The range is great. Getting the proper grill grates took 6 weeks and I still haven't gotten my aluminum griddle. Basically they sent the wrong grill grates for a different stove and no griddle. To this day I still don't have the griddle and it is coming up on 2 months later.

Purchased from Furniture and Appliance Mart in Madison WI, Have used for just over a year. The interior of the stove is flaking off and landing in food when baking. Sharp little shards of blue enamel. This is not from interior damage, but from the manufacture quality issues. Extended service plan from seller will not cover either. Total lack of ....

The reviews for this dual fuel range are nearly all five stars for a reason. We did a gut kitchen remodel this year, and I did mountains of research on commercial ranges in the $10k+ neighborhood. This one does everything they do for a fraction of the cost, while taking up less space and requiring less maintenance. It looks nice and the finishes are of similar quality. The range knobs are manual, and the oven is digital. It's a super easy interface, timer setting, etc. It doesn't have wifi or bluetooth, which is one less thing to worry about. My husband cooks and bakes a lot, as do I. He has a fine dining background, and I have a background consuming fine dining. We're both foodies. We had to run a new gas line, but we replaced an electric flat top double oven range with this dual fuel model: life changing. The Range: Gas has made a huge difference with our carbon steel pans and wok and old school cast iron. It's a true joy. This model comes with a griddle for the middle burner, but my husband added a big reversible cast iron grill top for making burgers, eggs, steaks, and just about anything else. Combined with the KitchenAid 30 inch vent hood, it works like a dream and all the grease goes up and outside. We also purchased a liner for the range top which makes cleanup even easier. Ovens: I love the flexibility of having two ovens without taking up an entire wall. I combined this range with the KA built-in convection microwave (basically a third oven) and a KA under-counter warming drawer. It's the best of all worlds and a very efficient use of space. I could probably cook a buffet for 100 people if gatherings this size ever resume. The convection feature on the bottom oven works well and saves time. I am looking forward to using the steam feature to bake sourdough breads and the self cleaning feature as needed. One issue we encountered while remodeling is the specs say 30", and our countertop guys had to come back and sand the countertops down so the stove would slide in and out easier. It's no fault of the stove's, but make sure they double and triple check measurements, as it takes up every millimeter of that 30".

We just completed a total kitchen remodel and this 5 burner gas double oven is simply the best! It is the showpiece in the kitchen with its professional grade handles, velvety smooth burner dials, gorgeous double ovens with convection, I just cant wait for the holidays! Exceptional quality, perfect design and this baby makes you want to stay in the kitchen and cook all day long! Do yourself a favor, treat yourself to this wonderful piece of art, not just an appliance.

I replaced an electric smooth top range with this dual fuel double oven range. Overall, I am loving it so far! The range looks good in my kitchen and I have found it very easy to use. I've used the stove top and both ovens at different times; I haven't used both ovens at the same time yet but, I know that feature is going to be useful! The only cons I have noticed at this point is the oven light operates both ovens at the same time, and the steamer rack was discolored/rusted right out of the packaging.

Today I turned the knob on the stove to turn a burner off and in doing so, my finger nail bed was sliced and metal shards were imbedded into my index finger. The incredibly poor design of chrome tape applied the burner knob housing unit is peeling and a dangerous hazard to any user. This is affecting all knobs on this model. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this stove and expected to have a safe, well made product.

Ever since the second week of owning this oven we weren't entirely happy. The knobs on the front get QUITE hot. In trying to figure this out I discovered on our version of this model the door seal doesn't go all the way around. I think this allows heat to escape and rise up through the door and roast the knobs. The shiny sticker on the knobs is actually wrinkled because of the heat. When we went back to look at the same model in the appliance shop it had a seal that goes all the way around. So I think they might have fixed that, just make sure you get the one with the seal that goes all the way around. Now the enamel is chipping on the liner. There are spots that are gone entirely that they recommended we get a repair shop to touch up with some sort of pen, but that doesn't even start to fix the cracks going all over the liner that is starting to flake off. Plus the pen isn't even available to get?! The chance of this getting into our children's food is too high to continue to use it. We use the top oven by far the most so was debating whether it was due to thermal cycles of going off and on, but the bottom oven, that is used far less, is also cracked. So we can't use our oven with any food that is uncovered. After talking to Kitchenaid, having an approved repair company come out and look, saying there isn't a good repair, the result? 15% off a new appliance purchase through kitchenaid.com. Anyone want a coupon? Because I certainly am not going to use it.

