• Steam function is totally unusable. Water shoots straight on door and runs out the bottom of dryer door. Discovered by slipping it puddle in front of dryer! Was told a larger load is needed ( a set of king size sheets was too small) “Sheets are turned into a burrito”(quote from service tech). After he tried to adjust steam it squirted brown water on new set of cotton sheets that are now permanently stained! Whirlpool owes me a new set. Also have to constantly reboot dryer if not connected to internet.

• Seems to work well but door doesn’t close right. The prong that sticks out hits the door lock entry. This constant contact has started to chip away at the prong.

• I bought a 7.4 cu front load smart dryer from them and received it 6/10/25 around 4pm. The delivery guys don’t test the dryer and all its settings. Immediately after testing the it was leaking water everywhere and not in normal areas like the back or where your clothes are in the front. It was leaking from cracks where the product panels come together. So much water we had to mop it up. The day after that the product didn’t even cut on. You won’t know the product has an issue until you use it. The servicemen don’t stay long enough to fully see the product through. They can’t even get servicemen out in my area but 2 days a week. Customer Service is only open Monday-Friday 8-6pm est. so you have to take time out of your work schedule to set the issue addressed which I did on 6/13/25. They will not replace the product even if you gently use it to see if it works. They don’t disclose their process for if the dryer continues having issues, what should be done. They don’t replace the product. Even with 3 year warranty protection they don’t do what it takes to give you a decent product less more a return. I used to be a whirlpool fan and now I make sure to tell people DO NOT BUY ANY WHIRLPOOL or Amana products. They are under the same umbrella. There are plenty of other companies with better policies and confidence in their products.

• Was happy with the unit until I tried using the Reduce Static setting. No matter the size of the load, big loads are still damp when the cycle ends, little loads are soaking wet when the cycle ends. Called support and they said you have to use the setting with full loads, so I ran double the amount I normally would, and it didn’t help. Still had to run a “Quick Dry” for 10 minutes without Reduce Static after that cycle finished to take the damp out. Clothes definitely do always have static when using the normal settings without it.

• This whirlpool dryer is so cool! The radiant silver finish is beautiful. It works great and has so many features. It has a steam refresh to get the wrinkles out and WiFi start so you can start it while out and walk in to warm, freshly dried clothes or blankets. I will admit, I expected it to be a bit quieter though.

• Upgraded from our 20 yrs old Samsung dryer. That was a great dryer mind you. But after I replaced the heater, thermometer, and thermiter. Still had over heat issues only thing left was to do a full tare down together under the drum for yet another sensor. I was over it. And most tech laugh when I ask if you service my area (outside of town). So que our new dryer and a washer too. Stackable which is great freed up a buch of floor space.

• We were looking for a washer and dryer set for awhile and watched a bunch of videos that compared all of the major brands and read a ton of reviews from consumers on their purchases on Lowes and Home Depot. There were not a lot of reviews on this particular Whirlpool, Model 6720, because it is relatively new, so I hope this helps others in their decision making. We got the Volcano Black option and like the esthetics but what is really amazing is how quiet the dryer is and how simple it is to operate them. We have only had it for a couple of weeks but we are proud that we did our homework and research as we are not disappointed and actually look forward to doing our laundry. Our washer and dryer run efficiently and are doing a better job getting our clothes clean and dried than our previous GE ever did. Whirlpool used to be the best of the best and for whatever reason they may have slipped down the rankings but I believe that the 6720 model will restore their reputation and put them back on top as it offers the best of all brands - and although we have not used their app to control our washer and dryer, it is nice to know that they are keeping up with the times - eventually we may get around to using it. Overall we are satisfied with our choice - it is competitively priced, has a decent warranty and when I called to register the warranty, I actually spoke to a live person that offered great customer service.

• Update #2: I don’t know what happened, but miraculously they delivered the dryer on February 24, one week earlier. Today is February 26, and we’ve been using the dryer non-stop since we had accumulated many bulky items that needed to be washed and were difficult to hang on the drying rack. Until now, our review was one star because of the entire Whirlpool customer service situation. Today, I’m changing the rating to three stars. I’m not giving five stars due to the lack of empathy and urgency in resolving a problem that was caused by the company’s defective product. As for the product itself, so far so good. The only observation we have, which is the same as many reviews we read, is that clothes don’t get completely dry. We are using the drying level set to “More” and are still getting slightly damp clothes, which makes us run “timed dry” after the normal cycle to add extra time. Compared to our old Duet, I would choose the Duet, as we never had this type of issue. However, both the washer and dryer are very spacious and work well (although I still think the Duet was better, we just needed to upgrade because of how long we had owned them). UPDATE: I finally received a confirmation email with my delivery info. They scheduled it for March 3rd — 1 month from our original delivery date, 1 month since they removed a working dryer and replaced it with a new defective, non-working one, and without taking responsibility for it. Whirlpool customer service is a complete mess; they really don't respect their customers at all. Original review: Received my new dryer 2 weeks ago (2/3/26). Something inside it caught on fire the first time turning it on, I was testing it myself (the installers didn't test the dryer after installing it). It filled my entire house with heavy white smoke and the alarms went off. We also used their haul-away service to remove our other appliances, which means we now have no dryer. Our previous one was old but working, and now I’m drying clothes on a hanging rack in the middle of the living room because the cold Michigan winter doesn’t allow me to put the rack outside. We live 1 hour from their warehouse and even offered to haul the defective dryer there ourselves and pick up a new one, which they refused. Dealing with Whirlpool has been incredibly difficult. They first wanted to send a technician to fix it (which we refused, as we want a new dryer, not a repaired one). After multiple very long calls, they scheduled a delivery for 2/16/26. Since we didn't receive any type of confirmation or email, we called to confirm the delivery and were told it would be 2/24/26 instead, still no email confirming it, just words. It is very disappointing to realize that your favorite appliance brand treats a very delicate situation like something ordinary. I'm still upset about the risk this appliance put my family in.

