’re booked and cannot come for 10 days. That tech heard noise over the phone and suspected ice is built up around the fan. Since it’s still under manufacturer’s warranty he suggested calling KitchenAid/Whirlpool to get service faster. Too bad that since I callled after 4 PM on a Saturday, there’s absolutely no customer service available until Monday. Fridge seems to be getting warmer inside and the noise is getting louder. I cannot have this continue to have this noise and let it leak water all over my hardwood floors all weekend, so into showroom mode it goes. Fingers crossed the water seepage stops. Had to transfer all the food into our basement & garage fridges (thankfully we have that option). Cannot believe a $3700 major appliance is failing in less than two months and I cannot even talk to someone from the company until Monday.

• We selected on this refrigerator because we were seeking a cabinet depth model, but didn’t want to sacrifice storage space. We were quite worried after reading reviews that described the refrigerator as having a design flaw. We’ve now had this refrigerator for a month, and everything is working beautifully. The counter-depth design and interior finishes (clear bins, LED lighting) allow us to easily see everything in the fridge. This fridge seems more spacious and well laid out than our old standard depth model. The freezer compartment takes getting used to, but is thoughtfully designed to maximize use of the available space. We are very pleased with our purchase.
