• I’ve only had this freezer for a few weeks but I love it. My favorite? The storage on the door. There are deep shelves that hold all my baking add-ins perfectly. I store nuts and fruits, extra yeast, in Quart size Ball canning jars and theses fit perfectly on the door shelving. No more rooting around to find the dried cranberries! The inside shelves are spacious and can hold everything with room to spare. The freezer fits beautifully in a corner of my kitchen. No more running down to the back of my basement to grab the frozen biscuits for dinner. So convenient! Just really love this freezer.

• Looked at a great number of freezers prior to purchase. Decided on this one. The day of delivery, the company called to say they were out of them and offered me a great price on a larger model of a different brand. I am so glad I didn't settle. Love the front controls, lighting and fast freeze. Purchased a 1/4 of a cow and the optimal temp was reached very quickly with the fast freeze. Most importantly, so grateful for the alarm. The day after getting the beef, the circuit tripped because of something that happened in the garage. I would have gone to work and not known about it had I not been alerted.Its attractive and functional. So glad I waited for this one.

• Have always had a chest style freezer and was always digging to find anything and was always at the bottom. Now we have a shelf for beef, pork, chicken and misc. The door shelves are great for smaller items frozen vegetables and more.

• Bought one from big box store, had it delivered and setup and 30min-1hour later the unit quit working. Called whirlpool and they sent out a tech 5 days later who did not know what was wrong and said it would take 3 weeks to get a part. Called manager at big box store and he had another unit delivered in 4 days, same make and model. Now 1 year later, had a over temp alarm on control board so I pressed the button to turn the alert off and the whole unit died when I touched that button. Now, being an electronic tech I had tested the board in the old unit and new unit and they were both blown.

• My freezer was delivered about a month ago, and I am so pleased with it. After losing food 3 times w/in 18 months, it was time for a new one. I purchased this freezer because of the frost free, fast freeze, and temperature alarm features. The fast freeze reached a "freezable" stage w/in 6 hours, but I waited until the next day to add food. We did put 3 bags of ice in it, and there was no melting. It is in my laundry room which is adjacent to our dining/living area, and runs so quietly. The size is perfect for my family. I searched for several months for a smaller freezer with big freezer features, and Whirlpool delivered.

• Steer clear of these junky products, I bought my freezer 2 yrs ago and it's already not working. I called customer service and the reply was sorry out of warranty. I get that but 2yrs it's all I can expect from this freezer! Not to mention 900.00 loss in unfrozen food! Now here is where it goes from bad to worse, I call for a repairman and he is unable to fix it because whirlpool has no parts and don't even know if they ever will!!!. So there ya go. I hate to see another person go down the path that I have taken. Find a different product!

• Unit has been in use for about 3 weeks. This is my third Whirlpool freezer that I have owned over the last 30 years. The others never died, they were sold or given to friends. I installed an ice maker in this unit to have plenty of ice for fishing and it is working great.My last upright was a 20 cubic foot model but I thought that might be too large for my current needs. I loaded this freezer with over 100 pounds of fish and that left some room for additional items.This model does not have all the fancy features, but the price was reasonable and it serves it's purpose.

• I bought this model five years ago. It recently stopped freezing. I bought it from Home Depot. My local appliance repairman inspected it and determined that something had been modified to it causing the failure over time. A photo is attached.The repair would cost as much as the freezer originally cost. I called whirlpool and essentially they were very unhelpful. They referred a local whirlpool repairman who called to set up an appointment. I told him what my usual repairman had said. I sent a photo of the modified part. He said absolutely the part was not right and was causing the problem. As far as I know the freezer was not a return from another customer. It was manufactured in August 2015 and delivered early September 2015. I had no repairs done on the freezer as it worked fine. Whirlpool will do nothing and neither will Home Depot. I’m really disappointed that I have a newish freezer that was modified according to two repairman and neither Whirlpool or Home Depot will step up. I will never buy another appliance from Whirlpool, Jennair Maytag or other related companies.

• I purchased this freezer about a month ago and it is working great! It has an alarm, a lock, and the fast freeze. The chest freezer is still the energy saver as when you open the door to the upright, all the cold escapes, so be quick about food search. With the upright, you know what is stored without taking out food to see what is at the bottom as with the chest, and no bending and hand freezing. The fast freeze is wonderful, especially when you have another errand upon leaving the grocery store and your food is partially thawed. I gave the 4 stars because I've only had the model a month.

• Replaced our Whirlpool freezer that we had for 41 years and love the size. Not having to defrost this one is a plus. We had so much use out of the old one that we replace it with this one.

