We chose KA appliances for the kitchen in our new home. They have been installed for approximately 3 months, though I have only been cooking on the range for 1 week, since we have just started living in the house full time. I am a cooking enthusiast and bread baker. I have cooked on all 5 stovetop burners, to verify performance/confidence testing, including using the griddle accessory. We also purchased the wok ring, though I have not used it yet. A nice feature to have, as I do use a round bottom and a flat bottom wok frequently. In my previous home, I had a much more expensive professional cooktop, which I was happy with. When we built this home, we lived in our weekend place, which had a 30" range (from another manufacturer) and I found it to be better than adequate, thus. deciding the excess and cost of the larger range was not necessary. We also have a KA counter depth French door Refrigerator, a trash compactor and dishwasher. We built this home with Made in America products [as much as possible]. Love those ‘America’ badges on the appliances. For the bread baking, I have made Beautiful Burger Buns (KAF), using the oven proof cycle for 2nd rise. I did find the bake time was a bit longer than in my other gas convection oven. Worked well-be sure to cover your levains with plastic wrap, rather than a tea towel, to prevent drying. The heat of Proof feature is low enough to use plastic wrap. For my second bread-Sourdough, baked in a Dutch oven. Fantastic result! Same time to bake as in my other gas range oven. 450deg for 40 minutes, covered, then 10 minutes additional with lid off. I used the baking drawer to keep a casserole warm during cocktail hour and found the drawer to be very useful. It is low profile for low side baking dishes/pans. Do a fit check with your pans before use. I am ok with the cleaning feature, which does not use excessive fuel/heat. I tend to cook clean and use an outdoor grill and smoker for spattering type foods. Wiping the oven interior after use keeps it easy clean, while food spatter hasn’t baked on too much. Three things I would like to have capability for: 1. Double burner for wok cooking, which my husband thinks modification of existing high output burner may be possible. 2. A lid for the griddle, to be used to contain heat and enhance melt when making stuffed French toast or grilled cheese. I grill mine open face, then stack to serve. 3. WiFi probe and timer alert. All things considered, I am glad we chose this range. Great value and performance!

Looks great, seems like it will be great …. The baking drawer does not close completely based on a design flaw that there is a box cover at the rear of the drawer area that prevents the drawer from closing completely - there is literally a gap between the ‘seal’ and the face of the oven cabinet. Kitchenaid - Is this safe to use? Will the heat damage the oven drawer? I expect way better.

We got our new gas stove and it looks great, however after one time use the burner got discoloured. These spots look awful and can’t be cleaned. It looks like the paint gets affected by the heat? The discolouration is both on outside and inside of burner. It looks like we have an old uncleaned stove in our brand new kitchen! We see alike spots appear on all other burners as well... Is this discolouration normal? Very disappointed about the quality of these burners.

