  • This oven really does do it all! We are not sure how we lived without the built in air fry mode! It gives you the freedom to air fry a lot of food at once, and works better and faster than most counter top ones. It took us 6 minutes to turn tortillas into crisp and tasty chips! The sleek design looks great in our kitchen, and having the extra long burner in the middle allows you to cook with an extra large tamale pot or the like. The convection mode on the oven cooks food quickly and evenly, and really this should be a standard on all ovens! As an added bonus, there are preset buttons for pizza and lasagna, which allow you to cook them directly from the freezer without preheating or anything! All in all, we are very pleased and highly recommend this oven and of course Whirlpool!

  • I bought this range approximately 7 months ago. The following are problems I have encountered. 1) a few of the control knobs have the chrome delaminating. 2) There is a paint/ finish issue on the stove top. 3) the racks are flimsy and can slightly bow depending on load e.g. turkey 4) A full-size cookie sheet will extend past the rack. putting 2 sheets side by side will not work. Had I know of theses issue I would not have purchased this oven. Whirlpool used to sell a quality product.

  • Whirlpool 30 inch gas range with the air fry built in Model: WFG550S0LZ is perfect for our use. The range is well built and has a lot of different options for cooking. It has options for Air fry, convect bake, Pizza, Lasagna, bake and broil. It has an air fry tray and a bottom drawer. It has 5 burners. Two large burners, one medium, one small and one elongated burner. Installation and connection was easy. A gas line and adaptor was provided at delivery. The range is easy to use. It looks great in our kitchen and matches our other appliances. The exterior color is Stainless steel and black.

  • Very nice but it came with some cosmetic flaws. Two of the burners have some weird black stains and the Whirlpool decal is falling off. I reached out to customer service about the burners and because it was after 30 days, they refused to send replacement parts. Seems very convenient to only have a 30-day cosmetic warranty.

  • I am very pleased with this Stove. So far it’s what are the nicest stoves I’ve ever had. Plenty of flame to cook slowly or smoking hot. The oven capacity is larger and seems to bake very evenly when using both racks concurrent. It’s very attractive and it’s not terribly bothersome to clean the top after cooking.

  • I bought this unit almost a month ago, to replace a different brand that was nothing but a nightmare. So in the past 25 days, this range has been tested hard. I have baked over 10 loaves of bread, several dozen rolls and over 50 dozen of cookies. I have air fried: fresh french fries, frozen fries, fresh chicken tenders, chicken wings, breaded mushrooms. Baked a few beef roast and standing rib roast, whole chickens and pork roast. When I first started using the oven I noticed temperature was hotter than what I set it for. So I called Whirlpool customer service and spoke with Tyler. He walked to through calibration for oven temperatures, which is so easy! So then everything after that came out perfect!! I have used the self cleaning for 3 1/2 hours, which did a nice job. BUT now my convection fan isn't working!! Repair Technician is coming today. This unit does have a few cons: Knobs are plastic Control panel is very small, doesn't have a key pad so everything is arrow up or down, no quick preheat, no convection conversation so you have to figure that, no add a minute to baking. But it has 2 different timers?? So be careful of which when you set. If you use the cook timer, your oven will turn off automatically at the end . So if you're baking be sure to just set the regular timer!! Storage drawer is small No user guide. You have to go online to get information you're looking for Reason for 4 stars are: convection fan stopped working in less than a month, plastic knobs and small basic control panel . One would think with the money this unit cost it would have metal knobs and a better control panel.

  • This is a beautiful range. The gas grates make it possible to cook overlapping on another of the five burners if needed. You can even order a flat grill for the center burner, which I am looking forward to. The oven allows for convection, air fry, and even bake from frozen settings such as lasagna. I've baked homemade sourdough bread that turned out perfectly. I highly recommend this jewel of a range.

