  • I am sure this brand of of refrigerator works most of the time. But I am also share that for every dozen units produced there is a bad one. I got the bad fridge A few weeks into owning the unit I noticed bits of iced accumulating in the freezer. It was barely noticeable at first--fast forward 60+ days later and the bottom compartment does not get cold and the freezer is an icebox! It's too late for me to return to the store so now I have to wait two weeks for a technician to come out and check it out. So, being adaptable as I am I've taken to ordering food most of the time or keeping it in the freezer so my food does not go bad!

  • I am super happy with the Whirlpool 24 in. 11.6 cu. ft. Top Freezer Refrigerator in Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Finish, Counter Depth. I am using this as a second refrigerator (which I desperately needed) and have it in my laundry room/pantry. It fits perfectly and is the ideal appliance. The fingerprint resistant stainless steel is incredible. It really does resist fingerprints. My refrigerator doors never look dirty. There is plenty of room in the freezer and the refrigerator. In my opinion, the cost for this appliance is totally affordable especially for the convenience that it provides me. The glass shelves look great and clean-up easily. The produce bin is quite large. I placed a thermometer inside just to make sure it stays cold at all times. Every time I check, the thermometer is perfectly accurate. I love everything about this Whirlpool appliance and I expect to have it for many many years to come.

  • It's only been a couple months but this is the best little fridge with plenty of space for it's compact size. Only pennies a month to run and super Quiet. I bought this because of my travel trailers smaller door but was surprised at how big it really is inside. There's no noise at all. It may not freeze my water bottles as fast as the larger models but it really does the job and keeps the ice cream solid. Keeps an even temperature throughout the fridge. Love the fact you can change which side you want the door to open from. Took about 15 minutes to switch it. The LED light turns off after a bit, but I'm one of those people who makes a sandwich right out of the fridge. So I just push the door switch for a little longer time or larger sandwich I should say. Totally frost free. An option for a 3rd door tray would be nice since I'm not a milk or soda drinker. These are real glass shelves. Plastic door trays & bottom veggie crisper. Easy push button temp selector with 6 setting, I think.

  • I needed a well-designed, easy to install, extra refrigerator and freezer. Seems perfect for what I wanted.

  • I will never buy another Whirlpool product! Please check the 1 star reviews. This model is a lemon and Whirlpool is well aware of the problem, but they don't care. It completely ices up in the coils which causes numerous problems. Water from the coils drips down into the fridge and collects on the shelves and under the bottome drawer. This causes food to get moldy. As the icing problem continues, it actually forcers the panel inside the freezer to bust out of the retainer screws and then pushes against the freezer shelf, which in turn forces the freezer door open. This just compounds the existing problem of icing up in the freezer coils. As it gets worse, the freezer and fridge stop cooling properly. Because of this, we have had our food in both the freezer and refrigerator spoil several times. We had this unit repaired under warranty, but the technician simply replaced the freezer seal, which was not the problem. When I tried to get Whirlpool to either fix or replace the unit, or refund our money, they refused and claimed the refregerator was out of warranty, (but the warranty is still good as long as the probem was reported during the warranty period since the problem was never fixed). It actually can't be fixed since this is design problem. Clearly Whirlpool purposely has terrible customer service. There is no phone number or email to contact to a representative about problems with their products. The only way to get in touch with customer service is through Facebook, and they don't advertise this. We now have to dispose of this refrigerator and buy a new one to replace it. It will definately not be a Whirlpool!

  • Please do not make the same mistake we made in buying this refrigerator! The one-star rating is for its size, which was perfect for our small condo. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked properly since we had it installed. Due to remodeling issues, by the time we used it the deadline for returning it had passed. A month after we started using it, it stopped cooling. Whirlpool scheduled a technician to replace the compressor. It worked for a few months and then water started leaking into the refrigerator. We had another technician dry it out to see if that helped. It did temporarily, but then we had to "dry it out" every couple of months to keep it from leaking. Recently, the refrigerator stopped cooling and the freezer is covered in ice crystals. From reading reviews from others, it seems like this is a common occurrence. We've been using the refrigerator for one and a half years, and we're on our third service appointment. Very frustrated that we're having these issues with a new refrigerator!

