We originally purchased the same ice maker 5 years ago, but had to replace it after it was damaged by a power outage and following surge. We loved that ice maker so much that we replaced it with the exact same machine. I was originally hesitant to spend over $2000 on a luxury appliance, but it has been worth every penny! This machine can produce up to 50lbs of ice per day, which is nice when loading coolers up or entertaining a large group of friends. Every guest who has tried the ice comments on how crystal clear it is because the maker removes minerals, and produces solid cubes… unlike the odd shaped and hollow ice from commercially produced ice.

We searched for the right bar fridge for our new addition. We were looking for flexibility for storing wine as well as other beverages. This product was just the right fit! It offers functionality with style. The adjustable wooden shelves are perfect! So far, the operation is quiet and as promised.

Upon receiving the ice maker the delivery guys set it inside our home from Lowes. However, opening it wasn't easy. We found the instructions inside the ice maker after we struggled to take it out of box. Then to remove the small white knob to insert the filter wasn't easy. WE tried really hard to turn it and my husband ended up getting pliers to turn it to remove it.

We had this installed a couple of weeks ago and we are very happy with it so far. It is so nice to have ice always ready and also to have enough ice to fill up a cooler if needed. Our ice maker in our Kitchen Aid Refrigerator just couldn't produce enough ice and we were always having problems with it so we decided to try this and so far so good!

I splurged on this ice-maker. It was more than what I wanted to spend. I purchased it well before my remodel happened so my builder could build around it. My construction project took much longer to complete than I wished and when the ice-make was finally installed it did not work. Thank goodness it was installed right before the warranty was up. I had to have an appliance repair person come over to fix it. That appliance repair person is now on his THIRD trip to my house this week to fix it. I hope the third visit will finally make it operable but I am not holding my breath. I expected a lot more from a product in this price range.

I love this ice maker. It does make a lot of noise when dumping the ice.

I bought this Ice Maker in May of 2019 during a kitchen renovation and was very hesitant to purchase such an expensive appliance that was not necessary. To make a long story short the unit failed after working for only 4 months. Called Whirlpool Warranty service and a technician picked up the unit and made repairs which took about 3 weeks. The repair company suggested the unit be replaced since the entire compressor unit failed and needed replacement. Whirlpool refused to replace the unit and repairs were made by replacing the compressor unit. Well here we are about 4 months later after the repair and the unit is experiencing the same problem. No appliance that cost over 1,700 should break down every 4 months. Wish me luck as I go and make another warranty claim

Replaced a nice Uline after 5 years. First bought a Scotsman but came w a plastic door and no light, was so loud I replaced it with this unit. Pro’s: Good construction, makes ice non stop, much quieter than the Uline and Scottsman units. Con’s: The ice is the weak, soft ice which I do not like, it doesn’t stop making ice and the ice freezes up into large clumps just inside the door so it spills out a bit and you have to break it up. I am shocked at the cost of these units now and there lack of longevity for it just to make ice. But I guess comparatively this has been a good purchase thus far, 6 months into it.

We have only been using this machine for two weeks. I will say that the bin is always full, but I highly doubt that this is capable of producing 50 lbs per day - it took two days to initially fill. The ice is always wet, and the unit seems to constantly add water or generate excess water. I will say that the ice is clear and the machine is easy to use. It fits well under the wet bar counter, and it looks nice.My biggest complaint is that the sales material described the ice as '3/4" cubes', but what it really produces is 3/4" chips that are only about 1/4" thick. Our main purpose for an ice maker was for entertaining around our pool in the summer, but these chips won't last long in a cooler or a pitcher.

I recently purchased the Whirlpool 15” ice-maker to replace the GE Monogram 15” ice-maker I’ve had for 12 years. They are very similar in design, but one thing Whirlpool could change is to allow for adjustments (lowering & raising) the thermistor to control how full the ice bin fills with ice. Whirlpool fixes the thermistor in the high position so the machine is always filling to max capacity, which isn’t needed most of the time; just when entertaining. GE Monogram’s thermistor is adjustable.

