Whirlpool range knobs are made out of cheap plastic with a metallic coating to make it look like metal. These knobs fall apart and crack. In my case, as soon as the one year warranty expired making it impossible to use. First, after a couple months, with this new range the metallic coating started to warp, wrinkle and peel off from the heat of the oven door opening. If you think the warranty will cover this, you would be wrong. According to Whirlpool customer service, that’s just a “cosmetic”issue. In other words, not being able to read the “on” and “off” for the gas is not considered important enough to be covered in warranty. If that’s not frustrating enough for you, how about Whirlpool then makes you pay $64.65 per knob to replace them if you wish to use your stove. If you have 5 knobs like I do, that’s $343.00 with tax they are happy to scam you with!Seem a little much? Whirlpool doesn’t think so. The other issue is the broiler has never worked right. I had a repair person come to fix, but it stopped working again. I gave up on having a broiler then. With the cheap quality of “Whirlpool” parts and bad customer service, I will never buy any “Whirlpool” product ever again!

Got this range from the builder and am not happy with it. First of all the broiler is in a drawer below the oven and what 60+ person should have to get down on her knees to broil a steak. Hence I have not used it once. Second the spacing of the grates is so far apart that a small potatoe falls right through if not placed in sideways! With the broiler being in a drawer below the oven, you would expect The broiler to have its own great that you could pull out and put the broiler pan on. However, it doesn’t even come with a broiler tray or a metal grate for the broiler drawer. Thats an extra purchase apparently. It also has no storage drawer obviously. One more thing that is a negative is the orientation of the knobs for the front burners is not what you would think they would be, so I’m constantly turning on the back burners thinking the knobs are for the front burners. I give it 3/5 stars.

It arrived with the left panel dented and warped at the oven door. This is the panel that is most visible. I've been trying to get ahold of Whirlpool to see if the side panels are interchangeable and/or obtain a left replacement panel.

I bought the house less than a month ago- new construction. I’ve had an electrician out here for 2 hrs and whirlpool ‘tech’ for an hour. My unit still shorts out constantly… only to find that both fools never considered a grounding plug was missing wow! Am I the fool or them?
Saultmom2404/15/2024 04:21 PM
It's a really nice range, but my only issue has been that the control panel seems to be faulty. The oven will heat and bake fine, but once it cools off, it throws a E1F1 error, which is for the control panel, and you can only reset it by unplugging the range and plugging back in. It's manageable to work around, but still, out of the box with that kind of issue is kinda annoying. Hopefully they respond to a warranty fix request soon. Apart from that, it's a decent unit, the burners are very responsive, although generally run higher than my old hotpoint.

I bought this oven and in less than a month it is not working. The seal around the door detached and caught on fire. The oven is also missing a bottom plate which caused the fire.

Moved into a house with this oven thought it was great at first, but the front cover started to fall off and it continues to leak a lot of heat. This puts my kids at risk of getting burnt and makes the kitchen unbearably hot. The range works great though if you could get away with only that. Oven itself is not recommended.
CMK.NV09/28/2023 01:22 PM
This range has a nice aesthetic, however, it is extremely difficult to keep the black finish clean. Additionally, the first day we plugged it in and started using the oven we started getting E1/F1/ERR error messages scrolling across the screen which require me to unplug it and then plug it back in before I can make it work. Additionally, it is extremely difficult to get the burners to go low enough to avoid overheating most of my pans when I cook. I would not recommend purchasing this stove. Cheap. Meh.

I love the top grate and easy to clean surface, I do alot of cooking, baking and canning and the large pots & canners will sit on the stove top much better. I LOVE the 2 large burners. The Oven passed with an AA++ and made PERFECT PIZZA.

