Extremely Disappointed — New Is Definitely Not Better I recently had to replace my 30-year-old Whirlpool oven, a day I had been dreading for years. I went into the store with exact measurements and made it very clear that I wanted the most basic oven possible because I have a very tight space. I was told all ovens are “standard sizes.” Well… no. When the installers arrived, the oven slid in just fine—until they tried to open the door. It turns out the new oven is 1/8 of an inch wider. That tiny difference now means I have to open the refrigerator door before I can open the oven door. Seriously? Why would you make modern ovens slightly wider when so many people are replacing 1990s appliances? I can’t be the only one. Now let’s talk about usability. The preheat and timer alert is the strangest alarm I’ve ever heard—barely audible and it doesn’t repeat. And the buttons… why so many buttons? Cook time, delayed start, lasagna button?? I had to put black electrical tape over most of them because they’re completely unnecessary. And the neon blue light—just no. It’s ugly and clashes with every other appliance light in my kitchen. My kitchen now feels like the Vegas Strip. 🤦🏽♀️ The storage drawer is flimsy and now holds about half the pans my old oven did. I also miss the rounded edges—this boxy design looks odd. My old grey speckled cooktop hid everything, while this black top shows every single crumb and smudge. Oh—and it has an air fryer built in, but no manual and no basket. How does that make sense? Who is designing these ranges? I would love a seat on that design team. So far, I’ve only used the bake mode. To be fair, it does crisp food better than my old oven (which must have been slowly dying). But having to open the fridge just to open the oven door is going to take a lot of getting used to. 😭 I’ve only had this oven for two days, and I’m already super sad about this purchase. I miss my old chipped, yellowing, paint-flaking range more than I ever expected. My advice: buy used if you can, and make sure they plug it in so you can hear and see everything before you commit. These new ovens are not improvements—they’re just different, and not in a good way.

First I was so lucky to be able to claim this product. I was one of the few who received. From delivery to the first item I cooked this stove is amazing. The delivery drivers brought it in my kitchen, installed and took my old one out. I'm loving the built-in air fryer. I'm used to using a separate air fryer so having one in the oven is so convenient. I cooked french fries and they came out hot and crispy. Also this stove is beautiful! The stainless steel looks amazing in my kitchen. The oven is easy to use overall and the display is easy to read. After cooking on the stove top it was easy to clean. So far everything I have cooked has come out delicious and has been true to cook times. Overall I would definitely recommend this product! Thanks Influenster!

I bought this range a few weeks ago and am still getting used to the change from my old Whirlpool stove. I really like not only the normal baking features but the additional features the air fryer adds is a big healthy plus! The range top with the warming burner is an extra help keeping dishes hot when not ready to be served. I hope I win the additional appliance as my refrigerator or microwave need replaced to match my new stove. :)

Technician did everything possible to solve the reported issue & after manufacture recommendation to do a steam clean, the odor from the oven at 400deg still posed a breathing concern, my husband has asthma. While testing the oven a 2nd time at 400 deg, glass ceramic top gets extremely hot to the touch, along with the ceramic sides & front from the oven at 400deg. Going back to the Home Depot store for a remedy or return. Stove is only 3 weeks installed. I have an older model of this stove & nothing on the ceramic top gets hot while oven is in use. No manual for troubleshooting

The Whirpool Electric range is extreme sleek. It is a great design. It didn’t come with a cord which was a bummer to have to purchase one. The drawer on the bottom feels a little flimsy and cheap. It cooked well and was easy to clean. A nice addition to my current kitchen remodel.

The stove was delivered 11/29/25 Saturday. I asked the delivery person to test the stove. He checked the burners. He tested the oven. As soon as he turned it on. Black smoke started coming out of the oven. I had to open all the windows in the house. The kitchen and the living room was full of black smoke. I asked what was wrong? He said that he didn't know. Maybe because the stove is New. I told him that I never had a situation before with a New Stove. Also I told him that I have a problem with my lungs for almost a year and I should not be exposed to this black smoke. I had new stoves before and I never had this problem. I thought that there was something wrong with the Stove. He assured me that it was because it was New. They balanced the stove and left. Not too long after they left the bottom drawer was loose and uneven. I called their number and nobody picked up. So I called Home Depot and told them what the problem was with the Stove. I also turned the Oven on again and smelled like smoke. They assured me that they will call back to setup another appointment. I called back on Monday to Home Depot. They set up another appointment for Friday 12/5/25 between 7:00 am and 11:00 am. I cooked the Turkey on Sunday Dec. 7. I read all directions by Oven and the Turkey. It was 9 1/2 pound Turkey. It took almost 4 1/2 hours to cook and it wasn't done. The Turkey tasted very weird. I used the spices that I used in the past. The bottom of the Turkey, it was still not done. I ended up after a couple of days, giving most of the Turkey to the wild cats outside. Since I was the only person that ate some of the Turkey. I am afraid to cooked any big like that in the Oven, I can not afford to tossed that much food out, if it doesn't taste good. On 12/5/25 The Home Depot person showed up. He checked the balance on the stove, he had to move it because it was not balance. That's what he said and he showed me with the level. Also adjusted the bottom drawer that was crooked. I guessed it was crooked be the stove was not balance. The food in that oven should not taste like that. That's my concern.

