I bought this 15" wine cooler for a new home construction. It sat in storage for 4 weeks until my home was completed. I opened the container, plugged it in and learned that everything works great, except there is no coolant. Either it has a leak or it was never charged. The condenser works, the fan works, the display works, yet it is never cooler than room temperature. I could never get anyone from Whirlpool by phone, so after online contact I was instructed to schedule a service call for evaluation. It has been taken away for repairs--and never has even held a bottle of wine! Needless to say, this has been frustrating and disappointing. I am not impressed

Our trash compactor died after 20 years of service. We understand that wine refrigerators are tops on home buyer lists. So, for our own pleasure and for future resale we chose to replace the compactor with this fridge which is a perfect fit and it looks great . My husband couldn't be happier. He was gifted many wines for Christmas and loves admiring his inventory. We know Whirlpool is a respected name and we anticipate that we will be happy with our purchase for many years to come.

We were so excited to replace an old trash compactor with this sleek undercounter wine center. Looks great, functions great, but it is SO NOISY when running. It has a high pitched whine that drives me crazy. I've never had a brand new kitchen appliance that sounded like this. Very disappointing.

I hat 2 built in. 1 below the countertop and 1 under. Fit perfect next to my column fridges. Nice and quiet. Careful. I needed to hide legs without blocking venting. I used a black computer backplate strap on each unit

Summary: fridge broke after 1.5 years, on second repair company and $300 out of pocket to have someone even look at the unit. Full story: We purchased this wine fridge about 1.5 years ago. It recently stopped cooling entirely (won’t get below ambient room temperature at all) and of course it is just outside of the “bumper to bumper” one year warranty, but still within the 5 year “sealed system” warranty period. I was frustrated, but occasionally things break, so I went on their website to schedule service. It was $150 to have an authorized service company come to look at it. I spoke with the company prior to paying the fee, and they said it was likely a sealed system issue that would be covered for parts and I’d just have to pay labor. When the company came out, he looked at the unit and confirmed it was a refrigerant leak, but his company couldn’t work on the type of refrigerant (R600). I called Whirlpool, and they connected me with another service company, but wouldn’t do anything about the fee that I had to pay to the initial company even though they are the ones who setup the repair. I now have to pay another fee, so I’m at almost $300 to just have someone looked at a 1.5 year old wine fridge. I’m truly appalled by the poor quality and lack of customer service by Whirlpool. I’d highly recommend avoiding this unit and Whirlpool in general.

I generally never write reviews but wanted to in order to save someone the headache this wine fridge has caused me. I don't mind all the small details people have issues with (you have to really yank the door open in order to pull out the shelves) but what I do mind in my gorgeous new kitchen, is the horrible loud noise of the fridge. Whirlpool was great and had someone replace the fan motor, but unfortunately, it's just a loud wine fridge. If you have any sort of sensitivity to noise, do not buy this wine fridge, it will drive you insane and make you drink more wine, literally. Others reviews state the same issue and I wish I would of read and believed it more before buying. Hope this helps!

This wine cooler is okay but t can be difficult to get even normal size bottles in and out. I don't see anywhere that the shelf height can be adjusted. I probably would not recommend this unit because of this problem.

I just got my wine chiller delivered a few weeks ago and I love the sleek look of it with the blue interior lighting!

Works perfect and looks great along with my other whirlpool wine cabinet

We have had out 15" undercounter wine cooler for 6 years now...and after about 4, it started making a lot of noise. Recently, it has quieted down (we have done nothing) and still cools (max is 40 degrees F). We wish it would cool cooler, but it is sufficient. I was on this web site to see what a new one would cost...(more)...so as my existing 15" sits quietly in its place, I will just make note that I CAN still replace it.

I bought this about 4 years ago and it has been noise ever since. It seems that the compressor is failing. Looks great, cools great, fits well in the cabinet, however it is noisy.

You mostly want this to fit as many bottles as it says and keep them at the temperature you select, consistently. It keeps temperature exactly right and it looks great. But today wine makers use skinny bottles, regular bottle and slightly shorter, slightly fatter bottles. The room between shelves doesn't do well with some of the shorter bottles, so you lose a shelf. Champagne bottles will cost you some more shelves. But, take all that into consideration when you choose your size unit and you will be very pleased with it.

