• Have had this unit for some years now. It works great and looks great, nice contemporary look. I am fairly handy so have been able to remove the drum fan to clean, lube and stop a squeak (something most people could not do) which may have been due to fan sliding and rubbing the housing. It's a bit of a squeeze to get the unit down to do the cleaning but not too bad. One complaint I have is the light bulbs. They are difficult to remove and even more so to get lined up to replace with a new bulb with this bayonet base type and the finish housing. You almost cant fit both, and very hard to line up the bayonet without removing the housing which then is difficult to push back in. Like too many appliances these days, I wonder of the designers ever had to try to use the products they come up with. Other than that it's a great fan.

• We have had this range hood for a year and couldn't be happier. We upgraded our appliances after 21 years of use. Our KitchenAid dishwasher sprung a leak after 21 years so we replaced it with another KitchenAid, then decided to replace our Whrilpool range of the same age. Both new ones were SS so we had to change the Almond range hood to SS so it would match, This range hood is easy to clean with the Whirlpool SS cleaner. The lighting is excellent and the fan works very well. We mostly use the low setting because the others aren't needed. The one thing i would recommend is to get the charcoal filters for the inside fans to reduce food odors. I still haven't bought mine but i do recommend it. Great product.

• I have had this hood for a few years now and couldn't be happier. Not only does it look great but it performs well. I see many complaints about the noise, I could not disagree more. Not only does this fan vent extremely well on the lowest setting (where it spends 90% of its time) it is almost silent! When you need the extra venting it's going to be noisier but it works and it works well. Compared to many other vent hoods I've seen that can do none of these things and are still louder trying to suck up 50 CFM. I will agree that our buttons are falling off too. As for the lights, all halogen lights will get extremely hot, replace with LED if this is a problem.

• I've had the hood for about a month now & I love it! It not only looks great, but it works great too. I love the bright light it gives off & the vents are good & powerful. I highly recommend it!

• This item came with our new house and we've been using it for almost month. Fan operates smooth and noise is low. The light is bright enough to see everything well. Screens can be removed and reinstalled easily. We like it, we would buy it again!

• This hood is lovely over my new stainless steel range. The only problem I had was the guy that installed it in my older home had to tape up the existing round vent and told us we would need to use the charcoal filters in the fan. No fault of fan, but realize there is a conversion piece that converts 10 x 3 1/4 inch box to round exhaust before you have it installed!

• I love the simple clean look it. The fan is relatively quite and the light is bright enough to actually illuminate the stove. Would buy this again.

• I wasn't able to install an over the range microwave with venting system due to space constraints. I wanted a new Stainless Steel Hood to compliment all my Maytag appliances. After looking at all the others out there, this Maytag unit was the best choice. I went with this one mainly for the design, It looks fantastic and I get so many compliments on it. Not only does it look great but it functions great too! It handles the steam, grease, odors (Charcoal Filter) with ease. The halogen lights (2) shed plenty of light on the stove top while cooking. This unit can be vented both outside or recirculating. I had mine converted so that it recirculates since I live in a high rise condo. I am very pleased with this purchase.

• The Whirlpool 30-inch convertible under-cabinet hood came with my appliance package installed in my new home. I have always been please with Whirlpool products and this hood is great. My prior hood experiences were over the stove microwaves, so this is my first hood only application.The built in lighting illuminates the entire cooking surface and surrounding area. I like to see while I cook and this hood does not disappoint. Plenty of light for all corners of the cooking surface, and I can even see down into my deepest pots.The 3-speed fan is awesome. The high setting moves a lot of air, lifting steam and heat up out of your face. I have used the high fan setting while cleaning my oven for the first time. I was impress on how it pulled all the smells of a very hot oven out of the kitchen. Great suction! The medium speed is great for all my normal cooking including one skillet activity plus other pans. The low speed is very quiet but don't let that fool you. This quiet fan ventilates more air than it sounds, and it's great for normal baking oven activities to lift heat coming out of the oven vent. Plus I use the low setting while heating the tea kettle.I am really pleased with this Whirlpool 30-inch under-cabinet hood and recommend this to anyone that is in the market for a new hood for over the range. This hood is a pleasure to use, and I look forward to to many years of trouble free use.

• I have used this hood for about 3 mo. and it is great. It moves enough air that I rarely use any speed other than low. Easy to clean very Quiet on every speed except High. Lights up my cook top almost too well. You will keep your cook top clean.

• We are on our third of these rangehoods. It fits perfectly over our stove, with cabinets above, glass backsplash tile below, wiring & vent placement which is why we keep going back to the same model. I don't recall why we replaced the first one or how long it lasted. The 2nd one we had for maybe 5 years & developed the same problems others mentioned with the fan speed buttons not working. Other than that we've been happy with them, although I would hope Whirlpool might fix this problem so many seem to have with the buttons malfunctioning. Mostly though I hope Whirlpool will keep making this model as we will likely need to replace it again in the (hopefully not too near) future.

• Ours is exhausted to the outside and works very well at removing odors, steam and heat. Fairly quiet on low and medium, but high speed is horribly noisy. I woud recommend it only if you don't mind an extremely loud exhaust fan when used on its high setting.

• Love the style of the hood, the vent and lights. The only thing I'd change would be that in less than 4 months of living in our home, the hood is already showing signs of rust on the sides where steam enters the vents. Need rust proof material.

• I have three complaints about this range hood. 1) Lights are extremely hot. 2) Unit is loud, I only use the lowest setting. 3) too many seams,greasy build up.

• The hood was working fine for about a year and then the fan switches wouldn't stay on . As soon as I release the buttons it turns off. All three of them. The light switch works. Disappointed !
