Stainless Steel Knobs
Enhance the look of the cooktop surface with sturdy construction that adds to their premium feel.
Full-Width Cast-Iron Grates
Enhance the beautiful look of the cooktop and allow easy movement of cookware around the entire cooking surface.
LP Conversion Kit
Allows you to convert the cooktop so it can be used with LP gas.
17K BTU Professional Burner
Provides the ability to use high-temperature cooking methods such as searing, stir-frying, and wok cooking as well as low temperatures suitable for simmering.
300 CFM Exhaust Rating
Handles the venting requirements of high temperature cooking techniques like pan searing and stir-frying.
3-Speed Fan Control
Can be precisely matched to cooking needs, effectively removing steam, grease, and odors from the air.
15K BTU Professional Burner
Reaches the high temperatures required to quickly get liquids to a boil and for high-temperature cooking techniques including getting a great sear on meat.
Convertible to Duct-Free Ventilation
Allows a downdraft cooktop to be placed nearly anywhere in the kitchen using a duct-free conversion kit (not included). This filters and recirculates the air without running ductwork, ideal for kitchens with installation restrictions or ducting limitations.
Melt Cap
Melt chocolate or butter, simmer delicate sauces, or poach eggs on a low-power burner, thanks to a wider burner cap that shields and diffuses the flame to produce a gentler, low-power heat.
Electronic Ignition and Automatic Re-Ignition
Lights burners with an electric spark instead of a pilot light. For more reliable performance, burners are relit if the flame is blown out.
5K BTU Even-Heat™ Simmer Burner
A diffuser plate allows more control of the flame at the lowest setting, for more precise simmering and melting.

The specs from Kitchen Aide are wrong! Had to have installers come back/pay $200 for them to cut hole bigger. Called KA and they said they don’t have anything to do with installation/could not reimburse this expense- seriously?!? Awful customer service experience. My first- and last- Kitchen Aide purchase.

Letters on controls rubbing off, but the worst is the scratching. It looks like junk because it scratches so easily. We loved the design, but would never buy again. Searching for a replacement pan, but cannot find. So disappointed.

I have had the cooktop for a couple of years and I really don’t like it even it looks like a solid product for two reasons. 1. The knob bezels are glued on the cooktop and can’t handle the heat. They all came off after one year use and I had to re-glue them on. The bezels are plastic with a layer of silver paint. After a couple of years, the paint came off too and now they are just white plastic rings as you can see in the photo. 2. It’s a design issue. Once you turn on the fan, the fire flames are all drawn towards to the center of the stove. The fire becomes so uneven and the heat power goes down. I don’t recommend the product at all.

I bought this a month ago after searching over a year for the perfect replacement for my old Jenn Air. I am so pleased with this new replacement stove top! I have a Limestone countertop so couldn't have anything less set into it. This stove top works great, looks beautiful, cleans up easily, and is made with sturdy steal knobs, not junk plastic that needs expensive replacing like my JennAir. The pads built into bottom so no expensive replacements their either and grates are one level playing field to move pots and pans across. This stove top receives compliments from anyone that visits. Adds value to our kitchen above and beyond.

A year after purchasing this stainless steel Gas cooktop looks like a cat got on it & clawed at it, cause the stainless steel around the burners are so scratched up. Mind you I take very good care of my appliances. I only a mild liquid dish soap, Seventh Generation and a cotton dish cloth to clean & wipe them down. This 36” 5- Burner downdraft gas cooktop was purchased on 06/11/2021 from NFM. This stainless steel cooktop looks as if I’ve had it for many years. Mine you, I take very good care of my appliances and have never used any harsh products to clean them, only use Seventh Generation liquid dish soap and cotton dish cloth to wipe down & clean my appliances. My other kitchen appliances are GE Profile brand such as my 4- Door Refrigerator, Built-In Double oven and Microwave are all stainless steel and have never had this issue. This Kitchen Aid 36” gas cooktop replaced my 2001 Jenn-Air 30” downdraft Stainless Steel Gas Cooktop, which never showed evidence of scratches. This Kitchen Aid Cooktop is a very CHEAP grade of stainless steel. Just poor quality and this cooktop wasn’t cheap. As of 03/25/24 had one of the knob plate cover’s come a loose from around the knob now have to see about getting that address. Apparently a CHEAP glue is used around the On/Off knobs for cooktop. This mess is rapidly falling apart. This product starts to degrade after the (1) year manufacturer’s Warranty has expired. After this experiences I will never buy another Kitchen Aid brand appliance. Extremely disappointed in the quality and workmanship of this brand, Cheap! Cheap! Cheap! I had previously owned a Kitchen Aid refrigerator that lasted 18 yrs before I replaced it with a GE Profile. Kitchen Aid brand has resorted to using Cheap material and yet sticks a pricey tag on them. Their Name brand doesn’t have the same reputation it had years ago.