  • This fridge is just, meh. I hate the veggie drawer because it just flops out when pulled out, so you have to only pull it out about 1/3 of the way so it doesn't fall out. The freezer door sticks up about 2 inches higher than the body of the fridge, which I dont understand. I bought this online and got it specifically because of the size and because it said it was smooth finish, well, only the doors are smooth, the rest of the fridge is that weird bumpy texture often seen on fridges. When it arrived, it had protective plastic on the doors, well, when it came time to take that off, the plastic had been put on before the trim pieces so was stuck under and wouldnt come off, it just ripped. I had to cut it off with a razor blade, such a dumb thing. The temp control is very loose and is in a spot in the freezer where it is easily bumped so the temp gets changed accidently. I strongly dislike this fridge and wouldn't buy it again or recommend it to anyone if they cared about these things I mentioned.

  • I bought this fridge about a month ago, and from day one we had many issues. The gasket did not escalate the refrigerator well, and water puddled on the shelves. The freezer grew very large peaks of ice, and froze everything together. I think it was just a lemon. A repair came out for warranty repair, and was going to replace the door… but I insisted replacement for the whole unit. Whirlpool authorized a full replacement, and it took quite a while to come, but in the end, this new fridge seems fine. Of course I’ve only had it for a week, so I guess the justly is still out. Hopefully it will be fine. 🤞

  • I love the space. Comparing it to another fridge that size it has a lot more space. I love the fact that the shelves are taller and the doors in the the door section of the fridge is taller and wider so they can hold more things.

  • I purchased this refrigerator from Lowe's in April of 2022. According to the label on the unit it was manufactured in March of 2022. It sat unopened in my garage while I was building the studio apartment for which it was intended. I finally installed the refrigerator in March of 2023 this year, a year after it was purchased, when the apartment was finished. It is a handsome unit and worked fine but for only SEVEN months. Suddenly it made a buzzing sound and then shut off. It does this every 5 or 10 seconds and will not cool. From my research this seems to be caused by a faulty Start Device (part number W11350837) or CAPACITOR (part number W11652060). The start device is the mostly likely suspect but everywhere I look I cannot find this part. All the suppliers and the Whirlpool website says it is "unavailable"! This is really pathetic that a unit that has been hardly used fails, and the part I need to repair it cannot be obtained. I am very disappointed. I thought Whirlpool made a quality product but it seems that is no longer the case. I am especially upset that I cannot obtain the basic parts to repair a unit that in less than 2 years old and is still sold on the market. I do not understand why Whirlpool cannot provide the parts to repair their own products?

  • Dripping water from freezer to refrigerator part which freezes in a block of ice plastic container I put to collect water in order not to have my food ruined. I bought it from Home Depot and got three year protection from Alltrade, they just te me to unplug and clean it and plug again, also have sent a technician but problem remains. I want to have it replaced for a new one or my money reimbursed but don’t know who to talk to about it. Refrigerator came defective. I hope this helps to solve this bug problem.

  • I bought this a year ago and am having the same issues as everyone else- pooling water, freezer freezing up while fridge gets too warm etc. I bought this on the recommendation of consumer reports, but wish I had taken time to read more reviews beforehand. Total piece of junk.

    AliceC04/17/2023 11:47 AM

  • I purchased from a picture in reliable appliance store. Disappointment is white tape used to cover joint on top of main box behind door opening. The bottom storage drawer very difficult to use - plastic molding protrusions on drawer resting on main box floor.

    Seabee02/15/2021 05:56 AM

  • I bought it brand new at Best Buy . I was so excited bcos of the name but after moving. The fridge basically is not getting cold on the downside ( thought I was dreaming ) I basically threw away food worth about like $350 . I called the customer care and got with a lady on the phone who was very thoughtful and did have a proper etiquette and offered me $50 credit which I was greatful but completely felt stupid over the lost $350 lost of food item . And she offer to get someone on Monday which is far away from the day I’m available. The whole experience is ridiculous and unbelievable. That’s all I can say for now .

  • Requires defrost 4-5 times a year, Or you lose your fridge food. I feel so much better after reading reviews that other people have had these issues. We’ve had this French for five years and since the first year, we’ve had to defrost the fridge consistently in order to maintain its functionality. This requires us to move everything out of the fridge for a day so that everything is Thawed out. In the meantime, there’s a constant drip in the fridge so that your items are getting wet, and there’s a pool of water at the very bottom. Underneath the bottom drawer. It’s gross and annoying, but I like the size of the fridge for our kitchen, so we have dealt with it. I’m getting very very close to throwing it on the curb.

