We purchased this unit from a store that was going out of business. Finally we had it installed in our beautiful new home when it was completed and at that time discovered that the microwave was missing a couple of things first the bracket that supports it to set directly on top of the convection oven and the microwave plate. We made a brace for the oven to sit on but still do not have the plate

Engineered component part failed. OEM revised version replacement part cost: $256. New 1:1 replacement at Big Box Store that rhymes with 'rows' for $206. Niceley asked Whirlpool Custimer Care to make things right. They offered $50 after two months of back and forth. There are other brands to choose. Last time I purchase this brand I assure you. You can see we don't live in a dirt floor home...

I have had this microwave convection oven for 5 months and it is one of the best things in my kitchen. I’m not a big “microwaver” but the few things I use one for makes it a necessity and having a dual oven now makes so much more use out of the space used by a microwave. The microwave features in this are top notch...they have a quick start button for everything that I use a microwave for...popcorn, reheat, melt/soften and defrost...nothing out of the ordinary, just everything I need with one touch. The pizzazz is the convection feature...just incredible for cooking a smaller meal and not having to use the range oven. Don’t worry about microwave splash with heating grates on top. It snaps out easily to lower and clean (see picture). Great great appliance and so happy I went with this instead of a plain microwave.

I just Changed out my kitchen and went with all KitchenAid. I like that the company still makes some of the appliances in the USA. The quality of the microwave is ok but when the turn table is turned on it makes noise going around. The spinner spins choppy and makes bunch of noise. I had Technician out to fix it. It still does it he just said it was the plastic peace that spins the plate. It is easy change but is still doing it... for a 2000$ microwave I wish the turn table would work better.

My microwave was 2 years old and a code came up. Called the repair place and they could not get the part. They told me I had to get the part. I called KitchenAid Parts department and ordered it. It has been a year waiting for the part. My kitchen had a makeover and all new high end appliances. I spoke to a rep and they were going to see if we can exchange it because the parts are not available. They told me since it was past the year they will do nothing. Now I am stuck having to purchase a new microwave. Very upset with the customer service. I loved this microwave and I’m having a hard time having to make such a huge purchase again.

This built in microwave is the worst ever microwave for me. It came with my newly built home by Shea Homes in Chula Vista, CA. It is not user friendly and even worse that it is not the side opening door, so the door is all in your way from reaching things in the microwave, too bad I can't even get my kids to use this microwave unlike the one in my previous home. This does not heat up well, at 100%, it will take about 3.30minutes to fully pop a popcorn bag that says 1.45minutes. Another frustrating thing is that it is hard to clean when food splatters while warming, it's the worst cleaning experience trying to reach in between those coils which I am not sure one can remove to properly clean the inner roof.

I would love to use my microwave. Microwave does not function out of the box. Been waiting weeks for service and backordered parts. No one can tell me when it will be fixed. Kitchenaid refused return even during return window.

I have only had this microwave for 3 weeks, so I cannot speak on it's durability over time, but so far I am impressed! I originally was going to do a microwave drawer but just could not wrap my head around how "pulling out" a drawer full of hot soup would be clean and hassle free, especially at the exact height for small kids. I also didn't want a standard, over the stove, microwave. This is so beautifully designed. I have been complimented on it multiple times already! There are many features I haven't even tried yet but I am planning on digging into it and see what this thing can do! Buttons are easy to locate and get started. Design is sleek and modern. I put the warming drawer below this and love how functional my kitchen has become. This blows the awful "drawer" design right out of the water.

This appliance was purchased as part of an appliance package during our new house build. We didn't realize the "microwave" was going to be a duel purpose microwave with convection. The door on this microwave pulls down instead of opening from the side. Because it is installed so high - above the oven - it is hard to remove hot foods out of the microwave. We are average height adults and we have to reach up OVER the opened microwave door. It is VERY concerning about the safety of removing hot liquids/foods in an awkward position (having to reach UP and OVER the door). We will probably be replacing this microwave.

I waited 1 1/2 years to get this microwave with all the extra features. Was anxious to try the easy convect, steam and crisp features…Not a single bit of information on using the product is included or available on the website. It is no more than a low powered microwave without instructions on use for an astronomical price. Comes with extra pieces but no guidance on using the steamer, the crisper or the baking sheet. Kitchen Aid should be ashamed for not providing instructions and some recipes so that the product can safely be used to its full potential. If anyone has found anything helpful I would appreciate any references or recipes. It is completely useless without a real instruction manual. I need more than how to install it and how to add a minute to the microwave feature. No one can afford to waste food by experimenting with no guidance!

The microwave was installed on December 20, 2024. On January 12th, while baking a bread in the microwave I have received the Error Code F6E8. The microwave as of today, January 23rd has been unfunctional, and because the part could not be expediated to my home, I do not have a planned installation till February 4th. On top of this, my brand new oven was shipped with a broken glass, and as of today it has not been fixed. And no idea when our local appliance dealer will get the correct part in. I feel my local appliance dealer has let me down with the entire purchase of the KitchenAid line, and they have handled the entire sale poorly.

