• The product was a replacement for a failed GE air conditioner. I originally purchased the unit because I have another GE air conditioner, a GE 11.8 BTU air conditioner, that is still operational after 50 years.

• Overall a good purchase. This air conditioner is quiet, effective, strong. It's in the bedroom and also cools off the living room. Easy to install. The controls are clear and obvious. The capacity is just right for a bedroom.

• We're very happy with this GE Air Conditioner! Installed easily (into an existing wall sleeve), cools very well, looks great in our bedroom, and has good features. It operates quietly and the WiFi remote control works well also. Our previous GE unit lasted for 10 years, hopefully this new one will too.

• This AC works great so far. We’ve only had it for three weeks and it works well. The fan speeds are a great help since it can run quiet at night. The only thing I would improve is the remote control needs some illumination since you can’t see the settings in the middle of the night and you don’t want to turn on a bright light.

• Not pretty. This was a replacement for an old GE AC in our master bedroom. We needed a sleeve-compatible unit so our selection was limited. Good performance offset by very poor appearance. The filtration area is black and looks almost unfinished. We saw a picture of the unit before we bought it but didn't realize how harsh (eye-sore) the filtration area was until the unit was installed. Wish we could return it, but that's not how it works with appliances. We switched the unit with the another GE AC from another far-end bedroom so we wouldn't have to see it in the master and will use it during the extreme hot days to help cool the house. Until then, the new unit will be dormant and covered.

• Not a pretty unit. The air filter is very visible and black. My other GE AC filter blends in with the unit’s outer cover thereby making to barely noticeable. Also, the filter cover removal is not conducive for a woman who takes pride in her finger nails. The filter cover needs to be man-handled to remove. The filter screen is warped so that it does not fully cover the coils.

• The constant loud beep every time you change the temperature or setting is beyond frustrating. There is no way to mute it—not on the control panel, not on the remote, not even in the SmartHQ app. If you plan to use this in a bedroom or quiet space, prepare to be annoyed. Adjust the temperature at night? BEEP. Change fan speed? BEEP. It’s intrusive and completely unnecessary in 2025 when other brands offer a mute option. Customer service was no help at all. They basically told me the noise is “normal” and there’s nothing they can do. For such an expensive unit, this design flaw is unacceptable. GE should add a software option to disable or reduce the beep. Until then, I would not recommend this for anyone who values peace and quiet.

• Although this unit is brand new an WiFi, it is considerably louder than the older unit I had with the knobs and doesn't get as cold. I've had it for about 2 months and I keep it at 62 running all night on high and still not as cool as it once used to be. I purchased 3 of these units for my home for the ease of app usage, to be a semi smart home and I'm extremely disappointed. I have buyers remorse and wish I kept my very old, old, perfectly good knob units.
