I LOVE MY BIGGER PEDESTALS, SAVES MY BACK, MAKES LOADING & UNLOADING SO EASY. PLUS THE EXTRA STORAGE IS VERY NICE

The pedestals were installed 3 to 4 weeks ago. The boxes had loose tape which left the flaps open. However, no parts were missing. The bag with the hardware came loose on one of the boxes but fortunately stuck to the slide rails on the outside of the drawer. The installationn went easily. I did use the shipping bolts on the washer and hired a couple people to install the units. Now installed for 3 weeks, there are no issues. the drawers work fine, although I'm not storing anything in them. I did install the dividers in the drawers for support. They slide fine. There's no imbalance, or excessive shaking on spin cycle. Everything went well

This is a great product for storage. The 16" Height Capacity is great for storing large bottles of Detergent Products. The other leading Brands could not store the larger product from a height standpoint. However, in spite of this great feature, the GE Pedestal cannot handle much weight. After a week the Pedestal's bottom support brackets fail and cling when opened (Annoying).

While I love the added height that the drawers add to the washer/dryer GE really missed the mark on these drawers. They are to tall, I am a woman 5’6” the soap dispenser is almost to high for me to fill it. But the biggest complaint is my cabinets where hung at standard height 54” from the floor, I had to pay $450 dollars for someone to come raise my cabinets to 58” so I could slide the washer/dryer under them. So very disappointed in the design, it never occurred to me that this would be the case.

Like so many of the reviews, we experienced the exact same problem with our new pedestal drawers. After multiple replacements and trips to repair, the store we purchased the units from had no further solution. After contacting GE it was determined that even thought the plastic drawers are stamped with "Max Load 50#", GE does not recommend more than 25#. It is my understanding that they would be changing the documentation. The primary reason we purchased the units was for storage of large detergent bottles, washing supplies, towels, etc. as indicated in the literature and promoted by the store. There appears to be a design flaw in the materials used to make the drawer and after several conversations with GE, it is apparent the design is not currently being modified and this will be an ongoing problem. In the end, we were able to get a full refund from GE for the purchase price.

Three Months ago this was written: AdrianatGEA · 3 months ago "Hello! Thank you for choosing GE Appliances for your home. We are more than happy to provide guidance. The leveling legs on this pedestal have a 1/2" adjustment. With the pedestal being 16" tall, the legs fully extended make the pedestal approximately 16 1/2" tall. We appreciate you checking with us, and we hope this information helps! " When it was installed, the installer did not put on the "leveling legs." I called GE and got a part number that supposedly was these "leveling legs" for the pedistal. When it came, they ere not the correct parts. WHAT IS THE PART NUMBER FOR THE "Leveling Legs?" ONLY The Legs with the rubber tip. And I tried to find the parts list, but can't even when the website says it is available.

Purchased a GE front load washer and dryer set and the pedestals that goes with them. The washer and dryer are amazing however the same pedestal goes with both. I do t think the pedestal can support the weight of the washer cause my pedestal even when level sways from side to side like its to light or not structural enough. Leveled it many times just to make sure. Contacted GE and they said they were making a new one cause apparently alot of others must have problems with them as well. I feel like I just wasted like $250 for a pedestal that isn't doing its job and my machine is not be supported to make it run smooth and proper.

Pedestal are poorly designed. I just didn't put any items in the pedestal. My Wife torn the front panel off trying to pull open. I purchased April 2023. I want to stack now. Do you send techs to home to stack for a fee or do I go back to the retailer where I purchased the product. Need stacking kit.

The rails on one side of the pedestal drawer has come apart. There are 9 ball bearings that came apart and dropped out of the carrier. Not sure why they used such a flimsy soft steel as a carrier for the ball bearings. I hope to get a new set of rails under warranty, but in the meantime I cannot use the drawer.

We bought these pedestals to raise the height of the machines and they do that well. Unfortunately they make the washing machine too unstable with a full load of wet cloths. They flex too much and cause the machine to rock and sway excessively during spin. The washer never spins fast enough and the loads comes out soaking wet. We had to pay an appliance repair company to have the washer removed from the pedestal. The machine functions properly now. We're out over $400 between the price of the pedestal and the cost of the service call. We didn't use the drawers so I can't comment if they hold up or not. Not worth the money.

Sept 2023 I purchased this base with a new replacement GE washing machine after 5 years of LG washing machine pain, never, ever buy LG again, deceptive advertising as far as warranty support and techs lie and claim they showed up when they never did, the last 2x visits. This base has a 50lb drawer max load rating imprinted in the bottom of the drawer yet it drags across the opening and lower frame with barely 20lbs in it. You can store air and styrofoam products in it I guess. This pedestal has extremely poor engineering, the frame design and metals used are weak and substandard, and yes, the Lowes installers did remove the feet from the washer before installing it on the base. The base would have been flimsy regardless and still cause the machine to wobble during washing and spinning whether there were feet installed or not. Crappy product, do not buy. The swaying of the pedestal exaggerates the action from the washing machine causing more intense swaying, adding to additional wear and tear on the washing machine itself, wearing it out or breaking it way sooner than it should have which will probably occur right after the extended warranty expires. 2nd visit by GE rep two days ago, confirmation #071794327. Tech says he's uncertain whether GE will warranty this 7 month old product even though it has a 12 month manufacturers warranty because it's bent, and that is because it is so flimsy. GE should initiate a safety recall for these defective products before these bases fail, collapse, and cause injury or damage. Imagine the damage from a machine falling onto a person, cabinets, counters or walls. The energy and force from the weight could tear out electrical, water lines, damage drain pipe, etc. GE, get your honesty and ethics practices in check and honor your warranties, acknowledge you sold an inferior unsafe product and remove it from the market. There is no accountability so far when customers have been vocal about this defective pedestal on your own site for quite some time.