This is not the KitchenAid product I am accustomed to using. I was replacing a KitchenAid Convection oven, one of the first on the market, which I loved every feature. I was excited because it was going to be KitchenAid quality and an American made product. The function and design are not as expected or advertised, not even close to my former electric range. The self-cleaning oven DOES NOT WORK for me – even after 3, 4, even 6 attempts. The walls and ceiling do not come clean. Per the customer rep via phone call, one must get on hands and knees to reach the sides, back and ceiling walls to scrub – and I mean SCRUB - with an eraser sponge pad. She did state a ceramic cleaner may be used. The manual states only the sponge and a plastic scraper. This took me over 6 hours! And it’s still not clean. It is nearly impossible to adequately scrub around the elements at the top of the oven. The manual states that the porcelain quality is such that OTC oven cleaner cannot be used. Why one would ever want to go back to that method of cleaning baffled me…until this experience. Now I wish I could use it, but the unit’s materials eliminate that option. Elbow grease is the only thing – pre 1935, what era are we! Be sure to have a slop bucket for the wet towel “mess” removing the excess water from the oven pan. That is what AquaLift Technology did for me, there is no “Self-Cleaning” to this process. My original unit required a light wipe down of ash and I was ready to bake again in 20 minutes or less after the cycle. I should also note that the right side of the oven will heat up my cabinets, more so than the left. It is as if there is not a tight seal around the unit. The service rep said it is to manufacturer’s standards and does not warrant any corrective action. I would never have made the purchase if I had known about these issues. She sure looks professional but fails epically, in my opinion. Perhaps this review will help you be more informed. Here are some other features that will be important to know to help if you decide to purchase: • The position of oven control panel causes accidental canceling or starting functions. Be careful while using the cooktop and oven at the same time. Your oven or timer settings may likely be lost during the cooking process. • Long preheating time (>20 minutes) for oven. Remember to add this extra time to your project. • Long cool down time with fan running for hours after oven is off. Hope you don’t mind extra noises once the kitchen is closed. • Timer is faint and only beeps once per minute, not intermittently. I had to get a second timer that functions like most home cooks expect. Who knew my oven would require “accessories”! • Timer programming requires a special sequence to prevent changing the oven temperature. The timer must be tapped off before adding more time or the oven temperature is adjusted by default. This not identified in the manual. It was a head scratcher. • Convection Bake in automatic mode will cause the oven to shut off when the timer goes off. Be sure you know your food will be done in the correct time under auto conversion mode, otherwise select option 2. • Convection Bake no longer allows shorter time and lower temperature. It is usually one or the other, rarely both. • My former unit allowed me to bake 3 sheets of cookies at the same time without rotating for a perfect bake in 9 minutes. Now I can only use 2 sheets and at time and must rotate for a quasi-good bake in 12 minutes. And using 1 sheet at a time still requires a rotation. BTW, the temperature drops (approx. 25°) during the rotate so the cooking time takes longer. I no longer have the efficient professional baking experience that KitchenAid used to offer. This is a huge disappointment. • The lower oven should be considered a warmer only. It does not bake or brown well. I have many failed items (pizzas, appetizers, crescent rolls, etc.) that had to be moved to the upper oven once it was available. It does keep things warm (even when not on, BAHAHA). • The PROOF mode is a nice feature, but there is no temperature adjustment. • The Ceramic top runs hotter. There will be a new learning curve on timing and dial controls. • The Ceramic top design is not my favorite. The burners are denoted by dots which often look like specs of food debris. The rim has a recessed ridge that acts as a crumb and grease catcher adding to cleanup time. KitchenAid please go back to your gold standard of quality and performance. The features on this unit are not living up to your name. I expected better.

I just bought this range. I love everything about it. I just baked apple dumplings, in my old oven they were good but flat and doughey. I used the convection bake and they are perfect puffy and crisp.

I had a dual fuel range previously but recently got an all gas range. It is different than the dual fuel but I’m getting use to it. It is a beautiful range and looks high end. My center burner is really nice since it is oval and the grill plate gets more heat than my dual fuel did with the small round burner. Kitchenaid is my go to on appliances and Whirlpool is an awesome company. I highly recommend them.

We purchased this oven as a replacement for a 20 year old Maytag. We were shocked at the quality of this oven. We thought this would be an upgrade, since the technology and materials have changed so much over time. We found the grates crooked, workers fingerprints in the oven glass, between the interior and exterior pieces that will be there forever! There was an oven rack that was missing and we alerted KitchenAid right away, we got a replacement weeks later that appeared to be used. We spent $3000.00 on an oven and got a rack that was sticky and covered with grease! Not sure if this oven will last as long as the Maytag but definitely disappointing at this point. The display is very cloudy, looks as if the glass that was used for this oven is very dirty! We just purchased this oven in October. Not sure if we got an exception to what we thought would be a quality oven or not. Replaced every appliance with KitchenAid appliances and this is an example of what we got.

I would never image I had such bad experience with this range. The product was arrived along with my new home from builder, however, it doesn't works well at all. It trips every time when using the oven, one of the burners cannot fire smoothly, etc.. It looks like a defective product, I would prefer to exchange, and I learned from the kitchenaid production registration form, I can return the product in 10 days(the form is attached), but the customer service said they never heard such policy. I requested to escalate the case to the superviser, but never get the superviser pick up the phone. This is still not resovled yet. Stay away from kitchenaid!!!

