  • Wanted to get rid of the hood-micro option, didn't want it sitting on my nice quartz counter top, so researched and found this sold at COSTCO. Easy-peasy install, works perfectly!

  • Heed the warnings of other customers. This microwave is not only a piece of junk but also a fire hazard. When cooking items, moisture from the food will form condensation in the control panel causing a longer term problem of the panel randomly starting or not working at all. One time the microwave turned on again by itself for food that had completed the cooking time and severely burned the food. If we had not been home, the microwave would have continued to cook the food and could have created a fire. Within a year, the microwave had to be repaired multiple times. Despite sending video to kitchen aid showing the electronic control board start scrolling and turn on by itself kitchenaid refused to replace the microwave and instead performed repairs that were only temporary.

  • I bought the KitchAid 24 inch under the counter Microwave for our new kitchen remodel. We installed in a convenient place in the island and are so happy with it. I don't know if it is us or the microwave but I hardy have to clean this as opposed to one with a turning plate. Only downside is having to bend to look a the food, which we knew when purchasing. It has been installed for a couple of months now and we have had no issues or concerns. KitchenAid products have been good to us.

  • We bought this microwave almost a year ago. It sat in storage for 6 months and has been in service for 6 months. We had trouble with it when it was first installed. It cannot be screwed too tight in the cabinet enclosure or the safety lockout will engage. Reinstalled it and it has been perfect ever since. A small improvement would be to backlight or make easier to see , the different function buttons on the controller. Although we mostly use the one tough start button for a one minute cook, the other functions are more tedious and are not intuitive. Overall we really like this microwave. We hope to get many years of reliable service from this appliance.

  • What can I say negative about this item? Absolutely nothing! From the professional delivery and opening the box in front of me, to the drop off. Everything went smoothly as can be. Then came the install, I had professionals install it just to make sure it was done properly. The style of this under counter microwave is by far one of the best investments I have ever purchased. Sorry everyone I do not have any videos to upload as they were quite large 4K resolution. But if you are looking for an under counter pull out microwave drawer this is by far the best one out there.

  • We used this microwave a total of five minutes on the first day and then it stopped heating food up. Sounded like it was running, lights worked, and it was "running" but wouldn't heat anything up. Called for service and they "fixed" it. Only to have it break a week later when the drawer would keep kicking back open. They came back for service and now we haven't been able to use it for weeks as the part needed is on back order. My first piece of advice - don't get this microwave!!! My second piece of advice- if you are like me and liked the aesthetic of the microwave and actually order it, get the best warranty you can. Super frustrating that we can't even use this!

  • I love my new microwave! It has so many neat features like melt, soften, warm, keep warm. It even has a setup for custom and a Beverage Center. I’m actually still figuring it out. We just remodeled my grandparents old home place and got all new Kitchenaid appliances. It’s my favorite room in the whole house!

  • The microwave I received didn’t work right from day one. We had to have a repairman out three times before whirlpool would replace it. All three attempt were fails. The worst part is you have to call whirlpool to tell them but you have to sit on hold for 30-40 minutes at a time. After the third attempt I had to ask for a supervisor to resolve the situation. It was replaced at that point but the delivery of the new one was cancel the morning we were supposed to receive it. The process took two months. I finally went to the trucking company that delivers the appliances and picked up the new one. Hopefully this one will work properly.

  • We are very pleased that we decided to purchase this under the counter microwave to protect ourselves from reaching over our heads to remove hot foods! The look and convenience are just bonuses!!!

  • Microwave has a bad magnatron out of the box. Called for service and KitchenAid is zero help. I purchased the unit just over a year ago when I found one on sale, didn’t install it until my new house built was completed just 4 weeks ago. KitchenAid wants to have me pay to fix the unit. Do not buy KitchenAid products or products from the family of brands they own, they don’t stand behind their products.

  • I’m not usually good at putting any negative reviews but I will say that my husband got to pick the microwave out of our whole kitchen and it is a pain in the rear to lean over and clean it. It is also very sensitive so if you do not hold a button down and lock it then it will constantly open up on your legs if you’re standing at the counter cutting anything or doing anything it will open and hit you in the legs. It also has no back lights so you literally have to get down low to see what buttons your pressing, if you have the lights off in the kitchen forget it because you can’t see anything. The key has no lights whatsoever. And last but least it’s extremely over priced.

  • The engineer/designer of this microwave should return to a new modified version…one that is closer to the Sharp undercounter microwave that has the control panel hidden. I wish I would have selected the Sharp brand vs.Kitchenaid. Why? The control panel needs to be continuously locked and then unlocked to use in order to avoid the unit from running because someone accidentally has bumped the control panel. I have a picture of a splash guard that melted because someone didn’t know their leaning resulted in the microwave being turned on. That is a fire hazard and I’m guessing I’m not the first client to voice concern. How does the control panel not recognize the difference between a finger selection vs someone leaning or bumping up to the control panel.