Brand new out of the box it would not start. Installer couldn’t figure out why. I called an electrician who discovered the door was not engaging one of the switches. If we mashed the left side of the door it would engage the switch and sometimes it would finish heating. Other times it cut off again. Then it started randomly throwing up an error code. After resetting it would run for ten or fifteen seconds and then throw the code again. Next day it might or might not work for a while. Sent an online service request and a technician came out and ordered replacement switches and housings. Said it will take a week. No excuses for this to happen with a brand new $2200 appliance.

Just installed my new appliances. Had to retro fit due to upgrade from a basic less than builder grade Frigidaire product. I wanted the convection microwave due to standard oven, then found this SMART Oven which is going to be fun to use the attachments when they come in. So far the microwave was easy to install but make sure you have the correct AMP since this is convection when you upgrade. I LOVE the Black Stainless. It also comes with extra attachments such as crisper, convection mat, and baking tray. Slightly pricey but worth it with the added attachments. I cooked cut and bake cookies in less than 15 minutes from turning on the oven. Lightly crisp edges and chewy......great with milk to celebrate the christening of the install.

I’ve had my microwave for two months now. It has never worked. Instead of replacing it, like any other company would since it’s a product that has never worked, Whirlpool has decided that this has to be covered under the warranty. A tech has come our to look at it and there is a part that is on backorder that I’m waiting on. They haven’t given me a date for when that will happen. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I’ve ever experienced. If the microwave ever aorks, it might be great but I would never get a kitchenaid product ever again because their customer service is terrible.

I purchased this microwave in November 2020. It was out of stock, but finally delivered 2 months later and installed. However, it could not be turned on because the interlock was broken. A service company promptly came out (only 4 days!), but the part must be ordered. That was 5 weeks ago. Still no part and I am not able to even turn on the microwave to be able to write a review about my its wonderful features. If you want/need an appliance anytime soon, try another brand. I ordered 4 major appliances in November -three and a half months later - only two were delivered and only one of the four is installed and working.

I read all the information in the brochures for this microwave online. Nowhere did I see mentioned that it required a 220 line. We were moving along having installed the wall oven, thinking we could just slide this in and go. Imagine our surprise on opening the box at seeing a 220 line instead of a plug. That made the installation a lot more difficult. The installer had to run a line up from the basement through the wall. Also had to go to an electrical supply house to get a circuit breaker wire and connectors. As for the microwave itself. It would be nice if there were more demos on how to use the features. One negative- the interior of the microwave is stainless steel. Food splatters leave spots that do not come off like they do on a plastic lined microwave

I finally got the microwave of my dream. I enjoy the solid design and love the product. However I got a red tray along with the microwave. Ok I look at the bottom and it faintly shows a symbol for microwave. I put in a few chicken nuggets and use the heating element. The tray just melted. I am so disappointed.

This combination microwave and convection oven is absolutely fantastic! You can cook a whole casserole or pan dish in the oven mode without heating up a wall oven. Excellent product!

I purchased the build in microwave with a trim kit for a 30 inch opening replacing an old kitchenaid unit. the description indicated it would fill a 30" cavity with the trim kit included. Completely misleading description as I now have a 1.5 inch gap at the top of my kmbs104ess02 unit. kitchenaid customer service and kitchenaid part were not help at all even though their product description was completely false. This unit does NOT fit in a 30" cavity as described. I am very disappointed and received NO help from the manufacturer.

Excellent performance. Sleek design. Just love the blue inside.

I recently replaced a Fisher and Paykel microwave because it was underpowerd and then it quit working entirely when I used the convection part. Sadley, I bought Kitchen Aid KMBP100ESS to replace it. I would NEVER imagined Kitch Aid would make a large built in microwave that is a 900 watt. Not only that but it did not come with a manual. I am 80. I cannot figure it out myself. I lookd for the tag on the inside where they usually are found. but no, it is on the UPPER RIM of the door opening. Usually, I just take a picture of the tag so it is handy. There is no way I could get a good photo of that tag. The serial number is not on my paperwork.

I have had this microwave/convection oven for about 7 months. I ended up with this oven after the previous model was a lemon. I like this one much better because it is much quieter. You can hardly hear it when it is on. I would definitely recommend the extended warranty. I am not a believer in extended warranties, but based on my experience with the first microwave, I decided that it was a must. They are expensive and I didn't want to take a chance of having issues with it without the extended warranty. Really enjoy using this microwave as a convection oven. Takes no time to preheat and does a nice job on biscuits, pizzas, etc.

I have really enjoyed the steam feature, it cooks salmon, shrimp and fresh veggies to perfection. I made the best cheese toast in the Convection Oven, and the crisping pan delivers tasty hamburgers. It's easy to use and it does a wonderful job defrosting food. The only thing I would change about it is the handle, but that is just cosmetic. The Microwave and Convection Oven Work Great and make it a pleasure to cook.

I recently installed the KMBP100ess and when it came to attaching the frame to the the kitchen cabinetry a 3/4" flat head screw was supplied but not a plastic washer that allows the screw to fit the hole in the frame of the microwave. I called Kithenaid customer service and then Repair Clinic and neither could be of help since the washer is not a listed part? But the Repair Clinic Youtube installation video definitely shows the washer being used. I am sadly disappointed in this obvious error by Kitchenaid. My wife has only started to use the product so I cannot make any other comments at this time.