We built a house and bought a suite of Kitchenaid appliances from a local appliance dealer who is well known and respected. I have two major problems with this unit. The aqua-lift feature is a joke. It does not save electric because by Kitchenaid's own manuel, you need to do multiple cycles to get it clean AND you must scrub the oven to a large extent with only water and a non-abrasive scrubbie. It's like scratching an itch with a feather. I clean my oven monthly and cook in it 1-3 times a week. It looks terrible after 4 years. Second, we use propane and that kicks down the btu's significantly. Check the spec's on that. It takes 20 minutes to boil a pot of water for a 1lb of spaghetti. I can never get a beef stew made in a cast iron pot to maintain a boil w/o the lid being on. Move on to another brand and don't be fooled into purchasing a range with a steam-clean feature.

I bought this back in September , I find that the stainless steal scratches too easily. The top burners & and top grate are already discolored (after a month). Besides that I need some more time to get used to the oven controls, but seems to be working as expected. I would like to know if KitchenAid has replacement parts for the burners and grates as the ones with my stove are poor quality.

We purchased this stove a year and a half ago (May 2021). Out of nowhere (not using the oven and in a different room) the tempered glass inside the door shattered. We called to see about getting the door fixed and replaced, however we were told that there was only a 6 month warranty (after being told kitchenaid appliances came with a 5 year warranty). No one will fix it and to replace it we are looking at spending an additional $1000. Do not spend your money on this stove or this brand. I'm just glad that no one was in the kitchen at the time. We have an 18 month old son and the safety concerns alone with this stove are astonishing. So disappointed.

