• I am not sure why GE is not advertising this more. With a heat pump that works down to 5 degrees, this AC is a New Yorker's dream. I don't actually own one at this price but I'm writing a review in hopes that this gets more traction and can eventually go on sale and cross the threshold of saving money vs using space heaters. If GE is willing to give me a discount on a unit before that, I would love to make an in depth review covering using it in Manhattan.

• The Installation was easy, Both the Heat and Cooling work beyond what I’d expect, it’s really quiet but with any system you hear the air, both the heat and Cooling Covers the entire room and more, Compared to my old unit I can say 100% with running it more often I actually used less Energy and saved Money on my Electric Bill!

• Installed in aluminum framed horizontal window with minor frame modifications to the window. Unit runs nicely and cools my 450 sq.ft. insulated shop. Nice to have cooling where as in the past I only had gas heat for the winter. Everything works and I like the remote control.

• Heat pump installed in a ~700sqft addition to the house that doesn't have central air, and has been fantastic for keeping the room comfortable! Spring has been fairly mild, so heating and cooling hasn't been particularly challenging, and it's nice to see the heat pump draws relatively low power (<600W) typically. I look forward to seeing how it performs in with hotter/colder temperatures! The unit does make a non-trivial amount of noise on high, but the quiet mode still performs well and dramatically reduces sound. I have not tried any of the connectivity apps, prefer to just use the simple front panel buttons. Installation was fairly straight-forward.

• We had an older AC/Heating wall unit in a bonus room over our garage. It died and we were able to slip this unit into the secured casing of the older unit. Got it installed. It is relatively quiet and seems to be cooling as it should. A little soon to be writing a review... but so far, so good.

• Unfortunate design flaw with this product. It's worked great to heat my NY apartment at temps all the way into the teens, until the big storm hit yesterday. As snow and ice accumulated in the pan below the condenser fan, the defrost cycle did very little to help. You'd hear the heat pump start to run, then it attempts to spin the fan, but because snow and ice had entered through the side vents (see pic), it shakes, makes a brrt sound, tries two more times, and quits. Since we're expecting temps to stay below freezing for another week, I had to remove the entire unit from the window to fully defrost it indoors before re-installing it again. Not a fun thing to have to do each time it snows. I'm considering putting some temporary screen material over the side vents during winter to prevent this accumulation from happening any time it snows.

• I live in a northern climate. With climate change we've been getting much milder winters. It's late December now and 42F out. I am always chilly so I bought this as a supplemental heater in the winter. But at that outdoor temp it seems to blow out lukewarm air at best. I can imagine the colder it gets from here the less well it will perform as a heater. I do like the app features. Set up was fairly straightforward, but it is a two person job. It plugs into a standard 110 outlet which is a big bonus. I would, however like there to be some indication that the unit is on. When adjusting settings the display lights up. But when operating or idling there is nothing lit on the unit itself.

• Incorrect description. The sides do not fit windows that are 42". My windows are 36" and these side panels do not fit. Still trying to get it installed. It is noisy. Not sure how it cools or heats yet. Will update at a later time. I bought 2 units.

• I originally bought the unit due to it having a heat pump for in the winter. I recently purchased this unit just a few months ago and it has been great but now that winter is here and had our first snow and ice accumulates all over the fan and it makes a few god-awful noisse and does not work properly and I cannot even use it when I need it the most.

• First impression out of the box was that there's a lot of plastic and it seems cheaply constructed. Once installed it cools ok but it's quite noisy even on the lowest fan setting. I switched to quiet mode and it was much quieter but it does turn the fan speed away down. I find I need a higher fan speed on very hot days or to initially cool the room if the unit has been off for a while. The next problem is that there doesn't seem to be a way to switch to quiet mode from the app. So if I turn up the fan, I need to use the remote (or the button on the front panel) to switch back to quiet. Finally, the unit sometimes seems to switch out of quiet mode by itself sometimes. When this happens I can't even get back to quiet mode with the remote. I have to turn the unit off for a few minutes and then back on. It does come back on in quiet mode on this case. Seems like a firmware issue and happens (at different times) to both of the units I have.

• This GE window air conditioner has been a huge disappointment. It developed an electrical problem that caused the heat pump to stop working entirely, which meant the heat would not work at all. When you’re relying on this unit for both cooling and heating, that kind of failure is unacceptable. For the price, I expected a reliable product, but instead I got something that failed when I needed it most. To make matters worse, getting help from GE was extremely frustrating, with no clear support or solutions offered. The only offer they would even give me was a rebate for the price of the air conditioner, but the catch was I had to purchase another GE window air conditioner than send my receipt in to get refunded. Why would I waste even more money on buying the same unit just to be out even more money than I already am. I would love for them to just refund my money. This is one of the worst one’s I have ever bought only lasted a couple weeks. I would not recommend this unit to anyone. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING GE IT IS A WASTE WORST PRODUCT EVER AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVR !!!!

• This window AC unit is terrible. It makes a loud noise in energy saving mode, sounding like a helicopter, very load. It also fails to connect to the app. Worst window AC ever! I do not recommended.
