• Cannot give it a half of 1 star. I bought this refrigerator about 3 months ago, and going into the 2nd month, the fridge part started sweating inside, and was not keeping cold and my food has been and still is spoiling rapidly. I've contacted the technical support department 3 times and was told that there's no technician available and they don't know when one will be available for the refrigerator to get checked out before I can return it to get a new one.

• We got the refrigerator home, unwrapped the factory packaging and immediately saw large dent/scratch on the right side toward the back. We had to relocate the fridge to try to hide this dent. Then upon getting it set up, we noticed the door did not seal correctly. So then we called Fred’s appliance in Billings, Montana, where we purchased this fridge. They sent a man out who told us the door was warped, that the fridge needs a new door. After numerous times of trying to contact you, the company, and being put on hold and ignored for hours, we are very dissatisfied with the situation. At this point, I would never recommend a whirlpool appliance due to poor Customer Service and damage with no response from you,

• There are a number of design flaws in this refrigerator that make it quite annoying. The only reason we got it was because given the type and size of refrigerator that we needed there wasn’t much to choose from. First, the fact that the freezer door “shelves” do not have a full bottom to them is nothing short of ridiculous. Anything that is slightly narrow is in danger of slipping out when you open the door. Also, the space for this “shelf” is only about 3.75 inches deep and all narrow rectangular storage bins that I have been able to find that could serve to keep things from falling out are a minimum of 4 inches, so they are all too big. I am going to have to figure out how to gerry rig my own bin so that I don’t have to worry about anything falling out every time I open the door. Second , the design of the drawers wastes a ton of space. They have wide “handles“ that cause the drawer to have multiple cubic inches of useless space on either side of the handle. They may look sleek, but they are not practical. Also the fact that there was no option for split shelves was a real disappointment. The split shelf option in my prior refrigerator allowed for a multitude of configurations, and was extremely convenient. The only reason I don’t have that refrigerator anymore is because it gave up the ghost after 19 years.

• We love our new Whirlpool refrigerator! The stainless steel exterior is so easy to keep clean with just some soap and water, and no fingerprints ever show on it. The refrigerator inside has loads of space, and we love the spacious shelves inside the door which easily contain bottles of soda, beer, and wine, as well as loads of condiments within easy reach. The freezer is large as well, and the only complaint we have about anything is that the shelves inside the freezer door are open at the bottom, which lets frozen food slip out. We wish the shelves had been closed as the refrigerator shelves are. Other than that, we are thrilled that we switched to a Whirlpool refrigerator.

• Although it is a basic design, I'm surprised to find that a simple action can pop off the bottom condiment retainer bar in the door. The crisper drawer was left open by mistake (as children...and adults sometimes do) and then, as the refrigerator door was shut, the bottom retainer bar popped off. Condiments took a tumble onto the floor. Poor design idea for those of us who need to learn to shut a drawer completely. Moreover, our refrigerator has a liner issue which does not allow the door to seal completely. A service call for a door adjustment within the first week of receiving the refrigerator was unsuccessful in trying to seal it. The technician said it was a problem at the manufacturing level. I suspect this particular fridge was shipped out without a proper final inspection.

• The fridge is roomy and cools well. However, it makes odd noises and the freezer door tends to build up some frost inside the top of the door seal.

• Third times the charm. We were recommended this Whirlpool after two other failed new frigs, different brand. Great lighting both frig and freezer which most don't have today. Also glass shelves both frig & freezer, nice touch. Compresser is quiet which is more than be said for other brands. Ice maker is fast and produces large amount of ice. The only drawback is no split shelves but this is an issue in all brands today.

• Disappointed. Louder than my previous fridge which was 20 yrs.old. I have been tweaking the controls to get the proper temperature in both compartments and the thermostat just does not maintain the proper temperature. The room temp is pretty steady and the load of products in the fridge is constant. AND I wait 24 hours between setting changes. Quality control seems poor because they neglected to drill the holes where the top part of the fridge handle is supposed to be attached.

• I have still yet to get fridge fixed. The doors do not want to open at all. There is such a suction that i literally reinjured my shoulder (no joke). That is how hard they pull open. I have to push in best I can on seal to make it open. Also the fridge wobbles really bad. Once you get the wobble better then the fridge is way out of level. My floor is level all the way around fridge too. I believe the frame is out of square as I have never had a fridge do this before. I tech said he had never seen this happen before and so far hasn't fixed it. I just want a replacement. If an elderly person would own this they would not bet doors open at all.

• I am not happy with this refrigerator . The design of the inside is so different from the one that broke down. The freezer door shelving, does not have a bottom so most items slide out the bottom. I always buy Whirlpool products so I am REALLY DISAPPOINTMENT!

• After having the refrigerator for just a month and a half it did not keep food in refrigerator and freezer at proper temp. Ice cream was liquid.Had to throw lots of food out. Took numerous calls to arrange for repair person to come fix it. It was necessary for the compressor to be replaced which took more waiting. The refrigerator now does keep the food at proper temperature but it makes a noise that I’ve never had in any refrigerator previously owned. The shelves on the freezer door do not hold items in place and are useless without the aluminum pans I have placed there. Very unsatisfied with the refrigerator. Would advise friends to look at other brands.