I bought this oven 3 years ago when we built our new home. We had the previous model for 8 years and had no issues. The main problem with our oven is the top of the door is peeling. This started 1 1/2 years ago and I have called customer service twice. They said it is a cosmetic issue and not covered under warranty. My only option is to pay for a new door. In the meantime, pieces of plastic are still peeling off. Also, we have had problems with knobs accidentally turned slightly and odor of gas.
Lisa1301/20/2019 01:39 AM
The oven caught on fire right after I finished my brisket in it. I’d really be careful what you cookin this over given the fire risk.
Brisket Bob10/03/2024 01:47 AM
Speechless, flabbergasted, appalling comes to mind. How the heck did this pass delivery inspection? Anyone could tell the wrong drawer was in the unit when it was packaged for shipment. The drawer does not close, by about 1/2 inch! How about some salt on this wound… I waited more than a month to get the unit. I called to request a replacement drawer and was told I need to wait another THREE months. But, they offered a whole replacement unit in one month. So, I said OK, send me the replacement range and I will swap the drawer to avoid the labor of swapping the whole gas range. Nope, I’m stuck with waiting THREE months for the replacement drawer. Bad just got worse…
Frustrated-Gonzo05/26/2024 06:17 PM
All knobs have a plastic silver wrap and they are all coming apart and bubbling up. See the pics…. Super cheap and looks like a kids play stove
Jaeskel03/30/2022 06:48 PM
Got crap in 2 years of usage. Front gas burner got bad. & oven not working. Always showing. FEBO. Spend 500$ to fix it. But still it’s fix.
Nadi10/23/2020 04:40 AM
We bought this stove a couple months ago. It is beautiful and works great. However, we are very concerned about the safety and we're already thinking of replacing it. The large burner has a simmer feature and you cannot tell if it is left on. You can't see flame and there are no on/off light to tell if any burners are left on. Two times we have found it on in the morning (it was on over night). This morning we had smoke due to a melted plate. KitchenAid should have put a on/off light so you can tell if it is left on. Not sure what we will do, but we'd rather get something else than burn our house down.
Portland07/09/2018 05:42 PM
The stove top is great. The oven is AWFUL. It takes a long time to heat up and even longer to cool down. The entire time the range is running a LOUD internal fan is on blowing HOT air out into the room. It was unusable in hot weather, but could be used to heat a house in the winter. The fan also continues to run and blow out hot air the whole time it's cooling. (I timed it last time and it took 95 minutes to cool down from the oven being run at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.) I wish I had my old GE back. I never had any of these problems. I spent a lot of money for a "good" range and I could not be more disappointed.
Susie2809/17/2021 09:05 PM
I bought this stove last August together with a complete set of KitchenAid appliances for a kitchen remodel. I love cooking on this stove. The burners give you great power and control. Also the look of the stove is great. The MAJOR disappointment is the AquaLift self-cleaning system. Simply put, it does not work. I follow the instructions to the letter and at the end of the cycle there is some improvement on the oven floor but it does nothing to remove baked on grease and grime from the oven door and walls. It is basically useless and does not function as advertised.
TVLamb05/07/2018 04:59 AM
I am not sure why the Kitchenaid Engieering team does not FIX the plastic knob either by either replacing them with solid metal or a 500F heat resistant material? Customer service folks please do not write some generic response to reach out and contact us with your concerns, etc! Is this really an American company? Does the president and CEO of Whirlpool even READ these reviews or use their own products to make a design change to fix this issue? Very sad how this company is run now and what could be a great oven is ruined by it's weakest link and the inability of the Company to do anything about it!
LA LA LAND11/07/2023 10:44 AM
We’ve had this oven for two years along with the microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator, and they’ve caused nothing but headaches since we bought them. Tonight, the screen on the oven stopped working for the 3rd time right as I was preparing dinner! We’ve invested thousands of dollars fixing the stove, refrigerator, and replacing the microwave in just over two years. I normally love kitchenaid’s small appliances but but save yourself the money and try another brand. I’ve never had so many issues with appliances in my life. We’re going to be doing another kitchen remodel and you can bet we’re staying as far away as possible from these appliances.
Hcream04/19/2019 07:38 AM
I purchased this range and it was delivered today. The product description list as a key features a wireless meat probe which was missing from the delivery. When I called customer service they say oh no this is an optional feature. I sent the picture from the catalog showing it as a key feature not an optional feature. When I spoke to a supervisor she simply stated the same thing. When you spend nearly $3000 on a stove you sort of expect better customer service. Especially when your talking about a $30 item that’s supposed to be included. Won’t spend anymore money with whirlpool or kitchen aid
RonM196603/08/2019 01:30 AM
I bought this range seven years ago. I have called KitchenAid and written several reviews. Like all the other reviews I complain about peeling on oven door after one year. They wanted me to buy a new door for $500. Clearly door is not sealed properly because knobs get hot. And knobs can easily turn on without knowing and smelled gas before.
Bob01305/17/2023 09:01 PM
Buyer Beware! Do not waste your money. I used to love Kitchenaid. I had their entire large appliance suite for years and sang their praises. No more. I am so disappointed, and yes, angry. My stove top, on my less than 1 year old range, now has small rust spots. Kitchen aid calls that “cosmetic”. You know, you can put lipstick on a pig and it’s still a pig. Customer service sent out a repairman who told me the whole cosmetic song and dance. When I called Kitchenaid about it, all I got was the “scripted” response from customer service. No help whatsoever!! In addition, I told customer service the Aqualift system was not cleaning my entire oven. The same repairman told me my oven will never get clean with that system, that it does not work. Now, to be clear, I am talking about the sides of my oven and the back and top of the oven walls, the bottom cleans ok with the steamed water but nothing else cleans at all. It is a useless, poor excuse for self cleaning an oven. The customer service rep had the nerve to say, “so you are telling me you have never tried to clean your oven before now”? How rude! Of course I have! Bottom line, your Aqualift system is a design failure. The customer service rep also stated an oven that cannot be cleaned is a cosmetic issue. Really?! I told her that in my point of view it is a safety hazard. She read another scripted response and at that I was done. Clearly I was not going to get any assistance. I will never purchase another Kitchenaid anything and will tell anyone who cares to know, not to purchase Kitchenaid.
