• I am very disappointed with this cooktop. Burners weren’t igniting properly and we requested to change the cooktop cause this only happened after 2 weeks of installation. They refused to change it and only replaced the Burner cap. The grates are not easy to clean AT ALL. Immediately upon use they had grease stains and discolouration. Also the cooktop it’s self is very hard to clean. Bottom line never buy cause after 2 weeks it will look like cheap cooktop

• We chose all Kitchen Aid appliances for our new home and love each and every one. I’ve had so many other brands over the years that I wasn’t happy with. Now I can be assured that everything works perfectly. I love the individual burner grates that have the padded bottom corners, and the two simmer burners. Love everything!

• Overall rating would be 0 if I could leave that. This product is dangerous - BUYER BEWARE! We have had this product for less than 3 months in a brand new home. The knobs can easily be turned on by just bumping them. A service rep came out to review and said it is operating per specs. However, we need to go through our retailer who is supporting our return of product and KitchenAid has denied. It is an unsafe product, KitchenAid is on notice. We are not happy with this product. We now only put knobs on the appliance when getting ready to use.

• I actually really love this range top with the exception of the rings for the 20k BTU burners. It seems like a great idea to allow them to be removed for using a wok, etc. but after a little more than a year of owning this unit, the rings cracked and split from one of the quadrants of both rings. Now, I have owned this unit for almost 4 years and one of the quadrants of one of the rings have completely broken off. Based on reading other reviews, it seems like it is a design flaw that others are experiencing as well. If that design could be rectified, this would get 5 stars from me.

• This Kitchenaid Rangetop looks great and works even better. The only downfall, is that the stainless steel strip on the front edge scratches at any accidental touch of cookware or metal. If you are super particular about how things look, this will bug you over time. Otherwise, I totally recommend.

• I decided to get rid of my cooktop and go for the Kitchenaid rangetop. Of course it required cabinet and granite modifications but it was worth every penny. I did also look at the Wolf but in the end, wasn’t worth the extra money. First time I used this it was incredible. Night and day from the cooktop. It looks great online but even better in person. So glad I went with this

• This is a lovely cooktop with some big drawbacks. As many have reported the knobs are a bit scary. I'm 5'1 and as I lean over to clean behind the cooktop I have accidentally turned on a burner. I finally just removed the knobs when I clean the stove, however I do think KitchenAid should supply something, ANYTHING! that would solve the problem particularly for homes with young children. My other issue is not safety related but annoys me even more. It is impossible to clean the black enamel under the burners. Any grease just continues to spread. Even after repeated intensive cleaning and polishing there are streaks left behind. Even worse, we are an Italian family. Starchy pasta water sputters and spits as boils and has left permanent marks and pits on the enamel that look like rust and baked on starch. Try as I might, I can't clean them off. My last annoyance is the beautiful stainless edge trim that trap grease and crumbs where its edge meets the enamel. Despite the annoyances and irritations, I would still recommend this cooktop. I am heeding the advice about moving the wok burners to the back and I sincerely hope others start removing the knobs when cleaning and especially when young children are present until KitchenAid makes a limiter or a spring for the existing knobs to prohibit it from turning on by accidentally brushing against it.

• I got my 36” with a grill in the center. I had that option. I lost 2 burners, but that was ok! WE LOVE IT! And use it, even the grill. Was an excellent purchase and would do it again if I had to. Cleaning the grill was a challenge the first time, but now is much easier. One issue is that once in a while, if I am using the front burner ( the high heat one) and place it on very low heat, because I finished and want to keep it warm I get a snapping sound from the rear burner, like the igniter wants to light the back burner, and it gets annoying! Can you help?

• I selected this KitchenAid rangetop for my new townhouse. I previously had an 8 burner dual-fuel Viking Professional range, so I was concerned with downsizing in size and quality. After 3 months, I can say that my concerns were not warranted. This is a great rangetop and the simmer control is comparable to my former Viking stovetop.

• We just completed a whole kitchen remodel with KitchenAid appliances. I just love our new Gas Rangetop! I've had a gas cooktop before and I love cooking on a gas stove! This 6 - burner cooktop is wonderful. Lots of versatility. High fast heat or slow simmer - it can handle it all!

• Had this cooktop for just over a year and both front grates cracked. Tried to reach out to customer service and been told I'm out of luck since it's been a year. Called parts and didn't get anyone on the phone. Called and left my number to call me back, they called me after 11pm at night. I returned a call next day waited on hold and then left a number again so they can call me back, never got a call back second time. Now I'm stuck with this almost $4,000 broken cooktop that is only 1.5 year old.