Great drive. Love the oven because my thing is baking and my cakes come out so good.
Nivea52704/04/2024 01:57 AM
Just received this stove but very sad it did not come with racks in the broiler drawer. Was this an accident that a rack was not provided. Every other brand stove w broiler drawer had rack included. Please send me a rack to fit my broiler drawer

I love the size of the oven so much more room then my electric 30 inch range about 3 inches wide and I really like that I can have a cooktop if the power goes out … I can really really only talk about its looks now because it will be awhile before it’s hooked up to our propane unit but so far I can’t wait to cook on it!
Kima101610/12/2024 07:00 AM
I am not sure if this would have been my initial choice but after reading reviews and actually using it I am pleased with this purchase.
Mom2JaSaKa02/25/2026 05:31 AM
Whirlpool does it again! Another very satisfied purchase. The gas range works great and looks fantastic!
Paula05/15/2025 05:50 AM
Glass oven door not only became completely detached at the bottom and melted the rubber in between after 2 weeks of minimal but it gets so hot to touch that it's dangerous! And the highest temperature we have used to cook anything is 400 degrees. The range also produces so much heat around and above that my microwave above and wooden cabinets get hot!! I don't feel this is a safe range whatsoever! And when pushing the buttons on the top part for the over to turn it on and use the timer, it feels so weak like we are barely pressing hard but it feels like it is going to become detached from the range itself.

Oven bake feature leaked gas out of the back of oven. Would make whole house smell like gas. To place a warranty call, it was a whole ordeal. Had to get a plumber in first and then whirlpool sent a service tech after I called and was on hold for over an hour. After they dispatched my call the warranty company canceled my appointment and I had to call to reschedule. After they came and troubleshot it was another 5 days until they could come back. There has to be a better process for this, I’ve been without an oven for almost two weeks now. How as anyone supposed to cook or feed their kids without spending massive amounts of money going out to eat

I ordered this range from a store in February. I got it however it had a gouge in it. Looks like the paint was disturbed before curing. I left out to get a few things. Came back and the house was filled with gas. Gas company came and said the stores installers used tape as opposed to pipe dope to connect it. The technician also found a dent. My replacement arrived a few weeks later. I bought my own pipe dope and an electronic meter. The installer didn’t even test it with the solution that came in the kit. I had him use my meter to test for leaks. Overall I like it! I like the full grate top. It heats up fast . It is easy to clean. I am looking to replace my 25 year old Whirlpool washer and dryer. I will be replacing them with Whirlpool.

At first I was really disappointed with my new stove. The burners have no real low flame. Then I discovered that if when you first ignite the burner and instead of turning the knob clockwise to a lower temperature, turn it counterclockwise and you can adjust the flame to a tiny flame. It works on all the burners. I’m still not a fan of the big cast iron grates, they are hard to keep clean underneath. I can’t just wipe up a splatter or spill quickly. My stove is dirtier than it’s ever been.

This range came with the house I purchased brand new, two and a half years ago. Tonight the outer glass shattered into a million pieces! The glass made it all the way to the living room, on top of the dining table and everywhere in the kitchen. I’m so thankful no one was seriously hurt except for my two year old grandson that was terrified when he heard the sound and saw the glass burst just feet away from him. And I’m sure we’ll be picking up glass shards for days. The glass was popping and crackling as it continued to splinter and fall onto the floor. I have a video but I can only attach pics. Background, we were making fish sticks and fries in the oven at 425 and the oven had already been turned off for about five minutes. This is so disappointing and scary! Please be careful!!!

This is my first gas oven/ range and I couldn’t be happier. We had our local HVAC guys hook us up to our LP gas and they didn’t have any issues thanks to the included converter pack. The grates are great (pun intended). Seriously though, I love that the grates encompass the entirety of the stove top and not just over the individual burners. I also love how there aren’t any open holes in the stove top to allow food or spills to drop down into the nether regions below. Everything is very easy to clean, as well. The oven has a huge viewing window making it almost fun to watch your food cook. Would definitely recommend!!

I wouldn’t recommend this range for someone with kids. While y really like the look of it and the racks on top, this doesn’t feel like a Whirlpool appliance, within a week of baking frozen pizza everyday in our new home the front glass panel detached and was falling apart. It took about two weeks for them to send someone to fix it so I couldn’t use the oven. Another con is that the sides of this range get super hot to the touch and not to mention that the broiler is in the bottom drawer so you have to pretty much lay down on the floor to use it. I am 80% dissatisfied with the choice of range that our house developers did. Don’t buy this appliance, you will regret it :(
