• I purchased this filter on 1/28/2024, installed it on 2/2/2024 and on May 23,2024 my Whirlpool change filter light came on. There are only 2 people living in the house using the water from the refrigerator at a drinking normal rate. This filter is supposed to last SIX MONTHS NOT THREE. Paying almost $50 for a filter that lasts only 3 months is ridiculous, I would be better off buying a off brand filter.

• I started by buying this water filter off Amazon and had to return it several times. I saw where folks stated Amazon ones had issues and I could get the filter functioning and cheaper direct. It is indeed cheaper to go direct however much to my dismay I ran into the same issues. The filter operates as expected but gradually slowed to a trickle around the 3 month mark. If I remove the filter there are no flow issues. I traced the waterline back to the water softener found no leaks or kinks. I've watched troubleshooting videos and attempted to rectify the issue.

• I just purchased EDR1RXD1 and tested it with my TDS Tester. The reading is about the same as my tap water. I have purchased 2 from Amazon, returned both, then bought one from Whirlpool and same result. My tap has a TDS reading of 159 while the filter has a TDS reading of 142. It’s like the filter isn’t even working. What’s sad, is people without these testers are getting robbed because they wouldn’t know any better. After reading reviews online, it appears that this common and this is just a really bad filter. Do yourself a favor, buy bottled water or a different water filter option.

• We ordered a 2 pack of these from Whirlpool to be prepared for the first time we would have to change it. When we changed it the taste of the water was horrible. We tried to flush several times and took it out and put it in again but no change in the taste. I called Whirlpool and they are sending me a replacement filter finally after being on the phone with a few different people there. I did end up using the second filter from our 2 pack and it tastes ok now so it had to have been the first new filter. These cost too much money ($50+) to just throw away and try another one. I'm hoping this doesn't happen again next time but we shall see.

• This is my second Whirlpool refrigerator. I like the refrigerator, but changing the filter is a nightmare!!! This refrigerator is a side by side and the filter is inserted on the outside of the refrigerator below the left (freezer) door. EVERY TIME I attempt tp replace the filter, I CANNOT get it to go all the way in. Therefore the little filter door WILL NOT close all the way and from the water volume dispensing, I am certain it is not filtering!!! The water tastes like tap water and so does the ice. This problem makes me wish I had not purchased this refrigerator!!! It is under warranty, but they will NOT send someone out to just insert the filter!!!

• Very high magnesium and calcium in the water with this filter. I don’t recommend it at all.

• I installed this filter on my new whirlpool refrigerator, (installed February 2020) after the original filter (same make and model) blocked water flow from the water dispenser. This blockage occurred way before I used 100 gallons of water. The filter states on it that it is able to filter 200 gallons of water. Foolish me, I bought another of the same filters - not much of a choice really- installed it and within 2 weeks the water flow was blocked again. Sadly, I cannot find another brand filter to use. Please do not buy this filter or a refrigerator that uses only this brand filter

• I bought this filter a week ago after buying EDR5RXD1 by mistake. The Wirlpool website only labels them as "Filter 1", "Filter 2", "Filter 3", "Filter 4" and "Filter 5". It does not explain the difference between the filters and only showers the picture of the filters with a cap on the top of them so you can't see the different types of connections at the top of them. It is misleading. When I called to return the wrong filter, they told me it is a VERY common mistake! If it is so common, why are they not doing something about it?

• The water filter kept popping out, caused water to back up and it leaked into the finished room in my basement underneath, have stained on a few of the ceiling tiles. Need to replace them. I'm going to try the other brand now

• I ordered the Everydrop Water filter package with the Fresh Flow air filters and only received the air filters. Go onto the website to see if I can find order information and there is nothing. Call customer service and wait for over 30 minutes for no one to ever pick up my call.

• I was waiting for a water filter and after 2 weeks I was noticed by email that my credit card was about to expire. I updated my credit card informations and after a week i received another e-mail informing that my order will be placed on hold becouse of my payment method. Now, I´m trying to cancel my subscriptions and there is no option to do it. I´m working to cancel my subscription for more then 3 hours. I´va chatted on the website, i´ve called by phone and NOBODY can help me. Meanwhile, i purchased the same filert on Amazon and it is alreday on the way. DON´T MAKE ANY SUBSCRIPTIONS IN THIS WEBSITE!!!!!

