• We got this whirlpool microwave that came in with our new construction home. The microwave’s door doesn’t open even though we press the door release button firmly. There is no other way to open it. I’ve tried to setup a service appointment online and the page errored saying I need to call. I called the service number and was kept on hold for an hour before a rep picked up. The rep took my address, model and serial number without giving me a case number and put me on hold for another hour and ultimately disconnecting the call. The service is pathetic and the microwave is unusable.

• Whirlpool and general is so hard to deal with. This is a replacement microwave. The first one we purchased broke and the installation brackets and frame were too small. When I ordered a replacement microwave whirlpool assured me multiple times that we would also get a new installation kit that came with it and we did not. The only thing that was delivered was the microwave. There was no installation kit or frame so now it's just a microwave sitting in a hole in the wall. At this point I don't even want to call back to get the installation kit since Whirlpool is so hard to deal with and get a hold of someone

• This microwave came with my house that was new construction. Like most other negative reviews I have seen for this model, my door release button is wearing out after 2 1/2 months of use. Every time I press it to open the microwave door to put food in, it takes a long time to unlatch. I can feel the button depressed all the way with the latch not responding. It's gotten worse over time. With Thanksgiving around the corner, the timing couldn't be worse. This is the worst microwave I've ever had. This is obviously a poor design with this many negative reviews for the same exact issue. Is there a recall for this?

• I bought this microwave and the associated trim kit a week ago. I was replacing a 700 watt Wolf microwave above our Wolf oven. The installation was straightforward, but I did have to modify (make smaller) the opening because the Wolf trim kit was much larger. The power (1200 watts) is a welcome feature. It heats up things much faster than the Wolf. The only complaint that I have is that you cannot enter an number of minutes/seconds (there are no number buttons). Everything is done in either shortcut buttons (1 min, 2 min, etc.) or hit the Start button for 30 seconds and then hit the "+" or "-" buttons to adjust the time.

• This microwave lasted about three weeks after installation and then the button that opens the door broke. The good news: Whirlpool is replacing the microwave and installing a new one. The bad news: it's the same model. This is our THIRD Whirlpool microwave since June of 2023. The first one lasted 20 months and of course we were out of the 12-month warranty. Because our microwave is a built-in with a trim kit, we are limited as to what we can buy, so we bought another Whirlpool model that fit our space. But when this one goes, we'll look for something else and make it work somehow. What happened to Whirlpool quality??

• Microwave lasted about four months it actually stop heating, the company has replaced it twice in two weeks because the push button keep breaking, my last one was installed yesterday Friday and today Saturday, yes the next day, it broke again!! Terrible design, when it worked it heat up fine no problem.

• There is no clock button to set clock. Tried to find model number on whirlpool website and says no such model. They don’t give you manuals anymore. Worst company I ever dealt with. Have a new refrigerator also from whirlpool and runs so load can’t here tv. Called after waiting 20 mins and their service dept told me if the repair person shows up and cannot find anything, they will charge me a $125.00 service fee. This company sucks.

• Good size and reasonably priced, including the optional 30” trim kit. A full 1,200 watts, it is a great improvement over our former 1,000 watt appliance. The only thing we don’t like is the “keyboard” does not illuminate. Installed above one of our two ovens in a corner, it’s hard to read the buttons without turning on all kitchen lights or using a flashlight.

• This was a replacement microwave because the first one, that was part of our building package through Pulte homes, had a faulty access button/lever. This one lasted a few months and has now stopped working due to a broken access button/lever. I don’t even know how anyone rated this thing anything above 1 star. I guess because when it was working it did get the food warm?? Low bar but ok. It’s a terrible setup on top of the cheap button. Where is the key pad? We are civilized and are capable of choosing our own cooking time instead of some sort of mathematical formula that determines our cook time for us. Terrible product.

• nothing so good about the product bec i have already changed it twice still there is a problem with these products also the peach state appliance who came to install the product broke my cabinets and being rude to customers they are blood suckers and whirlpool has to sue them for damaging my cabinets while installing the microwave

• I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing! The latch broke the first time I used it. I will be returning it tomorrow with my son’s dinner trapped inside, having had it less than 12 hours. Incredibly disappointing and I have to drive another two hours round trip to return it. Never again, Whirlpool.

• I bought this product 1 month ago and it is already broken. The button you push to open this microwave will not open the microwave. You can push it in and it must have lost its spring or something. We got the door open to remove what was being heated. The door will not latch and the light in the microwave will not turn off. We have done everything required to initiate and replacement...we are still waiting.

• We replaced a 28-year-old Whirlpool microwave with this one about 3 weeks ago. The old one was still going strong, but we changed from 1990s white to stainless steel finishes. We like the butter softener feature and the quick time selects (1 minute, 2 minutes, etc.) as we mainly use this appliance for reheating meals or making queso. My only complaint is that the clock has a white light on it, while the oven and refrigerator we bought at the same time have blue lights. My OCD finds this to be an annoying, first-world problem!

• It is fine. Builder installed this one and wish we had upgraded to a different one. I don't like the way the cook time, and buttons work. Everything is in 15 second increments and there are only buttons #1 - 6 on it so you can't select your own time. For instance, you can't set cook time for 3 min, 47 seconds. When you push the cook time, it automatically gives you 15 seconds, and then you have to use the button to add up to either 3:45 or 4 min. Plus it would be nice to have a handle on the door. I hate having to slam it shut every time to close it. And the cooking cavity is smaller than the 2.2 cu. ft. it says it is.

• This microwave was installed by my builder. I moved in and it started tripping breakers. I waited for a month for a replacement and first time using it broke with my food inside - can’t get the door open. Now waiting another month for a replacement. Food still inside the microwave.

• I'm not sure if my understanding of our replacement unit is capable of doing an exact command of 45 seconds or such increments, like our other Whirlpool 1.7 cu. unit could or not. But it seems I could be ignorant, yet willing to be enlightened, given the chance. Now let's see if a non-AI, warm bodied, real life person responds!?

• We decided to replace our 26 year old Whirlpool microwave before it failed and chose the larger 2.2 cu. Ft one. It’s just great, big enough to do anything we can imagine for heating or cooking.Whirlpool has always been our preferred appliance brand , they last for years and the performance is second to none.

• We’ve been using it for about two weeks It’s a microwave it does what it’s supposed to I use the directions to figure out how to turn off the two button required to open issue no problem there For other reviews, I’ve know to be careful with the door. We put it in the cabinet with a trim kit in front so it looks like a built-in microwave, but it really is just a cabinet microwave It’s only a 1200 W unit but it’s large So far OK it was very expensive we put it in a cabinet with a trim kit in front so it looks like a built-in But it’s really just a countertop microwave 200

• Product is excellent. I wish you would have noted which trim kit fit this. I had to order twice before finding the right one. I was given the wrong information by whirlpool chat and was lucky that the store took it back. The big box stores would not take it back. It was out of stock so I was going to order on line but they said if it didn't fit I could not take it back because it was not on their shelves. I was running out of options. Luckily a sales rep at Best Buy remembered another customer having the same problem and was able to point us in the right direction.
