  • This cooktop replaced a 27 year old Whirlpool cooktop. I'm a little disappointed in the quality of the glass in the new one. One of the small burners has a 2" scratch and it's only a month old. I love the cooktop but be aware it seems to scratch easily. If you see what looks like a big half circle " scratch" on the right rear burner... It's to show the outline of the small inside burner. All in all, it's a beautiful top. It's our second Whirlpool glass top cook surface. The last one held up over 27 years!

  • It is not a good design, large burners are on the back and hard to use. You need to lean over. Other big problem, just by using it, it gets dirty. Big white marks around the burner. We only been using for 15 days but it looks like cooktop is 2 years old. Easily gets marks just by putting any pan and use it for 10mins.

    Venki01/16/2025 03:42 AM

  • The cook top came with the house and while it does look beautiful and cook pretty decent, cleaning this thing is bad enough to make me look in to getting another kind...I'm not sure of the thought process behind making everything but the burners textured but things get stuck in the grooves and are impossible to clean off. Everything I use on it leaves dust and particles behind (paper towel, microfiber towel, dish towel, clorox wipe, etc) and I can't ever get it completely clean and shiny. I will more than likely be getting rid of this in the next year or so because my kitchen always looks dirty now :(

    FraserFamily03/25/2025 01:18 AM

  • Extremely disappointed with this product. After the first use the cooktop air bubbles appeared on the cooktop. Cleaning products won't remove them and because it's past 30 days Whirlpool won't fix it. Whirlpool sent a technician and he said it was a known cosmic issue and whirlpool would not cover it. If this is a know issue why hasn't this been recalled? Disappointed in Whirlpool. I did not have this issue with a previous electric cooktop from a different company.

  • Fit and finish great. Working great. Hard to keep from streaking when cleaning but looks beautiful when done

    Rfie11/27/2023 06:16 AM

  • I purchased this cooktop a month ago. As far a heating/cooking it works fine however, after using it a few times, the burners show marks as if the glass coating is coming off. I'm very unhappy with that plus when I clean it with soap and a soft sponge or a soft cloth it leaves smear marks all over it and doesn't look nice. I would not have bought it if I had know of these two problems. Also, another features for me is that I do not like the controls in the front; they actually get in the way when I'm cooking. Much prefer controls on the side.

    BevEH04/02/2020 04:04 AM

  • If you love to cook, it's a poor design. Both large burners are in the back, so you have to work around what's warming on the front. It came with the new house, so we're stuck with it. Would love to trade it in for another Whirlpool design with the large burners in the front and dials on the side.

    bonz195703/29/2024 02:22 AM

  • Great product and cleans up easily. It looks great, too. The “warmer” feature Is an added bonus.

    Kimberly82301/21/2019 02:17 PM

  • I filed a claim to my home warranty insurance which i g=had to replace my cooktop with this 36-inch Electric Ceramic Glass Cooktop with Dual Radiant Element. Over all I am happy with the product but I think it would work better if it had one of the big burner on the other side both of the in the back just doesn't work for me. It hurts my back while cooking.

    erc3307/07/2021 05:43 AM

  • I'll be honest: I've never been a fan of glass cooktops. Though it's easy to clean, in one sense, the surface also degrades easily with regular use. It does cook things reasonably well, and it can each both low temps on low and high temps on high, especially on the larger dual element burner. The problem, of course, is that this is GLASS. Think about the heavy metal things you use on a stove. For me, though, it wasn't dropping a big, heavy pot that did the damage. It was just a small metal mixing cup that I dropped at just the right spot on the EDGE, which is raised, and unlike some glass cooktops, is not protected at all by a metal band. That created a small chip (kind of a triangle shape, and quarter inch at the widest part). Within a week or two, the glass cooktop CRACKED all the way across. So now it's going to mean either replacing the glass top (which will be several hundred dollars), or more likely, replacing the whole unit. When there's a risk that one small mistake could break your whole stove, why go with glass? I never would again.

  • We bought into a new development, the builder equipped the kitchen with Whirlpool appliances. This remark is specific to the cooktop. The cooktop is fine, it meets expectations except for the control dials. They are black against a black background and the line showing the heat setting for the burners is almost invisible. Whirlpool could easily have provided a white or red line to provide contrast to make the heat setting easily visible. This would greatly enhance kitchen safety.

