• I expected something better from Whirlpool. I bought this particular model only because it is right size for my kitchen, where there are cabinets on both sides and on the top of the refrigerator. Water dispenser is located too far out and the water is dripping down on the door and into the ( hardwood) floor. Front of the fridge has always stains from the dripping water. The sides of the fridge ( top and bottom) look completely unfinished - all pics attached. This refrigerator is 3 months old. I’m very unhappy.

• We purchased this unit on Feb. 11 it was delivered on the 18th. We within days began to experience freezing in the refrigerator. I was told it was set at 37* which is the recommended temperature. On 3 different times we had a technician (s) out to try and fix the problem with Whirlpool on the phone. It was finally determined that we have a faulty unit, the damper will not open and close between the freezer and refrigerator. We will need a new unit. We decided with our sales person that we would like to upgrade. We thought that the freezer space was minimal. It seems that the unit runs a lot. It is noisy, but not a nuisance. One of the drawers on the refrigerator side is also tough to open, and pulls the glass out with it. We are also disappointed that a manual did not come with this unit. We had to try to figure out how to adjust the temperature, even the technician could not find a schematic of any kind (under, beneath) anywhere.

• We had a difficult time finding a side by side doors refrigerator to fit the relatively small opening we have in our kitchen, so we were very pleased to find this one. So far, we're extremely happy with it. I feel it's pretty energy efficient and the stainless steel looks sharp. It's nice to have a choice between ice cubes or crushed ice from the dispenser. Theres a good deal of room in the fridge, as it is deep, but not extremely wide. That's perfect for us due to the small area we had to squeeze it into. It's also very well-lit inside, easy to get to shelves and eady to see all shelves. Very happy with this purchase.

• Home warranty offered this as an option comparable to my old fridge. I chose cuz cubic feet and and stainless steel. However my old fridge did not have extra 2-3 inches that is not storage, or top added (unsure if included in measurement). Has no snack/cooler drawer like my other 3 fridges had and empty area where shelf seems should be but I was told I could purchase these things. Received June 16, 2022, by 7 July, 3 weeks in, it had stopped cooling and freezer had frost build up. Called whirlpool who said tech would come out but if not manufacturing problem fee was $150. I said this fridge is 3 weeks old. Anyways tech found heating element not working and stated unfortunately sometimes they come with bad elements. That was 18 July, had to order parts. Was told could unplug, defrost and plug back to make it cold again until parts came, but would need to defrost again before repair. Said it would work for any 3 weeks. Gratefully I have fridge in garage so no, not gonna do that. I did lose some food by the time we realized what had happened. It's 27 July and I'm still waiting. If I didn't have an extra fridge I'd have lost all my food from a defect that seems to be known about by techs. I choose whirlpool because has good name, but disappointed from all the issues

• The WRS311SDHB came with my mobile home. Not even 7 mo in, all of the drawers are shredding on the tracks. I have white flakes all over my shelves from the plastic runners falling apart. Can’t wait to hear from whirlpool to hear what they can or cannot do. Has any else have this problem with their drawers.

• I realize that the older I get the worse products are made. I have never heard of having a water dispense means you would get tap water. Guess this makes me stupid to think you would get cold water out of a fridge. The shelves cannot be moved like my old one (GE). The only reason I bought this fridge is it is only one I could find that would fit between existing cabinets. The drawers are not sturdy at all. I should have probably just had my old one repaired - too late now. I also do not like that I paid for the extended 5 yr. warranty and starts the day I paid for it not the date the fridge was delivered - 3 mos. later.

• Massive credit to Whirlpool employees for decades making a quality product. Our previous refrigerator was an earlier version of this model. It lasted 36 years! (I have the receipt -see photo) It still worked just fine, but some interior plastic parts were getting brittle. I wanted to replace it with a bottom freezer model, but quickly learned that due to our built-ins, that was not an option. Unless I wanted to tear out cabinetry, the only refrigerator that fit - from any brand - was an updated version of what I had. I'm impressed that after 36 years, the new refrigerator cost only $350 more than the original from 1986. Thank you for still making it; otherwise this would have been a costly upgrade. My only critique is that I wish trends were different. Stainless steel is the only option. If it was offered in an update of the old cladding (enameled paint) I'd have gotten that instead, but I know this is not on trend. Stainless steel appliances rule the industry, but I find them much harder to keep spotless.

• We bought this a month ago but there was no in store display so all we had to go by was the pictures online in the store. The water and ice maker are the worst a designer can design..They designed the light under and to the far back of the water and ice dispenser, so you can't see jack when dispensing either one..have to use my cellphone light or turn on the kitchen light! The freezer is tiny, and the refrigerator shelfs are set to what they want them, and can't be changed to what we want them..plus the fridge did NOT come with a slide out snack tray..so disappointed...The good thing is the fridge and freezer does what it is supposed to do and that is to keep things cold...would not recommend to anyone...if they ever designed a better one and wanted to give me a free exchange I would go for it

• We ordered it in December and it was delivered in March, but it was definitely worth waiting for. We would have like to get a larger one, but did not have the space;''. This seems so much bigger than our previous one. It it incredibly well lit - stuff can't hide in the back. The adjustable bins on the door are terrific (although we would have liked a few more adjustment options - that is where I store my spices). Plus it is SO quiet. And the shiny black door looks terrific and doesn't show fingerprints. We are really pleased!

• I needed a new refrigerator. I have a Whirlpool fridge that is in my garage and it is 32 years old. I use it for a second fridge. The new one is a little noisy and the placement of the filter is crazy, in my opinion. It is down at the very bottom and you have to open the freezer door to change it. May be a little difficult for an older person to change. Light in fridge is a little dimmer than the older one, and it doesn't have a drawer for cheese, lunch meat, etc.