• This dryer is so fast and drys everything it’s one load. It’s great durability and for energy consumption. The dryer is very quiet and does not make any noise. It has made my laundry job so easy and not to forget it’s beautiful.

• This is a great dryer. Lots of different options for drying different items, as well as different drying temperatures. Isn’t too noisy and can fit a king comforter. My only dislike is I had to complete a setup through an app.

• I bought this new Whirlpool Dryer because my 20 year old Whirlpool dryer (same model) finally gave out. I do like this dryer and it works very well if you dry normal loads on "timed dry". When I first used the dryer I found waistbands, sheets, towels coming out slightly damp in spots. I called for service because I thought something was wrong. The tech told me that nothing was wrong...just dry everything on "timed dry" which I've been using. I love the large capacity of the dryer and the touch pad for the controls. However, if anything, in my opinion, there are too many bells and whistles. But that's just the way things are made now.

• The installation process was super quick. The panel was easy to figure out and has decent selections. The dryer holds a decent amount of clothes, bedding etc. the drying time is pretty quick and rarely do I have to put it on again. It’s also a super quiet machine. I can have it running and you can barely tell it’s on. Not sure how energy efficient it is but being new, I would hope it would be. The one feature I’m not a fan of is how you have to push and hold the start button to get the machine to start.

• I have had this appliance for about a month. It is difficult to use. It takes very long to dry normal loads, especially when drying special loads on low. 60 minutes of drying time at medium heat doesn't dry a normal load of clothes. This machine is less efficient than my previous dryer that was 20 years old. When I open the door, it is cold as if outside air has gathered in the drum. That's confusing. Safety information says not to dry some things that should be able to dried. For example, some pillows that are labeled as washable can't be dried in this machine, and those pillows would never air dry properly.

• So far the washer and dryer are working well. This is my first time purchasing Whirlpool. The only reason why this product is not a 5 star is because Whirlpool has horrible customer service. Every time I called or went online to chat with someone, it took forever to just connect with someone. It's as if they only have like 5 people working there or something. I would not recommend this brand just because of customer service, but at the same time, I'm not sure about how any other brand is either. I hope all big brands are not like this. This has no affect on the product itself though. App is kind of useless, other than just letting me know when a load is complete.

• This dryer seemed like a good replacement for my 18 year old Whirlpool Duet Steam Dryer. Lots of cycles, and good steam refresh function, which I use frequently. No Damp Dry cycle but does have a customizable cycle hat i thought I would use for that. The One-Star review is because I was declared a defective dryer, a rather impressive leak through the door whenever a Steam Cycle is used. Contacted Whirlpool right away and they scheduled a warranty repair or replace appointment for the very next day. That vendor never showed up and did not contact me about anything. Called Whirlpool again, trying to find a different local vendor for the repair/replace and was informed that there was NO OTHER LOCAL VENDOR I was allowed to schedule an appointment with, my warranty would be voided if I did. Have continued to try to schedule something with the vendor I am forced to use but here I am, more than a week out from delivery, with a defective dryer and no repair appointment! Shocked that this is the same Whirlpool company that I have bought many products from and never before had an experience that even comes close to what I am experiencing. No idea what to do now. (Tried to upload video of problem but site won't allow me to do that.)

• First dryer showed up with significant damage (scratches and dents). Second dryer showed up and only ran two loads before throwing an error and shutting down completely. A new part was ordered and the dryer didn’t even run a full cycle before shutting down - defective part! We are still waiting on the new part and I have yet to see shipment information. It has been nearly a month since we’ve been able to do laundry at the house. With a pregnant wife and two toddlers, this is beyond frustrating.

• Only had this dryer for a couple of weeks, but so far it does its basic function of drying clothes better than the last two dryers I had. Most of the time the clothes are acceptably dry after a cycle, with only a couple of loads requiring additional drying time. I haven’t yet used the stream function (and may never). The touch screen is small but effective for choosing cycle options. It’s probably about average on noise levels. The filter screen isn’t as easy to clean as others, and there is also a felt strip that holds a little lint and is more difficult to clean. All in all it’s working well enough so far.

• The machine purchased and delivered looked like a dryer, but did not dry clothes, it was not fit for the purpose for which it was intended contrary to the sale of goods act, The machine should’ve been replaced immediately. Instead we went without a machine for two months while service guys stood around, scratching their heads and replaced every part in it.

• I bought this a month ago and the household is so glad I did. Fantastic Dryer with simple and easy to use features and adjustments for every type of clothing. The delivery, hookup and overview by Whirlpool was awesome. Love the steam refresh feature and has been really useful. Highly recommend this and the matching Dry Drum Washer!