I searched for a cooktop with a built-in downdraft system for months. Of all the cooktops I reasearched this particular KitchenAid was declared the best by many industry experts. After installing it and using it for a month, I can affirm the claims. It's functional, extremely well designed and built, and most importantly the downdraft system is amazing. It pulls the steam vapor and odors out of the kitchen really well. I'm very pleased!!

I have had my cooktop now for 12 months. I love the way it looks and the way it looks.. however I truly hate the stainless steel. I am constantly finding new scratches. From the day we bought it, I find that the least little movement of the grate can leave a mar. I am very conscious of continually cleaning it for fear that any “little” spill will leave a discoloration. I would never recommend this stainless steel cooktop... not for it’s functionality (which may I say is wonderful) but for the fact that you have to be overly vigilant that nothing touches the stainless steel. ONLY use stainless steel wipes or spray with a very soft cloth. This cooktop is just too much trouble.

I bought this a month ago and was happy to have been able to order it directly from KitchenAid. Home Depot and others were making it difficult to order. In some cases were unable to even order this unit. I installed this unit myself. I did not cut any corners when installing the unit. I must say installation was not easy. Many modifications were needed to make this unit fully operational. A couple of minor issues with the unit I plan on resolving with KitchenAid. Otherwise I really love having my downdraft gas cooktop.

We are replacing the original cook top in our kitchen (which was a 4 burner electric Jenn Air) due to a recent kitchen renovation. Because of the reno, we selected this 5 burner downdraft which also meant changing from electric to gas as the original 4 burner was electric. We LOVE our new gas cook top. The downdraft has 3 speeds which is so nice having the selection of different speeds. There was very little transition from changing from electric to gas cooking. Cooking is fun again. Very happy with our purchase. Cleanup is easy and cook top works great. We did lots of research before making our selection and this is better than we anticipated. It's a win-win for us on this cooktop.

We purchased the cooktop as part of a comprehensive kitchen renovation. We were limited in choices as we were replacing a downdraft electric cooktop. After shopping for a while, we felt the Kitchenaid represented the best bang for the buck. Since installation, we couldn’t be more pleased. The product looks and performs great. We really like the multi speed downdraft fan, the varied size of the burners and the contiguous grates to accommodate larger cooking vessels. The only minor issue was the fan worked almost too good. On the smaller burners, we have to wait until lit before turning the fan on as it can interfere with the lighting of the burner.

I just moved into an older home where all the appliances were not working, out of date or just plain dirty. Began to research replacements and found how hard it was going to be to replace my gas downdraft cooktop. KitchenAid did not disappoint me at all. I love my new cooktop and have always trusted KitchenAid's reliability and quality. Thank you for rescuing me and making one happy Grandmother who can now enjoy cooking with my 5 grands this holiday season!!! It's a tradition I will never break :)

I bought this a month ago and I’m so happy with it! It’s beautiful and so easy to maintain. I have been cooking my brains out since it was installed. I love the 5 burners and the down draft works excellent! I’m just about to start dinner now and I’m excited to use my new cooktop for it!

I had this only 2 years and the bottom trim rings have all come unglued except one. Some of the knobs have become deformed due to the heat. Kitchen aid meant quantity before. Not anymore.
Rodean2502/16/2024 08:43 AM
The cooktop has burners that range from 5 BTU to 17.5 BTU to provide rapid cooking and boiling. The downdraft if quite strong without distorting the flame. Gorgeous with great grates. Hard to clean the switches. Stainless surface cleans easily with Simple Green or Affresh cooktop cleaner.

Very poor wuality of steel base and very rough grill supoorts. While cleaning and lifting grill if grill touches the plates it makes scratches on the stainless steel plate. Customer service did not help upon calling. They were not ready to accept the facts even after sending them pictures. I am totally disappointed in the Kitchensid brand and quality. I will strongly recommend not to buy
Ketan09/11/2018 11:19 PM
The knobs are misaligned with each other & the control panel markings. The one for the fan is fine, but the 4 gas control knobs are crooked & all pushed off the the right by about a quarter inch. It seems the gas manifold inside the cooktop may have been assembled in an incorrect position and/or the holes through the stainless steel top were cut off center. I didn't realize this until install was pretty much completed, when I pulled off the protective yellow tape covering all controls. This cooktop should not have shipped from their factory. Clearly no QC checks going on. One of the fake chrome trim rings under the knobs, which are taped on, already let loose so that's not encouraging either for long term. Very disappointed that I may have to uninstall. If KitchenAid resolves this I will update.

