30" Built In Microwave Oven with Air Fry

• Purchased as a replacement for a 15-year-old GE Profile unit. First for the not-so great stuff : be aware that this requires a 220 line, which was not mentioned when purchased causing a delay and additional expense for installation. Product arrived with a display issue (see photo). Lowe's offered to replace but the unit is on backorder. Repair service came out right away, but replacement part is also on back-order with no ETA which is probably common for newer models. Unit had to be re-booted this morning as some functions were locked out - power cycling resolved. As others have mentioned the clock does not stay on, suggest making this a setup option in future software releases. The volume is very faint even at max setting, not sure if this could be addressed. Unlike older designs, the handles no longer have replaceable grommets. So if you don't like the red that comes by default, you can't change those out, you have to replace the whole handle. Both the microwave and wall oven have some sharp edges and corners where the stainless steel wraps around, not really a safety concern unless you have little ones around. Also like other posters, we never got the promised follow up on the included air-fry basket. Positives - very bright interior, clean, app was easy to download and install and connect to the network - which updates time and date. Connected to the network and downloaded the software update Took about 15 minutes to download and reset. Microwave was purchased from Lowe's as part of a full kitchen upgrade with Dishwasher KDTS324SPS, Refrigerator KRSC536RPS, Wall oven KOES530SPS, Cooktop KCIT730SSS, and Warming Drawer KWES730SPS and everything else has been great so far. Overall, KitchenAid is perhaps no longer the high-end band that it once was, but it's a solid choice if you want a clean, modern look. We compared with GE Profile replacements which would have been significantly more expensive. Very happy with the aesthetic, the Lowe's sale price was quite good, came with free installation and 2-year warranty, and so far, Lowe's and KitchenAid/Whirlpool have been easy to work with. Am sure this display issue will be resolved!

• Purchased this to replace a 2010ish Kitchenaid microwave/convection oven. Size is a little smaller, creating a gap to be filled (OK, can do that). You open the oven, put a dish in and press the quick start and it says please open the door and add your dish???? The old oven was our kitchen clock, but as noted by other people, you cannot keep the time displayed. And finally, why promise a free crisper for registration when in fact it never gets offered. Microwave works OK, but the logic on the touchscreen is very flawed. Picking an option for anything other than quickstart is a pain. Please provide a software update!

• I was trying to replace my unit from 2013. The new model is very different. The shiny interior makes it easier to clean. I preferred the menue buttons rather than the control knobs. Is there a way to keep the time showing? There was no users manual included. I am guessing the best methods to cook things??? Timer sounds are too soft.

• I do love it but there are a few things that I am not so happy with. The time does not stay on the screen, it turns off. Also it said we would get a crisper basket when registering our microwave but never received an email or anything for this crisper basket. So disappointed about that. Happy with the way it works is working great!!

• Microwave part is pretty easy to use. Wish there was an owner manual that explains how to use it to the extent that it is designed for.

• We bought this model as a replacement to a similar model 10 years ago as it is a built in of the same size. This model includes an air fryer too. And its $2,400! We have had it several weeks and cannot use it yet. The box was definitely opened and the unit appeared to have been removed and put back in. It didn't work either. Waited almost two weeks to have repair techs come look at it. Tech ordered new door switches so we will see if that works. Brand new unit too! It does come with a steaming bowl for steaming. It does come with broiler pan for broiling. We were really surprised it didn't come with an air fryer basket like all other air fryers appliances. If your going to market as an air fryer please start including the basket so it can be used properly right out of the box. No crisper function like our other similar model. Assuming we actually get to use it we are pretty sure the rotating dials is not a substitute for just making a selection button on the display. No time saved just continuous rotating to find what you need. I don't know folks. $2,400 is a sizable investment. Should have been great right out of the box! Not impressed so far. We will if it all changes once it works.