• I replaced this water filter 3 times in the last year. Water and ice will stopped working and then start again. The change filter light came on only once in that time.These filters aren't cheap

• I replaced the filter as directed. Within 3 weeks water and ice stopped working altogher. I called service repair. I was told it was the filter. I had a second brand new filter, replaced the month old filter, and the new one did not work either. Repair man says it is the filter, Whirlpool technical support says it is the filter. 5 calls and transfers later I am only getting one replaced because there is apparently some sort of secret warranty that expired before I even put the first filter in. I do not recommend buying more than one at a time. They are expensive. If you get the subscription plan you may have your filter too long. :( I can't find that warranty information anywhere. The cs rep is still looking for where I can find it ( 5+ minutes). This is very, very upsetting. I will now wait 7 to 10 days to get one filter replacement. I have been without ice and filtered water one week already. You'd think they could at least expedite the filter as the others are defective.

• I purchased a new refrigerator and the water dispenser flow was a trickle. The service tech removed the new filter and the flow was normal. He told me this was a common problem and to leave the filter out. I bought this fridge to have filtered water and ice. I called customer service and they refused to send a replacement filter even though they shipped the fridge with a defective filter. Based on customer service, I'll not buy Whirlpool again. After reading the reviews with many having the same problem, I found an alternative replacement filter at Filter Pro for $19.99. They have all 5 star reviews and former Whirlpool filter customers who said their filters do not cut down the water flow and has a better taste than Whirlpool. Whirlpool list any more money from myself or my family on products and filters.

• I was sent a water filter that I didn’t order, and was not given a reason or refund to return it. These refrigerator water filter do nothing to change the contamination of tab water, I did a water test with and without the filter and the contamination reading was the exact same. I’m making a video to prove this fact and share the results with the world through all social media outlets.

• I've been buying the Everydrop EDR1RXD1 filters regularly for a while now. We live in a rural area w/ high mineral content in the water. The filters used to do a fantastic job filtering out all the junk. However, something has changed. This most recent one no longer filters the minerals. We set it up like normal, as we always do. But, as you can see from the photo, it's doing a terrible job filtering out the junk/debris. A note about the water in this photo: the filter through which the water passed is not old. I took the water directly from the water dispenser on our Whirlpool fridge w/ the EDR1RXD1. This did not happen w/ previous filters. Whirlpool, did you change the quality of the EDR1RXD1 filters? Thanks

• I can't review the product (water filter) since I subsequently found out I didn't really need it. So my review is more about the website and process of getting my recurring 6 month charge for a replacement stopped. I took the time to set this up (back when I was led to believe I needed a water filter). I had trouble navigating the website (even with having set up an onliine account) so I got this cancellation of recurring costs/replacements via a ph call to customer service rep who was helpful and even guided me concerning how to get my credit card info that was on-file deleted (for privacy and scamming purposes). For this I was appreciative

• Ordered the subscription for this water filter from Whirlpool because I thought it would be a better idea that feeding into Amazon. Received the wrong filter, even from the wrong company (Frigidaire). After initial 45 minute phone call with customer service just to be disconnected, 3 emails without a single reply, a waste of time AI chat program, finally got onto chat with a human being. Said he couldn't help and gave me a different number all together. I have now spent over 45 minutes on the phone with a person to be placed on hold for 30 minutes of the time on and off waiting for the person to comprehend what happened. I don't even know if this is going to be resolved. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE. IT DOESN'T EXIST WITH WHIRLPOOL ANYMORE!!! Get the filters from Amazon, they actually work and have customer service when you need them.

• These water filters used to cost between $17.00 and $27.00. Now they are like $59.99. AND THEY ARE ALL OUT OF STOCK. Never buying a Whirlpool anything again.

• I'm in the automatic Everydrop filter program through Whirlpool. I've always been please - EXCEPT - for this last set. No matter what I've done to try to prime both (I get 2 at once and have open both trying to get them to work) they won't allow water to come through. I put my used filter back in and all works great. Tried multiple times, multiple ways and no luck. THEN, I've tried calling, emailing and getting customer support to no avail. I still don't have a filter that works. HELP WHIRLPOOL customer support!! I know we in the midst of COVID, but your customer service is horrible! I've been trying since I got my replacement filters shipped to me in MAY!!! I'm so frustrated that I've decided to place a horrible rating here in hopes of getting someone to respond to me and find a solution to the $89.99 I spent on 2 unusable filters!!!