I’ve been using my new Whirlpool range for a month now. I love the aesthetic looks, the functionality (especially the air fry ability). Everything is top notch. No complaints, other than the cooktop which is why I give it 4 stars. Why? Because I have to thoroughly clean it and polish it after every use. It leave a foggy impression on the cook surface that requires it to be polished after every use. I’ve never had a cooktop that requires this much attention. I’m disappointed. It also has premature scratches in 4 different locations and I’ve only had it one month. My husband says I’m obsessed with taking care of my new Whirlpool appliances. So be it. I paid a lot of money for them. The fridge, microwave and dishwasher are awesome. My only complaint is the range cooktop.

So thankful for this new stove! One of my favorite features is the no heat pre heat option, we actually made a pasta the first time and it cooked perfectly! The air fryer and air baking is new to us but so amazing, we have a counter top mini oven and tossed it as soon as we got this stove! I love the self cleaning feature which I have not used YET but I’m happy that it’s an option. It has 2 dual element burners so perfect for different pan sizes and the two back ones are smaller. Overall I think this is perfect stove upgrade especially if you are buying a new home and need new appliances. It comes with all the bells and whistles. There’s a light for the oven as well as a timer and also a warm setting for when you just need to keep food warm. 10/10 I will say I didn’t realize it didn’t come with the plug so you do have to purchase that separately, it’s only $30 so nothing crazy but definitely make sure you add it to the cart!

This stove is amazing! It evenly heats all my cookware and I love that it has an air fry function! I rarely have to use my air fryer anymore. I’ve also noticed my electricity bill decrease since having this installed. It’s a quality stove that would be perfect for anyone looking to update their electric stove.

This range has a lot of potential, with some nice features, but also has some horrible design flaws. The largest might be the oven venting. When baking, the oven vents heat right up into the control panel, making the stainless steel literally too hot to touch. I can’t imagine that the controls will last long exposed to that kind of heat. The stovetop also gets super hot when the oven runs, but the “Hot Surface” warning doesn’t light up. Seems like it should, considering how hot it gets. The drawer beneath the oven is incredibly shallow; definitely the most shallow I’ve ever come across. It’s also incredibly flimsy. There are sharp edges EVERYWHERE. The stamped out metal was never finished, so there are razor-sharp edges all over it. We’ve all been sliced open multiple times by these sharp edges. This is actually our second range as the first one had to be returned immediately since it was missing parts and was essentially falling apart right at delivery. The stovetop itself does work great, and I love the air fryer function. Overall it feels cheap and flimsy, but we’ll see how it holds up over time.

The range is still pretty new to me, I haven't had the opportunity to use all the features yet. I do like the burner setup and are finding them convenient to use. The range is attractive with its square design and looks very nice. I live in a cold climate and burning off the residue in the oven was challenging because I had to wait until it was above 15º to open the window—no fan in my kitchen, and I have a pet bird so fumes were not good. I let it thaw overnight before I tried to use it. (picture shows frost!) One thing I didn't like were all the foil stickers inside the oven door! All languages, and extremely difficult to remove the sticky residue. It took me almost an hour, and so unnecessary to have all those plastered all over.

Upon delivery, after the delivery team left, I started the oven. Smoke poured out of it and set off the smoke alarms. I turned it off and turned my breaker off. The side of the oven was so hot I couldn’t touch it. If I hadn’t noticed this happening I have no doubt the adjacent panel for my dishwasher would have caught fire. I’m thankful that I didn’t go outside for a few minutes with my dog. Not a surprise that my friend and neighbor bought the same model and had the same problem. I had Home Depot schedule an exchange for a different manufacturer’s product. whirlpool is off my list of products to buy.

