• Terrible freezer. It constantly fills up with ice everywhere, on the walls, on the lid, even inside ziplock bags building up ice on the foods itself. I called for warranty and was told this is normal for freezer to build up ice. I can’t believe in 2025 we don’t know how to make proper freezers that don’t build up ice.

• Our freezer arrived on July 12. But we had electrical work and several inspections going on, so while we plugged it in to make sure it worked, we couldn’t set it up until August 5th. And then within one day of setting it up we noticed frost inside! It turns out there’s a gap in the front almost the entire length of the unit that’s clearly visible. I’ve called four times (first Home Depot who then called Whirlpool twice) and then again last week and this week. We missed the 48-hour return window and now have to wait two weeks for a local service tech to come. And I was told that if it’s not deemed a manufacturer defect, then I have to pay $100. My only recourse is to try to use my extended warranty through Home Depot. But beware that whirlpool does not provide a return or replacement on any appliance even within 30 days. Although the freezer is roomy and quiet, this has been a very disappointing experience. Whirlpool is simply not the company it used to be.

• I purchased my Whirlpool freezer about 3 weeks ago, I have it in my garage and I love it. I ordered a whole hog and a half of cow. The hog is in the freezer and when the cow arrives it will go in the freezer as well. Plenty of room the interior light is a nice feature. Overall, I love this product.

• Just short of a year the freezer stopped working. It’s was still under warranty so I contacted Whirlpool. A few day later a service company came out. They ordered the parts needed. I received an email from Whirlpool informing me they were experiencing significant delays and to feel free to contact them after 21 days if the parts had not arrived I call Whirlpool multiple times in hopes of having the parts expedited and was informed each time that I had to wait the 21 days to see if the parts arrived. So now I am stuck with a freeze that does not work and no where to store my food. I would not recommend purchasing this freeze.

• I bought it one week ago. I like that it is compact with a lot of space inside and I also got a reasonable price because it is on sale. I will recommend it

• I wanted to upgrade from my smaller and older freezer. I like this new freezer a lot. The upper chest door stays open on its own, there's inside lights and I love the three individual baskets to put food items in, so much easier to find things and not have everything all stacked up on each other. The one thing that I have noticed that is a little disappointing, is that ice seems to form all around on the inside much quicker than even it did on my much older model. I haven't defrosted it yet, but it's only been a few months that I have had this new freezer. I also like the feature that it could be turned into a refrigerator if needed.

• The key they show (for $50) isn't even the correct key. They do not have the correct one nor does OEM Market because Whirlpool never noted the exceptions manufactured even in their own records.

• Whirlpool freezer was delivered about 2 weeks ago. Runs nice and freezes food well. Person who registered on phone insisted we buy a service contract! Don’t you have confidence in your product? Freezers and refrigerators used to have 5 to10 year warranties on their compressors. The freezer this one replaced is at least 40 years old - and still working. We never received any warranty information on this appliance! This freezer is in our garage and when it’s dark out there I see a dim light flashing about 4 to 5 times per minute coming from the compressor compartment. I hope this is not electrical arcing coming from a system using explosive gas used for the refrigerant!

• Bout this about a year ago. Has worked great for the year. Last week I opened it up and everything was warm, pretty sure the compressor burned out. Lost a bunch of meat, breast milk, and other food items. Very disappointed. Won’t be buying whirlpool again for sure.

• There is much to like about this freezer, the adjustable temperature, the red and green visible lights to show the unit is powered and at temperature, the illumination on the lid to provide interior light and the multi-level storage bins to arrange food items. The lid is counterbalanced to stay in position when open and the size is really ideal for our use. The storage bins are metal, but the clips that hold the basket in position are plastic. Our unit is 2 weeks old, so I have no opinion on the reliability of the unit over time. The delivery and removal of our old unit was efficient and the crew was respectful. We are happy with the purchase that fit our needs.

• Seems to be a good, functioning freezer. We received only three of the 4 promised baskets. The other wire stabilizers that sit in the bottom of the freezer are worthless- they don't even serve to divide the sections. The basket clips are cheap and will easily break. Bottom line, the organization of space is no better than any other freezer and worse quality than our old freezer.

• Have owned many Whirlpool appliances in the last 30-40 yrs...In the past ,they all came with a decent operators manual that included a COMPLETE parts diagram. Wanted to buy additional wire baskets for this chest freezer... Spent considerable time searching using model No.for baskets.... No luck... I was a Commercial ,Restaurant Equipment Repair Contractor for 25 years....

• It appears to be working fine. I can tell you better in a few years. We have a problem with the baskets. They have a tendency fall down.

• Our new freezer is just what we needed. It has plenty of space and is very quiet and well made. It also has settings that allow adjusting to refrigerator temperatures which is nice in case there’s a problem with the refrigerator.

• This is a very nice chest freezer and the only complaint I have is the cheap rollers that are put on the front and none on the back. How much extra does it cost to install decent rollers on a nice freezer. Very bad design!! But I'm sure no one that has any authority at Whirlpool will not contact me directly about this poor and cheap design.

• This unit replaced an existing freezer. Basket system in new freezer is flimsy and really only one layer. Quality of new freezer compared to one replaced is much cheaply made. Basket layer design could be much better if they would have designed rails for the different layers instead of a cheap wire rack design.

• It was for use as a replacement, until our commercial ones arrive for our new Pantry. But it is so invaluable to us being both fresh/frozen storage, it will now find a place in that system, as well. This is an incredible purchase for home, pantry, or business. I assure you that you would not be sorry…

• After having two upright freezers and thinking that I had to buy them for the ease of finding things, I changed my mind after both always had trouble with the defrost mode working right and the water would collect on the bottom and freeze the bottom basket in and then leak water out the front. So while checking out chest freezers, I found this one that has three baskets that can be moved around. Love it so far Let's see how it does in the long haul.

• I bought this freezer about ten months ago. The light in the lid stopped working within hours of delivery. Within a few days, one of the baskets collapsed. The construction is of lightweight, flimsy materials; the workmanship is shoddy. DISAPPOINTING

• The Chest Freezer does not seal and the latch/lock does not lock. Whirlpool has sent a repair person twice and it still has not been fixed. Now waiting for replacement seal and latch. If the freezer would seal and lock, I would be satisfied.
