First, this fridge is beautiful with a TON of space. I’ve had a total of 3 of these fridges in the matter of 6 days. The first one arrived with a broken door guide. The unit was replaced by the retailer. The replacement started leaking water from the top hinge on the first day. Installers had to remove the doors to get it in my house. Well the water line travels from the top of the fridge through the top of the left door and down to the dispenser. The clip that allows you to disconnect the water line to remove the door was damaged either during manufacturing or installation. The second unit was replaced with a third unit. The third unit arrived with a deep scratch on the left door, pitting/rusting near the water dispenser and it was making a loud noise non stop. The third unit was replaced with an entirely different fridge…the counter depth french door Kitchenaid (KRFC704FPS). That fridge has been awesome despite the smaller capacity. Thank goodness the retailer was so awesome but this fridge was awful.

I was so excited about my new refrigerator. It’s gorgeous and everything is wonderful about it EXCEPT the left door will not stay open. When I open it and let go of the handle the door swings to almost closed. When holding a dish with two hands, it’s difficult to actually put it in the refrigerator. I have to maneuver my shoulder inside to prop the door open. After literally hours on hold with KitchenAid, they’ve sent out two different repair people on two different occasions. Both times the repairmen spoke directly with Kithchenaid technicians describing that the issue, and both times the technicians determined there was nothing is wrong with the refrigerator, that this is how it was designed. In addition I was told that my warranty is voided because I had a repair person (that kitchenaid coordinated) come out to try to repair it. I purchased directly from KitchenAid’s website, paying a couple hundred dollars more, with the hopes I would have superior customer support in the event I might need it. Just so disappointed by all this. I’ve seen reviews on the Internet that other people’s doors won’t stay open, at the same I’ve seen customer photos here on KitchenAid’s website that shows the door staying open. So there’s obviously inconsistencies here. I’ll also add that before purchasing I went to two different Lowe’s to look at the refrigerator in person. At both locations the floor model door stay open. I was told by Kitchenaid that the floors at Lowe’s may be different from mine, and maybe that’s why my door won’t work properly. Really?

I am very happy with the fridge itself, nice features and lots of space. My disappointment is in the French doors not closing without assistance. My previous same style Frigidaire doors would slowly close. i have gone thru and leveled the fridge and even allowed it to tilt back slightly and they still need assistance. With kids in the house it something we have to constantly monitor. I did reach out to where i purchased and they said its not common for the French doors to close automatically. I find that odd since my other units in a different brand closed just fine, something i wish i would of inquired about or payed closer attention too prior to purchase.

We like: Refrigerator has lots of room. Nice adjustable shelves. We like the compartments in the freezer and having a place for pizzas. We aren't thrilled: water dispenser is considerable distance toward outside of opening and doesn't allow for much space to put a glass. Often end up dripping water when stop filling glass if just pull glass away from dispenser. I ended up pushing the dispenser with my hand instead of the glass in order to compensate for this. Wish doors closed easier. You have make sure they have closed as simply pushing them does not necessarily close them all the way. The lights are fairly dim in the platinum interior.

We really like the consistency of the cooling in the refrigerator section and the freezer compartment. We have refrigerator thermometers in each compartment and the temps are right on. 37 degrees and 0 degrees. That's where the controls are set. The fridge is amazingly quiet too. The issue we have is the left hand refrigerator door will not stay open. You let go of it and it closes halfway. It also has a creaking sound too. I think the problem is the water lines leading to the door mounted ice maker/water dispenser are too stiff and will not flex when pivoting the door open. The floor models in the stores did not do this. I am going to need to arrange for a service call.

We’ve had the refrigerator for a week now, it’s missing the shaft in the door ice maker that turn the auger to move the ice into the door. I called customer service and waited 30 minute's for them to ann and they told me I needed to provide them the actual part number for them to send me. Sent pictures of the door and ice machine and was on the phone for an hour. She was getting upset with me and short telling me that I can not go anywhere to get the part I have to provide her the part number and she was going to send me a diagram. She sent the wrong diagram then tried to get off the phone saying I had to call back. It’s insane to think the customer has to diagnose and fix the problem on a brand new refrigerator. I asked why I need to fix their issue and I wanted someone to come and look at it. Finally she set up a service date 2 weeks later and asked if there was anything else then hung up before I could answer. Would love to speak to someone about QC and CS but I’m sure it means nothing. We paid $2,200 for a refrigerator that doesn’t fully function. Thanks kitchen aid!

