My 1st KitchenAid frig was delivered in June, the doors didn’t match up. My 2nd frig was delivered in July and I am fighting with Home Depot because every night my freezer drawer has water on the top of the drawer. I dry it out at least st twice a day. They are telling me. I need a new drawer. The drawer is 6 to 8 weeks out. I’d like to know if you would want to keep a brand new frig that needs repair already. I’ve had it 3 weeks!!! Very disappointed with Home Depot and a KitchenAid. I will never buy a KitchenAid appliance ever again…NEVER!!! This is just wrong. KitchenAid does not stand by the poor product it sells.
Awful Product08/07/2024 07:02 AM
When our old fridge started to show signs that it was on its way out, the search began for a fridge that had all the qualities and features that we liked in our previous fridge plus one that fixed all the qualities for which we didn't care. This led us down a rabbit hole of all the new brands, models, and features that are out in the market today. Our search let us back to one to the oldest tried and true brands on the market in the KitchenAid 26.8 Cu. Ft. Standard-Depth French Door Refrigerator with Exterior Ice and Water Dispenser, in Stainless Steel. This refrigerator is fantastic. Our old refrigerator had an ice and water dispenser in the door, but the maker took up almost a quarter of the usable space in the refrigerator. KitchenAid has solved this problem with its In-Door Ice System. The ice maker is in the top of the refrigerator but doesn’t take away from any of the interior space. The ice drops into an ice bin in the door for either being dispense through the door or for one to remove the bin for parties. The ice can be dispensed as cubes or as crushed ice. I also like having the water and ice dispensers separate in the fridge door. When dispensing water, the refrigerator displays how many ounces are being dispensed. You also have the option to choose measured dispensing. This allows you to have the fridge dispense a preset amount and shut off the water flow when it is dispensed. The filter for the water and ice is in the top interior of the refrigerator out of the way of the shelves. The filter is does not get in the way of anything on the shelves nor does it take up any interior space. The layout of the shelves and bins inside the refrigerator is just genius. The large bins on the left door hold multiple gallons of milk with room still for smaller drinks. The bins under the ice bin on the left door are perfect sizes for condiments. These bins allow for maximum space on the shelves for your larger food items or bigger storage containers. It is amazing coming from the same size fridge to this one how much more room is available because of the smart design by KitchenAid. In terms of space, the two crisper drawers and the large cold cut/meat/wine draw are absolutely huge. They are also easy to remove and reinstall should you need to clean them in the sink. The slide out tray shelf is a nice added feature that allows for easier access to items in the back. My wife loves the wood grain accent on this shelf as it creates an elegant look for the fridge. The freezer has a large amount of space with many dividers to separate your frozen goods. This refrigerator doesn’t have a second icemaker in the pull-out freezer which I believe is a benefit. Without it, there is so much more room for frozen goods. Both the refrigerator and the freezer are well lit yet do not blind you when you open the door. The build quality of this KitchenAid fridge is solid. The handles and doors feel strong and of high quality. It also runs super quite compared to our previous fridge. I never hear it running nor the ice dropping into the bin from the maker. There is absolutely nothing that I would change about this refrigerator. It has all the bells and whistles that I need without compromising space and functionality. The KitchenAid 26.8 Cu. Ft. Standard-Depth French Door Refrigerator with Exterior Ice and Water Dispenser is an absolute win. It is a ten in my book.

The KitchenAid 26.8 Cubic Foot French Door Refrigerator is a game changer. I upgraded from a similar model in the Fridigaire Gallery line but the KitchenAid is so packed with features that I had no idea I was missing and I am quite honestly impressed and left in awe each time I use it. The interior design maximizes space to a level I’ve never seen and the fit and finish feels like BMW made this refrigerator - everything is solid and exudes refinement. The stainless finish is truly fingerprint proof and the handles are knurled to yield a very positive grip. The water dispenser counts the ounces you’ve filled your glass with as it pours, which is great for meeting your intake goals. I really love the freezer organization, with a dedicated space for pizzas and two drawers that both have compartments to separate your items. I could go on forever - this refrigerator truly has it all and is perfect in absolutely every regard.

