Mine was delivered May 19th and I was so excited, didn't last long though. Found that the water saving cycles do not clean. Whirlpool did send someone out to check it, he contacted the tech about water levels but was not able to uptain any awnsers. Went over soap amounts to use and suggested using the deep wash cycles, they take over an hour still don't clean as well as I hoped, so much for the energy and water saving idea. When I contacted whirlpool again was told I was past my 14 days so they wouldn't be able to help. Suggested that the small business I bought from might take it back and sell it, not supper keen on the idea of passing it off and having someone else suffer

When I finally received the unit 3 months after I purchased it I am extremely disappointed! The dryer catches my clothes and leaves holes in them. The water level in the washer does not even cover the clothes, I have to take buckets of water fully submerged my clothes. It is an energy star approved unit but in reality if you have to use your dryer twice to get your clothes dry how are you saving energy!? Covering on the dryer lint trap continues to catch the dryer sheets and other unwanted items. I would not recommend this unit to friends family or even enemies! Thanks for nothing whirlpool

Cons: Washer is so deep, I’m 5’4” and I can’t reach the bottom. You will need a stool to get them socks from the bottom. The agitator cone has too large of a slot at the bottom which causes your cloths to get jammed underneath. It’s literally ruined many of my clothing. So many ruined cloths, it’s even ruined a couple of my husbands tough work shirts. Difficult reaching in due to the spacing from the door to the bottom of the Dryer above Not very much room when the washer lid is open. A true struggle. When you choose the deep water wash, The water still only fills half way. I have resulted to using a bucket to add water. So ridiculous I know. Dryer sheets get stuck in the crack of the lint tray every time . And I’m sure.. there are more things I’m not recalling right now. PRO: the company installed it free of charge.
Very disappointed07/01/2021 03:46 AM
We love American made products and this one doesn't disappoint. Love all the different settings. Both washer and dryer have ample space for large loads. My only issue is I'm a little short (5'1") so I have trouble reaching the bottom of the washing tub.

I bought this machine a year ago and I haven't been happy with this purchase at all. As someone else mentioned, the auto dry feature does not work, there is no buzzer, and it takes 2 to 3 hours to dry an average load. A couple of towels makes the machine jump all over the place while it goes into the spin cycle, which is barely spinning out excess water. Forget about washing two bathroom rugs, or a light-weight duvet. Clothes get caught under the washer blades... I have to unwind them to get them out from under the blades. The list goes on. Spend your money on something else.

This Whirlpool W/D is just ok. I don't see it lasting 15 years like my previous one. Doesn't feel very solid. A lot of plastic parts with the washer. My concern is the plastic clasp when you close the washer so you can start the machine. If the plastic part breaks, it won't start. It also has to farther from the wall then I thought due to the dryer venting. The pros are it is a good size washer and dryer. I needed more room in the laundryroom so that's why I got it. Fingers crossed it lasts at least 5 years. Overall, it is ok.

I bought this a month ago and I might have made a mistake. The Washer / Dryer combo has great looks and seems to function as described. I think it important to share the following concerns: The washer lid is very heavy and held open by a magnet. You must hold it with one hand as you close it. If you let go, make sure your hands are clear of the opening or you will experience the pain of it falling on you. Please be aware that both the water level and the drying time are automatic. We are experimenting on how to control this attribute better. We now keep the instruction book handy because the Washer / Dryer instructions are underneath the washer lid. You have to get on your knees to read them (see photo). Crazy. It would be nice to have a dryer alarm to alert you for no-iron clothes.

I bought this from All-Star Appliance in Waterbury at a price higher than I could have purchased on the internet. Service was a big priority and the guys did a great job with the delivery and would have completely installed it if my plumbing was ready to go. I was using this equipment for about a month when if failed during a spin cycle. My retailer was there the next morning to confirm that a control panel needed replacing. They ordered one immediately and had it quickly installed after it arrived on backorder. The repair guy also fixed the dryer door that was hard to close; he fixed the latch and its fine now Its been working excellent ever since.

I love my new washer and dryer. It is so much quieter than my old machine. The washer is a bit deeper than previous one. It does a great job cleaning my clothes much more efficiently. The dryer is great it does a much better job with big comforters. Great purchase and fair price.

I was to have delivery 8/7 but store said it had significant damage and had to reorder. I had to go to laundry mat from 8/5-8/21 for 5 people 1baby. I am 67 not in good health. I couldn't get quicker delivery. Made many calls to Lowe's and Whirlpol. I almost got another kenmore. I am glad I waited. This whirlpool laundry center is soo quiet and gets clothes cleaner than any washer I have ever had. We had to install ourselves as drain had to be higher but in use 8/23. Dryer is extremely quiet and with different settings dried quickly without wrinkles. THANK YOU WHIRLPOOL. It was worth all the aggravation, money and hard work I had to go thru.

Bought the stack back in February 2019, and it's worked well for most normal items - BUT the washer has been shredding laundry-friendly pillows, dog beds, duvets, basically anything stuffed (new and old), and the occasional shirt sleeve. I've had to spend hundreds of dollars replacing items and countless hours hand stitching clothing back together because this thing keeps chewing them up. I just spent 10 minutes fishing out pillow stuffing from the basin. The control panel rattles/vibrates a lot too when the dryer is on. For the amount of money this thing cost, I should hope to be able to trust it with my clothing.

I've had the unit for about 5-6 days and have done 3 loads of laundry. So far, all is working fine although the dryer door is very difficult to open - takes a good pull and I'm a 73 year old woman, so that may be a factor. Much tighter latch than the 20 year old Whirlpool unit replaced. The deeper wash tub and higher dryer ar4e of no concern to me. I'm 5'4" and can reach both easily. As a matter of fact, I believe the washer tub is larger than the old one. Did I say it replaced a 20 year old unit? So far, I'm happy with Whirlpool stack washer/dryer.

