• I'm have the same problem as others wrote regarding the fact that it does NOT FIT and won't turn to lock in place. I'm extremely disappointed as I've had this refrigerator for 18 years and have loved it. Now I can't get filtered water out of it. Had been so happy with this whirlpool product but now have to reconsider whether I purchase another whirlpool refrigerator in the future. (Model # is GD5SHGXKT01)

• I BOUGHT THIS 6 MONTHS AGO AT HOME DEPOT AND IT DOES NOT FIT SIMILAR TO THE PROBLEMS OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING WITH OLDER WHIRLPOOL MODELS. I CONTACTED THE SUPPORT TEAM AT EVERYDROP AND THEY INSIST IT IS BECAUSE I USED ANOTHER BRAND AT ONE TIME AND BROKE IT BUT THE INDENTATION AT THE PLUG MOUTH ARE WIDE ON THE EVERYDROP 5 AND LESS WIDE ON EVERY OTHER BRAND. • I bought this from the recommendation of whirlpools website based on model and serial number of my fridge. I even had them send me a second one in case it was different. Turns out same exact problem. Based on the pictures I saw the same thing everyone else did and that was the tips have different designs from previous filters I have used. Glad they are willing to give a refund, as these are pricier than the competitors. I did find one that doesn't exactly turn the quarter turn, but it works, no leaks.

• I decided to seek another place to purchase water filters for my refrigerator which is over 20 years old and still operating. I thought the price was good especially if I signed up for a subscription. The problem is that this filter does not fit my refrigerator despite whirlpool indicating that it would. thus I will be returning the filter and canceling my subscription. So disappointing. In addition it is nearly impossible to talk to a live person via chat or on the phone.

• I bought this filter after checking with my Whirlpool fridge model number and this one coming back as the correct result. I ordered it and it does not turn to "lock" as it should. I see there are several other reviews for this item that indicate the same problem. When I called Whirlpool to ask about it, they insisted that this is the correct filter even though it obviously does not fit and it is not just my refrigerator issue (as in, it is not broken) because clearly other people have the same issue. What is the solution here?

• I just received this yesterday and it does not fit my Whirlpool refrigerator GD25DFXFB02. It looks similar to the one the replacement filter I have in there now but the thread part that is supposed to engage and pull the filter to seated as you twist it, does nothing. The thread part appears to be the only thing that is different.

My husband was able to install it pretty quickly with little to no complications. Its compatible with my may maytag as stated. There are no leaks or anything like that. Other than replacing it every so often, it seems like maintenance is simple. It doesn't seem to really effect the water pressure. But it does improve the taste!! I'm so happy to be able to stop going through tons of particles bottles. I love this and it's so worth it!

• DOES NOT FIT OLDER REFRIGERATORS even if they call for #5 filter!!! Other reviews elsewhere indicate there was retooling at some point, and more than one person indicated damage to their refrigerator when they forced it, including leaking and flooring damage afterwards. My photos show a different brand which fits fine, but the brand new EveryDrop #5 will not fit. You can see the connector tooling is different. Left the old filter in for now while waiting for issue resolution. MAKE IT RIGHT, EVERYDROP/WHIRLPOOL!!!!

Sure this filter is a bit more expensive but if you want a filter why not buy the best filter you can. Most of the inexpensive filters do not filter most contaminates. Before you buy that other brand check out what impurities are filtered and compare. You will be amazed by the performance of this filter. And yes it's easy to install and the water taste great.
