I was tired of the big bulky looking microwaves above my stove! I am 65 and have had many! This one is sleek and looks amazing. It works and cooks better than any I have had! I like the buttons are inside behind the door! Quick guide on inside of door! Clock show and cook minutes in white! Fan has 2 speeds which are perfect! The light is awesome. It can be hooked to outside vent or recirculating. This microwave was worth spending the extra $ on! You get what you pay! Don’t hesitate it’s a great product .

We purchased this microwave just about 3 years ago and within the first year it began to split/crack. I am absolutely gutted this is happening as this is an expensive microwave and we were so excited as it was a low profile microwave that fit the space perfectly. The microwave keeps continuing to split and crack and chunks of plastic have come off. The microwave is kept in perfect condition, always cleaned but the quality is just not there… really really upset I have to say. We haven’t damaged the microwave in anyway so I don’t understand why it splits and cracks literally all over.. also I’ve tried to reach out to customer service via social media and their online chat and cannot speak to an actual person. I go through the automated questions and then just says it can’t assist me. Definitely do NOT recommend.

This is a unit that makes your kitchen look like it is from the future With the motorized door opener , the suction is great at more than 24” away, the external light is halogen and weak, the grease filters are inadequate, since the filtering material will let most of the grease go through

The door hangs down, it’s not straight, but is loose enough that I can manually push it up.The left side panel is not flush like it should be, wider on top than on the bottom and very apparent. I have pictures of this if you can direct me how to send them, it is not allowing me to do it below

My husband and I bought a house and decided to put a low profile microwave in over the stove. I'm so glad we did! The design of the microwave allows for plenty on stove top space and allows me to keep the cabinet above! It user friendly and looks great. We've received many compliments as well! The microwave offered more space than I thought it would. So far, all my dishes have fit! I would definitely recommend this appliance!

I like the microwave once get it and installed. Was looking so great!. Now that it is out of warranty, the cracks/dents are showing up on the bottom front of the plastic part of the door. Started as little crack on a top of the bottom piece and now bottom part cracked through. It is definitely bad plastic, but warranty just for 12 month. So now i have this new microwave with cracked door. I called Whirlpool customer service and been told they could not help me at all. So very disappointed. Its not only the aesthetics, its a safety concern as well. I attached the pictures of the door - how it started and how it is now.

TLDR: This microwave should cost $200. It has fewer features and settings than microwaves with traditional dimensions, and it feels like it takes up as much space because it's so long. Don't spend $500-$600 if a regular sized microwave fits your space. Purchased: July 2023 I got this microwave for my backyard converted shed house because of the low ceiling. If it were not already on the wall with the vent hole cut in the wall, I would get rid of it and get a smaller microwave with more traditional dimensions. Pros: Quiet, cooks well, bright interior light that makes it easy to see food. So basically, features I would expect in a hundred dollar microwave. In this kitchen with lower ceilings, this unit allows more space above it for storage than a regular microwave. Cons: First of all, slim is a misleading term to describe it. It's just shorter from top to bottom than standard microwaves. What was taken from the height was added onto the length, and it looks and feels suuuuper long in my tiny kitchen. Its depth is the same as a standard microwave, so it extends 18" from the wall. It's as if it was smushed down and isn't as tall but is just as deep and now longer from being smushed. Due to location of available studs, the microwave isn't centered over my 24" stove. This drives me crazy every single day, and I know it's not the microwaves fault. But it continually makes me wish I'd gone with a regularly shaped microwave the same width as the stove. For over $600, I expected a control panel packed with choices. For this price, I would like features such convection and air fry. I knew this machine didn't have them but thought its alleged smallness would make up for the fact that it's just a microwave. But it's not small. The control panel is behind the door, so cooking settings must be input with the door open. I need a much space clear as possible in my 30 SF cooking area, so the extra long door being open at all takes up precious space. The door blocks a cabinet when it's open, and it can't be closed until cooking selections are input. It's annoying and weird, and the only advantage of it being concealed is so fingerprints won't show. But there are other 3 visible buttons on the right hand front side, the main usage one being the start button. Way over on the left hand side are the exhaust fan and stove light buttons, again visible. They're located on the body trim of the unit, not on the door. I was shocked to find that this microwave comes with a halogen bulb in the overhead stove top light fixture. It is so hot that one can feel the radiant heat coming from it when cooking or within close proximity to the stove/microwave. Plus it was dim. I can't believe someone thought it was a good idea to use halogen lighting for an appliance that gets really hot when in use. So one of the first things I did after it was installed was order LED bulbs on Amazon. It lights up the stove top as well as the sides very well. Link to bulbs: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PQRF2DQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share This microwave gets the job done, but so can a $200 regular shaped unit. I would not purchase again.

