I purchased the 30" 5-burner w/ grill, dual fuel convection slide-in range with the baking drawer 1 1/2 yrs ago. Very disappointed in the quality for the price-$3399. Thought the knobs were embossed stainless steel. They are knobs with PLASTIC labels. The labels are peeling off all the burner knobs. Guess what! They don't even sell replacement parts for the knobs. The oven does not heat evenly and does not maintain constant temperature.

I am so excited over this amazing range. We upgraded our kitchen to all KitchenAid appliances and couldn't be happier... Hopefully, we keep being this happy... I received them all the day before Thanksgiving and on Thanksgiving I was using every part of the range that I could... Turkey in the oven, Rolls baking in the warmer drawer below and potatoes and prep work on the stove top!!! No bright colors, no wifi, just amazing job well done just like I needed!!! Now on to Christmas baking... I LOVE our new additions...

i love the look of this range and i love cooking with it; however, there are a few issues with it. first off, the quality of the production of this range is poor. the plastic on the control panel is applied unevenly, so there's an unsightly peeling plastic on top of the panel. more noticeable though, is that the top handle was installed unevenly. who's making these things? the handle is 1" from the top of the door on one side, and 1/2" from the top down on the other. for $3k you'd expect things to have been installed properly. additionally, the oven takes about an hour to cool off after using it, so the oven fan can be heard running long after you're done cooking. not a deal breaker, but it was unexpected. lastly, it's difficult/annoying to try and wipe clean the stove under the grates (which i do after each use) because the grates are heavy and interlocked with one another. if you don't clean your stove often, it won't bother you. all that said, the burners cook food evenly, heat up water fast, and the oven works nicely. but i wouldn't recommend it based on the poor craftsmanship.

Wow, what a disappointment this range has been….the time it takes for it to pre-heat is just unacceptable (30 minutes to get to 375 - 400 degrees). I have tried using the convection oven feature to create a quicker pre heat - it only pre heats to 325 degrees… The stove top is not stainless steel either - it is an alloy which has already become stained by a slight splash of something that was cooked on top. I have a cheaper 5 year old LG electric range that does a much better job than this. It is hard to believe that Kitchen Aid would put out such an overpriced and low functioning stove top range. I would return it if I could for a full refund.

Left a duel fuel 30” slide in Wolf in our old home. We loved that range. We moved several states away and are retired. We love to cook and had to replace a beat up old GE Profile range that was not worth repairing. After much research, we ended up with a dual fuel 30” slide in Kitchenaid with 5 burners and a warming draw. We love it. The top grates are heavy duty without tip over holes. Quite frankly it may cook better than our Wolf. Browning/crisping is fast and clean without burning. Great “crockpot” simmer burner. Awesome flat top griddle. Oven is even cooking. We are very pleased. What we dis miss was a more thorough owners manual with some new recipes and tips. Unit does not come with that, only an installation manual is included

A word of warning to those purchasing a KitchenAid Range. In December 2015, we purchased a 5 Burner, Dual Fuel, Convention Range with baking drawer. Christmas Day 2016 - oven stops working, giving us only an error message that the cooling fan isn't working. No response from KitchenAid Customer Service. Since it is no longer on the one year warranty (2 weeks over), we can't find anyone to service it for 2 weeks. No oven for Christmas or New Year's. Very frustrating. I would assume that an appliance would last more than one year especially with the price we paid for what we thought was an upper end range. I hope this review will persuade others to look at other options.