Overall, the unit is good and runs well. While some might complain about storage capacity, the unit is well designed for a 15-inch width. One design suggestion: it might be better to have more than one row have a taller height; it depends on whether you are going to have more than a few large bottles. The sliding shelves could slide a bit more easily than they do. However, since we don't access it every day, their performance is oaky for us. If you were to use a small wine cooler like this every day or several times a day, you'd might want to find evaluate other options as well. Very disappointed that in slightly more than a year, the door seal has failed. It seems like this should not be something that has an issue. With all the other refrigerators with magnetic door seals under the Whirlpool brand, it's surprising a door seal would be the first component to fail. You would think it would something related to its size. For now, we've had to empty the wine cooler and turn it off, since there is no way to keep it closed right now.

Purchased omthis unit 3 months ago when we were doing whole house gut and we were looking for some nice appliance to fill in space with. Installation is a breeze if layout of openings is correct and you have electrical outlet available. Chiller is quiet and keeps wines at desired temperature. Finish on it is fingerprint resistant. Light inside is nice and blue either stays on all the time or just when you open your door- your choice. Temp goes down to 41F. Great addition to your kitchen or bar.

We bought this 2 weeks ago. The install was simple and the unit looks excellent. It runs very quietly. We hope it will be reliable.

When we bought our housed, it had an undercounted trash compactor, which I'm sure was great before we started recycling most trash. Anyway, I bought this unit to replace the compactor. This fit perfectly and works well. It is nice and quiet. It has a really cool blue interior light. The light comes on when the door is open, or you can manually turn it on and it will stay on for 10 minutes. I only wish it would stay on all the time it looks so cool!

Great looking fridge and does what you would expect. After 6 months of use, I don't notice the low noise level. When the description says up to 34 bottles, know that getting to 34 is extremely unlikely unless you only drink dessert wines. Expect to fit up to 4 Cabernet bottles on each rack and no more than 3 Syrah/Merlot bottles (short and fat) per rack, plus 3 bottles sitting on the bottom level. I can make about 24 bottles fit at any given time.

HELP - had this installed this at 11 today and got home at 4 to non-stop beeping! Called Whirlpool customer service and lady was pleasant but useless - wanted to schedule a technician. Neighbor saw a black push button at the bottom of the unit, which when pushed, stops the beeping for literally about 60 seconds. Hope this is something silly with the install, but right now, i HATE this unit & wish i had my old under-counter fridge back!!
Did I mention it's a birthday surprise?10/06/2016 05:00 PM
I really like the Whirlpool Wine Center. It fit perfectly in the space the house builder had provided for it. I have walked by it so many times and have felt grateful each time that I now own such an appliance. (The only reason I did not give it an excellent rating is because Whirlpool makes a better model that has a two temperature zones built into it. Now THAT is excellent!) I am slowly, but surely, stocking it to the brim. Cheers!

I bought this two weeks ago, and the lowest temp setting is 41 degrees. I would have liked the ability to lower it just a little lower, maybe 39. Also, the molding around the door gets in the way of the pullout wooden handles on the front of the racks and will eventually get damaged if we are not very careful to open the door very wide. I would not recommend this as a first choice.

This wine chiller was the perfect fit and style to replace ours that lasted 17 years. After reading some of the negative reviews we were leery about the noise, but it has been quiet as a mouse! It looks great and is exactly what we were looking for. The fan that circulates the cold air runs continuously but we don’t even hear it. So far so good one week post install.

I purchased the 15” Undercounter Wine Refrigerator to replace a ULine that we had owned for 20 years. The Whirlpool is very quiet and performs as promised. I did discover that if you have red wine bottles that are fatter on the bottom, you have to store them in the very bottom of the refrigerator because they won’t fit on the shelves.

I enjoy my new wine cooler. I can put three bottles per rack. I like the fact that it beeps if you don't close it properly. The first time it happened I could not figure out where it came from. Great feature though. Slick design. But some new bigger wine bottles Don't fit. Please plan for one rack to accommodate champagne bottles.
