  • Had replaced 3x--every time there has been a defect....still waiting for 4th replacement. It's going on a year now. Save yourself the $$, time, & aggravation!

  • Was super excited to add this to our KitchenAid package. The vent piece that came with it was a little short, but had some stainless fabricated locally and was able to utilize the piece it came with as a wrap-around to cover the seam and keep the "branding" on the vent. The lighting is much better than I've had on past vents and the vent settings work wonderfully! The style of it goes perfectly in our modern-style kitchen!

  • Awaiting to use. Love this suite. Can’t wait to move in.

  • I did a full Kitchenaid renovation including the 36” wall mount range hood. I installed the hood myself to save some cost. Positives: The hood is aesthetically attractive The hood has a strong exhaust function Easy to clean filters. (Baffles on other hoods are a pain to clean.) The installation was not difficult. It helped to have a second person go assist in setting the unit in place. The instructions were clear except as noted below The edges of the sheet metal pieces have been rounded so as not to present sharp cutting edges. Negatives: The Kitchenaid Sales person didn’t infirm me that the exhaust requires an expensive extension to extend over 9 feet. I have a 10 foot ceiling. What high end kitchen has only a 9 feet ceiling?! The extension is $350. Support and parts was useless. Several times I was on hold for 40+ minutes only for them to disconnect the call when they closed. This is infuriating. They could not answer fundamental questions: what psrt do I need to extend the exhaust shroud and does the foam piece that sits behind the fan housing need to be removed? The unit is not backlit so you need to guess where the various invisible buttons are. The matching 36” range has no timer. (You would expect that one would be provided on the range hood. Yes I understand that there is a timer on the wifi-connected app which we don’t like to use. The most filthy object is a mobile phone. Why do I want to handle it while I handle food. Note to designers: I don’t need a connected range. I wod never remotely operate an oven when I am not nearby. In my opinion, connected appliances are unnecessary technology looking for a reason to crank up selling prices.) I can’t recommend this hood but I can’t warn people away from it. It has so much more promise if Kitchenaid would address the issues -especially customer service!

  • This venthood has been a disaster to own. The motor has failed 3 times. Each repair by a Kitchenaid repair shop last only through a few uses. Kitchenaid has offered a prorated credit to be applied to another venthood which is unacceptable given the unit has needed 3 repairs in 18 months.

  • My wife and I remodelled our kitchen in April 2017 and wanted the best appliances possible. I did my homework and read a number of reviews and decided that a KitchenAid range hood was the way to go. We currently have a 30 inch stove and was advised by the sales clerk to purchase a 36 inch range hood that will look aesthetically pleasing and ensure that no fumes escape. We did not regret that decision. Also, the supplier recommended a professional installer, who does all their installations. The range hood was installed but the installer realised that the chimney was too short for our 10 Foot ceiling. He promised to come back to us with a solution, but never did. So we used it without the chimney extension but to our disappointment the noise level was extremely high, even on low speed. We did not know better and thought this was normal, even though the reviews described it as Whisper Quiet. My wife refused to use it, because it was so noisy and did not remove any fumes. I called an electrician to check the polarity just in case the motor was hooked up in the reverse. This was not the case, so we continued to bear and cope with the noise, until yesterday 13th August 2017. AHHH ! We asked a friend to help install the chimney extension and to his horror, he discovered the air duct damper was installed upside down totally blocking the exhaust air flow, the ducting joints were also not sealed thus allowing fumes to escape. We were shocked to know that a professional did this. It took us all day to rectify all these issues and to install the chimney extension. The final note is that we are pleased with our purchase. Even on boost, the noise level is minimal and on low it is absolutely Whisper Quiet. The vents are sealed and we are very happy. I advise that if something sounds or feel wrong, get a second professional opinion. See our modified range hood below. We used the same chimney extension that was supplied with the Range Hood making allowances for

  • This is a very nice hood that is well constructed and very easy to use. I would have rated this much higher except that it came with the Kitchenaid logo on crooked. When I called whirlpool to report the problem, they wanted to charge me for a service call to fix the cosmetic issue since it was purchased more that 30 days ago. The hood was purchased as part of a kitchen remodel that included all new Kitchenaid appliances so the hood was sealed in a box for 60 days after delivery until kitchen cabinets and countertops were installed. I love supporting American made products and I am happy that Whirlpool finally agreed to have a technician fix the logo without charging me. I should not have had to fight them so hard to get them to fix their quality issue, but I am now happy with the purchase.

  • Installed as part of a remodel to all KitchenAid. Every so often, when the light was turned on, the fan came on also. Annoying, but not a constant problem until today. It's been in for 2 years so of course the warranty has expired. Today I walked into the kitchen to hear a buzzing sound. Any attempt to turn on any controls resulted in the buzzing getting louder and non of the controls worked properly. So after disconnecting power, I troubleshoot. I find a relay is shorting on the circuit panel. I look online for a replacement and oh it is $300. Thanks for making such a nice wall ornament! It will get fixed or replaced, and I will think thrice before I buy another . For the price it should not be so cheaply made.

  • This vent hood failed (control panel burned out). It does an awful job at filtering out grease and grease makes its way into the internal parts - which is just a terrible design. A major appliance failing after a few years is an absolute joke. The part replacement is $500+ not including labor. Extremely disappointed in KitchenAid, completely unacceptable lack of quality for this product.

  • This is an amazing feature to our newly remodeled kitchen. We love the black stainless steel finish. The light has two options and we use both settings. I recommend KitchenAid appliances!

