  • It looks and works great but I have only had it for 2 weeks. I had a little grinding to do for my granite countertop to make it fit but I made it look very clean. It was replaced by ORHP my home warranty and it took almost a year because of backups but well worth it!

  • I purchased this appliance on June 2023, in October 2023 it was already broken. One side of the cooktop has lifted from the metal frame making the knobs hard to turn besides I am afraid it might explode at any time. I am very disappointed.

  • We just did a kitchen remodel and have purchased all new Kitchen Aid appliances. All is well besides this cook top. I have used it for a week now and there appears to be what looks to be BUBBLES under the glass. I boiled something else tonight and more bubbles! I’m scared to know what this thing will look like in a year. I have quality pots and pans and have looked up care instructions and I feel like I’ve done my part to keep this cook top looking nice so I am really disappointed.

  • Delivered December 4th and I am very pleased with its quality and performance of my new KitchenAid 30” cooktop. We had family coming in and staying over the Christmas holiday and an abundance of cooking was going to take place. We previously had a Jenn-Air 30” electric cooktop and one of the burners no longer worked. The KitchenAid cooktop works like a charm. The burners heat up quickly, cleanup is a breeze and the knobs work more efficiently to adjust heating element during cooking. Initially, it will take trial and error to achieve the desired heat based on how quickly the elements heat up. But other than this, the product is well worth it.

  • Replaced a 16 year old KitchenAide 30" downdraft cooktop with this newer model. The stainless steel knobs are a nice upgrade from our older cooktop. The new model heats quickly and is easy to clean. The downdraft works great as well. Hoping for another 16 years of trouble free use.

  • I was having problem determining which knob controls which "cooktop eyes". I found the small graphic on the cooktop too hard to read and figure out. So I put a black adhesive symbol on top of each SS knob and placed the same symbol, either below the "eye" or above the "eye", depending on the "eye" location, on the cooktop's corresponding "eye". (Note: I placed the symbol on the SS trim, not on the heated part of the cooktop.) I have included photos to show what I did. This enabled my wife and me to know immediately which control goes with which "eye". I thought your design staff could incorporate this idea in your next model.

  • I purchased my house after a major kitchen remodel by home flipper and my glass cooktop has warped after 8 months of use. Kitchen aid won't honor warranty because the unit was purchased five months before we bought the home. Even though it was NEVER used before we moved in. I am scared to use the cooktop because I don't want hot glass to crack or explode on me. The downdraft is very disappointing and doesn't do a good job with cooking steam or smoke. All in all I am so bummed that an appliance which cost over $2,500 didn't even last more than nine months. DO NOT BUY THIS!

  • We had a Jenn-Air stovetop that we replaced with the newer version KitchenAid product. Right out of the box it was broken and of poor quality - fan dial was assembled incorrectly and dint shut off, the corner glass top was separated from the heat box and does not lie flush with the countertop, and all the knobs are cheap plastic and wobble. Sadly it costs us $1700 + $200 install. We have a warranty claim pending to fix this, but it’s just a poor quality product.

  • We purchased this cooktop after much research. Our only reservation were the reviews that complained that the cooktop bubbled -- that the glass scratched. I thought -- well -- I will be following all the directions and taking good care of it. We purchased late June -- it was installed late August and we did not use it until this week. Similar to the 1 -star review, within the first week, it looks scratched and bubbled. I tried to contact customer service and waited on hold for 45 minutes. Then I called the Whirlpool number listed here and again waited 45 minutes. At this point I would like to exchange it as it is clearly damaged. Please advise