This refrigerator looks gorgeous inside and out with stainless steel exterior and wood/stainless looks on the inside. I loved the texture handle and how spacious inside. The stainless steel exterior is fingerprint proof. The compressor running super quite. It got energy star rating of 710 with an estimate of $85 annual cost. The main controller unit has a bunch of premium features such as max cool, max ice, vacation mode, measured fill. It is worth mentioning about the measures fill feature. This feature allows to dispense the water hands-free according to preset measure you set (in oz or cup). The air filter also comes with filter indicator which constantly monitor the interior air quality condition which gives an indicator when the time to replace the filter. No more guessing game. The interior lights are brights and equipped with LED which is great for energy saving. Another nice feature is a sliding shelfing unit with wood panel looks. There is also shelfing with half way sliding which can accomodate taller items such as wine bottle. The ice bin is large. Few things I don’t like from this appliance: 1. The bottom freezer has no light. There is an access window that allow light to penetrate from the main cabin but only ligjt up the top portion of the freezer. 2. The crisper drawer did not allign perfectly. There is minor missalignment, perhaps due to the drawer holder design. I preferred the conventional ball roller slider design. It is easier to remove and re-attached. Overall, I truly loved this refrigerator. From the premium design/looks to the large capacity and functionality. The best one out there for sure.

I am super happy and super impressed with my new KitchenAid refrigerator! The dimensional measurements are spot on and it fits perfectly in our kitchen! The utilization of space for shelves and drawers is well thought out and maximizes use of ever portion of area. The drawers and slide out shelf work smoothly top and bottom and the ice maker works perfectly. The in door ice and water dispenser work flawlessly and I LOVE the measured water feature!!! The finish seems to resist fingerprints well even from the kids being all over the new refrigerator in the first few days after we installed it!! I have even compared the power usage on our power company's daily usage page and it is much more ebergy efficient than our old, smaller refrigerator!!! Super happy and expect this refrigerator to last MANY years to come, thanks KitchenAide!!!

Worst purchase that zi ever made. I will never purchase anothe Kitchenaid or Whirpool product. This refrigerator is less than a year old. I haven't been able to open my freezer for over four weeks. It's keaking water all over my kitchen floor. My floor and sub floor is all lifting and damaged. They refuse to replace this refrigerator and service techs cant fix it

We absolutely love our new KitchenAid french door refrigerator! The stainless steel looks great in our kitchen since it matches with everything else perfectly! The refrigerator opens up to very nice lighting and has a lot of space for everything we need. There’s a single pull out drawer at the bottom of the refrigerator that is perfect for drinks, right above that there are 2 side by side pull out drawers and right above that there’s a really nice slide out shelf that has a woodgrain design on it that we’ve never had before and we use it way more than we thought we would, we love it! The bottom freezer is very spacious and has a separate top and bottom drawer which has been nice for better organization. The bottom drawer is built into the bottom part of the door and then there is another drawer above it that can be pulled in and out. There is also a cool spot I call a “pizza pocket” that you can store frozen pizzas standing up, just something different a very useful for us. This refrigerator also comes with an exterior water dispenser and ice maker on the left side of the refrigerator door. Again, the light that it has built into it has a nice fancy look to it and can be used as a night light. There are 2 different modes for ice that you just tap on to choose between full pieces or crushed ice and another cool feature if you have smaller kids you can lock the screen/key pad so that kids cannot go up to it and press buttons, leak water out, etc. You can also select how much water will come out each time you put a glass in to fill the water up in ounces if you’d like. For example you can set it to automatically pour 8 ounces each time. We believe that KitchenAid did a great job when they designed this refrigerator and we hope that we get many many years out of it!

The fridge is a family's dream come true! The exterior ice (crushed and cubed) and water dispenser is very stylish (3 different light options). Although the dispenser levers are vertical instead of angled to avoid accidental pouring, they are a bit hard to push and activate. The angle of the ice dispenser is not centered, but placed further back, which causes ice spills, even with wide mouthed glasses and bottles. We do like the measured fill feature, very convenient in the morning when filling the kids' water bottles for school. The design of the fridge and the freezer sections are fantastic! The shelves in the fridge can be adjusted as needed. Especially the door shelves are very spacious. The freezer has multiple sections, an extra drawer and a frozen pizza storage!!!! The fridge runs very quiet. We noticed that the exterior is not smudge free and attracts dust, which is a bit disappointing but not a deal breaker. Overall we are super happy and highly recommend this fridge! Well done Kitchenaid! You won us over!!!