  • I purchased this wall mounted range hood from Lowe's South Jacksonville, FL store at 4040 Oldfield Crossing DR as part of a kitchen remodeling project also by Lowe's. Lowe's contractors installed the exhaust hood, but when reviewing the operating instruction I went to show my wife how to remove and clean the metal grease filters only to discover 2 of the 3 filters were missing. I'm disappointed in Lowe's, had I not showed my wife where the grease filters were located she would have used the exhaust hood, the trapped grease would have been absorbed by the insulation creating a fire hazard. I understand you are not responsible for Lowe's failure to inform me of the missing grease filters; however, I would like the 2 filters replaced, so my wife can begin using the cooktop. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. I've attached a photo depicting the missing filters. I'm placing this in the reviews in the hope someone will respond, Lowe's has been slow to respond. I'm clicking the ratings because it's apparently required to submit this post, while I expect it to perform up to Kitchen Aid standards we cannot use the product at this time without creating a fire hazard. I'm only clicking low rating in the hope it will get a response, I'm getting the run around from Lowe's.

  • FYI... BUYERS Beware, ordered this hood to match the other 5 kitchenaid appliances we installed into our remodeled kitchen. The others went smooth for the most part outside of having to wait for our 3rd dishwasher due to receiving damaged good.... The hood came missing two screws and she I call kitchenaid they were of no help.... needless to say I’m regretting my decision at this point to even go with kitchen aid. Sad sad customer service all because I bought my appliances through Home Depot.

  • The lights are great - can see what I’m cooking. Love the sleek, modern look.

    Swharv11/19/2019 06:36 AM

  • This hood is poorly designed and for the price you should find a different hood. The shroud is too big to fit down correctly onto the hood , the shroud gets scratched while you are installing. The hood itself has the mounting holes 10 inches apart completely eliminating the chance of hitting two studs. It’s much too heavy to trust to drywall anchors. The knockout for the electric wasn’t actually cut and I had to cut it out instead of just knocking it out. Overall this is a giant piece of garbage , I have fought it from the beginning of the install. Do not buy.

    Indiana handyman02/13/2022 09:45 PM

  • My builder has installed this along with the rest of my Black Stainless Kitchen-Aid Kitchen. The problem here is the Lower unit with the lights and fan does not match the upper hood section. The bottom is SEMI-GLOSS BLACK and the hood is STAINLESS BLACK. After THREE orders to rectify, all are the same. A Kitchen Aid Rep tells us there is an Internal problem that will not be solved until August 2018!!!! What a bunch of junk. If you advertise BLACK STAINLESS then have a matching set! So now I have a lower section installed with no upper section...looks like junk in my high end kitchen.

  • I purchased this unit for my new home. One day the breaker tripped and the unit turned off. After flipping the breaker back on the unit went haywire. All on it's own randomly switching fan speeds flashing the lights on and off, power down, turning back on. Now it's stuck on low and non-responsive. For such and expensive hood vent this should NOT happen. Now I have to figure out who will replace this and install it, which was the worst part because the black stainless chimney loves to scratch if you look at it wrong!

    chughes01/02/2019 10:23 PM

  • I have now been transferred 3 times in the 1.5hrs that I was on hold with Customer Service so here we go. The hood is amazing to look at but, I'm missing a part to be able to install the appliance on the wall. I am in need of a Vent cover bracket so I can cover up the vent pipe going to the ceiling. Upon opening the box and going through the installation instructions, it seems as though it was never placed in the box to begin with. Beautiful to look at but in need of a part and can't get help with getting one

    Matt8503/27/2023 10:46 PM

  • This hood is an attractive addition to my fabulous induction range. The electrician put it too high the first time and once it was lowered to a better level I was informed that I needed to purchase a section of 6" aluminum vent and a clamp to complete the installation. The electrician explained that it's standard practice to have this VERY IMPORTANT PART of the installation NOT included in the actual purchase of the hood! Okay. Got that! Now how on earth do I remove the sticky residue from the labels...?

    Cin11102/26/2022 07:34 PM

  • We bought this hood to go over our new 36" Dual Fuel KitchenAid stove and it looks and works great. We use low speed 90% of the time BUT we select auto as well and it has increased the speed from low to med a few times when we get more burners going (6 burner stove). The 2 front LED lights give really good light and the rear light (night light) is a nice feature. My only question would be why KitchenAid didn't use an LED for the rear light as well. Less power, less heat, same illumination etc.

    Stainless11/25/2016 06:00 AM

  • We just had it installed in our new home, the fan makes loud noise, but doesn't take out cooking smell, whole house smells like cooking. HVAC folks checked the vent for any obstructions or baffles, nothing found. installer says there is no baffles within the vent, vent goes straight up to the roof vent, still trying to find a solutions from KitchenAid folks

    Kishan12/13/2016 06:00 AM

  • This was installed by my builder (not the one they told me I was getting) and I don’t like it at all. First of all, there are no lights on the panel so you can’t see what button you are pressing! RIDICULOUS…..what were they thinking.

    jminimi10/06/2025 04:33 PM

  • I love the auto fan feature and the bright, bright halogen light. My kitchen doesn't stay as warm when I am cooking, because I vent all the hot air out. The lights make cooking easier to see.

    Twehr12/20/2022 10:57 PM

  • After a few years of ownership, I have noticed the following intermittent issues: 1) when trying to turn off the Light, the light does not turn off but the "Boost (10 min)" fan turns on. 2) the fan turned itself on. Auto Sense was not enabled. The cooktop was not in use.

    DJH5909/11/2023 01:06 AM

  • Looks horrible parts don’t match! 2k for an item that isn’t made in same color?