• My parents were at the home when delivered. The door was damaged. Called customer care for replace the door. But been told the only thing they can do is return it and buy a new one. Also been told to buy googone it will work. But I bought googone it didn’t work. They saw the picture I took but still want to sent someone over to take a look. But saying it will take a long time to order the door. It’s been almost two month still nothing happen yet. Super disappointed with the service.

• There was a 2 foot section of gasket that had a 1/4 inch gap. The store suggested using a hair dryer on the gasket which worked. There is also obvious cost cutting such as no cover for the top hinge, crisper drawers that do not move smoothly, and no caps for the handle set screws. I had limited choices so I bough this refrigerator.

• I am very happy with this make and model. Although it replaced a larger side by side, it has just as much storage space as the old one. I thought I would miss the side freezer but I don’t.

• No suelo hacer reseñas sobre productos pero quiero prevenir a otros compradores que compren esta basura de refrigerador, no sé porque lo sigue vendiendo aún cuándo Whirlpool sabe que este modelo ha tenido muchos problemas, compré el mío hace aproximadamente 5 años en Home Depot, en los primeros meses tuve que reclamar a la garantía de Whirlpool porque el refrigerador en el freezer se lleno de escarchas y no pasaba el aire hacia la parte de abajo y se dañó los alimentos , ha tenido este problema constantemente ,aparte de que se suda y los alimentos se descomponen rápidamente. Como tenía un plan de protección con Home Depot enviaron varios técnicos y le llegaron a poner varias piezas pero el refrigerador actualmente continúa dando problema,s es un verdadero limón, no lo compren ,no vuelvo a comprar un producto Whirlpool.

• January 16, 2017 - The email to rate this unit is timely. I do not recommend this unit. We are on our second unit, the first of which was replaced under warranty with the same model that was the choice of Whirlpool. The unit was replaced 11 days ago and I made sure that I registered the warranty.Both the first and second units show the same characteristic that ice and icicles form on the inside of the freezer door and on the freezer cabinet at the its interface with cabinet door when the door is closed, see attached photo. On the first unit we had 8 service calls over 7 months that resulted in general inspections, the magnetic freezer door seal being replaced twice, the freezer door being replaced, and the installation of factory service kit consisting of a reconfigured fan blade and resealing the caulking on the freezer cabinet. The fact that a factory service kit was developed is indicative of a design flaw. The 9th visit was to replace the refrigerator. Each of the service calls requires me to be home from work for a 4-hour window – that is collectively approaching a week of work time that I will not be compensated.The attached photo was taken 3 days after I had wiped these surfaces clean, again this refrigerator is less than 2 weeks old and the second unit.I will now begin the second round of service calls with my goals of not experiencing 8 service calls, getting this refrigerator out of our kitchen, and getting our money back in full. These goals seem reasonable and appropriate based on past experiences and current observations.I must note that the service contractor representatives, Fields Appliance Service, were professional and cordial.

• I purchased this fridge in October 2021 and immediately had issues with an intermittent whining noise coming from it. I’ve had service out for it twice with no resolution. Now that it’s summer the noise is worse. Just listen to the attached video. This went on for 7 minutes total one night. I have other Whirlpool appliances that are 20 years old with no issues. Clearly the quality of their newer appliances is not the same.

• Refrigerator was purchased 11.13.2021. After 3 months on back order, it was delivered on 2.16.2022. Plugged it in for a few minutes to make sure it worked. Then unplugged until I was able to install the ice maker later that night. It hasn't been plugged in since. The ice maker has a 8 hole pin, the refrigerator has a 5 pin. Returned the ice maker to the retailer, and after a two and a half hour phone call with Whirlpool and the retailer, Whirlpool determined the correct ice maker was in the warehouse, and it would ship within 2 - 3 weeks. It's going on 3 weeks, and I haven't seen the "correct" ice maker yet. Called Whirlpool 3.4.2022, and a 58 minute long phone call resulted in Whirlpool explaining they would "elevate" the inquiry to see what is going on with the ice maker order. Fortunately my "old" still running refrigerator is sitting in my kitchen in front of the new refrigerator awaiting an ice maker that fits. BUYER BEWARE!

• start making ice in the freezer the second day after 3 months they replaced the new one start making ice again a technician made some work and again making ice in the freezer, i will get another brand

• I have a love/hate relationship with this new refrigerator. I love the wide door and adjustable shelves inside the refrigerator section. I hate the door shelves in the freezer section. These shelves are half shelves (only 2 inches wide with a 2 inch wide gap to the bar across the front). These door shelves do not hold small containers and frozen vegetable bags; they fall through the gap. This is a poor engineering design. Otherwise, the freezer is spacious enough to hold my food.

• This fridge replaced our 2006 Sears Kenmore. What disappointed me: -The compressor in the fridge runs loud like variety store freezer. -There is so much plastic (which use to be metal) that $1600 fridge feels like an entry level Frigidaire. You will never see this with Samsung and LG fridges. -The fit and finish is low quality as pieces and edges don't align. -Mississauga customer service reps are kind, but can do nothing when delivery destroys your fridge. All this, and seeing the depend abilities issues where appliances failing on the 2nd year. I don't think I could recommend to friends and family.
