  • Solid refrigerator. Spacious enough to fit food for a household of 3 people plus more. So far it has maintained its temperature. It is easy for our toddler to open the fridge but that is not whirlpools fault. Overall we are enjoy it and happy with our purchase.

  • First Day moving in around doors were falling off. Refrigerator is small not big enough for large family

  • My refrigerator is only a yr old and it is completely out of service. Whirlpool sent out a company to fix the evaporator part...it is now week 4 the company has been out to my home 3 times unable to fix the situation. I am home with small children unable to have food in my home and un able to have Thanksgiving. When asked if they can provide a loaner since it’s their product the answer was we don’t do that here!!! I am extremely disappointed and completely frustrated! I don’t understand how within a yr of use I am having such difficulty. I would never recommend a whirlpool product to anyone!

  • In the frig, everything freezes or it not cold, ice cubes maker doesn't shut off when full, this is a pile of junk.

  • I bought this refrigerator not quite a month ago. After one day I noticed all these tiny brown dots all over the stainless steel door. I have purchased wipes and sprays for cleaning stainless steel. They have not worked. Whirlpool offered to pay for a service person to come look at the refrigerator door, but their service person no longer serves this area. I found out that no one within 100 miles serves this area. Yes, I live rurally, but this is ridiculous.

  • I bought my new refrigerator about a month ago. While the snowflake temperature indicators are cute, I had difficulty interpreting what they actually meant. Big snowflake = lots of snow, so that must mean colder right? No. Little snowflake, is actually the coldest setting and big snowflake is the warmest. The freezer also has a separate temperature setting that is more straight forward. The temps within the refrigerator have fluctuated from 20 degrees to 40 degrees. It’s cold, but maybe too cold. Aesthetically it is great. Easy to level and move into place. Still getting the hang of the temps.

  • It took a while to get the right setting for the freezer and the refrigerator and the humidity in the drawers, but in about a month, through trial and error we got it right. It helped that we bought also two thermometers to monitor the temperatures So, for the temperature part, we are happy. It refrigerates fine and fast. We are also happy that the shelves are transparent so we can see through. There is plenty of room. I don't like that I have to keep the 750ml bottles (soda, wine) horizontally - there is room for only two bottles to be placed in upright position. Plenty of room for regular cans, bottles of beer, jars.

  • We are very happy with our new refrigerator/freezer, & the ice maker is awesome! Black color matches other appliances we have!

  • I replaced my 20 yr old 18.4 top frezzer, refrig. with a Whirlpool, same style and size. They have made some nice improvements and I am happy with it. I like the outer texture of the unit, the brighter interior refrig light, the improved plastic clear drawers and sliding meat drawer. They removed the old style bottom kick plate that did not stay fastened and now it will be easier to clean under. It is quite and keeps things very cold. It would be nice if it had a light in the freezer and few more options to move the shelving inside and on the door. But plenty of storage space. Only had it less than a week. Keeping my fingers crossed.

  • Impossible to get the freezer under 20 degrees without going up to the highest setting (#4 out of 4) which then causes the fridge to be too cold (goes from 28-38) and causing food to freeze in the fridge. IMPOSSIBLE to reverse the doors correctly (TWO DIFFERENT SETS OF INSTALLERS FROM TWO DIFFERENT STORES BOTH FAILED AND EACH DAMAGED THE FRIDGE IN DIFFERENT WAYS causing me to waste many days/hours dealing with returns and getting replacements). If this is typical of how Whirlpool makes its products these days I will never buy anything "made" by Whirlpool again ( I would not be too surprised to learn Whirlpool makes nothing other than the insignia slapped on the front though).

  • I bought this refrigerator a few months ago and had to de-ice the top freezer twice. And yes, this is a “frost free” freezer. A Whirlpool technician came out to inspect and is having a new freezer door ordered…and some electrical sealant. He indicated air was seeping into the freezer. We are long time purchaser of the Whirlpool products and never experienced any issues. Sure hope the new door fixes the problem.

  • We purchased this on the 20th of December to replace an identical used one that we had purchased. The compresor on the old one went bad. So far so good with this new one. The LED lighting inside is nice and bright and I like how the upper drawer can slide from side to side to accommodate different positions. It's so nice having the included ice maker as the older one didn't have one. It's also very quiet. We like the textured surface that the freezer door and the sides of the refrigerator have, but find it odd that the refrigerator door has a smooth surface. Not sure if that was on purpose or if our particular fridge at some point was modified with a non matching replacement door. Thus, a 4 star review. Other than that we are very happy with it.

  • This is a solid appliance. The default settings are good enough that I don't feel the need to mess with them. It cools quickly and efficiently, and the only time I notice a sound is when the ice maker cycles. The shelves, while not very adjustable, are sufficient for my needs and actually fit more stuff than my previous refrigerator of similar dimensions. This may not be an impressive appliance in terms of features, but it does what it's supposed to do with no fuss, at an affordable price, while fitting in my small kitchen. It's a better version of the 20-year-old machine it replaced but similar enough to feel familiar.

