Frig delivered on 10/1. Made request for service call on 10/5. 3 parts had to be ordered; still waiting on them to be installed. Freezer now at 15 below and frig at 50 degrees. My food is in an ice chest. Wish I had bought anything else.

Not only is the product only fair, with many flaws, your review process is a piece of junk when uploading photos it froze up my phone and now starting all over. Freezer door is the problem...seal not attached in at least 6 places, seal not on straight, paint chipped off of the two outside corners of the door, and a long run in the finish on the front of the freezer door.

I got it on Mar 2, 2023 and noticed ice/frost in the refrigerator compartment on Mar 15,2023. I scheduled a service appointment for Mar 20, 2023 which was a no show. I called Whirlpool again on Mar 21, 2023 and told them now the freezer compartment has frost/ice too and to scheduled another appointment for Mar 31, 2023 which was a no show again. I once again called Whirlpool on Apr 3, 2023 and told them that both the freezer and refrigerator compartments have frost/ice and the refrigerator compartment now also has condensation dripping down to spoil my food items. They told me someone will call me back the following day which it never happened. If I can give a negative star rating, I certainly would.

The 28yr old fridge I inherited when I bought condo gave out a week before surgery. My friend recommended this one. I love it because there is SO MUCH ROOM! The old fridge had those adjustable shelves did not give you as much space or convenience to place items. But the 2 main shelves in this fridge go from FRONT TO BACK - leaving me with so much space I would never fill it in normal weekly shopping. The side door does have the adjustable compartments which are fine. The freezer space is also very large. It runs quietly. I could not be happier with this purchase for anyone who wants a basic fridge/freezer without all the bells and whistles.

I bought this one from Lowes back 09/2016 in the second year after the warranty expires the freezer started to crack and one year later started the second cracked. The refrigerator I have set on manufacturing recommended and started freezes the food and I have to through it away. I don’t recommend anyone to buy this refrigerator at all. Then I spoke with their customer service and said we can repair it and you pay out of pocket, because it’s not cover by manufacturing and only one year warranty. Don’t waste your money on this refrigerator.

Bought August 2019. Simple, no fuss, tons of room, cools and freezes at a constant temperature, attractive and smooth - none of that alligator texture that holds dirt and bacteria! I LOVE THIS REFRIGERATOR! Cost was unbelievably reasonable for an always reliable Whirlpool!

I have several whirlpool & kitchen aid products- and truly haven’t had issues over multiple properties & years. So I really feel this is an outlier. This unit and the other unit I recvd as replacement ( only 5 serial numbers apart). Immediately had compressor issues. The ceiling of the refrigerator developed heavy condensation that proceeded to dip down shelves and form ice icicles- regardless of setting. Again both the first unit and the replacement had the exact same issue- being a had size restrictions I had to go with the freezer on the top model Needless to say 3rd time I switched to a different brand