  • I only bought to get the downdraft, overall quality is in line with the $400 whirlpool I took out. For $1600, quality should be exceptional, it's really just a KitchenAid branded generic Whirlpool type unit with the addition of a downdraft fan. This unit seems like a very minimally engineered model. One set of instructions online shows hold down brackets, the one that came with it has the section with the picture removed and actual mention of the hold down brackets removed. The unit, did not come with any hold down brackets so it just sits on top of the counter with no support. It's like it just got deleted and forgotten. (Or even worse, the fix to some issue was to not clamp it tight and their solution was to just forget about them) The filter just sits in the fan bin, not any bracket, it's not even made to fit being too short, you're supposed to just set it in there at an angle. When the fan starts, it just sucks it up tight and it falls back the wrong direction. The grease tray that the filter flops around in is not removable, the only way to clean it is to just stick your hand in and get cut by the sharp metal openings wiping it out. If I didn't need the fan, I would have never been ok spending this kind of money for an unexceptionable model with an old school premium brand slapped on it. Pretty sad way to blow so much money.

  • Clean sleek look on the counter. Heats up quickly and has plenty of extra capacity. Really like the single/double burner. The exhaust fan is quiet and draws efficiently. Easy to wipe clean since the controls are all on one side and are level with the burner tops. Low profile fan housing cover also makes it easy to clean. My only negative comment would be that the fan filter does not cover the fan opening completely. There is about a 2 inch open gap.

  • After waiting 4 months due supply shortages at Whirlpool we finally canceled the order and found one from Home Depot which was delivered within a week. Had it installed on our new quartz countertop and my wife loves it. We are now getting used to the new features and glad we got one on time for the new countertop. Would have been 5 stars if not for the long wait from the manufacturer.

  • I bought this a month ago and had it installed by a professional it took me a few weeks to learn the new layout of the stove top. it has a beautiful black finish on top and I make sure I clean up all spills immediately with a ceramic stove top cleaner . I would avoid old scratchy pans on the bottom or anything cast-iron that is very rough. Read the manual. . I love the simple black design with the big shiny knobs makes a very modern look even in an old kitchen, like mine . The burners heat very quickly, and you will need to learn low from high as it was different than my old one . I also have the downdraft which has three speeds . I have really enjoyed cooking and I think you will too

    kas2812/11/2024 07:42 PM

  • We bought this for our new house build, it has a what looks to be a surface crack on the left front burner. There is also marks on that burner, and the right front burner that won’t come out. I am disappointed with it.

    Deb 2701/08/2024 07:47 PM

  • Installation smooth. Very intuitive to use and heats up rapidly. Nice stainless features that match the rest of the appliances in the kitchen. What needs to be improved is to add stainless material on the short ends of the cooktop....there is no stainless material on the short ends and gives the cooktop an unfinished look when installed on a kitchen island (see photos). If it were installed near a wall, might look ok but on an island, no so much...

  • I bought this cooktop about 2 years ago, last year I had to call in to get a element switch part because it wont let me adjust the level of heat, and I believed this should covered by warranty. Then I call in, they said they would sent service guy with the part. The service guy never showed up and can't even get a hold with thru the phone. I ended up waiting 30 mins on the phone just to talk to someone and finally they sent the part for free. Now I'm experiencing the same issued again this year, and I called in they said I need to buy the part. SO This is the quality of the Kitchenaid product??? and the customer representative don't even know what they are talking about. I don't not recommend anybody get this product unless you want to change element switch every year. It would require tons of work plus its is not cover by their warranty.

  • Knobs bases took off and cooktop ceramic glass is burned by inside, no voice or writing diagnosis at all, just the service company is going to change the knobs. I bought this product based on the quality that they say have, changing my old Jenn-Air for the Kitchen Aid, but I see it was a mistake. Looks like a poor quality cooktop I wish I could change it for other brand

  • We were blessed to get a very nice price for our Wonderful cooktop! Kitchenaid makes the best appliances! We are so happy with our cooktop's performance we're replacing our 30-inch wall oven and refrigerator with Kitchenaid appliances! Kitchenaid's customer service representatives provided outstanding customer service; from the beginning when we placed the order to the day of delivery. They sent friendly reminders to keep us informed of the delivery date and time. We really appreciated the reminder to get our extended warranty. We're looking forward to purchasing additional Kitchenaid appliances in the future. Thank you for making a fabulous cooktop.