Put together poorly. There’s spray foam showing in multiple places, the door heights are not even with the left side slightly higher than the right. The deli drawer never stays shut, always sliding open when the doors open. It’s supposedly level. When we opened it from the box, the seals were disfigured from the packaging but we were told to give it some time to flatten out. Now I have water standing on top of the freezer gasket. Likely from condensation due to the defective gasket/seal. I called customer service and was on hold for 45 minutes. I couldn’t get connect with a rep so I hung up. Also, don’t trust the water dispenser measured fill feature. I calibrated it 5 times and it still does whatever it wants. So don’t walk away from it if you use it because it may overflow your vessel. The packaging stickers on the drawers left ink on the plastic and cannot be cleaned off. It looks like someone left a dozen Gatorade bottles on the shelves and left the footprint of the bottle not sure if this is in the glass by design or transferred from the stickers.. The only pro is that it looks nice. The quality and features are not impressive for the amount this fridge costs. I expected more from KitchenAid.

Great design but a manufacturing defect means the water leaked and I didn’t notice for about three days when suddenly ( or so it seemed) there was about a half inch of water in entire cheese drawer. And then I realized there was water everywhere. The repairman, which only comes every two weeks to our area, said he had never seen this problem before and would need to order the part. The part is on back order and from my brand new fridge I am unable to get water or ice. One thing if it was 15 years old, quite another when it hasn’t worked from the beginning. I would like it replaced and will call this week about that given the part is still not in. I do like the layout of the fridge and freezer and realize the problem I’m having is prolly not common. The pictures were taken after a lot of mopping up had taken place and do not show the entire amount of water.

After 1 year of use, the seal around the refrigerator door got torn and the freezer is full of snow. The refrigerator is getting noisier and using more electricity than when it was brand new. The Kitchen Aid refrigerators suppose to be the best on the market. Big disappointment!

We love this thing! It looks spectacular in our kitchen. It’s clean and modern, and is a huge upgrade. The fridge has tons of room. The adjustable and the sliding shelves make life so easy. Freezer is double layered and has built in pizza storage. The ice machine is smooth and fast. The water is delicious. I don’t know what kind of filter, but it’s a great one. I love the ounce count when dispensing The fridge itself has an air filter so there’s no need for a box of baking soda! It cools down real fast. A purchase you won’t regret!

I purchased this KitchenAid model in April 2024 after years of using an older KitchenAid side-by-side model. Although I like the overall finish and quality of the inside, I'm overall not impressed with the ice and water dispensing feature and door operations. Filling a standard water bottle with ice and water require the bottle to be tilted at an angle and ice of course occasionally ejects onto the floor. The water dispenser is hard to press, and once pressed the angle of the water bottle being filled blocks the view and you need to guess when to stop pressing or it overflows onto the floor. The right door opens fine, but with no anti-pressure to stop it, it just swings open and all the bottles in the door slam together every time the door is opened. None of these features were "testable" prior to purchase and if it wasn't such a hassle to return it, I would do so and find a more suitable product for modern day usage.
Rich Hanapole04/29/2024 05:34 PM
Perspiration and water build up on seal between fridge and freezer. Doesn’t seem like the seal is properly installed. All my neighbors who live in my new development and who’ve paid for this fridge upgrade have same issue and no one can fix it. Seems like a huge design flaw. Hoping the seal will last for more than a year or two, but not likely. I’ve asked our builder (Pulte) to no longer include in their kitchen upgrade package because it’s not worth the money, hassle and this model seems defective.

We purchased our KitchenAid refrigerator in September and it was delivered on the 14th. It has been run great since day one! We use a lot of ice and I’m happy to report that the refrigerator’s ice maker keeps up with our demands. The refrigerator is quiet and looks great. This is our first KitchenAid appliance and I’m very happy with our selection. If feels very well made. The doors have a solid feel when you close them and they have a great seal to keep the cold inside. At this point we couldn’t be happier!

After living with a double door refrigerator, I made the switch to the French door refrigerator. It is so welcome here since I am now able to reach all of my food easily and store all sizes of containers in it. Fingerprints on the doors are easily wiped off with a damp microfiber cloth. I settled on Kitchenaid not only because of a good reputation but also because I loved their design especially the tough looking handlebars. I have heard many reviews mention that there is a problem with the icemaker. I can only assume this is because it is located in the refrigerator and not in the freezer itself. I only hope there will be an update down the road of a mini ice drawer that could be pulled out from the freezer rather than the refrigerator. There is a constant hum with the fridge and perhaps that is due to the location of the ice-maker where there is a constant struggle for regulation of the temperature. I will probably call someone in just to check it out to make sure it is nothing to worry about. But the hummmmmm is something I can live with and still appreciate our new fridge.

