• Purchased from the Blue Big Box Hardware Store at the beginning of Quarantine (May 2020) and it's already failed (Sept. 2020). The top of the door and door seal are concave while the freezer frame is straight. The little gap lets in air and creates a large ice dam/icicles at the top of the inside of the freezer in front of the controls. I wouldn't accept delivery of this unit if the door is concave like mine is...

• Even on the lowest setting, my ice cream is melting. I thought the freezer was working the first couple of weeks, but it turns out that the temperature in my garage was so cold (50F), it was helping it getting by. Now that the outside temp is up to about 70F, It simply isn't working as a freezer.This freezer is bad by design. It completely lacks a condenser coil (the part that dissipates heat - see pic where one condenser line runs out and back under the fridge with no coil). The compressor has been running non-stop and is so hot to the touch that it is heating up the metal above to scolding temps. Even the factory insulation melted off the condenser line. Do not even think about buying this freezer. Absolute garbage. And the so called Temperature Alarm, does not exist or does not work, because the temp is maybe 30F inside (a jug of water at the bottom is barely frozen) and no alarm has gone off.

• Purchased this freezer 11/05/21 and it is now quit working. Unfortunately all the meat is spoiled which includes fresh pork, beef and my sons first elk that he will never get to enjoy. Whirlpool refuses to help at all with the spoiled meat. The freezer does have an alarm however you must open the door to see it. Please save yourself some money purchase a different brand of freezer.

• So, two years ago we bought the previous model to this one. We didn’t elect for the extended coverage (typically freezers don’t get a lot of abuse). That freezer died just over a year after purchasing. We bought the replacement which lasted 2 weeks before it died. At this point we have lost 2 freezers full of food in under month. When we called and asked for a replacement, we were informed that we would have to go through the repair process. The repair company said we would have to order parts, schedule install and then see if they fixed the problem. All told they said to not expect to be able to use the freezer for at least 4 weeks. On a 2 week old freezer???

• I never expected that I would see a repair bill to replace a dead compressor on a freezer that costs 50% more than what I purchased the appliance for... But I have. Not only am I out the freezer, but I'm out $400 in frozen meat for my troubles, plus the crazy high power bill for the last month where it was failing. I'm sure Whirlpool will try to convince me that it was simply a self-defrost feature, where it defrosted my food, wasted my money, and made an awful smell in my home while I was on vacation. "Temperature alarm" - Doesn't make any noise when temperature drops outside of acceptable levels.

• I purchased the freezer in 2016. Within the warranty period the control box went out. Lost a lot of food whichis not covered. They replaced the control and in April 2018 the control went out again. Since it was not covered under the warranty I did have protection plan with Home Depot which did cover the part. Lost some food but not too bad. In October 2018 the control panel went out again. It has not=w been replaced. Contacted whirlpool with no help or relief that this should be considered a lemon. Now all I can do is wait for it to go out again and it will be considered a lemon under the protection plan. Will never purchase another Whirlpool product.

• I've only had the freezer for a little over two weeks, but it's just what I needed to keep all my specialty flours and grains for baking in one place. (The garage.) I also keep my yeast, spices and fruit curds and chocolate ganache in this freezer. It freezes fast and I love that it has an alarm to let me know if the temperature gets too warm.

• I bought this freezer expecting a great appliance. It did not eork immediately. After over seven hours on hold with customer service nothing is resolved. The first rep messed upthe first service call. A technician finally got here one week later and doesnt know exactly what is wrong with it. They ordered a part and we wait...if that part doesnt fix it they will have to take it in and take apart the sealed compressor unit. I tried calling customer service again to discuss this but they disconnected me twice after leaving me on hold for almost three hours. I give up. This is the most expensive storage cabinet I've ever owned. I'm angry and extremely disappointed with Whirlpool

• This is a large freezer with plenty of room to organize contents for easy access. Love the bottom large basket for frozen bags of veggies, fruits, and other hard to stack items. I was even able to add freezer containers to allow me to separate beef, chicken, fish, etc!

• The one issue is that the very top of the inner door gasket is "sagging". I know, without a doubt, this will eventually allow enough air to leak in to cause icing. I am calling the supplier to see if they will address this issue since the unit is only months old. If I was taller, I probably could adjust it myself. But, not for $1000!

• We bought this a few weeks ago and love it!! We have a chest freezer and you have to pull everything out to find what you are looking for!! Love the different shelves!!!

• bought this in 2020, delivered 2021, problems began 10 months after delivery. tech said issue was a factory issue. 6 tech visits and it is declared non-repairable. issue began under factory warranty, but timeline went into extended warranty. AIG extended warranty offered 75% of purchase price doesn't include lost food as the freezer died 2x. Whirlpool washed hands of issue. no-one willing to help. last freezer lasted 38 years with no issues. quality of appliance is poor. not buying anymore whirlpool products if i can help it!

• Lock on door worked poorly at first and within a few days failed altogether. Repairman came five days later and indicated that a new door was needed which would take 6-8 weeks to receive. Another issue is that once the door arrives at our home we need to unpack, inspect and report any damages in shipping. If damaged we would have to report this to the repair company and a new door will have to be reordered, taking another 6-8 weeks. If it is damaged, it is our responsibility to dispose of the damaged door. What a hassle to resolve a defective product. This broken lock should have been discovered before this freezer left the factory.

• The freezer is vey quiet and keeps a temperature of -4 to 0 degrees on the middle setting. Great size and nice door compartments.

• We chose this similar sized freezer to replace our previous model of a competitor's make because although it was less than 18 months old, the intricate electric panel controls were never correct and failed often making it unfit. We had absolutely no help from the dealer or the maker and lost not only some food but several hundred dollars... but we made sure it would be recycled and NOT resold. We have always had at least one Whirlpool appliance in our home and we trust them to work as designed, and they do without fail. On the negative side; my wife is not completely happy with the door compartment design, but she is making it work well enough for us now.

• I bought my freezer in the fall of 2017. In the summer of 2020, it was defrosting and I had to have a part replaced (over $100). Now in June of 2021, it stopped running completely before I caught it. Even had I caught it before everything defrosted, it was a minimum of 4 days before a repair service could get to me. I'll not be getting a Whirlpool freezer again.

• Bought the freezer in August and in less than 3 months, the freezer has ceased operating. The over temp light came on without any warning. Did all the simple troubleshooting and nothing seems to work. Went online to see what may be the issue(s) and majority of results are saying that the compressor is the problem. I call Whirlpool and I get the automated response that no one is available and when I try to use the website to chat, I get the same response. Going to try them again tomorrow and HOPEFULLY they will fix this issue.

• Have bought Whirlpool all my life. Have had excellent results with their products. Chest freezer I replaced was 45 years old whirlpool & never did anything but put food in & take out. Still works great. Biggest problem was buying ahead & losing track of food & it freezer burning. Plan on new freezer being able to keep track of food. Keep it used in timelier manner. Will sure enjoy self defrost feature also. Appliance dealer I have purchased from for many years is planning to retire soon & sure will miss his excellent service these past years. Luckily I have needed very little service. Purchasing excellent products is main reason for this.

• What an outstanding freezer.... our last one failed unexpectedly and after checking around, we encountered the local Whirlpool dealer who recommended this line. After looking at all of the features this unit offered, we decided to go with it and could not have been a happier decision. This unit is very roomy and does it's work quietly and effectively.... within 6 hours, our items from the old freezer were back at a safe temperature and safely organized in our new Whirlpool freezer. Happily we now have an alarm that will alert us to any problems with temperature... never had this before.