This refrigerator is a good, solid choice for a small family or apartment, or condo. Solid 3 1/2 stars, 4 if you go by product alone and get a better delivery and warranty experience than I did. Not as much room in the door shelves, quiet, performs as expected. Read on if you’re bored and want more details…It looks nice, has a thicker paint texture so fingerprints won’t be visible. However, the paint is pretty thin and chances of getting it delivered and installed WITH a tiny paint chip or two is almost 100%. Also, because of covid, small manufacturing changes were made over several different months in 2021, so, in the three I had delivered that were supposedly made in May, June, and Oct 2021, there were differences in all of them. The first one had a solid metal back and hardly any paint texture. That one was from June. I exchanged it again at Best Buy because there was a paint chip right on the fridge door where you get the most chance of moisture (rust). No offer from Best Buy for fixing it or paying for materials for me to fix it, so I had to exchange it. Second fridge, made in May had a strange back that looked like electrical insulation was added after market to the top half of the fridge over the metal back, and had thin texture paint. It came out of the box, so I was not happy that it seemed as if extra work or insulation has been added, with no reasoning-was it too noisy? Dented? Did they not have enough metal at the time? It had significant dents, scratches, and was missing tiny plastic pieces to cover drill holes, so I had to send it back anyway. Last fridge, made in Oct 2021 had total paint texture change, it was thicker to reduce fingerprints, which I liked, but it still ended up getting chips on door corners during installation even though I could see they were being careful…and there was a tiny scrape along another edge that came that way out of the package…thin paint! Aside from significantly below par delivery issues and external cosmetic issues, there are some manufacturing & model issues too. Thin paint on outside, tiny pinholes all along the shelves inside the door…seems like a part of the manufacturing process. They looked like they tried to cover with dots of paint or something (and this was in all three fridges I got from different months in 2021), but it was sloppy and I had to scrub areas all around those dots to remove the overflow. For those looking for more room in this fridge, you won’t find it in the door shelving area. The bottom drawer is about 1/2 inch narrower than my 20 year old, smaller, 18 cu ft fridge from GE. That means you have to stagger-store drinks. You can only fit a six pack that way and it’ll take up more than a third of the bottom shelf. The middle of that shelf gets so narrow that you can only store certain things in it like salad dressing squirt bottles. The other bucket shelves are made so that they too can’t hold as much as two length-wise full shelves would. I know because I transferred what I had in my shelves of my old 18 cu ft fridge to this new one…couldn’t fit it all…old one still had room! The storage bins are about a third smaller in depth because there’s a very thick part of the fridge behind it…I imagine that’s where the motor is stored or maybe it’s the airflow “technology” concerning that gray plastic piece in the back that takes up so much room. So, yet again, less storage. I can barely fit asparagus in it unless I do so diagonally. Shelves have plenty of height…but the shelves seem to hold less. It’s so weird! Freezer has a narrow door shelf as well. It’s about 1 inch narrower than old one. I can’t put anything stacked. It all has to be single file. The actual cavity is very big, but I still seem to not be able to fit as much as my old fridge. Keep in mind, this is me following the instructions not to stack to the ceiling or block the air flow “gray vent” in the backs of the fridge or freezer. As for temps, they seem to work. The freezer door shelf can hold ice cream. It can be dented when held, so not a solid block freeze, but it’s still frozen, so it passed my test. It is pretty quiet and shuts off totally for longer periods since it’s new. I like that when it starts back up that it doesn’t have a loud “hitch” start. So, I’d say not noisy, but there is noise. At this price point though, under $1000, I’d say that this is probably the best you’ll get. Aside from less internal space, I’m actually more disappointed in the delivery service from Best Buy and Whirlpool’s “warranty.” When I contacted them about the chips in paint near notorious moisture prone/rusting areas they immediately offered to send a third party to “diagnose and repair.” The third party was 1-800-Appliance in my area and I was not allowed to pick my own repairman. This third party has 1 1/2 stars in yelp and 2 stars on a home repair forum. The email I got from third party stated that regardless of whether I choose for them to repair or not, I would be charged $149 fee if whirlpool decides to reject the claim. Rejections include cosmetic repairs not affecting performance. That is exactly what I was asking about from whirlpool so I was very leery to allow someone to come and then end up with a possible $149 charge. I declined. On the whirlpool forum, claim denials and charges are common. Sorry, I can’t afford that! So, even though that’s about a warranty, and not the fridge itself, I strongly feel that the warranty IS a part of the whirlpool experience. So, if I had all these problems why do I still give it 3 1/2 stars? Because it was my price point, it does its job, and I couldn’t find another fridge or brand at that price point that was any better. If you manage to get a great delivery and the right month of manufacture, you will probably feel like it’s a solid 4-4 1/2 star. But, because of the narrow door shelves, I don’t think 5 stars would be accurate.

I purchased this fridge April 10, 2017 and I LOVE it. At the recommended cold setting in the freezer & fridge it keeps everything super cold which suits me fine. It runs very quietly as well. I say it is an excellent value for the money. I have always been a Whirlpool fan and once again was Not disappointed. The outside dimensions are 2" deeper front to back and 2" wider side to side & about 1/2" shorter than my old fridge. It is 0.5 cu ft smaller but the inside is larger than my old fridge. The only thing I am not crazy about is that the top shelf seems to be much lower than the one in my old fridge. I seem to have to lean over further to see what is on that shelf. However I will adjust and otherwise I could not be happier with my new appliance.