Ice jams up in the shoot, then dumps out all over our new flooring when it does come out. Please reach out to me so you can fix or replace this fridge.

We have had this for about a month and couple not be happier. This fridge holds so much stuff. We went grocery shopping and it still looks empty. Also the water comes out of the machine ice cold. I will say this fridge dents very very easily. If you have kids or even pets who hit the front of it, or place a magnet on it to hard it will leave a dent which is very disappointing. Also the ice maker is very loud when filling up. Sounds like a car with a bad belt. Hence why only 4 stars. Besides that the functionality of the fridge is still worth every penny.

We bought this model 3 weeks ago. After finally receiving it and waiting the required time for it to cool, we discovered that the left door would not stay open. After calling the appliance store and awaiting a service call a week later, the technician stated that there was nothing technically wrong with the refrigerator because the design of the unit had all wiring going down the left door and this wiring causes tension so the door will not stay open. I stated that this wasn’t evident at the showroom so was this just mine? After 2 phone calls with the company one representative finally had the answer that made sense. The stores only hook up lights so the entire system isn’t hooked up thus no tension. The representative also stated that there were no records of any complaints regarding door. If you have this unit please call.

genuinely spacious and well thought out for everyday family use—the wide shelves and deep door bins make organizing groceries easy, and the exterior water and ice dispenser is super convenient without constantly opening the doors. It also has a sleek, high-end look that elevates the kitchen, and the cooling has been consistent so food stays fresh longer. That said, there are a few downsides: it’s quite large and heavy, so it can be tricky to fit through doorways or smaller kitchens, the exterior dispenser slightly reduces interior door storage, and the price (at full retail) is definitely on the higher side, making it feel like a premium investment rather than a casual purchase. Overall, it’s a great fridge if you value capacity, design, and convenience, but it’s best suited for homes that can accommodate its size and cost.

I purchased this refrigerator 5 months ago. It is everything I hoped it would be be!!!
MTurch03/29/2026 03:54 AM
We bought this refrigerator in October 2025. The refrigerator section quit in December 2025. Later the ice maker quit. It took me a few days to get to a live agent in the right department. They were helpful and did all they could do. They were nice. The repairmen came and evaluated the situation. On the second visit they told us what parts they would order. The repairmen will make their third visit on March 17. They would have been here a couple of weeks earlier, but the parts they are replacing were backordered. When it went out the first time we lost everything in the refrigerator. The freezer is the only section that is still working. Considering how much we paid for it, we have been very disappointed in our experience with this appliance. I get emails and mail about getting coverage for my new appliance. I have the regular warranty that came with the refrigerator. I also bought an extended warranty. The temperature in the refrigerator this morning was 64 f. Our experience has been disappointing.

Very roomy fridge. Three concerns. First a considerable amount of space is lost because of the wood grained trim on the main shelf makes it difficult to put items right to the edge of the shelf. Second, the freezer drawer and pull out shelf do not slide easily. and third, the protective plastic film that was on the doors leaves a raggedly edge that looks terrible. This is because the film is installed under where the stainless meets the inner doors.

I bought about a month ago, very pleased with our purchase. The freezer is great , I buy a lot of frozen food and I still have not been able to completely fill it since there is so much space. It is very spacious and plenty of room. Just which it was a little brighter inside , used to the interiors being white and bright and its gray inside ,the light in the freezer is little dull but the space makes up for the light. It is very quiet ,you don’t hear any sounds coming from it. The ice cubes are little but they get the job done getting things cold.

I bought this refrigerator and had it delivered late December, early January. We were out of the country and our kitchen was being remodeled. We had returned the first week of January and tried the icemaker. The icemaker made ice but it wouldn't dispense it. I called the dealer and was told to call Whirlpool. I explained what the problem and instead of sending a technician out to check out the problem, after 4 weeks they sent the wrong part. The second part didn't work either. Finally the problem was discovered to be a problem in the wires in the door and that the entire door has to be replaced. We are still waiting for the door to be delivered to us. Bottom line, I am very disappointed with the quality of the refrigerator, the response of the dealer, and especially with Whirlpool customer service. Three months after being installed, still no ice dispensing from the ice maker.