  • This range/oven came with the newly constructed home we just bought. Though it functions as intended, there are a few issues that make me not absolutely love it. Firstly, it is constructed in a way that the back of the oven does not allow for our home’s gas line to be tucked away into any little crevice, causing our oven to have to sit 2.5 inches away from the wall. We have tried a few times to adjust the gas line so we could push it back further, but there is a bar on the back of oven that runs into the main gas line back there. This causes the oven to stick out forward from my counters and cabinets instead of being more in line with them. And that gap behind the stove will undoubtedly catch more falling food during prep and cooking that it should. Maybe they constructed my house/gas line wrong, but either way, the unit should not be this misaligned with the counters. Secondly, the door to the oven is slightly askew and does not appear to be fixable. It would be difficult for passersby to notice, but as a frequent user of the oven, I notice it often. While sitting at my kitchen island I can see the oven’s warning labels on the inside of the oven door because of this slight misalignment. Thirdly, I had assumed that the oven size would be a standard size or at least comparable to my old oven, but this one is definitely smaller inside. I’m not sure what the measurements are but this Whirlpool doesn’t have the same depth as my previous GE because my pans don’t fit inside the same way. So I’m going to have to adjust how I cook some things or at least go buy pans that fit the space a little better based how I’m used to cooking certain meals. Perhaps the loss of space inside the oven is due to this being a gas oven, whereas my last one was electric, but either way, it’s a little smaller than I expected. The stovetop is nice and I like the layout of the burners so far. The single, long, center burner is neat, but I haven’t had a chance to use it yet since I don’t have a griddle-type pan for it. I also can’t comment on the air fryer function because I haven’t used it yet either. I hope it’s as great as everyone claims air fryers are. The warmer drawer at the bottom is a bit difficult to pull out, but it’s not a dealbreaker defect. It just doesn’t glide as smoothly as the drawer of a more upgraded model might.

  • Love my stove / bought for the features of convection bake and air fry and like the look and styling - 4 stars instead of 5 because whoever designed the cooktop doesn’t cook - the 2 small burners are in the back and 2 large burners in the front - they are also very tightly spaced together left to right - way too much dead space on the far left and right edge and too close together center oval burner left to right - can not use 2 large pans on 2 front large burners at same time - also could not easily use large pan on lg front burner and be sautéing on back burner at same time without burning yourself - also can’t use 5th center burner at same time using any of the other 4 burners so don’t buy if cook large meals at same time - makes no sense - even if had staggered one lg and one small front and back would have been more functional - so great oven and features but lot of limitations on cooking on stove top - probably wouldn’t have bought if had known that -

  • We bought our stove a month ago. I really like that the grates cover the whole surface which my previous one did not. The only complaint I have is how the grates fit together. You have to place the two side grates in first. They are bigger and then you put the smaller middle grate in for them to fit together. When I wipe where the bigger grate goes I have to take the middle grate out first. It would be so much easier to just lift the bigger grate since that is usually where you need to clean.

  • I have had this range about a month. I like it but... The Air Fryer takes almost twice as long to do things. The burner configuration is a little frustrating because it is hard to large and small pans in use at the same time. It would have been better it the smaller burners were offset a little, like a "W". the Convection baking took about 50% more time than prescribed. they needed to send a detailed instruction manual rather than have us try to look things up on the web. No instructions for operation at all with the range.

  • I bought this stove about a month ago and really like all the features. It has an air fryer! I was so excited about that. It also has a convection oven. It works perfectly and I'm very happy with it. It also has a middle rectangular burner which I have not used yet. I like that it has 2 larger burners, 1 medium burner and a small burner for simmering. Stoves have evolved so much since my old 17 year old one! Very happy with my purchase.

  • I bought this stove to replace a very old stove. Of course technology of a gas stove has greatly changed. It cooks very quickly. I wished that one of the smaller (slower) burners was placed in the front instead of the two large burners. I like having the fifth burner. My biggest “complaint “ is that there were no directions for operating this stove, anywhere. There are two preset controls, but how to set the timers are tricky. For example, I wanted to delay baking to a another time of day but it only shows minutes that max out to about five minutes. I am playing with it to see exactly how it works. Never thought I needed a how-to for a stove.

  • Bought this from Lowe’s to replace our old one and this one had control board issues in the first week. So now the stove does not work. Brand new 1300 paper weight sitting in my house. Did a warrenty claim they sent out a tech just to confirm it’s the control board. Tech could not give us a ETA in the part in question. So now we don’t know how long it’s gonna take to fix our brand new unit. Zero communication from the tech, said he can’t give us a date and if we don’t hear back within 3 days it’s our responsibility to call them for a up date? What kinda customer service is that? I’ve never had this big of a issue with whirlpool but I’m starting to wonder what’s up. Just a horrible experience.

  • Can't say enough about my new whirlpool stove. It is all I wanted and so much more. Beautiful design, easy to use, easy to keep clean. Love, love, my whirlpool!

  • I am enjoying my new range and seeing what it can do. Around Christmas, my old stove's oven stopped working. After shopping, I decided I liked the features of the Whirlpool. I was looking for a unit that had an air fryer. I've not had it very long to know how it will hold up - I cook alot. It makes my kitchen look very nice. The only thing I'm not impressed with is the drawer at the bottom. It could be more sturdy. Otherwise, I'm happy with my purchase so far.