We are absolutely thrilled with our new KitchenAid French Door Refrigerator. It is spacious and has handy features like the slide away shelf which we can use to store items that are taller, jugs etc and the ice is on the door giving more space inside. There are so many shelves on the doors that we are able to free up more space inside the fridge using them. The internal lighting system is LED’s and lights up everything perfectly when the doors are opened. The vegetable drawers are split so you don’t need to open both doors to get what you need. The pull out tray is perfect to store platers when entertaining. The lower pantry draw can store, meat, fish or deli products and the base prevents bottles from rolling around if you choose to store your wine in there. It is definitely much cooler that our previous fridge and our vegetables have stayed fresh longer. My wife is watching her water intake so she loves the counter on the water dispenser and you can set the actual amount of water you want dispensed. The freezer has plenty of space with 2 drawers and adjustable dividers. My favorite feature is the Pizza pocket on the Freezer door, perfect storage with easy access. The stainless steel exterior is easy to clean but doesn’t seem to mark as much as our previous one. This is a well thought out and very functional refrigerator that we would highly recommend!

Condensation at the upper seal over the freezer. Brand new from day 1 the condensation built up. I wipe it away every day and make sure the seal from the door to the body of the freezer is clear but there's always condensation the next day. Poor sealing or insulation or design but why do i need to worry about dripping water from the freezer door after buying a brand new product.

I purchased this Refrigerator 1 1/2 ago pd $4,000 on the outside around the water dispenser is peeling off supposedly it is STAINLESS STEAL. I was the one who told all my friends & family that Kitchenaid was the best product ever..maybe 20 years ago when they stood by their product but now no. Please all customers looking for a NEW REFRIGERATOR STAY AWAY FROM KITCHEN AID PRODUCTS. I am sooo sorry I ever purchased this brand they are no longer worth the price you pay. There are to many products out there that are a better quality and price.

I bought this refrigerator a couple of months ago, I love the size and layout. The people Lowe's had deliver it put the handles on and dropped it in my kitchen, they didn't even plug it in. I had to remove all the packing and set it up myself. I expected more from this company.
Uninstalled refrigerator05/10/2025 04:01 PM
We’ve been using this fridge for almost 2 months and it’s so good that I wanted to take the time to leave a review. First, installers were great. Seriously, they were perfect. It’s big, and that room can be both good and bad: know that it is deep, deeper than maybe fridges. It fits well in our kitchen and I love the space. It’s also pretty. And not too bad to keep clean. I like the subtle red accents on the handles (my wife does not, she hates them). Also, I didn’t notice this, but my wife likes that the doors hide the hinges. The water dispenser is really programmable. Cool feature. However it’s “splashy”, not laminar flow, so it works best held high out with a taller glass. The drawers slide great. The interior is laid out well. There is plenty of room in the doors for condiments. There is some plastic that is made to appear metallic on the shelves-it will scratch-I don’t notice or care (again, my wife’s critique).

Bought this fridge for my cabin December 2021. Went up to the cabin and all the food in my freezer was thawed out and the fridge was warm. Over $1000 in food went into the trash. Called a tech and was told it’s the compressor! You think paying $2664 for a fridge it would last a little longer. Called KitchenAid and was told “Sorry” nothing can be done only one year warranty. Well when I built the cabin I spent $11,517 on KitchenAid appliances. I will never buy a KitchenAid appliance or product ever again…not even a spatula or mixer. They don’t stand behind their products and for the money they charge you would expect better from them especially since they are known for quality! The only thing they stand behind is the one year warranty and they made that very clear. Stay away and do your research.
Quantum09/03/2025 06:30 AM
Excellent quality throughout. The movement of the doors and drawers is strong and not flimsy. Everything is being cooled, chilled and maintained properly. The ice maker works great and does not take up a ton of room. The freezer holds a lot of food is is designed to be be very organized and visible. This fridge is very quiet considering it’s size. The only thing we have not figured out is the proper placement and pressure of the water lever. It takes us multiple tries to fill a large glass. Other than that, we are very happy and hope it lasts many, many years.
Skyzlmt5111/16/2023 09:05 PM
We are three months into our new refrigerator. So far is as expected. The drawers and shelves appear to be much better than previous. Very largecspacity. I wish the cubes were larger. Time will tell.I would suggest that when the warranty is up you should purchase the extended plan . Most brands charge excessive prices for replacement parts and service calls. So far we love it.