horrible. I told my girlfriend not to get the pedestals and she did. This is for a new house and she just started move in this week. The pedestals flex and the washer in particular does not like to be on a pedestal. It vibrates all over the place washing the same stuff that she washed in her last house. The previous house had a different brand washer with a pedestal and she had no issues with that. I checked for level and adjusted the front feet and that didn't help. I pulled the washer out to rotate the washer feet so that they were firm against the pedestal and the instructions state online and that didn't help too much. Unfortunately, the rear feet of the pedestal caught the new linoleum floor and literally ripped the floor up so now I have to buy my girlfriend a new floor in her new build house. So the pedestals are flimsy and it doesn't help when the delivery people don't know how to install them. They also threw away the dryer feet that are supposed to be adjusted firmly against the top of the pedestal so GE is coming out tomorrow to look at that.

These are absolute garbage! Made most lay of plastic they break easily. Also, if you put anything. Also, if you put anything of any weight like a laundry detergent bottle the supports for the drawer bend and the bottom of the drawer smashes against the bottom part of the frame Creating a very undesirable sound every time you open and close it. I am so aggravated by the pedestal drawers that I am thinking about returning the washer and dryer and buying a different brand.

Had these less then 1 year and they are junk. The pedestal drawers came with broken plastic where screwed together so it was loose and hanging. The drawer can support 5lbs max before catching and getting stuck. I returned and got a replacement for 1 pedestal but same issue. This is 3 pedestals total all with the same issue. These are defective and would not recommend to my worst enemy. Paid $500 for stands that do not function.

Washer pedestal works good dryer pedestal has been horrible since we got it barley closes now and no warrenty so basically you have to get a new one in order to match your washer. Definatley poor business with Ge I paid over 2000$ for this set. Will buy LG next time
Roxy52711/10/2023 04:57 PM
The drawer slides broke on both of my pedestals after 3 months of normal use. Hopefully GE will honor the warranty and make this right.
Tstrong76007/02/2023 01:42 AM
Draws to Pedestals cannot handle any weight at all. One gallon of laundry detergent and the bottom of the draw binds on the frame. Previous LG set did not have this issue at all. There is no way GE tested this product. Bray and Scarff in Columbia MD at time of sale said the bins were large and deep allowing for laundry detergents to be stored. Called a Bray and Scarff tech out to see if there was anything they could do, he said no one puts laundry detergent in these, only towels? Really?? GE needs to correct the problem and send new ones out.

Purchased this pedestal for our new GE Profile Dryer. Appliances at Lakeside said that it is the only pedestal that GE makes. However, according to "Sharon" at GE, GE does not make this pedestal nor do they install. Now the problem, the instructions call for installing the front brackets of the pedestal to the dryer ". . .using the 2 holes provided. . .". There are NOT 2 holes provided. There are no holes. Now I'm stuck with a pedestal that I can't use. "Sharon" said to return it to the appliance store. Will have to pay a restocking fee. How nice. Great customer service, GE.

Just purchased the GFW550SSNWW model and the only pedestal available for it that has a drawer is this 16" high model. I have standard height cabinets above my washer and dryer connections. Why is this not available in the 13" model??? My last 3 front load washing machines had pedestals that fit. Why does yours have to be so tall or at least provide another shorter option. Most of us don't want to have to remodel our laundry rooms just beacus we purchase your product!!

This product is awful. We’re on our second pedestal, both professionally installed. The first one started warping and causing a violent washer sway within a week. GE refused to refund or replace, because we didn’t report the problem within 48 hours of delivery. The dealer we bought it from forked out the money at their expense to replace it. The new one now immediately has the exact same problem. They are selling a defective product and should be embarrassed; instead they refuse to admit their product’s poor design and quality and blame the customer, installers, and vendors.

I wish I'd read these reviews before we bought our new GE dryer and pedestal. After four months, the drawer began coming off track. The left rail is clearly defective and sounds like a manufacturing defect. 4 months = 16 weeks = 4 loads of laundry per week = opening the drawer 64 times before it failed. That's about $4 for each pull. Called GE who says accessories don't have a warranty, but they'll still dispatch a repair person to take a look. Oops, we're overbooked in your area, we'll have to report out to a third party. Oops, we don't have any third parties in your area, we'll have to send it to our special search team. I am very pleased with the dryer, which at $1K I better be, but for the moment I spent an extra ~$250 for a decorative useless box for it to sit on. Here's hoping the GE-located repair person makes it right, but based on these reviews, I suspect there's a sagging issue around the corner.
