I purchased a a new kitchen aid microwave with air fry function in 2023. While using one of the preset air fry functions with the tray that is designed to be used with this function caught on fire (see photos). Luckily I was close by and the fire was contained to the inside of the microwave. I called customer service, since it was out of warranty, they were not willing to replace the unit, which is very unfortunate.

Was a bit confused when the microwave was delivered without the air fry basket and baking tray just a notice stating, "An Air Fry Basket and Baking Tray are included as part of your purchase. It will ship separately upon completion of the steps below at no additional cost. How to Redeem: 1. Register your appliance online at regster.kitchenaid.com Be sure to enter a valid email address. 2. Once registered, you will receive an email with instructions on how to claim your offer. Registration was confirmed on May 11, 2025. On June 10, I received a thank you for my recent order & "our goal" is to make your appliance parts order as clear & easy as possible, so we want to let you know what to expect. What to expect: When your part(s) have shipped we will contact you by email with tracking information. As of 8/4/2025 have not received said email.

I wish I would have purchased a regular microwave and air fryer instead of this All-in-one microwave. I would have saved a lot of money and frustration. The instruction guide is limited and does not give instructions on how to prepare the food to be cooked. Do I coat the potatoes with oil before using the air fryer as I did in my old air fryer? Seems like you should, but I will just have to go by my best guess.. There has been too much guesswork and trial and error involved with a microwave that cost $1000.00
