• It was very easy to install. Guidelines are very clear. As soon as I installed, I felt the difference in the water quality while even washing my hands. Very good product and I strongly suggest it.

• This is our second GE Water Softener, and after 8 years I'm thinking of replacing it with another GE GXSH40V Water softener. Had no problems with it but keeping it clean and installing salt. Its getting old, and the first time I have any issues, it will be replaced with the same model.

• I bought this to replace the GXSH45V system that came with the house 4 years ago whose circuit board died. Since since my previous system is no longer available and replacement cost of the circuit board was only 100 or so dollars less than replacement of the entire system, I bought a new system. We will see how things go. Do it yourself installation was a breeze since the hookups were identical to my old system. I'll update this if it goes south. By the way the replacement cost of that particular circuit board should be somewhere in the area of 150 bucks instead of 600.

• We bought a Water Boss and could not get it to stop leaking and returned it. Our neighbors have had a GE for several years and love it. We decided to try it and couldn't be happier! This is a very nice water softener and are very pleased with it.