    Mostly satisfied10/21/2024 01:19 AM

  • It works well enough but the design is defective and flawed. It already chipped in two places. It should be designed with a metal rim. Save your money or only install it recessed.

    Lindy10/13/2025 06:39 AM

  • I had a choice of 2 cook tops that would fit in my granite cutout. I wished I had chosen the other. In all my 40+ years of cooktops, I’ve never seen one that didn’t have the dual heat unit or at least one large unit at the front. It is very difficult to prepare the food in a large fry pan or pot when having to mix, turn or toss the ingredients at the back near backsplash. Likewise, I agree with the other reviewers regarding the white streaks on the ceramic, as well as the difficulty of cleaning it. I’ve only had it for a month and it looks like it’s 10+ years old.

    Sam 2508/30/2025 02:18 PM

  • Despite being very careful when cooking, the first time it was used it already had scratches. It is difficult to keep it clean and scratch-free... It looks beautiful, but it is very delicate...

    Tony04/15/2022 04:57 PM

  • Scratches easy and hard to clean. Wish the big burners were in the front versus the back since you use them the most.

    Troy01/07/2022 01:56 AM

  • i really like the cooktop, easy to care for, heats up really quickly and the cool down is pretty decent. The only thing I wish was different is that one of the big burners was on the front.I am on the short side would just be easier and more conveinient ,especially when you've got a pot of soup and your serving from the pot,and when your cooking something that needs to be continuously tended too.

    boal 11001/01/2020 09:15 AM

  • Our new cooktop looks great, performs great, and was easy to install to replace our old 50+ year old cooktop. Controls are well-placed and easy to use. One suggestion for improvement would be to make the settings easier to read, perhaps white lettering on the dials. Overall,we love it. I am ready to replace our 50+ year old wall oven now.

    NC native05/18/2020 01:06 AM

  • I would have given this a 5 star if it would have came on a timely manor. I ordered in October at lowes and it came in December. We had to cook Thanksgiving dinner in a microwave. I was promised to have it by Nov 18. not sure how dropped the ball but the stove has been working great so far.

    Stevensf12/17/2019 02:41 AM

  • This Cooktop came with the new house. It operates properly but a few things could be better; 1. eliminate the knobs and go with electronic panel that keeps the cooktop easy to clean; 2. delineate the heating area better so when a pan is in place you can more easily see where it should be.

    Dishy10/12/2024 12:54 AM

  • My old Cooktop was about 20 years old so it was time for an update and whirlpool gave me just the one I needed! It cooks evenly, almost like a gas range. I’m quite impressed with the cooktop and wish I had gotten it a lot sooner! Technology has come along way since I bought my old one and I’m so happy now that I have my new one! I also got it because I wanted to update my kitchen before we put our house on the market. I won’t be taking it with me but when I buy my new house, I know what kind of cooktop want!

    Apb53008/24/2025 05:21 AM

  • I built my own home and was excited to install the 36inch Electric cooktop. The design and finish is beautiful and works well. My biggest concern is the first time I used the double burner, bubbles are visible under the glass cooktop. I referenced the manual and purchased the appropriate cleaning product. But the bubbles under the glass remain unfortunately. This is the only burner on the top that appears to have this flaw. I am not sure if it is normal for the double burner, but very visually unappealing

    Darb07/24/2024 01:54 AM

  • Cook top was in a spec home. I would not select this cooktop. Small ridges on surface makes it difficult to clean. Takes a long time to heat to cook, difficult to control an even cooking temperature while cooking and takes a long time to cool off to clean

    CynthiaHS06/22/2020 11:59 AM

  • This was a builder installed unit in my new home. Previously used gas so there has been a bit of a learning curve for me as far as how well it works. That said, it works well, heats up quickly once you use the right settings. Just sensitive to the fact that I am now dealing with a glass top versus cast iron so have to be really careful to avoid scratches or hits. Also need to clean more often than for other types of stoves as stuff can get burnt on really quickly. So far, so good, it works well

    Sheikh09/25/2024 12:51 AM

  • I was looking for a stove top with 5 eyes. Found this one & it's been great. I like the feature that one eye is dual. Meaning it can be big or small. The warming eye is a great feature as well.