I've been so bummed out because I couldn't have a built-in microwave. The space above my range was to low for a traditional one, so I had to put one on the counter top. Well, that took up half my counter and I don't have much counter space to begin with. Then, this Low Profile Microwave from Whirlpool caught my eye when I was at the home improvement store one day, I HAD TO HAVE IT. I don't know how long it's been out, but I don't care, I bought it and had it installed and it's perfect. It "Nukes" great and the sounds and alerts are pleasant to hear as opposed to the annoying beeping sound they used to make. It looks bright and sleek, I highly recommend this microwave, I do wish it was priced a little more reasonable, but on the other hand it's worth it.

I bought this a little over a month ago and I am so happy I did, I have reclaimed counter space, 3 stage stovetop lighting & a 3 stage powerful hood fan. I love the hidden menu & keypad panel. It is a touch pad so fingerprints will show. Careful wiping/cleaning it though as with a touch pad, the door will open, the light will turn on & the fan will blast at high speed, but the look of it & all the pros outweigh all that. Sorry, digital numbers have never showed up correctly in photos.

My 2nd in less than 3 years, the first went completely out a little over a year, the 2nd still works but it is rusting out completely on the door and interior, paint is flaking

I absolutely love my microwave as it has a push button to open which is a nice feature plus all the numbers and controls are on the inside so it’s a learning curve to punch in the timings then close. The fan and light controls are on the left side so set off by themselves. I’ve only had it a week but it’s quiet and at just the right level since it’s so compact. Yesterday I used it for popcorn using the popcorn button and it came out perfect. This replaced a relic counter microwave that was here when I bought my condo and I couldn’t be more happy with this purchase!

I’ve had this microwave for just over a year. Except for the lack of “soften” function, I really liked this product. However, just before the year warranty expired, the finish of the microwave has started to peel; we ensure that the fan is running at all times during cooking. When I contacted Whirlpool about this, nothing could be done because it was a “cosmetic defect.” Apparently, this is a common issue and I wish I’d known that sooner prior to purchase. If it’s this expensive for a microwave, the finish should last for longer than a year…

I bought this last month and so far very happy. We use the open button open the door hopefully the mechanism will last. This is my first Whirlpool appliance I ever purchased so I’m hoping I have it for a long time. My last microwave was a Shark and it lasted me 36 years.

I bought this during the covet 19 stay at home order to replace an aging Frigidaire model that required percussive maintenance due to excessive vibrations each time it was used. this low profile model was very welcome to our small kitchen. The loss of height in the microwave cooking area does not seem to have had any impact whatsoever on our uses. The mounting system was very straightforward to install after watching a few YouTube videos. The instruction sheet that was included, though, was not very intuitive to read. The venting options make this somewhat complicated if you don't have an existing venting set up. our original microwave was set to recirculate, so that is what I did for this one too. that is also the default configuration, out of the box. the extra space that was made available over the stove top exposed parts of the backsplash that had previously not been updated. please keep this in mind if this is a replacement for a larger unit.

I bought this last January, installed months later after remodeling the kitchen, and now the door and face of the unit is already cracking and chipping and falling apart. The previous microwave was a whirlpool and almost 30 years old and had no issues. This is what I thought was the nicest appliance I'd ever purchased and now I'm so upset. No recourse because it's out of warranty but I would have expected it to last longer than a year before falling apart. After reading more reviews the cracking seams to be a common problem and whirlpool should make it right.

So far we are really happy with the low profile microwave. We have low ceilings and our previous one was to close to the cook top and the new way gives alot more space. The inside is surprisingly bigger than it looks from the outside. I'd say we only lost maybe an inch. So happy I found this one. It does sound different running than our old microwave but it was pretty old. The chime is pleasing but it would be nice to be able to adjust the volume a bit. I have slight hearing loss and I have a hard time hearing it when it dings but I can get past that down fall because I love everything else about it. Easy install after removing the old one.