  • A very nice cooktop that is appealing, easy to clean and works great. I am satisfied with most aspects of this unit except for one thing: the burners are identified with VERY faint circle lines; it’s difficult to center the pan right on the burner until it actually lights up. And, because the glass top is so smooth, the pans slip around a lot, so when the burner isn’t lit up, it’s frustrating trying to recenter the pan on the burner. Also, after the unit was first installed, one of the burners stopped working. Upon service, the tech found the electrical connector had popped off the post. Plugged it back in and all was fine. So, tech checked the others and found one other burner connector was not plugged in properly, and it too would likely have soon popped off. So, with these minor issues I couldn’t give it 5 stars. I would likely not buy this again, however, simply because the faint burner guideline makes cooking frustrating.

  • I bought this cooktop initially in the “stainless” model. On the day after installation, one end of the stainless strip on the top side of the cooktop came unstuck and lifted up almost an inch. Apparently the strip was slightly bent on that end. Needless to say, I was very upset. As I was unable to get anyone from the store on the telephone, I drove back to the store and explained to the salesman what had occurred. I then ordered the same cooktop in “black” which is identical to the stainless except for the two stainless strips on the top and bottom. The replacement was installed two days ago and is perfect. I just want others to know to purchase the black instead of the stainless model. It looks great in my kitchen with my stainless wall oven, refrigerator and dishwasher and..... no bent metal!

    G. Dor09/24/2020 10:29 PM

  • My rating is partially based on the fact that we were replacing an almost 30-year old coil cooktop, so anything is bound to be an improvement. That said, it could use some improvement. The glossy black finish shows every spot, fingerprint and scratch. I am just hoping that this unit will still look halfway decent when we decide to sell our house, probably within a couple of years. A matte charcoal, maybe speckled look would be my suggestion. The problem is that there are very few choices available for an electric downdraft unit and most are the glossy black. As for performance, I have found that the burners are slow to bring a pot to boiling.

    gusgus12/30/2018 02:13 AM

  • At first glance, it's gorgeous. Smooth black glass, extra workspace when not hot. Then, there are the issues: - Knobs are too large and difficult to clean around without removing. They take up too much space and I wish we had gone with another e-knob model. - Difficult to keep the surface scratch-free - Burners are too close to the edge. - Surface is difficult to keep clean. Must use non-alcohol-based cleaner and the special cleaner Kitchenaide recommends. - Burners heat up fast but take a long time to cool down. This is definitely a high-end piece for replacement or remodel, and it was very pricey. Looks great, works well, but requires full cleaning after using.

    beachik11/22/2023 03:22 AM

  • I bought this unit in September and separately a KitchenAid oven/microwave combo for a kitchen remodel. Due to logistical issues, we weren't able to unbox & install the cooktop till this week. The glass was already cracked when it was unboxed and 2/4 blower motor bolts sheared off during installation. KitchenAid is insisting on making me pay for the glass since it is out of the 30 day "cosmetic" issue warranty. I asked for a replacement unit to be sent and they would not do it. Oven/microwave is great, but cooktop is not. I always thought KitchenAid was a notch above. Beware.

    TomIN01/24/2023 10:56 PM

  • After 40 years I finally replaced my old burnt electric coil top with this new glass cooktop which made the kitchen look new again along with the new oven & refrigerator. I am a frugal person so it’s difficult for me to replace anything until it’s not functional & was sticker shocked finding appliances have gone up from several hundred to a couple of thousand dollars. What a difference this makes with cooking & clean up. The only thing I worry about is the longevity since the warranty is only for a year and I seriously doubt it will last as long as my original coil cooktop which was hideous and a food collector but lasted for so long. I’ve had the new one for a month and a half and I am Still learning the settings and locations (I wish there was more information on how to best use the Even heat).