We had this installed 1 week ago and this morning while cooking, 3 of the burners spontaneously cracked.

I am so disappointed in the stainless steel with this cooktop. This is how it looks after being cleaned AND wiped dry with a rag. I've tried everything, including just soap & water and it always looks a mess. Also, the rings affixed to below the knobs are loose. So sorry I bought a whole kitchen of KitchenAid appliances. The fridge SS is hard to clean as well but not as bad as the cooktop. You can't have the downdraft on while cooking either. It sucks the heat/flame down with it. So disappointed!

I am disappointed in the workmanship of The down draft feature of this stove top. I have cut my hand several time wiping the down draft spot of this stove. There is a very sharp piece of metal almost like raw sheet metal inside the area. There needs to be some finishing of that it is dangerous it cut the top of my hand by a vein which took a very long time to stop. Also the filter screen just sits in the hole !!!!!!! There is no bracket s to hold it in place it just flops around in there!!!!! Did this unit not get finished during production???? Its installed and I'm trying to figure out a way of fixing the sharp metal so I don't sever my fingers off. ( yes its that sharp)

I finally gave in and replaced my old cooktop. Since my old cooktop had a downdraft vent, my choices were more limited. This cooktop is really nice! The five burners is an upgrade for me from four. Even though the granite counter had to be cut slightly to accommodate the size, it was well worth it. The cooktop is very easy to clean. And the vent cavity is large enough to be able to easily clean. Another nice feature is the solid knobs which have a very high quality feel. The smallest burner has an interchangeable part to allow low heating of chocolate sauce dr similar ingredients which are easy to burn.

I needed a 30" downdraft cooktop to replace a 22 year old Jenn-Air model and this fit the bill. It was a direct drop in replacement. I did switch from electric to gas but the counter cut-out was fine. I also had to make some minor exhaust vent changes. This unit has a 6" exhaust but my vent is 5". I placed a reducer on the unit and plumbed it into the existing exhaust with a couple of new elbows. The supplied air filter is about 1 inch short of covering the entire exhaust. I was also missing two screw on one corner of the chassis. Just an oversight by the assembler. It is pretty easy to turn on the burners when you are cleaning it, so wipe gently. The fan noise is less than the old Jenn-Air.

This Cooktop is a very sharp look in stainless steel. Purchased online from BestBuy and the installation with Geek Squad was seamless and efficient to schedule. Downdraft was needed to replace expired cooktop and tend to be hard to find. This downdraft fan has great extraction capacity and has adjustable fan speeds. The burners light up quickly and cook much more evenly than my old cooktop. I am really pleased, and it is a great investment. Knobs seem sturdy and easy to clean. Very pleased, also purchased a 5 year warranty to ensure we remain happy for quite some time!

Great downdraft cooktop. Installation very simple and easy for DIY, and also a really good way to understand how everything goes together. Replaced a 30" GE cooktop while replacing countertops. The different burner sizes provide excellent overall heating. I can "feel" the heat from the burners, so the heating intensity is excellent. We like everything about the usability and the 5 burners. The following are things to be aware of: 1. The two screws provided to secure the cooktop to the countertop are not long enough. I used clear silicone that I placed on the countertop cut out and set the cooktop on top. Very secure, but will still reach out to KitchenAid to see if they can send two longer screws. 2. Since this was a retrofit, I had to connect the downdraft exhaust to an existing 5" duct. In this case, I would recommend ignoring the "duct design", because it would be a MAJOR job to rip out existing ductwork. The fan connection is 6", and the fan is easy to rotate to get an angle that works. I used a 6" to 5" reducer and two 90 degree adjustable elbows that I purchased from Home Depot to make the connection. I had to trim the existing 5" vertical duct below the cabinet floor to get it all to fit. Bonus: Used peel and stick vinyl flooring to make a nicer cabinet floor. Multip speed exhaust works just fine with this installation. 5" exhaust duct drops into the basement ceiling below with an elbow to the outside wall, so not that long of a run. 3. We have a few scratches on the edge of the stainless steel which I believe came from taking off the heavy grates during cleaning. Not sure if there is a way to avoid this, but probably inevitable with stainless. No regrets, and would buy this again!

Cooktop has been installed and looked good for the first few days only. Within less than a week, it got quite a few burn marks and other similar marks from just doing normal cooking for a family of four. We have tried all expensive and recommended stainless steel cooktop cleaners to remove these stains and marks, but to no avail.