Had it a week- doors uneven; interior damage; very dim lights in both refrigerator and freezer
Problem1111/18/2025 07:09 AM
This fridge was provided as a replacement to KRFF577KPS. We preferred that one to this one for multiple reasons, but it went through two compressors within a year of purchasing it. This model feels cheaper. The plastic in both compartments feels flimsier. The lighting isn't as good. The leveling system isn't as good. The worst part is that the left-side door slams on us. We have to hold it open in order to use the fridge. There is a drawer that spans the width of the interior that can't open without us holding the door open. We contacted Whirlpool support, and they stated that it's 'operating as designed'. How can it be operating as designed when one door stays open (properly) but the other doesn't? Which design is proper? We've gotten to the end of our rope, since Whirlpool continues to not deal with the issue. The link below documents with videos and images how the fridge can be perfectly level, but still demonstrates the issue. And still we get no help from Whirlpool support. I wouldn't just avoid this fridge; I would avoid Whirlpool and all subsidiaries that feed through their support network. They don't care. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gsCbdHkFtU_cs06RkxwonoW1JcpMDQNQ?usp=sharing

I bought a brand new refrigerator from Lowe’s, after 3 damaged refrigerators showed up to my house, my order was canceled. I settled with the least damaged one, door doesn’t open correctly. I called kitchenaid a month ago to schedule a cosmetic repair and still haven’t been contacted for any repairs. Worst experience I’ve ever had trying to purchase an appliance.

We bought this 20 days ago to replace a KichenAid Refrigerator that we loved but only lasted 6 years and had to be repaired twice at a cost of $2100. BUT because we liked the old fridge so much we are taking a chance that this new one will last. The new one has advantages over the old one as follows: the upper door shelves are much roomier than our old one and hold way more items. The ice door has two shelves and our old had only one shelf and yet the ice capacity is the same, definitely a plus. The refrigerator shelves are very roomy and it is easier to see what is in the back. There were 2 drawers and the bottom area in our old freezer and the new one has only 1 drawer but there is still adequate space in the freezer and it has the Pizza section in front like the old one so we are happy with the new freezer area. Even though we loved our old KitchenAid and hated to get rid of it, we are very happy with the new 30 cubic feet fridge.

Ordering and delivery went smoothly. Day 1 after cleaning off all the plastic residue, and stocking the fridge, we realized the left door would not stay open, making it difficult to open the lower slide out drawer, you have to hold open the door with your shoulder to access. 2 weeks later, even after having purchased the $ Service Plan, the problem has not been resolved. Service company delayed twice (30 Days) after "next day" appointment. Had to escalate the problem to second level, waiting for response from Whirlpool. The manual says it takes 48 hours for temp to stabilize, and for ice to start dropping. Took 3-4 days for first ice to drop. Ice maker now working. Still holding door open with my shoulder. :( Second KitchenAid fridge purchase. Probably would not reccommend or purchase again. Tried to be patriotic and purchase Made in USA after previous top of line 5 door KA had to be replaced due to on-going problems. Couldn't take it anymore after only 5 years.

Love the amount of storage space in the main area of the refrigerator. Unfortunately thrre was a manufacturer defect as there was a screw missing for the right side door handle. Wr had the refrigerator delivered on 2/26/26 and are still waiting for the screw to put the handle on the right door.

Bought this refrigerator to replace a competitors refrigerator that was only 4 years old. It’s a great design with really nice features. Good storage location and really like the pull out shelf. Makes it easier to remove heavy items stored on the shelf. Keeps all the products stored cold.

I bought this refrigerator 3 months ago and am very pleased with the high quality of the KitchenAid brand. This refrigerator hold a lot of stuff and I love the double door with the bottom freezer. Owned another brand (I won't mention) and it was not near the quality of the KitchenAid.
dayton52603/28/2026 04:39 AM
I’m really enjoying my new KitchenAid refrigerator with French doors. The one complaint I have is when you open the left side and close it the right side will open and close and you need to push it closed or close it with some force in order for it to close. It runs very quietly.