After agonizing over appliances for our new kitchen; I couldn't be happier with our range. A gas cooktop and convection oven is the perfect combo without spending a fortune. Plus the oven capacity is one of the largest around for a single oven. We love the look and get tons of compliments on it. 2 additional bonuses - baking/warming drawer and top control dials! We're looking forward to the holidays with it but so far it's been a dream. A huge step up from our traditional freestanding range - and looks soooo much better. I only decreased the star rating from 5 to 4 because I think the owners guide could be better.... It's very easy to use but not 100% intuitive.
Form and Function for this working mom07/03/2016 05:00 AM
I bought this range when we built a new house. We decided to purchase the range, refrigerator, and dishwasher from the same line to have a consistent look, also presuming we would get more for our more monies. This range has been a big disappointment. We purchased from a local, very well respected, appliance store and their service department was great; something I never thought I would need to know since we were purchasing higher-end appliances. (We always bought Kenmore Elite and were very satisfied) We had 2 service calls within the first 4 months due to a burner not being able to heat a pot of water of spaghetti in less than 30 minutes. After the servicing it still takes 12 minutes, and only with the lid on and salt added to the water. As for the self cleaning... I never had to scrub my oven after one cleaning cycle on a high-heat cleaning. I put this oven through 3 self-cleaning cycles and it still is not completely clean. It has "aqua-clean", aka steam clean. I clean my oven every 3 months, whether it needs it or not. I am meticulous about a clean oven, so it is not as dirty as most people would let it get before I clean it. I attached pictures of my "dirty" oven before cleaning it. Now, mind you, the instructions say to scrape large pieces of debris from your oven floor prior to cleaning. Say what!?! I thought this was self-cleaning!! I never scrubbed a self-cleaning oven as much as I do this one. Why did'nt I post pictures after it was clean? Because it looked pretty much the same aside from the scrubbing I did to the spot on the floor of the oven. I didn't want to confuse you as to which were the clean and which were the dirty pictures. Let's not even mention the racks. You are suppose to remove them before the "aqua-cleaning". And how are they suppose to get clean?! Well you have to scrub those babies yourself. I guess that's where "self" cleaning comes in. Over all I gave it 2 stars because you can bake in the oven and cook on the stove-top, but if you want a self-cleaning oven and to boil water in less than 12 minutes purchase something else....might I suggest to check out Kenmore Elite! We also had a service call on the refrigerator; but, that is for another post.

Our Kitchen Aid dual fuel gas range has been a source of grief from the very start. Needless to say, I've been very disappointed since the unit has required multiple service calls, multiple replacement parts (this unit is nearly brand new with all of the replacement parts that have gone into it) and little dependability since it breaks down when needed (like family gatherings). To add insult to injury, because I wanted to replace an electric range with a gas range (that was my dream for 30 years), I had the added expense of installing gas tanks and lines to bring in this Kitchen Aid unit. Fourteen months later, now I'm wondering why I even bothered.

We have owned this stove for over 3 years and thought we could overcome its major shortcoming--knobs so easily turned that a slight brush against them turns on the gas well before the ignition click. It was when our explosive gas alarm sounded that we knew we could no longer cope with the problem. If we had not been at home, our house would have exploded. I was told by KitchenAid that the stove was designed specifically for handicapped use. Why wasn't I told this at purchase? I was also told that mine was a "use and care" problem, not one of design. The finish is so delicate that it scratches with a fingernail. Such a disappointment.

Upon opening the shipping carton and unpacking the various parts, we found some damage. The steamer tray in its own small box was bent on one corner with the paint/porcelain flaking off. The control console is bent upward at the very front and angles towards the rear of the unit. The oven and stove top work fine, but the appearance needs some work due to the shipping damages.

If there is a problem, be prepared for extremely poor service. Our range was converted to propane and the left front burner does not work properly. The burner apparently was manufactured by an Italian company called Defendi, so perhaps Defendi is the root cause of the problem, but I purchase from KitchenAid and they provided the warranty, so KitchenAid needs to fix the problem. There is a choke or venturi that is needed to provide the correct fuel to air ratio for the left front burner and the venturi will not stay in the burner base. When it falls out you get a yellow tipped flame and soot all over your pan. We have had two "Authorized Service Providers" try to fix the problem. The first gave up and said they could not fix the problem. The second authorized service provider tried, but has not solved the issue. The latest proposed fix is to change the gas valve which is absolutely not going to fix the problem with the venturi falling out of the burner base. So, as it stands now, the wrong part is on back order and I have a stove that KitchenAid has not been able to fix in eight months. My advice? Don't purchase this range if you use propane.
Sad Kitchenaid Owner05/07/2019 12:54 AM
I bought this range along with three other major KitchenAid appliances for a new house, and rather disappointed with both the range and KitchenAid's customer service. The cooling fan will stay on for 2.5+ hours after using the over for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. I've already had the installers and a repair technician out and they say that the product is vented properly. The service technician mentioned that the fan should turns on at 170 degrees and off just below. Mine shuts off at 135, but should NOT take 2.5+ to cool to that temp. Unfortunately, I've dealt with some rather rude people at KitchenAid regarding this issue. It's a shame as I expected much more from KitchenAid