  • So this microwave came with our new build house. When you need to clean the roof of the microwave, or worse the back wall, you have to contort yourself in crazy ways to clean it because THE DRAWER IS NOT REMOVEABLE. Like, who thought that was a good idea? It's definitely not accessible if you are disabled. Plus, either I have to keep it locked at all times or I'll randomly be reaching into the cabinet above the microwave and it will either start running or worse (for me), start opening. This is a problem being disabled. I had really liked the idea of it being under the counter until I realized just how problematic it is.

  • I am not a user of microwaves but my fiancé is a huge fan of them. When remodeling my kitchen in July this was our compromise. We added an island and it was the perfect solution for us both! He loves everything about the function of it and I love that I don’t have to see it above my stove or sitting on my counters. Win! Win!

    CMarieK01/25/2023 05:52 AM

  • I love the under counter idea. It’s saves counter space. The reason for a 3 star is seeing it displayed in the bright lights at the store the control panel is easy to read even though it’s at thigh height. Ours is at the end of our island. Standing about 2 feet from it the panel is not readable without bending down or Turing sideways and leaning over right in front of the microwave. I would recommend an improvement to change the flat Control panel to making it a slight angle upwards or even light up. I still am glad it’s off the counter.

  • We've had our microwave for over 2 years and continue to enjoy it. Having it under the counter frees up the counter space for other items outside of appliances. That makes this microwave the ultimate inconvenience. I will say a few features that I wish it had were a night light for doing preparation in the evenings without having to turn on the lights. I also wish it had a tilting control panel. That would be great for tall people who then would not have to bend over to operate the microwave. With those two features in place this would be the absolute best microwave available. All in all, we still love it.

    Singleton12/26/2022 10:16 PM

  • I purchased the KitchenAid microwave drawer because all my other new appliances were KitchenAid and I wanted them to match. I have been using the microwave now for about two months and really wish I had not purchased it. It is very very difficult to see the control panel unless you either have a flashlight or turn on all the lights in the kitchen. It’s really a nuisance. I have also yet to take out a plate of food that I was trying to reheat that it’s very hot around the edges and still cold in the center. I have read that this microwave does not need a turntable because the heating element is on the top but I totally disagree.

    Captain32604/16/2020 05:15 AM

  • This is an awful product. The buttons aren’t backlit so they’re very difficult to see, anytime you work on the counter near it you end up hitting the buttons, the drawer takes forever, and worst of all, mine only works every other time (I’m sure I’m doing something wrong, but I’ve never had this issue with any other microwave, they just work) it literally only works every other time, and will look and sound like it’s working when it’s not, I’ve tried every button and procedure and it continues to happen. For how much it costs this product is an abomination, a problem in search of a solution, and not worth the space it takes up. Any Walmart bottom shelf microwave would be better.

  • I bought this microwave drawer, and out of the 3 months I have been using it, it has worked about one third of the time. So disappointing from a brand I have always considered excellent. Customer service insists on just sending repairmen (two so far, and will probably be more) to fix the problems, but one problem gets fixed (after waiting a week or two for the parts and then get them installed) and then it breaks down again. I want to get it replaced, but KitchenAid will not do that. My entire suite of appliances in my new kitchen are KitchenAid - I am beginning to regret that.

    tt202102/20/2021 04:19 AM

  • I received this microwave on 4/29/21. It did not work and kitchenaid customer service explained even though it’s brand new, they could not replace it, it would have to be serviced. The service guy reviewed it and explained it needed a couple parts from the manufacturer which he ordered but they are on back order. He’s had to cancel my next service appointment because the parts are still not in and they are still showing back order. I have been without a working microwave going on 7 weeks now and they told me today it’s still on back order! I’m very upset that I made this purchase. A brand new, very expensive and top of the line microwave should not arrive broke nor should the customer service put me through this!

    Mmak06/14/2021 09:43 PM

  • I have been using my microwave in a drawer for just over 2 months. I can’t believe how much more powerful it is than my last microwave. The drawer will “lock” so it’s not opened when you brush by it. I’m sure there is more I will discover as I keep Using it.

  • We bought this in November of 2021, however the kitchen wasn't ready for it to be installed until February. (We moved in mid February) It literally worked ONE time; and then would no longer heat. I contacted customer service and they scheduled an appt with the company contracted to do their warranty work. They came out in April and ordered two parts. The parts finally came in mid June, the repair company came out and replaced them. I got home that afternoon and once again, it would NOT heat. There has been no resolution and I still have an expensive, useless appliance.

    CrissG2306/23/2022 10:45 PM

  • This microwave works fine, but is not intuitive on any front. You cannot adjust the beeper volume. Not a big deal except when everyone is sleeping and you want to reheat your coffee and the beeper wakes them. It does not have the instant time buttons for 30 seconds or push the 1 number for 1 minute and 2 for 2 minutes, etc... a simple feature that I used to used all the time. And lastly, a under countertop microwave is just plain inconvenient... it looks cool but is too difficult to use because it is too low and one has to bend over or get on your knee to put item in and take them out.

  • For our kitchen remodel, we wanted to relocate the microwave above the cooktop to get a better vent with a more appealing vent hood design. It was important to not lose any counter space. This microwave drawer was perfect! We love the look and performance. And, it was super easy to install.