The video on this site implies that this oven comes with a steam rack. It does not. I’ve been trying to order this part since March and they keep sending me the wrong part. Now they want me to pay shipping to return what they sent me by mistake. Also griddle is not durable. The non stick surface scratches easily even if using wooden spatula. I’ve paid to order a new one so that I don’t poison my family with these non stick particles. Their customer service reps are rude. I’ve spent hours on hold and getting no help from them. Just more mistakes.
Don’t buy this brand07/20/2022 07:37 AM
I purchased my Kitchenaid appliance just over a year ago and would not recommend anyone spend this type of money on their product. We have had problems with these units, from heating to the proper temperatures and igniting correctly. Most recently, they replaced the top oven because of a temperature issue, and now the top oven does not work at all. They will stand behind the new parts but want us to pay for all the labor. I spent a lot of money on a nice looking, high-quality Kitchenaid and you want me to cover more for you to fix it again? Don't even get me started on the refrigerator. Buy the lower-level brands and save your money!!

We purchased this dual range oven with our brand new home and we couldn’t be happier. With a family of five, I am constantly cooking or baking new dishes. This oven makes my job so much easier! It is easy to use and has many awesome features. The double oven (electric) is my favorite! Not only is it functional, but it is absolutely beautiful!!

Purchased this last week. Wonderful cooktop, and electric ovens work wonderful. Easy simple controls. Problem with my range is noise which sounds like a floressent light fixture in a ceiling. Quite loud. Came on first time I turned on oven. And has stayed on since unless I cut electric power to unit. Very not good. Only other thing I wonder about is I question if convection fan should run when just using normal bake in big oven. Mine does run in normal bake cycle. Not a complaint, just wondering. Help me get rid of annoying buzz and I would be extatic. Thanks. Does anyone else have this ongoing buzz from range?

I bought this oven 7 months ago. One month ago I noticed that the enamel was cracking and flaking off in the upper oven. The upper oven is used minimally - I prefer to use the convection oven in the bottom (wish they were both convection). I called to ask about warranty coverage and was told that enamel is "cosmetic" and not covered. If I want to talk with a service technician to confirm this, I will have to pay for the call. I am unbelievably disappointed in the poor quality of this appliance, and the lack of service provided by KitchenAid (charging me for a phone call?!). This is supposedly a high end appliance - one of three KitchenAid appliances that I purchased together - a purchase that I very much regret at this point. The enamel protects the rest of the oven - without enamel, the rest of the oven is exposed to moisture/food/etc. Enamel is not cosmetic - it serves a function. Of course, by the time the function of the oven itself is compromised because of the cracked enamel and related damage, my warranty will be expired. My last oven was a Jenn-Air and I never had a problem with it for 10 years - I wish I had brought my 10 year old Jenn-Air to our new house - I'm sure it would have worked longer than my brand new KitchenAid.

I bought this range because I wanted a gas cooktop and two ovens. There's not a lot of options out there, and this one is working out pretty well. I wish the grates on the top of the stove were a little closer together - it's difficult to balance small pots without them wobbling. And the marking of the controls makes it difficult to realize that a burner is still on - I have left one on the lowest setting overnight. And I wish the central burner for the griddle had a higher flame, but once the griddle (which comes with the stove) heats up for a while, the food does brown. It was a bonus to see the pretty blue enamel interior of each oven.

Gas leaked from the 2 front burners right from the start. 2 months after installing the stove I am still not able to use it as we are waiting on parts. I did try out the top oven and it heats super uneven. Stove is leveled perfectly. 15 minute bake left half a pan well done on one side and raw on the other. Also be very aware that on the back side of the stove there is no recess for your gas line to fit into. this results in the stove sticking out from the wall with a huge gap. Very poor design. I don't remember the last time I was so unhappy with a purchase. Unfortunately, I read all the reviews and just chalked up the bad ones as an exception rather than the rule. Boy was that a mistake.
PinkiLund06/30/2023 09:52 PM
I wrote a review about a month ago, it's not published here. Apparently they don't want people to know about all the defects? The enamel paint is chipping off the floor of my top oven. They won't do anything about it, claim it's a "cosmetic". This is INSIDE the oven. It may not affect the function TODAY, but it will someday when the oven floor rusts or something because there's no enamel covering the metal! I used to respect Kitchenaid, but their lack of handling of this issue for me leaves me very disappointed and untrusting to buy anything else from them ever again.

We bought this two months ago and have been very unhappy with it. It can’t boil water. It will take at least 20 min for a pan of water to boil and 30 min if there are frozen vegetables in it. Have called both Kitchen Aid and the store we bought it from and were told it’s the normal function of the stove. I think we lose more heat than it cooks with. We’ve tried turning the heat down so the flames don’t wrap around pans, we’ve tried wide bottom pans, we’ve experimented with the amount of water. The stove is just a rotten waste of investment. Highly recommend you DO NOT PURCHASE this double oven.