• This freezer replaced a 17.5 cu. ft. frost-free upright freezer that we had used for 20 years. The Whirlpool is smaller but the shelves are adjustable, which is ideal for me and the way I cook & shop. At 76, ease of use is vital for me. This unit fills the same spot as the old one did and gives me a little more space on either side. My only regret is that it opens to the right. The best part so far, is the time this unit needs to reached 0 degrees or lower. Whirlpool is a well-known brand; I am very pleased I bought this freezer. Thank you, Whirlpool.

• Love it, but wish it had more shelves. Much better than my old Fridgidare. I really wanted a 13cuft but I'm extremely happy with the 16cuft as the height is the same.

• Got this for Christmas from two of my sons. It replaces my chest freezer. Now that I am getting older, it is so nice not to have to lean into the freezer and shuffle stuff around to find items. And I love the shelves on the door. Just right for frozen vegetables and nuts.

• Absolutely awful customer service. They are the designated service company for my Whirlpool upright freezer under extended warranty. Not only do you constantly get a busy signal on their 866-336-9068 main number, but they do not pick up the 732 451-4260 local number and the voicemail box is always full so no messages can be left. The freezer stopped working on Sept. 25th and it is now Oct. 16th. Still not working because the Alliance service technician who came to diagnose what was wrong ordered the completely wrong part. Service technician #2 took over a week to get back to us, and said we can’t fix it because we don’t have the right part. This is a 3-ring circus. Save yourself a major headache and look elsewhere. This is the SECOND burnt out motor on this unit which is only 5 years old.

• Need more than one small and one large shelves inside, had to spend over $200 for two more large and one small shelves to fill all the empty built-in shelf brackets, also needs the drawer at bottom that the slides are molded for, yet drawer is unavailable

• I recently purchased this model and found it to have great capacity for its physical size. It is almost exactly the same exterior dimensions as my old Frigidaire but 2 cubic more space!. I also customized mine by adding 4 freezer baskets, one of the lower shelves, and a sliding basket at the bottom. I simply looked up the part number for the lower shelf and ordered a second one. The basket I found by finding the part number for the one that comes with the Whirlpool 18 cu Sidekicks model. Its the same width and height that would fit in this model. I just had to remove the plastic blocking panel at that is there on this model and the new basket just slid right in. Part number for the extra lower shelf is W10838313 and the lower basket is W10736043. Shop around as prices vary all over the place but I got the pair for about 120.00 shipped and they add great flexibility to your freezer and help to maximize usage of all its space. The freezer has been very good performance wise and so far I would call it the best bet for reliable American made product.

• My 19 year old freezer wasn't keeping ice cream firm. If I got anything out of it the temperature alarm would go off.I decided it was time to get a new one. Checked the internet for freezers to replace it. Found that this Whirlpool unit had all of the features I was looking for and was rated highly by consumers.I wanted to make sure I got one with a temperature alarm, since the old one saved me from losing everything in it - that would have been more than I was spending on this one.I am extremely happy with this freezer. It only runs when it needs to and the frost-free feature will save me a lot of time since it won't need defrosting. It runs very quietly. I also like that all of the shelves are adjustable which makes it nice for me to put them where I want them.

• Only lasted 4-weeks before failing causing significant food loss in the hundreds of dollars. I contacted warranty service immediately. The earliest appointment wouldn’t be available for 2-weeks. The repair technician spent about 10-minutes with the freezer and determined someone else would have to make the repairs. After not hearing anything from them for a week or so, I called and found out that a compressor and other parts were ordered and when they arrived they would call for an appointment. Two days later I received a text letting me know that Whirlpool needed at least 21-business days (4+Weeks) to find parts. I’ve now had the dead freezer for 12-weeks. Still haven’t heard from anyone. I will ever buy Whirlpool appliances again. At this point, Whirlpool should just replace the unit.

• We purchased this freezer in February, here it is the end of April and it is no longer keeping our food frozen! Now I need to contact someone to have it taken care of and honestly, do not have time to deal with this. like everyone, our lives are busy and when I purchased a whirlpool product I expected more than 2.5 months of service. This is a total disappointment for us.

• Bought this less than 2 months ago. Quit working and am now in the process of trying to get a “BRAND NEW” freezer repaired .Shouldn’t even be an option. It should be replaced and listed as the lemon it is.

• I am not complaining about this freezer. It has been a good purchase and I have had it over 3 years but I wish it had a bottom basket. I do not like placing my items on the floor of the freezer. I am willing to purchase a basket if they would just make one to fit this model. I keep looking for it to be available as I can't be the only person who wants one. I notice in the stores that the 19 cubic ft and above have a basket.

• I have had this freezer PHYSICALLY in my home for less than amonth. My food is not frozen and the alarm is continually going off. I wish:A. that I had not purchsed this feeezer,B. that I had not purchased it online from a Big Box retailer, who is not taking care of the problem for me.