  • I love my new range. Never had one so nice. My daughter loves it to and wants one.

    GrammaDeeDee11/23/2025 05:24 AM

  • Did a total kitchen remodel replacing all my old Whirpool appliances. I am disappointed with some of the features but pleased with others that are different from my old range. Likes: Digital features. My 28 year old gas range was analog. Bigger grates plus the extra burner. There's better stability for pots and pans now. My old range had the four separate grates that would move around and weren't level. Enclosed cooktop. I like how the cooktop is covered so no food falls down in between the burners and the cooktop anymore. Dislikes: Flimsy storage drawer that's hard to pull open. My old range had a sturdy built drawer that slid out easily and you could store items in there without worrying about it getting bent from too much weight. Knobs are bulky. Preferred the smaller ones on my old range. It seems awkward having to turn these big knobs counterclockwise and then having to turn back past the igniter again. This causes the igniter to click again before the burner can be turned off. Limited control of flame size. Only low, med, high. If you're trying to simmer you can only have it on low and the flame size is too much sometimes - food continues to boil. This is the thing I dislike the most about this range. Overall, the range will do the job but I don't anticipate it lasting as long as my old one. I don't hate it - it's just not the quality I am used to from days past. I knew this going into the kitchen remodel though. It is what it is today.

  • Delivery a week ago. First ordered was defective and Home Depot replaced it within a week. Looks nice. Top grates fit entire stove top which is ice for larger pots but it makes cleaning under them a little tedious since they interlock and cannot be lifted easily. Large burners are in front and have a high flame. My husband said there is adjustment that can be done to give a lower flame. He will try that. We have not tried air fryer mode but are anxious to do that. Oven comes to temperature quickly. overall a good review but there is a learning curve on stove top due to flame on burners. Excited about the oven self cleaning feature.

  • I bought this four weeks ago, I am highly dissatisfied. After a week of purchase and my first time use of the oven, my son went to bake a pizza. We noticed condensation dripping down the glass. Also I really was duped by now I know as their marketing ploy of the air fryer, which is very messy when using. The oven stains very easily, and the self cleaning option does not work well, it just fumes up your house (totally DO NOT recommend). I called and asked for a refund, they stated the first step is to have a service tech come out to diagnosis the issues. He not only agreed with everything I stated but actually noticed another issue unbeknownst to me. The inside bottom of the range had an inward dent that he mentioned to whirlpool. Whirlpool is avoiding accountability stating that the condensation is normal and recommend we cover our food? The correct resolution for Whirlpool to take, is to honor my request for a full refund. Put in a an order for this defective unit and RECALL these ranges.

  • I have had it for about 3 months. Mostly, I think it's a great product. I do not like the air fryer. While it does a good job, when I use it the oven gets so dirty I have to run this off cleaner. I wish that the two large burners the small and medium were in different arrangement with one of the smaller ones in the front. My oven quit working recently, but I discovered it was because the drawer below the oven was too full. I bumped into one of the knobs on the front of the stove and the burner came on. I have no small children, but if I did this would be a huge problem.

    VE2202/16/2023 03:09 AM

  • We have only had it a week and a half and haven't tried all the features yet. We were extremely disappointed with the instructions. The manual is focused on installation which we didn't need. The quick start guide and the manual give very little or poor information if any on how to operate the actual features of the range. The guide says turn on the timer but there are no further instructions on what you can actually use it for. We have never had a convection/air fry oven before and there are no instructions on how to use it. Very disappointing. The basic functions with the burners seem to work well.

    SS197409/24/2023 05:18 AM

  • I purchased this range approximately 30 days ago. After the first day I attempted to use the Broiler function. It would NOT ignite. It clicked several times & would not ignite. I put in a service call through Whirlpool. Had to wait 10 days for an appointment. Service arrived & stated a part was required. Another 10 days for this service call. I also complained to the service tech of a Loud Pop each time the oven ignited ( even while cooking). He said that was Normal (which it is NOT). As of this date, issues not resolved.

  • My wife and I purchased this range stove and due to popular demand, there was a 2 month installation lead time. That was okay because our last range on it's last legs went out in style. Out with the Old and in with the New! We used the air fryer right away and some of the best cooked chicken wings we ever had. We like the features however, needed an extra oven rack. Good thing the old range has racks that fit perfectly. Pro tip, we put aluminum foil on that rack for the bottom drip pan to avoid the gunk on the bottom of the new stove. Worked perfectly!
