  • The 7.4 cu. ft. Front Load Electric Dryer with Steam Cycles and 5.0 cu. ft. Front Load Washer.... that I bought like 22 days ago, so far everything's so perfect and amazing how quickly the clothes comes out clean and without any noise in machine....

    FMac08/03/2019 12:51 PM

  • I bought this product last January. Since the day that it was delivered it never worked correctly. Despite many, many calls, technicians coming out and diagnosing the problems then coming back to change the parts that were faulty … then coming back to replace those parts time and time again. I made many calls and sent many emails and messages and I still have this dryer that does NOT work as it should. Sad thing is I had the same dryer in the model before this one and the second one was supposed to be better with improvements based on the former one, yet this new one has been nothing but a headache.

  • I purchased this machine after monitoring the wattage usage of a ~12 year old kenmore elite dryer. I purchased it because I wanted the most efficiency, (what whirlpool advertises) and for the cost, was hoping it would pay off eventually. I was all for longer drying times as long as I use less electricity. I am not sure if mine came broken, but it is using the same total wattage for the same load of laundry in my old dryer. I have used many of the settings to see if it makes a difference. It does not. My load times are averaging over 2 hours to finish, and yes it is draining water.. I also just purchased a brand new commercial washing machine, and I am running the extra spin cycle as well. This dryer is infuriating to say the least. Hoping someone can look into this issue and make it right.

  • We built a new home and purchased all Whirlpool Appliances! We have had Whirlpool over the years and have been very satisfied.

    Cookntam02/20/2020 04:43 AM

  • This condensing dryer promises to be the solution to compact condensing dryers. For the first two years it delivered then the fine lint began to accumulate behind the screen that protects the condensing unit. Whereas other mfrs allow you to service the condenser, Whirlpool does not. Slowly performance has deteriorated until now it takes two - two hour cycles to dry bath towels. Sheets are still damp after 1 hour 45 minutes. It’s now a boat anchor waiting for the “Got-Junk” truck. Essentially a $400 per year depreciation to end of life.

    Disappointed Mike11/28/2022 04:34 AM

  • From the get go, the dryer requires at least 2 repeat drying cycles to really the cloths. I spoke to Whirlpool customer service to address my complaint and they insist my problem is from poor ventilation. I explain the dryer vent is a straight run out the rear of the dryer…my previous Maytag dryer had NO venting or drying issues using the same ventilation shoot. I’m using much more electricity than my previous unit…I’m not happy. If a repairman fixes the problem maybe I can in good conscience rate the dryer more stars.

  • I’ve had this dryer for about a month now and it has been an absolute pleasure to use. Going from a dryer from the early 2000’s with loose bearings and a whole host of other issues, this dryer has been quite the upgrade. Though, perhaps standard on many other dryers, the temperature options are wonderful on this machine and it really seems to handle my more delicate clothes exactly how I want it to. The sensor-dry is the nicest feature and, though not always perfect with bulkier items, it’s nothing 15 more minutes on a timed-dry can’t fix. (There is a bulkier items option, I just don’t often have enough bulky items to dedicate a load to them)

    Haydeen03/28/2023 12:38 AM

  • I have had nothing but issues with this dryer since it was delivered on 12/10/19. It goes into lock mode whenever it feels like. The power shuts off completely and the only way to get power back is to unplug the dryer for at least 5 minutes. The front panel that sets the time for drying does not work all the time. Do not purchase this dryer unless you want a huge headache! Hopefully no one else has these issues. Plus the drying time is much greater than the dryer time on my old Whirlpool. Yesterday, the dryer stopped working and I had to use my neighbors Samsung dryer to dry the towels. It was much more efficient. If you want more info, please contact me.

    Horribly Unhappy12/30/2019 05:27 AM

  • This dryer was in my newly built condo when I moved in 26 months ago. Over the past month, it started taking 5+ hours to dry a load of clothes. I called a repairman thinking it was the lint problem I am reading about in other reviews but the repairman discovered that the freon tube wore through from rubbing against the left side of the cabinet, likely due to sloppy assembly. Since the unit has no freon, it is basically air drying the clothes. It is ridiculous that I need to replace a 2 year old dryer that cost this much money.

    Barbara12/27/2023 08:00 AM

  • I was amazed to find a 27' ventless dryer, so I bought it. The first dryer was immediately broken - the compressor was defective so the dryer made an awful noise every time it was on. To their credit, Whirlpool replaced it in relatively little time (1 mo). 9 months later, the second dryer is broken. It just collects water in the drum and makes all the clothes warm and wet. We'll see what happens with the repair people this time around. For an expensive dryer, it has been a huge hassle, and clearly not worth the money. Bad engineering.