I bought this range about a month ago and am pretty happy with it, however the range scuffs pretty easy on the top and is nearly impossible to clean off.
flagitious8910/29/2025 11:47 AM
Love this range! I recently bought a home with all mismatching appliances with an old, off brand stove. I went shopping around and looked at a lot of options. What impressed me the most about this Whirlpool range was consistent feedback on this range’s performance and durability. I don’t plan to buy a new stove every couple years, so this was very important to me. I also liked the sleek, modern design of this range! So far, this range has met all my expectations with each of the settings and has been an awesome update to my kitchen!
manderson200210/29/2025 01:56 AM
We are enjoying our new range. When it was delivered the man that was prepping it was cut by something on the bottom. Upon inspection I noted two other places on the stove that were also sharp. There is a long piece of metal that runs under the handle to the oven, it is very sharp, and I also noticed that where the steam or heat vents at the top of the stove on the far left. Those are also very sharp. I am concerned for the safety of anyone that uses that range. We are enjoying the rest of the range. We use it daily.
MAC50502/05/2026 06:29 AM
I can’t give an honest opinion on this range. It came with no directions. I had to go online several times to get the instructions I needed. I printed many pages. After having it a week, I still can’t use the oven for baking. There was a terrible smoke cloud after the delivery person turned it on to burn off residual materials. The smoke has gone but the electric/plastic smell has not. Know that I had to have the kitchen door open in below freezing temperatures. I’m extremely smell sensitive. There should have been warnings for people like me, not just canaries. I wish I had kept my old stove and paid to have one burner fixed. This new oven has been a nightmare.
Chickenbutwait12/18/2025 09:52 AM
First unit had to be returned, when we turned the oven on smoke poured out of it like it was on fire. This wasn’t the normal burn off, the whole house smelled like burnt plastic and it was an excessive amount of smoke. Second unit was better, minimal burn off and it seems to be working better. The glass top is a concern, it gets marked up way too easily and I feel like it will look awful after a year or so. We even bought new pots and pans before using it to be sure we didn’t damage the glass.
SeanK01/27/2026 02:30 AM
We bought this a month ago and are unhappy with the instructions and some of the functions.. We had to look up how to use several of the features - air fry, no preheat pizza and lasagna on google. Even though it indicates that there is a Sabbath mode there are no instructions. The range we traded in was 19 years old. one of the dual burners was not working so we decided to purchase a new range. The old range had a broiler pan included. None for this range. Other manufacturers include a fry basket with the range. None with this one. The manual is useless Only has range safety. There is no warm mode for the oven as on the last range. Extremely disappointed in Whirlpool,
judy80something03/19/2026 08:59 AM
This range had everything I was looking for, no bottom coil, air fry options, no front knobs, but it does have one major flaw. The oven doesn't maintain temperature. Basically, I'll preheat the oven to my desired temperature, go to put what I need cooked in the oven and it won't feel as hot as it says it should. Then when I turned it off and back on to reheat it it basically starts from nothing as if it didn't heat at all the first time and takes twice as long to preheat. Something like cinnamon rolls, which should take 13 to 15 minutes to bake, took me an hour. No issues, so far, with flat top burners though.
HeatherBug03/20/2026 06:32 AM
We haven't really had a chance to use the oven that much yet. We like the stove top and it works great. The oven we have used just a couple times and found that it might run just a little hotter than where we set it.We are going to get a thermometer to check the oven temperature. I would like to make one suggestion we got the black stove. On the knobs for setting the burners it would be nice if there was a white mark on the knob to be able to know exactly where it is set when setting the burner temperature. I am going to get a small bottle of white model paint to put in the little notch on the knob.
Fieldmouse02/26/2026 04:55 AM
Only had it a week, just getting use to it. The owners manual is huge, mostly for installation and wiring. Would be nice to have a user manual that explains how to use it. For example " what is the warm zone? What is "melt".I got a Whirlpool because my old range was a Whirlpool ceramic top that lasted probably 30 years. Hopefully the quality has remained the same. Time will tell.
Mark12/24/2025 02:08 AM
It is so quiet and efficient. My first use of the oven was with the Air Fryer and air circulating baking settings. It got to temperature very quickly and I couldn’t hear the fan on. I’ve used many other ovens in the past where the fan was quite loud but this one I could not hear at all. Only the clicks of the heating element coming on and off as needed. The food was cooked perfectly! The oven maintained the temperature quite well without a need for the heating element to come on that often. Really good seal with the door! I love how the circulating fan shuts off whenever the door opens for safety. This is a great oven for such a great price compared to so many others. I bought this from Home Depot, through the military exchange (AAFES) website. Zero issues & fast delivery.

Sleek and sophisticated. Whirlpool always delivers and has amazing features. This new range makes me excited to cook. The air cooking technology is an added bonus. The elements heat up so quickly compared to my old, outdated model. Can't wait to host Thanksgiving with all the space in the oven.