I’ve only had the range hooked up for two days. So far it is working great. Have not tried the larger oven but plan on using it soon. I did not receive the steam pan and would like to know what to do about getting it? I also have not received the griddle. I registered the range just over four weeks ago. I noticed right off that the Kitchen Aid logo is upside down but find it amusing. Others may not agree. I’ll add a picture if I can. Kitchen aid has been my favorite kitchen brand for many years! Four stars is because of the logo, steam pan and griddle.

I love the appearance of this range. It exudes a feeling of high quality. It took a little time to figure out the controls. Reading the manual is a must if you plan to use the 'easy convect' options. I have yet to successfully convection-cook anything. Both my attempts failed. Roasted potatoes didn't crisp and muffins failed to cook in the middle. (I stick to the manual convection cooking now, instead of letting it automatically lower the temperature and time.) A few things to note: 1. This range does NOT function without power. There is a safety solenoid that cuts the gas supply with power disabled. 2. You can't quickly switch baking modes (Bake > Roast > Warm). You must select 'Off' first and start from scratch every time. 3. You can change temperatures on the fly by simply keying the new temperature in at any time. 4. You can't broil or roast or bake with the door open. (On my old oven, broil was always 500°F, and the element would be on even when the door was open. This was my preferred method for broiling.) This oven allows you to set a broil/roast temperature and then the door MUST be closed for the element to cycle on. 6. The oven feels like it is slow to preheat. I think it takes nearly 20 minutes to preheat the smaller oven. I did notice that the left grate was warped. The center site about 1/8" higher than the front and back edges, so pan's don't sit level. KitchenAid sent a free replacement grate, but the replacement exhibits the same flaw. I'm hoping they can track down a good grate for me. If they can, I'll make this a 5-star review again.
Schnautz12/20/2017 07:44 AM
I love the smaller top oven for baking instead of the larger one that I use when I cook the five loaves of bread, or need two different temps for a meal. The only problem I have is it is hard to bring the rack all the way out. The oven mitt gets stuck between the rack and the door. I bought a push/pull stick to help with that. The other thing that I did not think about, was that the two top grates are heavy and awkward to move when you have to clean the stove top. I can be a little messy cooking :( I love how well the ovens are insulated. The kitchen does not get nearly as hot when I am using them.
grmasherri06/21/2017 05:00 AM
Stay away from this oven and kitchen aid! I have had problems with this unit since day one. The top oven bakes inconsistent and I called about it after the second day of having it. Since then, I’ve had 5 service calls and two replaced parts and still the top oven bakes inconsistently. The last service call determined that the oven cycle was very wide. The oven was set for 350 and it would heat to 383 and then drop to 309 or 310 before cycling back on and going back on to 380s. This makes baking cookies and pastries very difficult when one isn’t sure where the oven is at in the cycle. After numerous calls to kitchen aid, I’ve been told this is “normal” and within their range and when I’ve asked about the data from their test kitchen to support this claim they refuse to provide it. So, stay away from it!!!!
Anonymous11/08/2020 11:30 PM
I loved the idea of 2 ovens, particularly the smaller oven to warm up quicker. However, the reality is that this is not the best design. When the upper oven is on, the knobs and surrounding metal gets really hot. Also the bottom oven door opens to the floor. It’s also difficult to get pizzas or large items out- don’t trust the bottom rack to slide out and help. The bottom rack has no “stop” or lip so if you slide it out, your dish slides out to the back and falls in the oven floor. Poor design, regretful purchase.
Dan Sm12/29/2018 06:34 AM
Enamel in upper oven cracked after initial “seasoning”. The replacement was approved by an automated voice but I was left on hold after being instructed to press 1 to speak to representative. Had to give up on call and will certainly never buy another kitchenaid. Customer service is poor and if they are too busy to get to a call they initiated, there must be a lot of defective appliances out there!
AmyM108/20/2019 01:41 AM
I enjoy everything about this range EXCEPT the fact that if the power blinks while you have a top burner in use the gas valves closes, flame goes out, and then since the power comes right back on the gas valve opens back up and allows gas to fill your house since there is no longer a flame! This is extremely dangerous! Poor design!!!! Kitchenaid should have a fix for this before it causes someone to loose their home and/or life!

I posted a complaint here a month ago about parts of the blue over liner on our six month old range that were flaking off. I contacted KA, and they sent a repairman out to the house, who said that the complaint was valid and the over could not be repaired. After several long phone calls, KA informed us that they will be replacing our appliance and it is scheduled to arrive toorrow. We had the extended warrantee which may have been a decisive factor. But aside from some inconvenience, it appears to us that KA stands behind their products so we're satisfied.