  • The cooling works great . Happy with the room inside the fridge. The problem is as follows. Cannot level the refrigerator for the big ugly wheels . I don’t know if the shipping wheels we left on the fridge or what . I’ve tried to contact Home Depot with no reply .

  • I am very disappointed in the fact that I threw my money away when I bought this fridge. We first noticed problems when items in the freezer were soft And refrigerated items weren’t as cold as they should’ve been. We turn the freezer down and I didn’t solve the problem so we called a repairman. He replaced a part, which may have been the evaporator. This repair did not solve the problem so we had a repairman come out Again and he replaced another part. The problem continued and now this refrigerator is in our garage taking up space and waiting to go to the junkyard. I will never buy another appliance me by Whirlpool.

  • I had purchased my refrigerator, February 06, 2020... It’s been 12 days and it work beautifully. I have the temperature on recommended settings as well as freezer and its works great! I also love how the bottom bins for veggies just roll out with ease. And the shelf space it has on the door, especially because it has for different size for bottles and other foods. I like how the glass tops let you see what is on the bottom shelves and so easy to clean. And one more thing I love is my ice maker, its size and tray are perfect. I believe all refrigerators should have one, my works great!!! Thank You, Whirlpool!

  • I bought this on Jan. 8, 2019. A month ago, we noticed ice cream was NOT totally froze in the freezer, but the frigerator was freezing everything. No, the vents are not covered and, yes, we have changed the settings to no avail. This is a secondary fridge so it is not overloaded. VERY DISAPPOINTED in WHIRLPOOL...I've been a Whirlpool customer for 40 years, but NO MORE. I've heard Whirlpools only last about 7 years now, which I thought was rediculous due to the prices on these units, but less than 2 years??? Where is the customer service?? Do you not stand behind your products at all??? Shame on you!

  • I bought this refrigerator less than 3 years ago. I complained in the beginning at Lowes in Burlington, IA where I bought it & at Whirlpool. Frost builds up on my food & the refrigerator makes this loud noise that can be heard in other rooms approximately every 2-3 hours, lasting about 30-45 minutes. I had a repair man look at it & he said the freezer motor was bad & replaced it. It didn't change a thing. I've called him several times, but I can't seem to get him here during the time when the refrigerator is making the noise. I've had friends over & they ask me, "what is that noise?" I tell them my refrigerator. When they ask for the brand I tell them Whirlpool. Because of my experience, I will never by a Whirlpool appliances again! I was going to add a video of the noise, but had trouble doing so.

  • Bought this back in March. The icemaker took DAYS to produce ice. Contacted Badcock's...they came out looked at it......had to order a new part for the icemaker and we kept getting phone calls saying it was on "backorder"...........Finally in June we told Badcocks we wanted a new one. Got the new one 2 weeks ago and it sucks!! It says you can turn the temperature up and it will produce more ice, which it did, but FROZE things in the refrigerator on ALL shelves except for the drawers. So our choices are to either have ice on a daily basis or LITTLE ice and keep food from freezing in the rest of it. I haven't contacted Badcock yet but I am getting rid of this. It is a HORRIBLE

  • The replacement whirlpool refrigerator I purchased a few weeks ago is not as great a whirlpool product that I purchased 21 years ago. The new fridge has a deeper dimension, yet it is limited space inside. The shelves in the door are fixed and do not allow me to adjust for different sized items. The drawers (vegetable/fruit crisper) are smaller, and the ice maker is slower than the previous model. Ice cream isn't kept at a frozen temp as well as the previous model either and this is after I adjusted the temperature setting.

  • We had a 50 year old fridge in our basement that died. Since we needed the fridge, we went looking. The Whirlpool was available and seemed to fit the bill. I was amazed to learn the refrigerant is butane and at a relatively low pressure. We are still moving the shelves to see if we can accommodate the items we used to get in the older machine. (The old fridge was assumed to be about 12-15 cu. ft.) The new fridge is as quiet as the old, which is good. The one feature we miss most is a light in the freezer. We did not get the ice maker as there is no water available near the fridge. So far, we haven't gotten the freezer to maintain 0.0 deg. Otherwise we are satisfied with the purchase.

  • Once we read the manual and learned that we were supposed to let the refrigerator run for 24 hours prior to adding food, it has been a perfect replacement for our home. Although there is no light in the freezer, the light from our kitchen makes it possible for us to find what we need. Our model keeps both the freezer and refrigerator at the correct temperature. There is plenty of storage and enough shelving for us to place our items where we know we will be able to find them. This is our fourth Whirlpool appliance and we have found all of them to be excellent appliances for the money.

    Anonymous11/19/2015 06:00 PM

  • We bought ours in 2015/16, and it worked great for a while. I never liked the inside configuration (leftovers constantly get shoved behind stuff and lost, which did NOT happen in our previous fridge which had better shelves/compartments). DH chose this fridge, and we are both sorry that he did. On to current problem: in the past 8 months, our freezer hasn't kept things frozen. To add insult to injury, the icemaker tries to make ice but the cubes melt into a big lump. I ended up just permanently turning off the ice maker. We are VERY unhappy with this product, and probably will not buy another Whirlpool ANYTHING ever again. Whatever happened to Whirlpool being a good, reliable company? BUYER BEWARE!