I bought to replace a stackable unit in our beach condo. I need a full size and was worried this would not fit in our small laundry space (the model that did fit was no longer available and this one was a little deeper). Luckily it did fit. It has great features and so far so good. I was only there a week but did several loads and it worked well and pretty quiet. My only complaint is that the dryer door is hard to open and close. I guess the latch is really tight but hopefully with loosen just a bit with time. Overall very happy with the purchase.

I had a Whirlpool 27" stacked washer/dryer for 20 years. It worked great. Something in the dryer unit finally failed. I was looking at $700 to repair or $1400 for a new one. It didn't make sense to spend $700 to repair a 20 year old machine. In hindsight..................... Clearly Whirpool had to bow to the Gods at the EPA or whatever regulatory agency told them to replace the tried and true analog controls with digital garbage that doesn't work. It did not work from hour one. I'm still waiting for a replacement. 2 weeks. And Home Depot said it wasn't their problem and that Whirlpool has to provide the replacement.

I bought this in March 2018 from Canadian Appliance Source (CAS) and it was received in defective on delivery. CAS was absolutely not willing to assist or offer anything to resolve the issue. I needed to deal with Whirlpool directly. After lots of phone calls and emails, I received a replacement laundry pair from Whirlpool few days ago. But this new laundry pair is still not operating. A technician from Whirlpool designated service company came yesterday and said it was dead as well. I totally have no confidence with this laundry pair anymore and want to either exchange for a different model or have the money back.

I am very happy with the space saving and not having to pick a water level. It is perfect for me and my small area.

I ordered a fridge and washer and dryer from whirlpool and it took FOUR deliveries (over a week in between orders) because they were delivered damaged! Three broken fridges and finally the fourth one worked...we were out a working fridge for weeks. The FOURTH washer and dryer they delivered was damaged then out of stock. This company is the biggest joke and biggest waste of my time. Their customer service line is a two hour wait every time to reorder AND at the end of the day they did NOTHING to fix the mess they caused. DO NOT ORDER FROM WHIRLPOOL.

We bought this combo washer/dryer back in August 2018, and after few uses of the dryer clothes started to get stuck under the front door twisting everything together and ripping off and tangle all together, we called Brandsmart service department and their answer was “since it did not happened in front of me the machine is fine”. This issue of course doesn’t happen every time but is very often, pretty frustrating. Definitely don’t recommend this to anyone. You will spend too much money replacing your clothes.

I purchased this in late September 2025. It replaces a similar model Whirlpool stacked laundry center that was purchased in1994. I loved that unit and had only 1 service call in 30+years! I felt after 30+years I should update. I am so disappointed in this new unit. It takes forever to dry even a small load of clothes. It took two full drying cycles on "very dry" delicate to dry a few delicate items. It took one full "very dry normal" cycle PLUS 60 minutes on the timed drying cycle to dry 1 bath towel, 2 hand towels, 2 wash cloths and a dish towel. I hope there is something wrong with the dryer, if this is normal, I want my 30+ year old laundry center back !!!!

I'm 70 and always had Whirlpool appliances and have nothing but good things to say about them. Well 4 years ago I bought a property with my son and his wife with a house and cottage for myself. I made the mistake of letting them pick the appliances as my health wasn't good. They bought a LG all in one W/D combo and I hated it through 2 repair bills in 4 years and never liked how it took all day to wash and dry a load and noisy too! So I finally bought replaced it with this Whirlpool stacked unit at half the price of what the LG cost! It's quiet and efficient like I always came to expect from Whirlpool. Thank you Whirlpool. Next is the refrigerator.

The washer dryer I am reviewing is a replacement for one of the same model that had the same problem. The auto dry feature does not work, there is no buzzer and the washer does not always fill properly. It also takes 2 to 3 hours to dry an average load. I have had two technicians come out and both said they could not find a sensor or any wiring for one in the machine. Was it left out during manufacturing? Given the number of good reviews, I can only think that there was some kind of mistake at the plant.

I am 5' 3" and too short for this unit. Be sure you are tall enough for this laundry center. The basket is pretty deep so I have to stand on my tiptoes to get to the bottom and remove clothes, and also have to be very careful standing back up so that I do not hit my head on the sort of sharp edges of the lid/closing mechanism. The dryer door is relativeely small and there is a high lip to get into the dryer, again a bit of tiptoe standing to be sure everything has been removed. The controls, of course, are on top of the unit. I wasn't able to actually see the unit in person when it was ordered.. definitely not a good plan and not recommended. Carefully make sure you can use your unit in the ways you want to before buying. The best thing so far about this laundry center is that the dryer is quiet.

My experience with Whirlpool appliances, in terms of value and reliability, has always been very good, for decades. This washer dryer combo, with new features like; washer water level sensors and dryer humidity sensors, makes it a highly efficient machine. It consumes less water and energy than any of it’s predecessors. It’s noise level is pretty low and acceptable. Overall, I am very happy.

We recently purchased a new home and the builder provided this unit from Coast Appliances. Hard to describe how poorly it functions. The basic problem is that it does not fill above 40% capacity with water, leaving clothes dry and unclean after a load. Another issue, soap does not dissolve because of poor water level. Multiple loads with very minimal loading is the only option to get some level of cleanliness. Whatever efficiency you were supposedly getting, is lost when you have to run numerous loads, where other machines could just do one load. Another problem is the dryer leaves lint marks on clothes. I wish I could get my money back and advise you not to spend your money on this machine. I previously thought of Whirlpool as a leading appliance brand. Hopefully someone reading this can help.