I bought this range a month ago, this machine is amazing, it has changed how I cook. The one thing I didn’t know I needed is the proof feature, it makes all the difference in making pizza dough. The only regret is I didn’t get it sooner. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is nothing is ever perfect

The review cited below summarizes the problem we have been having perfectly and gives credence to our review. When we bought this stove several years ago our daughter came to our house on Christmas Day while we were out to find the house filled with gas and the knob on the stove bumped on. Thank God she came because our dogs were home and she was able to open the windows and air out the house. After that incident I called KitchenAid and was told there was nothing they could do and that there was no recall. We were extra vigilant at checking the knobs after that but repeatedly found that a slight bump to a knob would turn on the gas. This past Sunday we woke up to a house full of gas. Apparently one of us bumped a knob the night before and gas had been leaking into our house all night while we slept. God must have been looking out for us because we are still alive but I am getting rid of this range asap. Even worse is that the smell seemed faint because we had become nose blind from smelling it all night. Do not buy this range! I am not being hyperbolic by saying that my house could have exploded this week. Tap a knob with your hip and the gas will come on. It is dangerous and KitchenAid will not stand behind this problem. “Getting rid of this unsafe range a year ago This range came as part of an appliance package on a newly constructed home. We love the dishwasher and the refrigerator, but are really unhappy with the range and will be replacing it after 4 months of use. On several occasions, one of the burners has been accidentally turned on by brushing against the knobs as you are working in the kitchen. My husband thought I was crazy until it happened to him as he was cleaning the backsplash. It has also happened with guests as they were prepping food on the counters adjacent to the range. One time I came through the vacant kitchen to smell gas and the unlit burner had been on for some time and we ended up having to open all of the windows on a 6 degree day. Unlike the range at our previous home, this one does not automatically ignite if the gas is on. You have to turn the knob to an exact location to get the burner to ignite. “ As an aside, the review complaining about the finish on the oven pealing is absolutely true as well.

I purchased this stove in September 2021 - so 17 months ago. About a month ago I noticed peeling on the top of the oven door. Every time the oven is turned on, more bubbles happen, more peeling happens. Also the glass on the oven door has little bubbles in it. Not sure what that is from. Now one would think after paying almost $3,000 for a stove KitchenAid would stand behind their produce. Nope. Customer service told me that since I do not have the extended warranty, I am out of luck unless I wish to pay $135 for a service call plus parts and labor. How is a stove this expensive already have damage and the other question is why is a stainless steel stove peeling. Obviously it has some sort of coating on the door. I work hard and I replaced all my applicants to KitchenAid around the same time when I purchased the stove. I have Samsung products which were horrible. My 4 yr old Samsung refrigerator is in our garage. I do not understand how a company as reputable as KitchenAid would not stand behind their product. There obviously is a defect with the door. Buyer beware. I was in love with this stove until the peeling started. Definitely not worth the price.

I bought this range at the end of 2022 and 30 minutes into my first use, it started a fire in my home. Unfortunately, over the last six months, despite numerous attempts, Kitchenaid/Whirlpool has been unwilling to investigate this range, which caused a life-threatening situation in my home. Six months later, I have an expensive, faulty range that I can’t use and no resolution from Whirlpool. Beyond the normal channels, we even reached out directly to the CEO with our concerns and we were summarily ignored. Buyer Beware.