    Brooklyn Dry09/09/2020 02:12 AM

  • I have had this unit for 3 years. Lint makes its way into heat exchanger and the unit stops working. The only way to remedy is to take the entire think apart and clean the heat exchanger. I have put in requests for service calls over the years but have never been successful, so have become my owner dryer repair person by watching youtube videos. Wish there were another full size heat pump dryer or that this was better designed.

    chalnick06/30/2022 02:31 AM

  • This exact dryer in our second home has been used exactly 25 times. From day 1 it took hours to dry clothes. Recently, after 2 years, it stopped drying and only blows cool air. It’s nothing but a piece of junk. We had our home builder that provided this appliance approach Whirlpool for some kind of relief on a new vented dryer. Their reply was that it’s a one year warranty and that’s it. I happen to own rental apartments and have 55 appliances (many that are Whirlpool) at last count. Rest assured, Whirlpool will never see a bit of business from me again. The appliance repairman who came and diagnosed it as shot days says that this is a common early life occurrence with Whirlpool ventless dryer. I cannot recommend Whirlpool or any semblance of reasonability by them. As a result I won’t support them any further.

    James06/20/2021 06:38 AM

  • If Whirlpool can’t see the extreme defects in this appliance they need to close down as a business. Like every other recent review, YOU have to do all the work because this dryer isn’t capable. The lint build up in the heat exchanger is so extreme (and impossible to get to) that this dryer will not dry your clothes. SHAME ON YOU WHIRLPOOL! After 40+ years of buying your appliances I’ll never buy another product from you or your affiliates.

    Ginger08/15/2022 12:51 AM

  • Love the machine itself. It’s large enough to accommodate The jeans of my sons and husband who are over 6 ft tall. Unfortunately due to my utility closet being a bit tight I can’t pull the drawers for the detergents all the way out and my dryer door can only opens a little more then half. Wish the back of the machines were more flat. If space is not an issue for you then this is a good set.

    Anonymous07/30/2020 12:28 AM

  • I bought this in September haven't even used it much and it doesn't dry my clothes as well as it's been smoking and gives off a odor of burning wires. Been without a dryer now for almost two months, waiting for a tech to look at it, they were supposed to come and fix it two days ago and they called out last minute and now stuck waiting for another week for it be fixed. I rather a new dryer, this is a hazard.

    Lyn9311/17/2022 05:02 AM

  • We bought this and its companion washer with a Black Friday deal. It replaces a 20 year old (!) Kenmore Elite that we felt was probably on borrowed time. We love it so far. It’s a little taller than my previous setup but at 5’2” and the shortest in the house I can manage to see the top controls. It is quiet and works great with plenty of options. We didn’t want a unit with Wi-Fi as it would just be something else to break. Now let’s cross our fingers this one lasts as long as the one we just replaced.

    Zola12/29/2024 03:59 AM

  • I bought this as an early Christmas gift for myself and I am pleased to say I am happy with my decision. It was easy for my plumber to instal and I live the steam function. I recently recommended to my plumber brother and he just made the purchase and is delighted.

    Kiara11/12/2024 02:46 PM

  • My dryer was delivered and installed. The installers then ran it for t a few seconds to show me that it worked before leaving. The next day I tried to dry my first load, at 9 minutes in it stopped and showed an error. I called the store I purchased it, they said to call Whirlpool. Whirlpool’s service came out ordered parts came back installed parts, still didn’t work. 3 weeks after receiving I finally got the store to replace. Then a week later the brand new washer broke. It took Whirlpool multiple service calls and 3 months of a broken washer to finally agree to replace! This set is junk!!!

    Danakitty12304/13/2020 03:32 AM

  • I have had this dryer about 3 weeks and I love it. I had originally picked out a lesser model but upgraded before delivery. I am really loving it and hope it lasts the 13 plus years my Whirlpool Duet did.

    Khaki10/26/2023 04:43 AM

  • It needs to be recalled! Terrible design. Lint and pet fur gets past the double filter and into the machine. I clean the filters every time. Then the loud squealing started! Called the tech and they have the machine as being purchased a year and a half ago. I've had it under a year! They have the distributors purchase date in their system and the tech couldn't do anything. It would be over $800 to repair! And if the inside of this machine looks like the other reviews, this has to be a fire hazard! Dissatisfied with the product and customer service. Whirlpool missed the mark on this one!

    MaciCat06/30/2024 04:47 AM

  • The electronic keyboard panel is absolutely awful. Only had to weeks and have to push buttons numerous times. The steam button feature rarely works. I am goiimg to insist they replace it. Many times the clothes aren’t dry with any sensor settings even on “most dry” option. My 20 year old Kenmore (Whirlpool) worked better but unfortunately did not have part to repair. The controls are not intuitive in any way. 321 countdown to start is the most ignorant thing. I’m disappointed especially for the cost. Whirlpool needs to step it up for appliances that are this expensive. It’s not like the dryer was a low end model.

    Julie12/21/2023 05:58 AM

  • This is the worst dryer I have ever had in my life. The design is totally faulty and it should be recalled for it by the manufacture. The lint gets into the machine and clogs up the unit. The metal filter in the front cannot be removed and so we had to cut the metal in order for us to access the clogged up unit. With a soft toothbrush we had to clean out thick layers of lint. Because the machine accumulates lint everywhere (and we clean the filters after every time we use it), it takes hours for anything to dry. Horrible machine!

    Caroline11/10/2023 01:08 PM

  • Bought the most efficient option to try to minimize power bought from the utility in a rural area. It stopped working within 6 months and the local dealer didn't even know what a ventless or heat pump dryer was. Messed around and finally went direct to Whirlpool site to try to get service before warranty expired to no avail. They sent me to the same dealer who never showed up.
