This Kitchen Aid so much better than the LG! I have had this fridge for two months now and I absolutely love it: wine rack, size, ice, freezer!! I especially like Lowe’s! I originally bought an LG but the doors were really thick and I had to pull far out of my cabinet to open them. The LG also didn’t go with the rest of my kitchen. The LG also arrived chipped. Lowes took it back without a problem and no restocking fees. They also let me return the dishwasher so I can buy a matching set of this brand, Kitchen Aid. I’m really happy I got this Kitchen Aid refrigerator. I was concerned because it’s about a half an inch higher than other refrigerators in its class according to specs, and I have a limited openings space. But the refrigerator is actually about 1/4 to 1/8 “ less than than what the specs say, so it’s really same height as others in its class. The doors are also thinner which mean that it doesn’t have to stick away out of the cabinet to open up. It’s hard to see from the picture below but we’ve recessed the back of our wall to push back the refrigerator. The LG had to stick out 4”. This one can be back further and still open. The bottom freezer stores pizza boxes and ice cream well, and the ice maker makes large cubes. It’s so easy to remove the bucket to dump in an ice chest or scoop in a cup. The main refrigerator has a water dispenser inside which is great— it takes up less space. We never use it anyway. I also love love love the built-in wine rack. We got the matching dishwasher with three shelves. It’s great too. I love the modern look, and the handles grip better than the LG and look sharp. I included some pictures so you can see the refrigerator in use. I know I wish I had more pictures before I made my buying decision. Obviously we don’t organize our groceries well but you can see that this refrigerator really packs a lot of food in it

I love this refrigerator. It had everything I wanted. Ice maker in freezer, check. Slide away half shelf, check. Water dispenser on the inside of fridge, check. Spacious, check. Door alarm, check. And I love the look, white outside with chrome accents. But the freezer door has a design flaw. It disengages a full 2" on the left side before the right side follows. Customer service was really great to work with. They sent 4 replacements, but all did the same thing. Then they sent a repairman out. The problem is the rails that the freezer door glides out on, one side had teeth all the way back and the other side was smooth the first 2" then had teeth for the remaining. Not a huge problem, and if you're right handed you might never notice it. But if you don't pull the freezer handle out dead center or to the right, it will do this.

I am a big KitchenAid fan so when my refrigerator, which I ordered in May, was finally delivered today I was thrilled. But unfortunately, when I was putting the shelf that holds the fruit and vegetable bins, in place I noticed exposed styrofoam and what appears to be unfinished slots for the shelf. I call customer service and spent 110 minutes on hold with resolution.

This was a replacement for previous unit, it is doing the same thing!! Not acceptable!!

This fridge has been so great for us...the space, the features--it was the perfect choice for our modern farmhouse home! We built a new home and put all Kitchenaid black stainless appliances in and they are absolutely beautiful! I do not think we could have chosen anything better!

I owned my first KitchenAid appliance in the 1980's and have always been impressed with the quality and design, 3 dishwashers, 2 stoves, numerous small appliances, KitchenAid has always been my Go To. After this refrigerator was installed, I was assembling the shelves drawers etc. noticed the middle shelf was defective not secure to the left side and back of the Fridge. The only way to keep the shelf from moving up and down is when the drawer is shut. Also the water container behind middle shelf and produce drawers has exposed tubing and is surrounded by exposed Styrofoam. What were you thinking, Is this how it's supposed to be? Or is this a Monday Friday refrigerator. How are you supposed to keep this clean? So not real happy with the design, I like the inside of my fridge to be easy to clean how are you supposed to keep styrofoam clean? It's going back, which is unfortunate as I have always really liked KitchenAid appliances, currently I have a dishwasher and oven, stand mixer, hand mixer, blender list goes on, Beautiful appliances, well worth the money. This particular refrigerator is not worth the price tag, expected it to be of the same quality as any other KitchenAid appliance I have ever owned, also it is extremely noisy,

the distain I have for the fridge goes without words. We bought our entire kitchen suite through kitchen aid and outside of the fridge have been very happy. but woof, this fridge is BAD. Where to begin. after having trouble with the fridge getting icicles inside it, the cheese/deli drawer freezing over, and the freezer defrosting itself randomly, we called a service person. it's needs not 1, not 2, but three major parts replaced. it's only 3 months old! to add insult to injury, we had some kids letter magnets on it for our toddler to play with with have gone unused. I removed them last night and discovered tiny rust spots all over the fridge door. this fridge is the biggest disappointment we have had so far in our kitchen remodel

We've had this now for a little over a month and couldn't be happier! We purchased the entire suite for our remodeled kitchen and love how they look and work.

we have NEVER been so disappointed in an appliance. This fridge is very nice to look at but that's about it. The door design is awful and has cost us $600 plus on damaged food. When one door is opened and closed the other door pops open. It does not matter about the force... Soft, hard, it still does it. Attached is a video. After spending 10,000 on the entire kitchen aid line in our kitchen remodel I really hope they can step up to help us solve this problem. Attached is a picture of what the fridge door opens to every time the other door is shut.

This worked fine...UNTIL we my family was woken up by our smoke detector and a kitchen full of smoke. After this terrifying experience (911 call, firetrucks, rushing my wife and 3 kids out of the house), we realized it was caused by a blown up compressor relay assembly. NOTE: this fridge was purchased brand new less than 3 years ago! Got it repaired the following day by a local technician. Called Kitchenaid/Whirlpool to see if they would reimburse our expenses and confirm that the fridge is safe, and they would not do either. All they offered was a "sorry". BUYER BEWARE. Not only is this a potentially unsafe appliance, but the customer service at Kitchenaid/Whirlpool is atrocious. Really regretting the $7k+ we spent on these "premium" appliances.