I touch this Whirlpool Ice maker from Famous Tate (Tampa) on 10/29/22. It was installed by an installer of their choice: JMS Appliance Installation & Delivery. It started producing ice and stopped immediately.

I got this product installed on April. 16, registered it, and was running on fast ice, after removing the first 2 drops of ice it quickly filled up. We were excited, however, I pushed the fast ice button to let it run normally and soon thereafter the unit STOPPED RUNNING COMPLETELY. Had no power to it at all, after checking no breakers thrown and the receptacle was working, my dealer called ASI and they are scheduled to come this afternoon to check it out and fix if possible. NOT A GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION to call the Whirlpool service company in its first week of operation.

I bought this ice maker 2 years ago and installed it a year and a half later when we moved into our new home. The ice maker was working great until the pump went out on it! Whirlpool told me since I bought it two years ago that it was out of warranty since it only had a one warranty on the machine. Why would whirlpool only put a one year warranty on an appliance that is so expensive! Is that how much they trust that their products will hold up for only one year?! Whirlpool needs to go back to the drawing board on this ice maker before selling it to the customer!

Bought this to replace our old kitchen aid undercounter ice maker which is discontinued, and it is basically exactly the same, which I’m really happy about. I love the new features, like built in water filter slot and the cheerful sounds it makes when turning it on. I withheld a star because the whirlpool logo on the front isn’t perfectly straight. It’s a little sideways and looks goofy, and I would return it for a perfect one if it wasn’t such a hassle. For something this expensive, I would expect everything to be dialed in. :/

The 3rd one was the charm, finally got the model with the drain pump, but could not reach a Whirlpool service tech, after 4 attempts, to install it, so I did it myself! Fortunately I'm pretty handy and have my own tools or I would still be waiting! Another interesting fact "they no longer come with the standard filter installed, its optional!"

I purchased this icemaker from Home Depot online. It arrived and the first issue was that the detent switch for the water filter had popped out in shipment--something I had to repair myself; second and more major issue is that after professional installation, the icemaker does not work--water just runs and produces NO ice--completely UNSAT!

Arrived on time. Well packaged with no scratches or dents. This Whirlpool 15" built in ice maker, with pump, was replacing my GE Monogram that worked well for 12 years. The Whirlpool looked nearly identical to the GE with the exception being the handle. I was happy to receive the Whirlpool. It had many 4.75 reviews and I was excited that I would have party ice available for my guests that were arriving in a few days. The connection process went well and when I turned on the water supply there were no leaks. i then hit the on switch. Nothing. I checked my circuit breakers again nothing. I plugged the Whirlpool ice maker into another circuit. Nothing. I am not waiting for the Whirlpool to be picked up by the seller for an exchange. Unfortunately, the seller didn't have any additional stock so I am waiting for a replacement that is on backorder. Disappointed!!! I like Whirlpool products and look forward to receiving the replacement ice maker whenever it is becomes available.

Bought to replace my old Uline. They delivered it I think I'd requested installing the guys that brought it said they didn't do that. Got it in working worked great for a week and quit now I'm waiting for a repairman that's been at least a week already.

The water feed tube was missing. My contractor had to use old line from previous unit. Then the motor stopped working after 2 months. Very frustrating. Now I have to wait for Whirlpool tech and hope Whirlpool honors the warranty.

Bought for a new house. Ordered early so we would have it. Bought May 2022, installed Nov 2022. Icemaker has quit working in April 2023. Scheduled service repair thru Whirlpool online and have not heard from service repairman yet.

Although I bought a month ago it was just installed yesterday, March 2nd. It has made ice ok, however there has been a strange smell coming from it. Today, second day, is not as bad, but still there. I'm not sure what the smell could be. Maybe it's because its new and worked for 24 hours trying to fill the bin. This is the third ice maker we have put in over the last 18 years. We never had this issue before. The other 2 were Kitchen Aid, but this Whirlpool is identical to the other two.

Plugged in two weeks ago and now doesn’t work. Also tried several times to warranty desk and get put on hold forever. Still have not spoken to anyone. Retailer where purchased has run from this ad well!
