• So far, so good! Product was installed by a professional plumbing company and we have had no issues at time of this review (12/2024). It's a larger unit than we normally install at our properties, but it's the size that we replaced and that has worked perfectly in the roughly 2500 sq ft home.

• It sucks that the drain it’s plastic it shows brass on brochures It give you the impression of this tank is garbage because it’s made with cheap plastic Great tank I have been installing 5 -10 what a heat a month for the last two years

• My State water heater started to leak over the weekend so I had to have a replacement put in on Monday. The GE Realmax was what the plumbing company had available, I have found that since the new unit has been installed we were having to turn the hot water up to a higher when we shower. I have also noticed that the GE Realmax is louder than the state unit was. both units are 50 gallon but for a first impression I feel like i took a downgrade. Overall I have been very happy with my GE Profile kitchen appliances and I was expecting the same experience.

• The unit worked for9months, then the pilot went out. And it will not light up again. I can small gas, but the piezo will not light it. And the status light is out.Ben waiting 5 days now for service technician to come. GE you got to do better.

• I have had my water heater for approximately 3 months. In that period of time, my plumber has replaced the unit that controls the heat and also the igniter 3 times. Fortunately, it is still under warranty, but that means that I have had far too many cold showers with no hot water. I was told and I read that this is a reliable water heater. I totally disagree. I will let him replace that part tomorrow for the LAST time. Going forward, I will look for another non-GE model water softener.