LOVE this microwave! It's truly been one of the most noticed features in my new home when guests come over. They're shocked by how short it is, but still has plenty of room inside. A d they LOVE the open button. They think it's fancy. LOL Absolutely quiet. Can hear a low hum when it's running. When it goes off, I usually have to figure out what the beeping is because I forgot it was running My only gripe with it is that it tends to burn my microwave popcorn. I've tried the popcorn button, tried just going for 2 minutes. Best results I've had is by bringing the power down to 80% and listening CLOSELY

I bought this microwave oven at Home Depot. 1.) The metal mounting bracket is supose to have the words "REAR WALL" stamped into the metal in two places, it is misspelled as "REAL WALL". Hard to believe no one has corrected this? 2.) The tone that alerts you when the heating cycle is complete is so quiet it is difficult to hear. I called Whirlpool customer service and asked for Technical Support to ask how to turn up the volume. They couldn't hear the tone too well either, said it was suppose to be louder and had a service man visit to evaluate. The service man said these low profile microwave hoods are all like mine, hard to hear. Home Depot and Lowes do not have these units plugged in so there isn't a way to realize how quiet the tone is. I can recommend this product, however the buyer should realize the alert tone is difficult to hear.

For what little I use a microwave, this one seems to be excellent and it definitely does everything I need. I love the low profile because thats what i needed based on the space abpve my cooktop.I obviously have to figure out my times and power settings for this unit, but that should take long. It was easy to install... even installing the venting for the top of the unit up through ceiling.

We are redoing our kitchen completely including all new appliances. Our first mission was to get our microwave off the soon to be installed granite counter tops.. so went to a few retailers to look at the offerings... it’s worth mentioning that we had just ordered our oven and fridge .. which happened to be Whirlpool, my thought was to stay brand loyal. I noticed that a lot of these over the range microwaves were big and bulky and didn’t offer venting which had to replace the hood we had. I went to Whirlpool’s website and I found what I was looking for. It is incredibly modern looking.. sleek and does everything as advertised.. it’s built like a tank, yet maintains an elegant look, it is solidly installed and is going nowhere..my tall mug fits fine and larger dishes as well. It’s not exactly the cheapest on the market but I believe it’s the best your money can buy, Kitchenaid has a version as well and they are fetching $600+ . I went to Home Depot and they ordered mine, took a week.. plus I get 10% vet discount.. worth the 5 minute trip. It was installed along with our new cabinets.. it also matches our other new Whirlpool appliances , I also reviewed on this site. We were LG fans..so we thought but not to bad talk , but we were frustrated with the issues we were having even after a month of ownership, so we made a change... we are now very happy with our purchases.. Hopefully we’ll keep Whirlpool in our household for a long time to come.

One month in and I’m loving my Whirlpool microwave! This over-the-range microwave is perfect and exactly what I needed and wanted. It replaced a 7 year old, regular depth one that left very little room to cook a large pot of soup on the range top. The 400cfm fan works very well and all controls are like touching a smartphone. Another bonus, this unit can be wiped off without engaging any settings. My second favorite feature is the touch to open door (no handle necessary), which means I don’t get shocked every time I open the door. Love it! ps- I have one more finishing touch to apply to cover part of the wood panel, then all will be perfect.

We bought our Microwave from Lowes in 2020/ 2021- our microwave is out of warranty. I have reached out to Lowes, and reported that the door plastic is starting to break down and fall apart. They said that I would need to call Whirlpool. I reached out to the customer service and tried to report this issue. I was told that with the microwave out of warranty, there was nothing to do but to replace the door. I will be replacing my entire microwave for a different brand.

I’ve purchased dozens of microwaves in my life and I can say without hesitation that the Whirlpool Low Profile 1.1cu. ft microwave is second to none!! I remodeled my kitchen and I installed an over the range pot water facet because of that, I needed a narrower microwave/hood combination and that’s where Whirlpool came to the rescue! This microwave is incredible! It’s not only low profile, it’s almost like a piece of art, but don’t let its looks fool you, it can cook practically anything! The control panel is on the inside of the door opening which is, in my opinion, a brilliant place to put it! It has ALL the standard preset buttons that you find on most all top of the line microwaves but Whirlpool has engendered it in such a way that it’s use is effortless! To top it off I paid $329.00, on sale, through LOWES which was less than the bigger, less stylish, less functional Frigidaire microwave I was originally going to use! An Incredible and Beautiful Microwave, at a Great Price, made by Whirlpool... For me it was a no brainer! I will never by any other bigger, uglier microwave again! I would highly, highly recommend!

Perfect for small kitchens! The low profile of this microwave is awesome. I wasn't sure I would be able to have a built-in microwave in the space I have in my kitchen, but Whirlpool made it happen.