• We purchased this side by side refrigerator from Homedepot... That was our first mistake because once it was in our home ANY problems required resolution through Whirlpool. It has been a month and we still have not heard from Whirlpool. The poems is that the refrigerator door is dull, turns a whitish gray when touched and stress terribly when cleaned with Mild soap and warm water with a micro fiber cloth. The freezer side door is just fine! The finish on the doors clearly do not match. The refrigerator itself functions fine but needs more shelving and sturdier draws. We have a small space which limits our options and apparently the quality of Whirlpools products and service.

• I waited 4 months for this refrigerator, because I wanted bisque to match the stove and dishwasher. It looks great. However, it is very loud. I can hear it out in my living room and down the hall. If I had been able to hear it before I bought it, I never would have. I am very disappointed. I also don't like that the ice maker takes up so much room. Yes, I have had a repairman out to look at it; he agreed it was loud but said there is nothing to be done about it. I've looked into acoustic panels, etc., but those appear to not have good results. Don't buy this model if sound is important to you!

• Our new Whirlpool refrigerator replaced a Whirlpool we'd bought in 1993. The new one, while comparably priced, is clearly of a much lower quality. The fit, the feel, the thin, chintzy feel to it, makes it obvious that quality was sacrificed to lower pricing. In addition, the water dispenser in the freezer door has dripped since we got it, and the drips cause stains on the stainless steel exterior. A warranty repair fellow replace the major control unit in the water, ice dispenser, in a lengthy procedure that consumed a good fit of our time. That didn't correct the problem, and now we're waiting on a valve he'll replace. We hope the problem can finally be fixed.

• I bought this refrigerator since I thought it was identical to our old Whirlpool side-by-side frig. We need 33" wide to fit in the space between our cupboards. The refrig is good. However, it is not identical to our old Whirlpool side-by-side. The old one had 3 drawers- 2 crisper drawers (one for fruit and one for vegetables)and one smaller drawer for eggs, butter, lunch meat, etc. This new side-by-side refrig only has 2 drawers and that is a draw back. This size needed to be special ordered. Best Buy didn't have any on the sales floor to see so I didn't realize until is was delivered that it was missing one drawer.

• I recently spoke with the Livonia Menards store regarding damage to a Whirlpool Fridge that was delivered on April 6th 2023. Whirlpool sent a representative to my home shortly after for an inspection of the fridge to confirm the damage. Since we would both benefit with the sale of the fridge, I'm requesting some compensation to settle this.

• I bought this a month ago and if the owner of the business establishment weren't a long time personal friend, I would ask to return it in a heartbeat. 1. The shelves do not extend to the back of the refrigerator and leave much of the measured cubic footage space unusable. 2. The shelves are adjustable to a limited extent - very limited, not really convenient. 3. The temperatures (fridge, and freezer) are fixed locations, not adjustable by degrees. 4. The items on the top shelf of the refrigerator freeze as the freezer adjusts to it's temperature and auto defrost. 5. The ice maker makes a racket, an awful lot of noise throughout the day and night. 6. The ice maker filter is inconveniently placed.

• I bought a new 2026 manufactured home and all the appliance are Whirlpool. The home was delivered on Nov. 7, 2025 and the icemaker does not work. So I called Whirlpool and they told me that they didn't have a service tech in my area, but I could find one myself and pay their fee and they would reimburse me up to $200 and if any parts needed to be ordered I needed to contact them and they will mail the parts free of charge to my address. So i put in a call to their number 866-698-2538 and I as on hold for 45 minutes and then the call drops. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again. This is horrible and they are no help what so ever.

• It's not perfect, but it gets the job done. I wrote this review to set the record straight about the many complaints about the water and ice dispenser. We almost didn't buy this model because of all the complaints in reviews. The arrangement may be a little different than other side by sides, but it's not a problem or big adjustment. The appliance does have quirks, it's a bit noisy (no more or less than our last GE), and if you don't stock a lot of food, it moves forward a little when you open the door, but it's not a big deal. It's a pretty good deal for the cost, and it's hard to get a side by side these days with these measurements.

• If you are expecting a automatic ice maker, don't buy this one. The arm lifts up occasionally, otherwise if you don't lift it manually it will overfill tray and cubes end up in freezer section. It is advertised as being able to choose the ideal temperature, it has 4 settings and the closest I can get to ideal is either 34 degrees or 40 degrees, nothing in between. Whirlpool sent out a repair man and I was told everything is normal.

• I had to order this refrigerator and waited just over a month to receive. It is VERY cheaply made and the ice machine has been a problem since day 1. You cannot use it on crushed ice or it will come out of position and the ice dispenser won't work at all. It will stay in position on ice cube only. The refrigerator side has a difficult time staying cold. We are still working with it but we have to stay on top of it. We have very little in it and we have two gauges in it to keep track of the temperature. Freezer is cold. Extremely disappointed.

• I purchased this refrigerator on line from Lowe's. With my measurements and color selection, biscuit, there was only 1 choice. After asking questions about the icemaker and interior lighting and shelves, I felt this would work for me. Imagine my surprise and amazement to find out after installation and waiting 24 hours for the water to get cold, that the refrigerator water never cools...only room temperature. Now who in this day and age would buy a side by side refrigerator where the water never comes out cold? The 35 year old refrigerator this new one replaces had this feature. Of all the questions I asked about the workings of this refrigerator, it never occurred to me to ask if the water would be cold coming out. I was absolutely astounded. I found this out through a chat with Whirlpool where she informed me that that model does not include this feature. Again, who manufactures a refrigerator that they believe someone would want that does not dispense cold water? if it had not already been installed and the other refrigerator not been moved out, I would have had them take it back. So no, I would not recommend a Whirlpool refrigerator to anyone unless they specifically asked this very stupid, stupid question.