I just got this amazing whirlpool refrigerator last week. It is an extra and I keep it in my garage. I love it already. Lots of Storage and easy to keep clean. I love that. The freezer is on the top and easy to see what I have in there. We plugged the refrigerator in and with a couple hours it was ice cold and doing its thing. The trays and the pull outs that this refrigerator has. And it seems like it will be really easy to keep clean. Also, I’m gonna save lots of money on my electric bill

Bought it 3 months ago and it has lots of rust spots in both doors. Either it is not stainless steel at all or it is an extremely cheap version of it. Works good, but the stainless steel finish is garbage.

I have had three of these garbage refrigerators, the freezer does not freeze that well when it is brand new, the fridge part barely keeps things cold or freezes them solid.

My seal is not sealed properly & really needs to be addressed
Nothappy07/06/2023 04:49 PM
It definitely keeps things cool and frozen. But it runs most of the time and sometimes loudly. We wonder if there are issues with it and will see our electrical bill before following up with Whirlpool about the warranty. However, it was delivered with some field damage, scratches on the face front of the refrigerator which was unfortunate. See attached photos. We needed a refrigerator immediately, after our last one stopped freezing things due to errors by previous owners of our house. Plugging it in before letting the oil settle back down. That refrigerator was just out of the 1 year warranty. Attached our pictures of the front of the refrigerator for your reference.

My old refrigerator died so we had no time to really shop around and we weren’t prepared financially. This refrigerator has been great thus far! It is a little noisy. I do wish there were more options on arranging the shelves. Also the way the door compartments are designed, you have to be very careful what you put on the bottom shelf and the door because it won’t close all the way. We learned also that if you put a container of greens on the bottom shelf it will freeze! The middle shelf seems to be ok, however. The crisper drawer is small. I don’t know why they don’t have a light in the freezer though. All in all, for the price, it does meet our needs.

I wasn’t sure I would like the refrigerator when I first got it. I have had it for a week and I just love it! I had always favored Whirlpool appliances anyway. My previous refrigerator was a GE and it was 22 years old. It was a great refrigerator. We never had any repairs done on it in all of that time. I hope we can get many years of use with this one!
DoreenRose06/20/2024 02:58 AM
A few months after buying this refrigerator brand new from Costco, the freezer is not keeping my food frozen. I have had technicians out multiple times to fix it and the problem still remains. I was getting no solutions from customer support, so I asked to speak with a supervisor. They called me back on another day and basically told me there was nothing they could do for me. Whirlpool appliances are junk and they will not honor the warranty. Buyer beware. I will be contacting a lawyer to resolve it through the court system.

We down sized from a 25.6 French Door LG that only lasted a little over 10 years, our other similar Whirlpool refrigerator is going on 30 years and still running great. We love how efficient this model is, my Killawatt meter indicates that it only uses about 75 watts when running. It was a little noisy because the condenser coils vibrate, by adding a magnet to the compressor cold line it can be quieted down. I hope ice makers become readily available in the future, we’re back to making cubes in trays, an additional special wiring harness is required to install an ice maker on this latest model. Overall, we love this refrigerator, hope it lasts a long time.

We bought this refrigerator about a month ago, thinking it would be better than the 2001 version which was giving us a little trouble. We are somewhat disappointed because the freezer fan runs nearly constantly which we thought would not be the case. It has good amount of space. We wanted a no frills product and that’s what we got.
Jimbob5203/04/2024 10:36 AM
I bought this fridge April 10, 2017 and love it. My old one was a tad larger at 21 cu ft but this one at 20.5 cu ft actually seems larger inside. The moveable bins on the inside the fridge door are interesting and take some getting used to but are nice. They are also easy to empty out and clean. The only down side is that the height of the top shelf seems low. I have to bend over about halfway to see that is on it but I will get used to that. Otherwise I love my new fridge. Just want I wanted.

My old refrigerator broke down after 18 years. Needed one ASAP. Lowes had this on sale,( which wasn’t really a sale) it was the last day of the sale, so I jumped on it. After a delivery nightmare ( Lowes fault), plugged it in and it’s been working great. Wife wasn’t happy that it didn’t come with an ice maker or that there is no light in the freezer, but she got over it. Very roomy and holds what little groceries we have. Any refrigerator that is priced under a grand these days is a true bargain. I recommend this appliance.

We are very happy with our new refrigerator. There is plenty of storage space and it’s easy to see what’s in each section. The temperature settings keep food cold and fresh.