• I would strongly recommend against buying that appliance from Kitchen Aid. It has a severe and fundamental design flaw that they will not recognize nor honor through warranty. We bought this cooktop ( KCGC506JSS) in December 2023 so that’s 4 months ago. The 2 grates that come with it each have a crack that is very similar. I called customer support and what I was told is that this does not impact the cooktop operation, so it is not under warranty. I guess I can put my pot directly on the fire and that is okay by their standards. Have a look at the zoomed picture to see the cracks on each grate: it is mind boggling to me that customer support resolution is for me to buy more defective grates from them. I tried to escalate to the manager and I got the same ridiculous answer which is: this does not impact operation so it is not under warranty even if this $3500 cooktop is 4 months old. This company not only does not stand behind its product, but also tries to justify a complete design flaw and has no regard for people safety: have a broken grate over a gas fire burner is certainly not very safe. I would recommend you stay away from this product that has a fundamental design defect and pretty incompetent customer support that has no concept of customer satisfaction means.

• We got this for our home at a $6000 upgrade.the burner plates cracked in less than a year. I can get a better quality at 1k priced cooktops. This is the worst quality I have seen. No more Kitchenaid products again.

• Nice stovetop however after a couple years both cast iron wok grates have cracked and broken off. Poor quality on the grates! Buyer beware.

• We bought this rangetop because we liked the styling. To our disappointment however, the porcelain coated grates bubbled immediately upon first use which is totally unacceptable and indicative of poor quality. A +$3K appliance should not have issues right out of the box!

• I bought this appliance about a month ago. It replaced a Viking 5 series that was 16+ years old. The fitting into the cabinet took some tinkering and left a gap underneath. Still waiting for KitchenAid to get back to the retailer about a solution. The appliance itself is OK. The front left and right burners have two levels of burner capacity. As such they must be connected differently to the gas line. Consequently, starting these two burners take a few clicks/tries. I was told it would go away in a few days but it is persistent. Considering its 50% of the price of a Viking, I am OK with the purchase. However, not extremely satisfied.

• We bought this 36" Cooktop 13 months ago. Three of the grates are cracked and discolored. When using the burners, the cracked grates make a hissing sound. It is now considered out of KitchenAid 1 year warranty. And the purchased extended warranty will not cover the grates to be replaced. In addition, replacement grates are not available for purchase. Very disappointed in the quality of this unit and frustrated that the part is not available for purchase.

• We purchased this as part of a Kitchen Aid kitchen for new construction. Extremely high quality grates and nice burners with a wide array of adjustments. The igniters are ok and we'll have to see how they stand up with time. Knobs and other external components are nice and function smoothly. A dream to cook on for those who are used to high grade commercial setups. It's not quite "commercial" with respect to the flames and burners but it is still pretty nice and at a reasonable price point. A minor drawback are that the knobs can be bumped slightly into the "on" position resulting in gas but no spark.

• This is a great cooktop...except for one key problem. The stem that connects the knobs to the gas manifold is thin and VERY weak. We've had this cooktop for less than a month and two knobs are already bent (i.e. they don't line up vertically and are difficult to turn). For such an expensive cooktop I would expect much heavier duty components. Especially considering how far out this cooktop sticks from the counter and the inevitable bumping up against the knobs.

• This rangetop has been a great edition to our remodeled kitchen. Having 6 burners to work with simplifies the entire cooking process. The burners ignite immediately every time and heat efficiently and quickly. Controlling the temperature is very responsive with the smooth rotation of the burner knobs. However, the only caveat is that the burners can be activated very easy so parents with kids use caution. Clean up after cooking is simple and quick.

• We haven't even closed on our newly built home, and when I came in to check on the house while the cleaning folks were in, one of the burners we're on. I agree with the other reviews on this website that the knobs are WAY too easy to turn on the gas. A simple brush against the knob and the fires comes on. This is very concerning...I will add a review later after we use it for a while. My recommendation is that Kitchenaid issue a service bulletin to correct this issue so that the knobs do not turn so easily (i.e. a push in and turn would be nice).

• The burner grate broke on this only 4 years after we purchased it. The replacement was expensive for just one grate. $110. I also do not like how the knobs stick out so far out. They easily are bumped and we have to always check that they are not on before we go to bed or leave the house, because I have found one on after having company over.

• Always wanted this specific KithcenAid Gas Range top!!! Looks great and function like a commercial high-end appliance. Did have one burner not lighting after the install but KA and the distributor quickly fixed. Very Happy

• This is a great range! I absolutely love it as it performs well beyond my expectations . . . BUT, I have a 18 month old and she can easily turn the knobs to turn on the gas and/or fire. Also, if you bump the knobs, it's really easy to turn on a burner unintentionally. That is the ONLY flaw of this range!!! If there is a fix for the easy turning knobs, please let me know. RT