  • I already had a refrigerator exactly like this. My appliance insurance required I get the same one. The last one didn't last three years before it was dripping water from the freezer to the fridge. Not only do I not recommend Whirlpool fridges, but I definitely don't recommend this one. The only reason I got it again was so I didn't have to pay for a new one. For the three years it was working, it was cool. I Just had to use a takeout dish to catch the drip.

  • Do not purchase this refrigerator! We purchased this refrigerator August 2020 from NFM. The refrigerator seemed to work at first but then started to randomly freeze items in the refrigerator and nothing in the freezer. We finally got fed up and called for service in January. It took 5 visits to our house for the Whirlpool techs to figure out what was wrong with this unit. A few of those times they arrived with wrong parts etc. Issue ended up being a freon leak and a part had to be ordered. 6 months later the part had not arrived so I contacted Whirlpool again to ask them if they had any details because I was not able to contact the local company they use. Whirlpool was able to order the in stock part and send to the local repair company and was unsure why we had to wait so long. Another tech visit in August to replace part and reload freon. After that visit the refrigerator is functioning (exciting) but the freezer is still not freezing even a loaf of bread and is randomly making a loud humming noise. Called again for another appointment and this time the tech came out and told us that the tests show there is nothing wrong with the freezer and OUR HOUSE MUST BE TOO COLD FOR IT TO TURN ON! My home is set at 70 degrees. After this visit I called Whirlpool again to express my frustration as it has been over a year and I just want a working unit or a refund. They give me the only option to send the tech out again. I have attached reviews with the same issue. Clearly there is a global issue with this defected unit and Whirlpool is avoiding the situation.

  • I bought this a little over a month ago and from the beginning it didn't work. It ook forever to get customer service on the line. Several times I was on hold for well over an hour before I had to give up. I couldn't schedule service through the website because it wouldn't recognize the model number. Finally I got through to customer service, they said they would get a repair service to contact me in 7-10 days. Eventually I was contacted, then told it would be 3 weeks before someone would come look at it. By that point I will be 2 months with a brand new refrigerator that doesn't work. This is a ridiculous way to treat your customers.

    NotChill01/27/2023 06:12 AM

  • What worth does a refrigerator have if it is incapable of keeping products cool. I bought this unit a few months back and wish I would have kept the packaging so I could return it. Whether it's a leveling foot screw hole that was never tapped, a defective door seal spoiling all your food, or some other trash product brought to you by Whirlpool, I can assure you that you do not want to buy THIS fridge. I have now wasted a month of my life without a functioning fridge and tens of hours of my life listening to terrible music while sitting on hold with customer service and seen a lot a great moods destroyed by this companies lack of attention to its customer!. No part of this company cares about your satisfaction, or at least mine!

    YouHadOneJob10/14/2020 07:54 AM

  • Bought this month (Oct)and it works great and is just the right size for our family of 2. Satisfied of my purchase.

    Blueeyes212/24/2022 09:55 AM

  • Don’t waste your time buying this refrigerator model. I purchased this fridge back in October, 2023. After three months of use, the fridge stopped working. A Whirlpool technician came to check the fridge and found there was a problem with the compressor.

    Marsol02/03/2024 04:41 AM

  • Stay away from this product. It has been a nightmare for my initial purchase in the Summer of 2021. We have had two service providers come out to try and fix a leak into under the crisper drawer. Nothing got fixed. Now the condenser is out, it's not under warranty. I called Whirlpool and initially they agreed to replace it. The next day a representative left me a message stating they won't be replacing it. Whirlpool has some very unethical business practices. This unit should be replaced as this is a manufacturing defect, not a general use issue. I would never purchase a Whirlpool applicance again. Stay away from this product.

  • Love wet, ruined food? Then look no further- this is the refrigerator for you. This is the worst possible refrigerator money can buy. Might as well buy a cooler with a ice pack. The coil is located in the freezer and cools the refrigerator by means of a mechanical blend door- doesn't take a meteorologist to figure out that a warm area and a cold area creates condensation and the blend doors make it rain water on all your food. I would like to meet the engineers that created this useless machine and offer them a old cold cup of coffee for all their hard work. Honestly the engineers must have graduated bottom of their class. The solution to this problem is having a bowl catch the water and dumping it out every day.