I love my fridge but the latch that is to stop making ice will nit stay up
Sharlar04/23/2025 05:08 AM
Fridge works great and is very aesthetically pleasing. Having the water dispenser inside the door really helps free up some space. Only nock is the left door can be a little stiff in closing. If you aren't careful, just lightly giving the door a little push isn't enough and your fridge will not close all the way. You manually have to apply pressure until the door closes. Might be a nucense if you have kids or teens that arent mindful of these things. One nice feature is if you happen to forget to close the door all the way, an alarm will sound.
Lyndsey03/17/2017 05:00 AM
Purchased this refrigerator as part of a complete kitchen remodel. Two requirements, no external (in the door) ice or water. Lots of room. This fridge met those requirements. This unit is very light in comparison to others easy to move and the doors open do not require a tug. The four versus five stars is because the arm that stops the ice maker in the freezer sometimes permits too much ice for the container and upon closing the freezer drawer it knocks a few cubes out the back which then shoot out on the floor. Other minor complaint is the unit is loud or at least louder than the last fridge we had. Not annoying but noticeable.

I have had this refridgerator for a little over a year and about 1 month after the year mark the door seal started to separate. I called the service center and was told this would not be repaired under warranty. I do like this fridge and overall works great, just a little dissapointed that for the money it needed repair after only 1 year.

We have owned this Refrigerator with Interior Dispenser for a very short time and it has never worked correctly! We took the extended warranty on the unit as you should with anything using water and we have had the repair company here TEN TIMES! Yes, you read that right, 10 TIMES! During a global pandemic no less! Every time they touch something, something else breaks! The manufacturer of course does not want to hear from you after their way-too-short warranty expires! So you left with a Refrigerator with Interior Dispenser, that doesn't dispense water! TRUST ME, DO NOT buy this refrigerator unless you happen to enjoy visits from the repairman. Good grief!

We have been using the appliance for the past month and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The interior water supply was the perfect solution to all the space that a water and cube feature that is built into the door take up.
Brazz12/14/2018 12:49 AM
Water/ice dispenser inside eliminates the problems we have had with in-the-door dispensers dropping stray ice cubes that sneak out unexpectedly and fall on the floor leaving a puddle/ water stains. It also gives more storage shelf space in the doors to place frequently used items. The single drawer freezer seems more economical to manufacture, and fewer things to break during life of the fridge. My only complaint is that the AC power cord was a few inches too short to reach the outlet at the upper-back side of the cabinet cubby before rolling the fridge into it. Had to modify the outlet location to a lower position.

We have had this refrigerator for less than a year and have had pieces break 3 times already! Now food is getting frozen in the middle and back of the refrigerator and we have always kept it at the recommended temperature of 38° the way it says to do inside the refrigerator. We have never altered the temperature. All of a sudden it started freezing food. We had to throw out so much stuff!! My ice machine is also making alot less ice?!! I'm extremely disappointed and they have yet to change the fridge or even take it back and give us our money back. This appliance is expensive and yet our cheap smaller whirlpool fridge that is old and I keep in my garage works way better!

I love my new fridge, It's style and size and features are why kitchenaid is the best
Denny02/10/2017 06:00 AM
We bought this model from a reputable dealer. It worked for about a day, and then the refrigerator section stopped working. It's actually warmer in the frig (76 degrees) than in my kitchen. A repair person came out, didn't have the right part, so we have to wait weeks. The part, it turns out, was the brain of the refrigerator, a main board. So quality control appears to be a serious issue. Burn in the boards before you install them.

After loads of research hubby and I bought this refrigerator, and loved the fact that it works well, is white for our new kitchen, and is very quiet, all of which is important to us. BUT, be warned about the shelf's! The shelving does NOT go all the way to the back of the refrigerator, which I've never seen before so I didn't notice it at the store. There is about a 2" gap between the end of the shelf and the refrig's back wall. As such, anything small than a soda can falls through and falls/slides down the wall to the shelves below. What a pain in the neck and much wasted space!!! Whoever designed this refrigerator needs his head examined...

The NOISE of this fridge is beyond horrible, and CONSTANT. I can hear it throughout the house--a high pitched ringing noise. I have this same fridge at a cabin and there's zero noise, beyond the fan turning on periodically. Two techs have come out, with calls into Whirlpool (who owns KitchenAid). According to the Whirlpool tech, "there was a bad lot of these and we are aware of the problem. Try replacing the compressor. It may help." MAY...and they know the issue. The techs coming to the house have tried to help, but this is a known issue. They should replace my fridge! Oh, and this is the 2nd model we have had installed in 6 months--the first fridge heated rather than cooled. This is a horrible unit. DO NOT BUY IT!

I bought this refridgerator about 3 months ago and find it to be aweful. The shelf and door space do not hold much. No matter how you adjust the shelves, you cannot place a gallon of milk or amond mild in the fridge wihtout losing half a shelf. The doors close on you while you are trying to place something in the fridge. The freezer "basket" is vey cheeply made and is very shallow that it doe not hold a lot. Furthermore, to get the separators out of the freezer you need to take the whole basket out and use a screw driver to pry it off - and hopefully not break it. All in all i am not happy with this refrigerator and would love to return it and get my old one back. If I could I would rate it -1.
