• I have the following Whirlpool refrigerator: Model: GR2FHTXTL00 Ser: EW0516067 Replacement Filter: Order Part #4396701 (L200V / NL120V / NLC120V (Info from User Instructions manual) I have used P/N 4396701 successfully since original purchase. Several years ago Whirlpool redesigned their filters and now recommend the EDR6D1 P/N as a direct replacement for the 4396701 which was previously used. I have ordered these filters from several different sources and manufacturers and none of these fit! As a last resort, I went directly to the Whirlpool site and looked up the replacement filter for my refrigerator. Prior to ordering this filter, I called the Tech Support number and they verified that the correct filter was the Everydrop EDR6D1. Now I have a "Genuine" approved water filter, purchased directly from Whirlpool, that is totally incompatible with the originally approved filter P/N 4396701. It can be observed from the picture submitted that the totally different locking mechanism proves, without a doubt, that the filters are NOT compatible! Help!

• I contacted customer service to order filters for our new fridge. I told them I thought I needed number 4, but was told that is incorrect and that I needed number 6. I ordered extra filters to have on hand- number 6. They arrive. Are wrong filter. Need number 4. Very frustrated. I’m told I out of much that the money I paid will not be refunded.

I tried an off brand that said it was "compatible" - caused a leak that led to over $2k in floor replacement. On line learned some others had same experience. Never such problem with this part, so worth the 2X to 3X cost. Water tastes pretty good - but next fridge I'll make sure I have a different less vulnerable design.

But these last couple of filters (over the past year), I have had difficulty getting it to fit into the slot in the refrigerator.. It is not quick and easy like it used to be. Takes many, many tries to find the 'sweet spot' to get the filter in correctly.

• Bought this filter today, and it DOES NOT FIT into the slot located in the bottom right of the refrig. Refrigerators are suppose to last for years & years, and to have to buy another refrig because there are no parts available is absolutely ridiculous. We have been thru multiple filters that are "suppose to fit".

I use the filtered water for house plants and they are thriving plus there's no lime build up in the soil around the plants. I'm a big water drinker and drink no other water than this filtered water at home.

And i have noticed that the water is significantly cleaner and cleaner with absolutely no strange odors. It was quute easy to install in the refrigerator and runs smoothly. The ice it produces is also free of cloudiness or unpleasant tastes

It doesn't come with any directions and I had to do a ton of research looking for videos to see how to install it. Also, it doesn't twist all the way in no matter what I do. I'm hoping it works ok.

I went online to Whirlpool and found the correct filter at a reasonable price. It took a bit longer to receive than I expected, but it fit perfectly and the unit is working fine. Many thanks.

• I have replaced several filters on our fridge. Same filter number was used but for the last two filters, it will not turn horizontally all the way. So the cap doesn’t line up properly with the grate.