Just got this stove a few weeks ago, so remains to be seen how it holds up but it looks beautiful - very sleek and professional and is easy to use for both myself (a total novice cook/baker) and my husband (a professional chef). We haven't tried out all the features yet but the basics we love - especially having the electric convection oven and gas stovetop. Have not heard great reviews about the self-cleaning feature but we haven't tried it yet ourselves. We are happy with the look, features and quality for the price - it operates like a professional range at a mid-range price.
Hannah11/13/2015 06:00 AM
This is the replacement unit that Kitchen Aid sent. I have had about 10 service calls, range was swapped out, main gas meter to the house was changed out by the ga company, and now Whirlpool’s “master technicians “ have determined that this is not a defective product, closed my file, and said the decision is final. Keep in mind that the customer service people working from home have no access to the videos sent to tech support, and will not allow customers to speak with technical support. All of my current appliances are Whirlpool, and this will be my last.

DO NOT BUY. I bought one in August 2023. The oven stopped heating to above 280 F in January, and the broiler flame does not come on. It is now March, and after 6 technician visits under the “warranty” I still do not have a working oven or broiler. They have replaced the oven igniter, the broiler igniter, the DSI board 3 times, and now they think it is a faulty safety valve. With all of the work done on the unit, the sides are scratched up and the burner knobs are misaligned, with the glue holding the base rims in place giving out. At this point I think it’s fraud - they sold me a defective product and their warranty is worthless if they do not in fact fix anything. This is my biggest home purchase regret of the past 9 years of being a homeowner.
DCHomeowner03/11/2024 04:15 AM
It's my first gas stove in 12 years, and I believe I prefer electric. It's not as easy to clean as a cooktop stove, however, I really like the grates and the 5th burner. Be careful not to touch the control knobs when cleaning the stove. I have had them come on while cleaning. The oven is electric, and seems to take a longer than normal time to heat up, as well as longer to bake food. I've had to clean a mess in the oven, and it cleaned easily with soap and water, and a magic eraser. I haven't tried the warming draw, but the draw doesn't have a tight/snug fit. It's a beautiful range, and I'm still in the learning stages.
Teresa10/12/2015 05:00 AM
We are now on our 3rd range. First one, damaged upon arrival and the baking drawer would not close. There was a 2" gap and the heat just escaped from it. We had to wait 4 WEEKS for a replacement. 2nd one had a severe GAS LEAK from the back of the oven. Our gas company had to make an emergency house call and found that the regulator in the back had been set wrong at the factory and was leaking gas. Installers came out and said range was faulty and needed to be replaced. Our gas was turned off and we are now told it will be another 2 WEEKS to get a replacement!!! Ridiculous Kitchenaid. I purchased this oven 6 weeks ago and have not been able to use it.. POOR.
Tmo05/02/2016 05:00 AM
I bought this range in 2021 and overall am pleased with the range. The key issue I have had with the range is that the control panel is extremely sensitive. If liquid gets spilled on the panel and sits too long or if the panel is touched frequently in a short period of time, a fuse (I think it is called fuse F1E3) burns out and I get a message to call for service. This has happened 4 times now in the 2 years I have had the stove. The last time, service company replaced the control panel and while it seemed “less touchy,” the fuse burned out again and I have another call in for service. Because of this issue, I purchased a 3 year extended warranty. If you buy this stove, get the extended service warranty.

Purchased this 6/2019, installed in July 2019 and not used until Thanksgiving. Attempted cleaning with Aqua lift before Christmas. Spent an entire day scrubbing and scraping, 4 cycles through Aqualift and it is still extremely dirty. Aqualift did not remove or loosen anything and is a step back in time to cleaning ovens without oven cleaning chemicals. Nothing "self-cleaning" or automatic about it. I believe that the technology that is supposed to make grease release is not real or missing. The grease on the back near the blower does not budge. Totally disappointed and waste of money. No help from Kitchenaid on the problem either. Cannot recommend. Kitchenaid: Bet you don't post this either.
